"Wait, Boq was Bonella?!" Milla shouts from the crowd.
"You were a guy!?" Shenshen screams now looking decieved.
"What is the meaning is this!?" Madame Morrible demands an explanation.
"Boq," Galinda asks as she steps forward sounding calm though horrified by what just happened. "What's going on?"
He took a deep breath looking around at the other people in the room before telling the truth.
"Well… The truth is… I ran to the girl's bathroom after class the other day and I got stuck. I couldn't make it out of the bathroom without getting humiliated by other students. But while I was in there, I overheard Miss Pfannee making plans to have Miss Elphaba and Master Fiyero split up so that she would go for him. As time went on it turned out to be much more than that. She plans to have her removed from campus. Not to mention the fact that also has done it before. It was Miss Pfannee who framed a few innocent students that were expelled from campus this and the past semester and would do the same to Miss Elphaba and Miss Galinda as well just so she can be the new school queen. I didn't think she would go that far as to pour some paint onto the headmistress and pin the blame on Elphaba so that she can be expelled from Shiz."
Everyone look over to Pfannee who was obviously shocked at the accusation.
She laughs it off. "That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard! You think that I would do such things! Why would I get students expelled and dump paint on Madame Morrible? And you were in the girl's bathroom!? That really proves what a stupid dumb Munchkin you are!"
"Hey!" Elphaba steps in angrily. "Don't you dare talk to my friend like that!"
She turns to Madame Morrible. "It's true Madame! Boq overheard Pfannee's plans and even went undercover as a girl to get answers."
Pfannee looked stunned.
The green girl looked back at her boyfriend. "Fiyero?"
Fiyero has his bag with him and he opened it only to find it empty.
"Fae. It's gone. The diary is gone."
"What? Where did you see it last?"
"It was on the table but I could've sworn I put it in the bag before. I don't remember-"
"Wait, you STOLE my diary!?" Pfannee's eyes widened angrily as she shrieked. "IM GOING TO REPORT YOU FOR STEALING AND BREAKING IN MY DORM!"
Elphaba snaps back at her, "Will you hush up for just a tick-tok? I only found it in my bag! I had no intentions of stealing anything from anyone, especially from you! And don't act like you don't know! Someone put it in my bag and I suspected it was you just to frame me!"
"Looking for this?"
A familiar voice made every single head turn to Galinda who is now holding Pfannee's diary.
"I found it on the table not too long ago and it was wide open," Galinda said sounding so cheerful before announcing. "Normally I wouldn't look into anyone else's personal things but I just couldn't help myself! Fellow students and faculty members, you all may know Pfannee, but she's not who we all think she is."
"What are you doing Galinda?"
The blonde ignores her and walks up to the microphone and asked Madame Morrible, "Mind if I approach the bench Madame?"
The headmistress was a little hesitant but steps aside anyways.
"Thank you," she said politely before stepping onto the platform and opens the diary before speaking into the microphone.
"Let's all do a little light reading, shall we? 'Entry number 1: Dear Diary, I am so glad I begged my parents to bribe Madame Morrible to send me to Shiz so that I can be with Galinda. I don't know how Galinda got in because she's so stupid. More stupid than the Animals in Oz. Of course every single student on this campus loves her and she's already popular. But I am going to change that! I have known Galinda since we were little because our parents are good friends with each other! She's actually the little princess everyone adores. Ugh! She keeps getting all the attention. If I were in her place, I would've gotten my own personal estate or castle and everyone would bow down to worship me! Well, I always have thought of this for a long long while. If I were going to be popular, even more than Galinda, then I have to become friends with her and only her just to know her secrets, use it to my advantage and take her down!'"
Everyone went silent except Pfannee who's face turns red. "Give it back Galinda!"
The blonde continues ignoring her and reads, "'Entry number 4: Dear Diary, there is this girl on campus that grosses me out. Like literally! She's green! Of course everyone hates her! But I personally despise her even more! She is a total freak to society! She along with some crippled wheelchair freak who was actually her sister. I heard that they are the daughters of the Munchkinland governor. Oh my Oz that is just pathetic!"
Nessarose looked really hurt and Elphaba was about to march to Pfannee but Fiyero held her back.
"She's not worth it love," Fiyero whispers in her ear and the green girl stopped resisting.
