Guess who is finally back lol, after a year with this fic in the grave, we're finally back with another ep.
I had a huge case of writer's block while redoing this episode over and over again and after a lot of changes, in the end, it kinda turned out to be one huge headache lmao, be warned.
Hope you guys will like it anyway lol.
I don't own anyone here but my characters.
Episode 6: Olim
Dear Mom and Dad, I'm doing fine
The camera zooms into the two large entrance doors of Manoria. Chris immediately greeted the camera with a malicious smirk on his face.
You guys are on my mind
The view now shows the living room, where Laila was seated on the couch with her legs up on the ottoman. Maelle comes in and serves her tea, but accidentally trips, causing the tea to spill on both girls.
You asked me what I wanted to be
The tea splashes onto the camera (luckily the camera is tea-proof) and it washes away to reveal us a view of a bedroom. Gerald was busy looking at himself in the mirror but suddenly turned around due to someone tapping him on the shoulder. The person doing so was Foster. Gerald immediately hid behind on what or who seemed like another being known as Allan. Foster blinked at the sight, and as soon as he opened his eyes again, they were gone.
And now I think the answer is plain to see
The camera now zooms through the window to get a view of the garden. Pandora was seen taking a picture of a beautiful chrysanthemum flower patch when Tala unknowingly passes by. This causes Pandora to snap a picture of Tala by accident. The two girls looked at each other before slightly blushing and looked away.
I wanna be famous
In another part of the garden, we can see Fridge, Aditi, and Jessica playing with a ball. Fridge throws the ball towards Jessica with a powerful force. Luckily for Jessica, she was able to duck down just in time as the ball flew past her, however, it hit Aditi who was behind her, sending the shorter girl flying towards a flower patch.
I wanna live close to the sun
The scene changes to the study room where Sheldon was busy reading and calculating stuff from a book. To his dismay, Rory and Sua were on the other side of the room jamming to music, with Rory slamming his hands on a table to the beat to improvise drumming and Sua singing, or rather, screaming some lyrics.
Well, pack your bags 'cause I've already won
Sheldon became angry and crumpled up a piece of paper to throw at the two. Hector however passes by the room on his wheelchair with Jace pushing it and Hector is accidentally hit on the head with the paper. This causes Jace to send a glare towards Sheldon.
Everything to prove, nothing in my way
Back outside just near the forest that was near the manor was Tyler with a hunting bow and arrow with him, ready to aim and shoot. Suddenly, Jeremy scares him from behind by singing and acting out some gestures from musicals… with a hand drawn clown mask on his face. Tyler accidentally shoots aimlessly towards a tree, sending birds flying away, which now surprises the musical nerd.
I'll get there one day
The scene cuts to Wyonetta who was now in a dark room. She looked cautiously everywhere with a flashlight on her hand and began to step backwards as a sign of almost wanting to run out of the room. When she turned back, she accidentally ran into Eli, who was a bit shocked by her running into him but nonetheless bore a smirk on his face.
'Cause I wanna be famous
In the foyer, Summer was seen putting a disk on a phonograph. She smiled, giving the audience a sign that music began playing from the phonograph though no one can hear as what we are hearing right now is the theme song. A hand then was in front of her, in a 'may I have this dance?' kind of motion. Summer looked up and saw Pierre who wore a smile on his face. She gladly accepted his offer and the two began to dance.
Na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na!
In one of the bedrooms, Laverne was seen trying on some outfits she brought along with her. Naka was also watching her do so, complimenting on how the model looked. Laverne then gave Naka an outfit to try on as she thought it would fit her but Naka's expression says otherwise.
I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous
Dustin was back in the basement, looking at the room full of the Manorian treasures. The only light source in the room then begins to run out, resulting in only pure darkness.
I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous
The darkness clears up, revealing a rather ghostly being looking much like a human, only a ghost or some spirit. He had grayish hair, and a blue outfit that made him look like some kind of royal guard. It cannot be Dimetrius, right?
*whistling in tune*
Mist takes over the screen and eventually clears up as the cast now gathered up in the foyer's main staircase for a cast picture. As the camera snapped the picture, the words Total Drama Knightfall showed up on screen.
It was lunchtime by the lighthouse. The canned goods that the rescue team provided them were technically more than enough to last until dinnertime and that was all they ate.
Laila wasn't even touching her food.
"Um… Laila? Have you already eaten?" asked Aditi who looked concerned for her teammate.
The snob snorted. "This slop you pea-brains call food? Oh please, Eli and Fridge have been devouring some of the cans almost an hour ago. And besides, they're disgusting."
"It's not even half bad." Laverne shrugged as she took a spoonful.
Jessica had just finished eating her plate. "You know, you're not gonna get very far if you keep on acting like that."
"Yeah, Lai-fiend!" Fridge shouted, burping instantly after. "Oops."
"Disgusting. Your look makes me want to hurl."
"Hurl all you want, but don't forget we can hurl you out of the competition." Hector said nonchalantly.
Eli chuckled. "Good one, dude."