Madame Morrible tries to interrupt, "Miss Galinda, I think that would be-"
Galinda continues reading out loud, "'Entry number 11: Dear Diary, FIYERO TIGGULAR IS STUDYING AT SHIZ WITH US! I couldn't believe it! Once I saw him, I was planning to make my move, but of course that dumb blonde stole him from me. To be honest, they do make a stupid dumb couple. They are the perfect match after all. I mean, he is dumb but his looks are all that really mattered. And if their relationship doesn't work out, I will date him for my image and of course he will fall in love with me and make me his queen."
Fiyero just stares upset and Elphaba started to sense rising anger throughout her body.
"Miss Galinda-" Madame Morrible tries to speak but is interrupted again.
"Entry number 17: Dear Diary, I can't believe it! Galinda and the artichoke are FRIENDS?!'" Galinda reads. "'That is not going to happen! There is no way that she has the same exact idea as me! Galinda can't just leave me with those losers who are Milla and Shenshen! I was just being friends with them because they were Galinda's friends too! I cannot stand Milla because she's just a poor girl from Munchkinland and her dead grandmother loaned her family money to take over the estate in Gilikin. And Shenshen. Ugh, when will she ever stop gaining weight?! There are Elephants that are less bigger than her!'"
Milla and Shenshen couldn't believe their ears. Did she really say that about them?!
Pfannee faces her friends waving it off. "That wasn't me! Honest! GIVE IT BACK!"
She was going to storm onto the stage and steal the diary from her but Boq put his still wet painted arms around her waist restraining her leaving paint on her dress.
"Let go of me!"
Galinda continues, "Not done yet! 'Entry number 22: Dear Diary, you won't believe this but I just found out that Fiyero and Galinda broke up! I almost had a chance to get Fiyero to be my prince but to my horror, he's dating the FREAKING ARTICHOKE! Oh my Oz! How disgusting is that?! What does he even see in her?! She's the ugliest person in all of Oz and she doesn't deserve any love at all! Not even her own parents love her! And her sister is always embarrassed by her! Also another thing, I can't stand the thought of them having ugly green babies together!'"
Elphaba's heart shattered after the blonde read that out loud. She felt her blood boil in an increasingly large rate. Nessa who couldn't believe what she just heard looks over to her sister with a look that says "That's not true."
Fiyero wrapped his arms around her waist and hugged her tightly from behind whispering in her ear, "Just ignore it Fae. That's not true."
"I want to rip her to shreds," growled Elphaba darkly eyeing Pfannee who's trying to break free from Boq's grip.
Madame Morrible started to raise to voice. "That's enough Miss Galinda-"
Galinda continues speaking out loud glaring at Pfannee, "Still not done. 'Entry number 28: Dear Diary, enough is enough! That green girl has got to go! She is ruining everything! First she stole my only best friend and now my future husband too!? Of course I am planning how to get rid of her every chance I got! First I am going to spread rumors to have them break up and then I will have Madame Morrible expel her, I don't know how I can pull that off but when the time comes I make sure that it happens! I blackmailed Lewmond Temaddi for cheating on the exams even though it was me and I got rid of Keliza Sacrot by spreading rumors about her sleeping with several guys around campus just because she stole my ex boyfriend! I will personally do the same to Elphaba and later Galinda in the most sneaky way possible so they won't know that it was me.'"
A bunch of students gasped and Madame Morrible had a shocked look on her face. How could she do that to innocent students? Pfannee's face turned incredibly pale now knowing that she's finally trapped.
Just when it couldn't get any worse.
"And finally here's my favorite one," Galinda said smiling wickedly before turning the page and reciting the entry, "'Entry number 35: Dear Diary, I absolutely think this school should be only for the Gilikinese and not being overran by Munchkins and Quadlings. Vinkuns are fine by me but as for everyone else, they definitely don't belong here. Clearly Madame Morrible doesn't know how to run this school right. What kind of headmistress would let these outsiders stay on campus? I am so sick of seeing short people everyday and I hate the way they smell when they kept wearing their ugly old dirty uniforms! If I ever have a chance, I can have my parents send their money to Madame Morrible and bribe her to make this school be only for Gilikins. Or maybe instead I can turn the Munchkins and Quadlings against us by coming up with a some rumor instead. That'll make Madame Morrible enforce it! I gotta think of a plan.' Too bad you didn't plan it sooner Pfannee!"