Lytsari was eerily silent as they ate. Sheldon and Wyonetta were staring at each other as intently, the former looking nerdy as ever and the latter looking like she wanted to beat the guts out of him.
"You two looked as if you guys were going to tear each other's throats off." Jace commented, not minding too much about the rather unnecessary tension between the two since he was just writing in his notebook.
"I would like to see that happen." Maelle commented.
Jace gave her a weird look. "Eh?"
"Not literally, of course. I'm not some sort of sadist." the maid replied without much emotion.
Sheldon examined the hockey player angrily staring at him. "You clearly are the eristic type. You haven't even finished your food."
Wyonetta almost laughed. "Are you blind? I finished my food minutes ago."
"Oh." Sheldon squeaked as he looked at her empty plate. "So may I know the reason why you are you are examining me?"
"Me? Pah! You're the one who's examining me—"
"Can you two just kiss already?" Rory groaned, almost rolling his eyes in the process.
Summer stood up and was about to put away her tray but since the space was too narrow, she stumbled to the side and pushed Wyonetta a bit, causing the hockey player to lean forward towards the nerd, to the point where their noses were almost touching.
"GASP!" Sheldon… gasped as he quickly pulled away.
"...Oops." Summer gulped.
"Oh my god that actually almost happened, holy shit. Just so you guys know, I wasn't trying to manifest anything, I swear to god." Rory defended, raising his arms up defensively.
Hours later, and it was already evening. The camera pans to the Chevaliers who were already preparing to go to bed.
Tala was sitting on her sleeping bag when Jeremy took the time to approach her. "Hey, what's up? You haven't been talking since we met at the docks."
"Eh, nothing much." Tala sighed. "Just bored probably." She stood up and began to head out. "I'll be in the restroom."
Jeremy just nodded, thinking that she should still have some space. Though what caught his eye was that from the mirror, he could see Foster glancing towards them and pacing back and forth. "You good, Foster?"
Foster showed Jeremy the polaroid that Tala dropped a while ago. "Hey! Isn't that—"
"Yup." Foster nodded. "Something's in it."
Gerald stood from his bed and walked to them, a tad bummed ever since Allan 'betrayed' him. "What's happening with you guys?"
They looked at the polaroid… but nothing was happening.
Skipping further into the evening, it was now late into the middle of the night. The day that Pandora left gave a melancholic atmosphere among the cast and the staff, but at the same time, at least they were given a whole day to rest.
Tyler couldn't sleep. He looked at the pocket watch that was just conveniently placed on the table near the window, not caring about who owns it. It read 3am. Maybe it was because all the events that had happened in the past few days couldn't give him a break even if his body wanted to.
Next to the pocketwatch was a very mysterious looking book. The pages looked old as parchment and the binding looked like it was some sort of bible or something, thanks to its maroon binding and fadingly golden finishings.
Now what he did next was something that he would definitely regret for the rest of his life. Opening it to a random page, there was nothing written on it. Just light coffee-colored paper. His calm demeanor stopped when he saw blank ink being scribbled into the pages reading,
"Once upon a time..."
This was when a burst of light began to consume him and everyone sleeping around him.
The next morning, everyone woke up to a very familiar place.
"Ugh…" Foster was the first one to groan and get up. Being the survivalist he was, he looked around his surroundings and quickly observed. He quickly noticed that something wasn't right…
"What are we doing here!?" He shouted in disbelief, alerting the rest of his team who were together with him. "This… this is…"
"Maze Palace…" Gerald muttered to himself. "Wait… Maze Palace?"
He was about to run away from the group but Jeremy grabbed him. "Dude, not now."
"Not now? What on earth do you mean by that? We are back here in Maze Palace! Allan could be—"
"We don't know if this is the real Maze Palace." Foster cautiously answered him. "This place just doesn't seem right."
Tala held her head as a headache was starting to make its way into her head. "This is the throne room. How is it… still intact?"
"How is this whole place still intact and back to the way it was before?" Tyler loudly asked in even more disbelief. "And even fancier than the first time we've been here… as far as I know, this place was down in the rocks last time…"
"It's possible if this place…" Tala was starting to put two and two together. "Not real."
"Wait…" Jeremy stopped in his tracks. "Where's Gerald?"
"He was right…" Foster looked at where the other boy was, behind him. "...here."
"Oh god, here we go again." Tala gulped as the group began to run towards the throne room's exit.
"Knights…"
The team stopped running as they could hear Chris' voice in the room. There were no speakers in the room, so it almost made it sound like Chris was some sort of spirit.
"Your challenge…"
The team looked at each other nervously.
"What now…" Tyler gulped.
"...is to stop an assassination."
Eli, Fridge, Hector, Aditi, Laila, Laverne, and Jessica were walking in the gardens of the palace. They had no clue that they were in the same palace that almost claimed their lives thanks to a certain challenge a few episodes back. But this is probably because they were in the garden area, an area where they never really went to.
"The sky looks… horrifying." Aditi commented, looking slightly terrified at the skies above them. It didn't look like it was going to rain.
The sky was in an ominous dark red color, with streaks of lightning and thunder clashing flashing here and there.
"Where are we?" Laila frantically looked around, looking frightened for the first time. She turned around and saw Eli and began shaking the big guy, which shocked even Laverne to see how strong she was. "You! Eli! Tell me!"
"I don't know either! Why are you asking me as if I know everything?" Eli whined. "If I were that bowl head guy from Lytsari, then for sure I'll be able to answer your question!"
Laverne looked past Eli and Laila and saw the palace's windows. She ran and quickly took a peek in one of the windows and managed to have an idea.
"Guys…" she began. "We're in that place with those random earthquakes."
"Whoa…" Fridge gawked, though it wasn't because he was amazed. It was because he was starting to slowly form an idea that they could have been kidnapped again. "Hey friends, we aren't kidnapped or any of the sort, right?" The jock looked everywhere. "That weird ghost fiend didn't drug us or anything, right?"
"We don't know, he could have. As I'm speaking, we're probably seeing a plethora of hallucinations right now." Jessica started to feel a teensy bit panicky. "I'm still surprised we could still walk around while being this hallucinated. Wait… we could still walk… but… oh my god, where's Hector?"
"Knights…"
The sound was coming from inside the building. They all turned their attention towards it before they could even go somewhere else.
"Your challenge…"
"Oh no…" Aditi covered her ears.
"...is to stop an assassination."
Everyone in the Lytsari team was taking their time to look at everything surrounding them.
"Wow, this does look familiar." Rory commented.
Sheldon coughed. "It is. I just really hope that we do not have to frolic out and about for that absolutely crude excuse for a throne room."
Wyonetta let out a chuckle. "I almost agree with you on that last part."
"Why thank you, it took me a bit of anal—"
"I wasn't gonna thank you and your dumb analysis, Shel-dumb." The hockey player spat.
In the midst of their commotion, Jace was a few feet away from them holding his notebook while looking at everything they were at.
"I think I know where we are at." Jace said, though he thought pretty much only he can hear himself.
But he was wrong.
"Where are we?" Maelle asked him. Though she didn't sound quite uptight and strict like she does here and there, her tone of asking sounded more like an interrogative one.
"It's… hard to explain." Jace looks towards the door. "Wait right here."
He dashed off.
"Wait!" Summer shouted, rushing up to him.
"Don't follow me!" Jace commanded her, causing the girl to stop in an instant. His sudden change of tone got her slightly frightened. "I'm sorry but I think I know how to reverse this. It would be hard to digest if I could tell you all that we are in Dimetrius' last memories before death."
With that, he ran.
"Dimetrius'... what?" Rory stood there, confused.
"Knights…"
The sound was coming from above this time. Everyone looked up but all they saw was the ceiling above them, adorned with intricate lighting and chandeliers.
"Your challenge…"
"This is still happening?" Wyonetta groaned in disbelief.
"...is to stop an assassination."
"I was wondering about how normal this challenge is." Jeremy spoke sarcastically as he and his team were casually walking towards the familiar staircase. "I mean, the previous challenges have been way too not Total Drama-y. And now we have to find Gerald. I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't the first time we tried to find him."
"To be honest, I'm kind of worried and annoyed at the same time." Tala sighed. "I'm worried about him and what he's becoming of and at the same time, this whole Allan fiasco has been painfully annoying. But I can't even blame him thanks to that throne room incident."
"Where do you think he could be?" Tyler asked.
Several running footsteps were heard.
"Get back." Tyler ordered. Jeremy, and Tala went behind while he and Foster got into a fighting stance. "Let's go over there." He whispered, pointing towards a fork in the road.
They hid in a darker area where anyone who would pass the corner wouldn't notice them that easily. That was when they saw a bunch of soldiers running to the other side.
"What the…" Jeremy gasped. "These must be the assassinators. There's a lot of them for just one guy though."
"Unless they're planning to go after a group." Tyler pointed out.
"...We gotta find Gerald." Foster frantically said.
Once the seemingly long line of soldiers were finally out of their sight, they decided to get up and go. But as soon as they heard another set of footsteps, they instantly just stopped.
"Crap, who's that?" Tala hissed under breath.
Then…
"Friends!"
"Oh okay. Phew." Jeremy sighed in relief, immediately recognizing the group.
"You guys get what Chris had just said, right?" Jessica asked as soon as the Ritters arrived, a bit shaky as she was worried about Hector.
"Yes. And I really don't like the sound of that." Tala shook her head.
"Oh please. We've been doing nothing throughout this whole season other than running and being chickens and going on the verge of dying. This is basically the… what is it… the sixth time we're doing this now. I signed up to win, not die!" Laila loudly ranted.
The soldiers' footsteps from earlier began to gradually go louder again.
"Laila…"
"Shut your pipe, Laverne!" The snob snapped. "We're probably trapped in here thanks to you. You can't even shoot a goddamned ghost!"
Laverne was already heating up. "Excuse you? Tell me how are you able to shoot a ghost? Using some five-star paranormal gun?"