Pfannee looks at all the offended students who all glare at her now in shock and anger. Milla and Shenshen looked heartbroken and betrayed. Nessa was clearly upset and a disgusted while Boq, Fiyero and Elphaba were shocked. They obviously didn't read the whole rest of the diary but that last entry was beyond crazy.
Madame Morrible stepped forward and questions with a frown, "Miss Pfannee? Is all of this true?"
Pfannee immediately shook my head trying to get out of this. "No, no, no! That's not me! That's not my diary! Clearly you have mistaken for someone else!"
It was Galinda's turn to speak. "Oh really?! If you claim that this isn't your diary, then why do you keep saying 'give it back?' Obviously it was yours. Besides, your name is in it, with your own handwriting!" She turns the book around pointing at her name on the front of the diary.
That was when Pfannee's face turn red and she started screaming, "Fine! It was me! I did it! I wrote all those things!"
"Why Pfannee!?" Milla yells. "You think we are not good enough for you?"
Pfannee starts to explain but her now ex-friend stops her. "You know what? Forget it! All the long we thought you were our friend!"
"But I am your friend! Please believe me," Pfannee tries explaining but Milla turns around not listening and Shenshen has tears in her eyes.
She turns to the blonde who stepped off of the stage. "Galinda! My best friend in the whole world! Please back me up here!"
"Oh I would," she replies coldly handing the diary to Madame Morrible who looked at the handwriting. "But unfortunately you wrote and said all those pretty unforgivable and nasty things and using my friendship with you to gain popularity. And you know what, you think that I am stupid but in reality, I was so stupid to ever be friends with you!"
Boq points out. "And not to mention the fact that you pretty much annihilated everyone else in this school especially the Munchkins and Quadlings because of your judgment toward them."
Fiyero then chimes in, "And you think I'm more well off with you than my girlfriend just because you think she is the ugliest person in all of Oz? Well she is not! She's the most beautiful girl in the entire school no matter what her skin color is. The only ugliest person standing in the ballroom right now is you!"
Pfannee gasped looking hurt and surprisingly all other students all agreed now disgusted.
"Miss Pfannee…" Madame Morrible said sounding very firm yet calm gesturing to the diary. "I have to say that this kind of behavior is very inappropriate and despicable especially toward other students. Even though disrespectfully exposing someone else's privacy is a violation against campus rules…" She trails off looking over to Galinda, Fiyero, Elphaba and Boq before her eyes went back to Pfannee continuing, "But this is beyond more than just one violation. Framing other students and having them expelled, offending other students, bribery, planning to have me expel my prized student by pulling this," she gestures to the paint canister which is still swinging back on forth before finishing her eyes glaring with anger and disgust. "And showing disrespect toward your headmistress from what you wrote clearly stating that I don't know how to run this school right!"
Pfannee tries to explain nearly stuttering, "Madame, I-I don't mean all that-"
Madame Morrible cuts her off. "Save it! Everything that has been written here is all the proof I needed to know. And with what you pulled tonight, I have no choice but to expel you. You are to come with me to my office. I'll be sure to notify your parents. After that, you are to clean up this mess. And furthermore, I expect to see you off campus tomorrow morning with your belongings.
Very shocked at the revelation Pfannee shouted, "This is a sick joke right!? Expelled?! You cannot do that!"
"I just did," the headmistress said very firm.
With angry tears in her eyes, Pfannee now rants finally letting her true colors come out. "IT'S NOT FAIR! Everyone gets to worship that blonde bimbo but not me! Even my darling parents love her! She thinks she can take the spotlight away from me! I am so sick of living in her shadow for sixteen years! I AM SICK OF EVERYONE GETTING THEIR WAY AND NOT MINE!"
"That will be ENOUGH Miss Pfannee."
She yells, "If I ruled Oz or just Gilikin, I would kick every other non-Gilikinese people out and segregate all the lands!"
She points to Elphaba. "And you're the one who should be expelled! You will never belong here. You will never belong anywhere! No one in this world loves you! This whole thing is your fault! Why don't you just do us all a favor and leave this world for good!"
With that she pushed her hard and Elphaba stumbles back until she crashed against the punch table making it collapse. The punch from the ice fountain splatters onto her dress and the ice fountain itself broke into pieces.