"Oh dear, not again." Aditi whimpered.
"Oh you know, maybe some of the weapons that time were actually real or something! Even some people had to learn that the hard way like when someone's leg nearly got sliced in half thanks to some random shaman himbo—"
"Wait a minute, how'd you know what happened to Pandora?" Tyler asked, immediately growing suspicious of her. "We never told you."
Eli began looking accusingly at Laila. "Way to make us look like the bad guys. Just as we thought we were going to do this together."
Eli (Ritter): "Though I actually don't mind at all if we aren't going with them. I'd rather go with the Lytsari team." He blinked. "What? Sheldon's… nice."
Eli (Ritter. Again.): "Totally not talking about that hot chick Wyonetta. No siree."
However, before the commotion could grow, a certain girl's plea overpowered all the banters.
"Stop! Please!"
Everyone stopped talking.
This was when Aditi broke down in tears. Fridge's level of concern was already hitting the roof but despite that, he didn't know what to do and instead just gave her a big hug and shield her site from them.
…and that was also when the soldiers found the joint group.
One of the soldiers marched forward and grabbed Laila, almost dragging her out of the team.
"Hey, wait! You can't do that!" Jessica pleads but immediately stops as she feels the tip of a gun aiming at the side of her head. She raised both of her arms defensively and stepped back.
The Chevaliers looked at the situation in shock.
"Lower your weapon." The soldier commanded Tyler.
"But—"
A gun click. "Lower. Your. Weapon."
Tyler (Chevaliers): "Am I gonna be able to get this back?"
When Tyler dropped his weapon to the ground, another soldier grabbed it. And with this, they left.
Along with Laila.
"Don't touch me you squid!" Laila roared, but a gun was pointed at her, causing her to stop.
Eli (Ritter): "I really don't want to say this, but good riddance."
"Let's get out of here, friends. It's not good for Aditi."
Jessica nodded, agreeing to Fridge. "Let's go. We have to go look for Hector."
"...and Gerald." Foster added.
This made Jessica realize something.
Jessica (Ritter): "Is this all Dimetrius' doing again? Or could it be that Allan guy that Gerald was rambling about?"
Fridge (Ritter): "I don't know how to stop people from bursting into a river but what I did was right… right? Is Frienditi okay? She hasn't been smiling for quite a while now…"
"So…" Rory looked at Sheldon. "How on earth are we gonna find Jace and assassinate someone at the same time?"
"Are you nuts? We're stopping an assassination, not doing one!" Wyonetta snarled at him.
"Yeesh, sorry lady. No one's perfect, you know." Rory rolled his eyes.
"Wait." Maelle stopped the group. "I hear running."
"Let's hide." Summer suggested.
The group found a sharp corner where they could hide for a couple of seconds just to let the unknown lot pass.
The Ritters and Chevaliers.
"Hey!" Wyonetta jumped out of their hiding place as soon as the teams were a bit far away. "Heeeeeey!"
She grabbed a small stone that was conveniently placed right next to her and threw it at them, only for it to not reach them as it can only go such a far distance.
"Ugh, these massive idiots! Are they deaf or what!"
"Uh…" Sheldon cleared his throat. "According to my prior knowledge, I believe that you are also counted as a," cue quoted fingers, "massive idiot, because of your… um… muscular size."
"At least I can squash you."
"Why am I thinking of that statement in some other way…" Rory looked down in shame.
Maelle looked so done with her group, the maid rolling her eyes in the process. "Let's just go find Jace and make sure he isn't, you know, in the process of dying."
"...Sounds right." Summer nodded.
"Look who's finally talking." Wyonetta sighed.
Wyonetta (Lytsari): "She may have saved my ass a few episodes back but she's still doing nothing in my book. At least in this chapter."
Clank!
"So… this is how it ends, I guess." A voice trailed into a dark hallway. It was way too dark as there was no presence of any light whatsoever.
"...Allan."
A single light lit up the hallway, revealing the brown haired boy. Across from him was a familiar looking blond boy in a Pokemon shirt.
Allan.
"Fancy seeing you here, my friend." Allan spoke. Gerald felt chills as he rarely ever heard his voice. "I'm not so imaginary now, aren't I?"
"Is all of this your doing?"
"Well, no… but…" Allan looked down. "Dimetrius told me…"
"Dimetrius told you what?" Gerald raised his voice, not liking the direction this was taking him. "Answer me, Gerald. Please. Why did you join him? Why did he make you join him?
"I just want you to let me go, Gerald." Allan answered, stepping back. "I'm just a figment of your imagination. I died half a decade ago under the name of your best friend in school. No one can see me besides Dimetrius. I'm dead."
"But I can see you. Foster can see you. What is the meaning of this?"
"Alta nexu, amicitia." Allan chanted, before turning to walk away.
"Wait, Allan!"
The young blond boy turned back to him.
"Do you know… where could the assassination take place?" Gerald asked, hoping for an answer especially since he was starting to lose so much faith in his friend.
"Gallery. Five minutes." Allan answered. "There's a bomb in the gallery. Activate it, and they all die."
"Wait! But will we die too? Or will we go back to reality? Or—"
Then he left him for good. At least in the palace. Real world wise, we don't know yet.
Gerald, now having no more answers, ran back to find his team.
Hector woke up only to hear a bunch of panicking coming from one certain individual.
"This isn't supposed to end this way… how did this happen… how did it…"
"Jace?"
A bunch of guns suddenly aimed at him.
"Wait, whoa, Jace… this was all your doing?" Hector had his hands up defensively, but his expression was a mixture of shock and betrayal, even though he wasn't technically his teammate. But still, they were all coming from one cast and this… whatever this was… did not feel right at all.
"Hector… this is all just a big misunderstanding…" Jace gulped. "A voice… he told me that he will trap us all in this… ending. And that… he was going to use my ending…"
"Dude, what the fuck, just stop this nonsense and get us all out of here! We don't even know what in the absolute hell is going on!"
"Listen Hector, please!" Jace pleaded. "The first book I published… or rather… duplicated… was a biography of Dimetrius' life… up until his assassination."
What?
Hector couldn't believe anything he was hearing right now. Either he wasn't in the right headspace for acquiring new information, he just doesn't get it, or maybe both. "What? So this means… you knew all this all along? You knew this was gonna happen? Wha— then… this can't be the real reason why you're competing for Total Drama."
Jace sighed. "I only know about this challenge in particular. Someone must've opened the book that Dimetrius placed a curse on."
"What do you mean curse?" Hector asked, sounding more confused than ever.
The writer cleared his throat as his mind was pacing back and forth. He didn't know how he should answer his question. "When he died… he cursed the book."
"That very book?" asked the engineer. He did his best to support himself using his arms and sit hinself back in his wheelchair. "Who has it right now?"
"...I don't know…"
"You don't know?" Hector didn't want to, but he felt somewhat angry. What was this kind of book doing here in the premises?
"I'll write a different ending. I'll give it a happy ending if that can help us get out of here."
Hector wanted to believe him but he couldn't help but doubt him instead. "Okay, you do that…"
"Yes. I'll meet you in the gallery." Jace said as he instructed the soldiers around him to exit. When the writer left, Hector took off for the other direction.
Hector (Ritter): "I'm still so confused with what's going on. I'm pretty sure we're just spiraling in a hallucination."
A dark room appears on screen. Yet it's so dark that you can't even see anything, rendering the camera useless.
Laila did not notice the camera.
"Helloooooooooooooooo!" she screamed at the top of her lungs. She was trapped inside some sort of stock room.
Tracing her hands on what felt like some sort of shelf to her, she could feel cans and bottles and all sorts of different little trinkets and knick knacks...
Food?
"Ugh. Where's the light when you need it?" the snob muttered to herself, not knowing what to do. "The nerve of some people these days…"
The lights flashed open, much to her surprise.
"Okay?" Laila gulped, a little frightened by her current situation. Now at this point, she kind of wished she was back with her team. She was starting to think that this was her own fault and now she was about to taste her own medicine.
When she saw the door that was just on the other side of the room, she made a dash for it and rumbled with the doorknob.
…But to no avail.
"It's locked…" she panted. "Whoever's out there, get me out of here, right now!"
Laila (Ritter): She was pondering to herself. "Am I… being punished for treating everyone this way?" She looked at the ceiling, lost in thought.
In a small room in the lighthouse was Chris holding what seemed like the book.
Yes. The book.
"What am I supposed to do with this?" the host asked in an annoyed tone. "I'm even surprised you're here and not, well, sabotaging your own home."
"Quiet, gray one!" Dimetrius' voice roared in the lighthouse, causing Chris to fall back into silence. "We will wait for your children to witness the nightmare I have been placed in… and once they have witnessed my death, then that is where they can return to this frigid world."
"My children? Ew. Anyway, you're not hurting them are you? I can get sued for this, you know." Chris asked the voice.
No answer.
"Okay…"
When Gerald finally arrived in the gallery, the first thing he did was to survey the area. He looked for all sorts of places where the bomb could be hiding.
"Did Allan hide it? Where would he hide it?" He didn't want to think that his friend was the one who placed the bomb but it certainly was a huge possibility. How could Dimetrius do that when he is going to be the victim in this situation?
The sounds of wheels rolling can be heard in the room. The boy automatically assumed that the Ritters, or Hector, is now close by.
When Hector came into the room, he was already surprised to see Gerald looking for something.
"Gerald. Jace might be behind this." said the handicapped engineer.
"No. Allan said there was a bomb in here. It's going to go off in about three to four minutes from now." Gerald frantically spoke, rummaging through different side tables.
"What? You've gotta be kidding me!" Hector stood up and ran for the nearest drawer. His strong hands shook the table, causing the vase on top of it to topple over and shattering them to a million pieces.
"Hector?"
"There's a freaking bomb in here, there's no time to waste."
"Hector!"
"What!?"
"You're… standing."
Gerald was looking at Hector with a horrified look mixed with shock. A beam of hope coursed through Hector's eyes as he looked from his wheelchair to where he was standing.
"But, that can't be real."
"Why not? Gerald, don't give me false hope—"
"Because I saw Allan and he said he was dead so all of this isn't real."
The rest of the Chevaliers then rushed into the room, panting.
"We heard a vase hitting the ground—" Tyler stopped himself as soon as he saw an empty wheelchair. "Wait…"
"What's happening?" Jeremy asked. "First Maze Palace somehow got back up from the ground, and now Hector can walk. What's next, we're gonna see a teenage Dimetrius running in here about to get murdered?"
"Where were you?" Foster pointed at Gerald, with a hint of concern and accusation in his eyes. "Can you stop running away from us for once?"
"Allan told me that there is a bomb in here—"
"Oh shut it with this Allan told me fiasco, it's been giving me nightmares for the past few days! I'm already sick of it—"
"Fine, if you don't believe me, then don't!" Gerald huffed and ran to the other side of the gallery, continuing his search for the bomb.
"Guys…" Tala called everyone in the room, pointing towards a safe. "There's a safe in here. Should we open it?"
"Yeah…" Tyler nodded. He stopped a piece of paper sticking out from the shelf next to it. "It just says 3 in it."
"Try putting that on the safe." Jeremy suggested to Tala.
Click!
"It opened." Tala gasped. When she opened the safe, there stood the most dreaded thing.
A bomb going off in about two and a half minutes.
"Found it." She breathed.
"There's one over here about to go off in two minutes— oh…" Gerald fell silent as he soon saw the bomb. "So… there's two… bombs…"
The Ritters arrived at the scene as they were continuing their search for Hector. When they entered the room, their faces were filled with shocked expressions.
"Bombs." Jeremy answered them in a nutshell.
Some of the Ritters rushed up to the Chevs and helped.
"Hector!" Jessica exclaimed, running up to him. She almost gave him a hug, but stopped herself. "Wait, you can stand up."
"Yeah, isn't it great?"
"But—"
"Wait… don't tell me you think this isn't real, too."
"I… I don't. I'm sorry, it's just that how are things supposed to be real right now when literally this whole thing is some sort of hallucination or something?" Jessica sighed sadly.
The handicapped engineer nodded in understanding with a sad expression on his face towards his closest friend. "Yeah, I guess so. How'd you know that?"
Jessica just sighed.
Jessica (Ritter): "Merely an assumption… That's all. It's just that everything here is impossible right now."
"Wait… where could Laila have gone to?" Laverne asked.
"She got taken away, remember? Look, I don't know where she could be but we gotta focus on that bomb first." Eli answered her.
Laverne (Ritter): "Why am I actually starting to feel guilty…"
Aditi was already shaking at the thought of possible death. "No… this can't be real, right? If this is just us being messed around with in our heads, then we won't die, right?"
Fridge, as optimistic as ever, held his head up high. "Don't you worry, Frienditi! I'll always be here to protect you through anything, big or small!"
…
"Hey, I appreciate all the sappy scenarios but can you all just actually help us in whatever the hell we're trying to do?" Eli called out as he and Laverne were starting to work with the other bomb.
Eli (Ritter): "Dunno if Fridge helping is a good idea. With a personality like that, he could cut off the wrong wire and the bomb would explode with a fucking smile on his face."
"Nothing's working!" Tyler shouted in frustration as he gave up cutting the wires. "There are so many wires in here and none of them actually diffused the bomb."
"At least the bomb hasn't exploded yet." Jeremy added, cutting off another wire. "How many wires are in this thing anyway?"
Suddenly Rory came dashing into the room.
"Guys, the soldiers are here!" The drummer shouted frantically.
The rest of the Lytsaris ran into the room. Sheldon, Maelle, Summer, Rory, and Wyonetta all worked together and pushed the big double doors to a close. Afterwards, they all backed up with the Chevaliers and Ritters.
"I hope they know that there were bombs here." Tala winced.
"I think we should hide." Sheldon suggested.
"There's nowhere to hide in here, though." Summer whimpered.
The doors have opened out the soldiers.
Wyonetta (Lytsari): "Well. Closing the doors didn't work."
"Dimetrius Ranunculus Knightfall. Come out of your hiding place this instant." The general commanded with a loud and imitating voice.
"Can he see us?" Rory asked.
A gun pointed at him.
"I'll take that as a yes."
Suddenly, the almost unnoticeable wardrobe in the far right slowly opened. A young man with gray-white hair in Victorian's clothing stepped out of the wardrobe.
"I'm here. What do you want?"
Jeremy (Chevaliers): "I can't believe I saw that coming. You don't see that happen all the time in musicals."
Eli (Ritter): "Bad timing but he looks nice."
"Turn back and place your hands on the wall." the general ordered.
Dimetrius slowly did as he was told after a long hard look. "After being involved in my parents' deaths—"
The general slowly raised a gun towards Dimetrius as soon as he was facing back.
He loaded the bullet and was about to pull the trigger when…
Slash!
A piece of the glass shard hit the general in the shoulder, causing him to let out a piercing scream.
And the person who threw it was no other than…

"I'm honored to be of service." Maelle said with a small smile on her face, feeling proud that she did her part.
Maelle (Lytsari): "This was actually a plan that Sheldon devised. Rory and Wyonetta where to lure the army towards us and lead us to the gallery. Summer suggested that I should throw something to the general and distract him and since I saw that glass shard on the ground, I did the honors. We should be able to win the challenge now."
While the general was in pain, there was one thing that the cast noticed.
"Where's Dimetrius?" Rory asked.
But unfortunately, there was no time.
"Oh my god, the bombs." Tala shrieked, rushing towards the bomb where the Ritters were diffusing.

Everything faded to black.
Back in the lighthouse, everyone woke up with screams and pants.
"That felt like the worst nightmare ever." Aditi commented as she started to cry again.
"Is everyone awake?" Chris asked as if nothing happened. He began to count the contestants that remained. "Seventeen? I'm sure there were eighteen of you before that book opened."
Laverne woke up and looked at her team, immediately realizing that Laila was missing. "Oh god…"
"We're missing Laila." Jessica gasped. "I thought she would be here…"
"Well if she's missing, then sadly, we're gonna have to eliminate her." Chris shrugged. "For now."
Everyone gasped.
"Whoa…" Fridge widened his eyes.
Fridge (Ritter): He was scratching the back of his head, ashamed. "I feel bad now…"
Chris looked at everyone. "Dimetrius told me how you guys were faring out in that book. He says you guys did a pretty good job at changing the ending, even though it's pretty pointless now since the ending doesn't change a thing in the present."
Everyone was quiet.
"But he specifically asked me to send the Lystaris for elimination."
"What?" Wyonetta stood up, ready to throw hands.
"Not now, Wyo-lady. This challenge wouldn't have happened if a certain someone didn't bring the book with them on their own free will…" Chris answered. "And if a certain someone didn't open it." He looked at Tyler
Foster (Chevaliers): "I guess you better be glad that we aren't going to eliminate someone today, Tyler."
Elimination Ceremony #7
Chris stared at the dreaded yellow team. "I feel like it's been a while since I last saw you losers here. But either way, welcome back."
"Thanks." Wyonetta snorted.
The button eyed host downed a marshmallow. "Well you guys know the drill. Jace, Maelle, Rory, Sheldon, Summer, and Wyonetta, you will vote in that order. Whoever gets the most votes is out of the game and will never return. Ever."
"Oh no!" Sheldon gasped. Rory couldn't take it seriously and held back his laughter by snorting.
"Stop that, you guys are starting to sound like pigs." Chris grimaced. "Anyway, Jace, cast your vote."
He did as he was told and the voting commenced.
Lytsari Voting Confessional
Jace: "I'm not a huge fan of Sheldon, sorry dude. I just know that hockey chick will vote with me, right? I still don't get why everyone is mad at me for starting the challenge just because I made my own ending."
Maelle: "It was a tossup between Jace and Sheldon but as much as I dislike Sheldon's antics, he contributes way more. Apologies, Jace."
Rory: "I'm not voting on Sheldon since he's of huge help recently… Jace meanwhile… I haven't seen him at all other than… now."
Sheldon: "I even forgot that that writer guy was here."
Summer: "I don't want to vote for anyone. What if Jace ran away for a good reason?"
Wyonetta: "Bye, Jace." She noticed another piece of paper in the ground. "Or what if I can finally get rid of that guy who has an upside-down ramen bowl for hair."
As soon as Wyonetta exited the voting booth and joined the rest, Chris turned his attention to the marshmallows that were placed next to him. "Once your name is called, you can come and claim your marshmallow. Starting with…. Maelle. As usual."
Maelle caught hers without any expression on her face.
"Wyonetta. Shockingly no one has voted for you yet despite your attitude." Chris added.
The hockey player rolled her eyes, ignoring her marshmallow completely. "Tsk."
"Summer." Chris laughed. "Wow, another player who I thought would get a vote. To be fair, boring players tend to stay for a bit longer so…"
Summer scoffed. "Hey, I'm not bored! Not to mention, you did said 'come and claim it' and not 'sit and catch it.'" she pointed out, referring to the marshmallows.
"Rory." Chris said, ignoring the blonde. "Dang, why do the boring ones get to stay."
Sheldon cleared his throat. "It is because they have the statistics to become fan-favorites—"
"Says Mr. Bottom Two. Heh." the host snorted. "Let's move on. Jace and Sheldon, you two are in the bottom two. One because he started the challenge in the first place for unknown reasons plus disappearing, and the other one because he messed up and is a pain in the ass."
The two stared at each other.
"So that leaves us with this. Our 18th placer of Total Drama Knightfall is…"

"Freeze!"
Everyone turned to the source of the sudden scream. It was a police officer pointing a gun towards Chris.
"Whoa, what's this!" He asked/shouted. "I swear, I can explain all the messed up stuff that has happened recently—"
"Who among you here is Jace Bradley Hillcrest?!" the police officer interrupted him.
"Uh, him." Chris nonchalantly pointed towards the flabbergasted author without even putting much thought to the fact that doing so would potentially put them in danger.
"Arrest him!"
"Wait, what? What! What's going on!?" Jace panicked as he tried to resist but was bonked in the head by a cane which sent him on the floor and into the land of unconsciousness.
"Mr. Hillcrest is under arrest for suspicion of forgery and copyright infringement of the biography of the late Dimetrius Ranunculus Knightfall and illegal marketing of duplication of the said forged book." explained the police officer in one long sentence.
"Copyright? Auto? Forged? What!" Chris was just as confused as the rest of the cast now that he can no longer form any coherent sentences. Chris turned to Jace, who was on the floor. "Jace, that can't be true, right? I can't get sued for allowing criminals in my show!"
"Jace can't hear you, he's unconscious." Sheldon butted.
"I KNOW THAT, YOU SWINE—" Chris yelled at the bowlhead.
Sheldon shrunk. "You shouldn't have asked him that, then…"
The police officers began to take the unconscious Jace away. This caused the rest of the team to try and stop them.
"Hey wait! What the fuck!" Wyonetta shouted as the cast ran to them but the police officers stopped them by holding up guns.
"Stop right there!" One police officer shouted, threateningly pointing a gun at them before cueing all the officers to leave with Jace.
…
Chris had a really shocked expression on his face, but decided to end the episode just right there. "So uh… that's it. Now we're gonna have to deal with that… later."
When the police were nowhere to be seen, Chris hurriedly dismissed them. "So with that out of the way, What's gonna happen to our cast now? When will we ever get a break?" He snorted. "Guess that's it for Total Drama Knightfall!"

Author's note: I had such a hard time making this episode because this one gave me a major writers block then school happened and now me is in college so it kinda piled up until I forgot about Knightfall as a whole. I had to read the whole story again to get me back on track so if some characters and arcs aren't consistent, feel free to let me know in the reviews.
This episode was supposed to be a bit complex from the previous draft(s) but since re-reading them gave me the cringe factor, I decided to make things more… easy. So just one peek at the challenge and you'll probably guess who goes here. rip. I also decided to take away something that was supposed to happen in this episode but it will happen in the next update lol.
Shoutout to Nobody245 because the challenge was partially inspired by their story, Total Drama Dreamland! Do check it out, y'all.
Shoutout to BigBadBrad for submitting Jace and PurpleShadowManipulator for Laila.
Elimination Table:
22nd - Sua
21st - Naka
20th - Pierre
19th - Pandora
18th? - Laila (missing)
17th - Jace
Meaning behind the episode title: The original title for this episode was in Czech (Story of My Life in English) but since I forgot why it was in Czech after a year of this story being in the graveyard, I decided to change it lol.
Anyway the title is literally "Once Upon a Time '' in Latin. Why Latin? There's some sort of a connection between that and the story that the contestants had to "read'' through to get them across the challenge. The Latin in the title represents the story being about Dimetrius' 'death' (quoted because he's technically alive as a spirit), because Latin is a dead language. Do take note that it never showed if Young Dimetrius actually made it out alive in this episode.
The term Once Upon a Time is used primarily in stories. And how do stories exist? They are written. And guess who writes stuff? Yup, Jace. Now the big mystery is, was this really Jace's fault? Did he really cause this to happen just because he wrote his own interpretation of the ending? Why did he bring the book? And will Hector tell anyone else about what he found out? Remember that Lytsari only knows the gist of it thanks to the police.
Here are the summaries of the two book endings, one that was the real ending and the other written by Jace:
Real ending: No one diffused the bombs. Dimetrius still gets shot, dies, and the bombs explode after, killing everyone in the palace. (Location: Throne room)
Jace's ending: Dimetrius gets shot 3 times (3 was the passcode of the safe) and dies. The soldiers diffused the bombs themselves and made it out alive. (Location: Gallery)
Jace's fake ending was the ending that Dimetrius' biography states. And since most of the book's copies have that ending, people thought about it as "Dimetrius' assassination" and not "The Maze Palace Bombing." The real ending never came up, which was why Jace was arrested for illegally forging the book and duplicating it. But was he forced to do so or did he do it out of his own free will? That was what he never told Hector.
Also note that Dimetrius specifically chose Lytsari to be eliminated, despite Maelle actually stopping the assassination. Does this have to do with Jace? Did he let the challenge happen on purpose?
Now what about our "18th" placer, Laila? What happened to her? Where is she? Will she be the 18th placer for the entirety of Knightfall or will she come back and Jace will take her placement? What do you guys think will happen to Laila?
Not too many hints and tidbits here and there since we just got back to uploading, but anyway, next episode will answer a few more questions, though it's hard to decode it with the title per se. Can't say that much hints yet.
Dunno when the next ep will be up but it will come after another ode. As for Holiday Party, it's still on the works but it will take a while to finish it since it's been stuck halfway for like a year lmao.
See ya totes