Everyone gasped and Fiyero immediately ran over to his girlfriend and helped her back up to her feet. After he helped her up she gently brushed him away and glares angrily at Pfannee hearing her heart pound really loudly ignoring all voices around her. The lights around the ballroom begin to flicker while the tables and chairs start to move on their own.
Fiyero sensed what was happening. He yells, "EVERYONE STAND BACK!"
With that everyone except Elphaba, Galinda, Boq, Nessa, Fiyero, Pfannee and Madame Morrible step back quickly screaming and clamoring until they are all against the wall knowing that she's going to have a full on Hurricane Elphaba-like magical outburst.
Elphaba only stares at Pfannee holding out her hand as her magic powers up.
The girl shrieks, "What are you doing to me to you freak!?"
It was then she realized that her feet can't feel the floor anymore. She looked down and noticed that she was floating in the air.
She starts screaming as Elphaba's eyes flare up bringing Pfannee closer to her looking like she was going to fling her across the room.
Madame Morrible sees what she thinks will happen and tries to coax her student. "Miss Elphaba, stop!"
Boq went to the green girl and says gently, "El, put her down. She's not worth it anymore."
Elphaba didn't listen as magic continues to crackle from her hands and Pfannee felt as if she couldn't move at that point. Galinda came over to try to get her best friend to come to her senses.
"Elphie!"
The headmistress tries to have Elphaba break free from the magical outburst with her own magic but failed. Her student is too powerful.
"PUT ME DOWN! NOW!" Pfannee screams trying to break free.
Elphaba roars at the girl furiously, "You think everything in this world is being brought to you on a silver platter!? You think you are better than everyone else!? You think they will bow down to you after everything you have said and done! You are the most spoiled, narcissistic, evil psycho I have ever met in my life! You disgust me!"
"Fae…" Fiyero says trying to get his girlfriend to calm down. "Just put her down."
"You hurt, disrespected and betrayed every single person in this room. You show no care and absolutely no remorse to anyone! Not even their own feelings! You only care about yourself!"
Her magic tightened up Pfannee who screams feeling like she tied up by a magical invisible rope.
"You deserve nothing! You are nothing to anyone! But a disappointment!"
Fiyero puts his hand on the green girl's shoulder. "Fae. Please stop!"
Elphaba blinked a few times snapping out of it realizing what she was doing. She gently put Pfannee down back onto her feet without hurting her. The lights stopped flickering and the tables and chairs stopped shaking as well.
Everyone in the ballroom, even Madame Morrible was surprised to see that Pfannee wasn't flung across the room. It seems that Elphaba has started getting better under control of her magical outburst.
Pfannee was still frozen stuck as Elphaba finishes, "Let this be a lesson to you. You mess with me or anyone else, I will do things so much more worse to you."
She released the spell and stumbles backwards only to be caught by Fiyero. Pfannee stumbled a bit too finally able to move again.
She screams to everyone in the ballroom, "You see why this is school is better off without her!? She's dangerous!"
"No she's not!" Galinda yells back at her ex-best friend. "If you ever showed even an once of compassion, none of this would be happening-"
"OH SHUT UP!"
Angrily Pfannee points her finger threateningly at Elphaba yelling, "You will pay for this you witch! My parents will hear about this and we will sue you!"
"You will do NOTHING of the sort!" Madame Morrible said raising her voice stepping forward to Pfannee. "You have done way more than enough Miss Pfannee!"
The headmistress looks at Elphaba who looks exhausted. "I'll take it from here Miss Elphaba." Her face turns to Pfannee and said with fury, "My office. Now!"
Madame Morrible had just left the ballroom and Pfannee was about to follow when Galinda stops her.
"Oh! And just one more thing."
Nobody in the ballroom thought what was going to come next. The petite blonde marched up to Pfannee and gave her a good hard slap on the face.
Everyone gasped and jeers as Pfannee cries, her hand raising to her stinging cheek where Galinda's pale hand made contact. Galinda looked satisfied.
"That's for sixteen years of our so-called friendship and lies!"
The girl just stood frozen stiff, shocked and humiliated.
"Just be grateful Elphie didn't hurl you across the ballroom."
The other girl glances at everyone else who are all now against her. She scowled at every one of them before storming out of the ballroom in defeat.
Concerned about his girlfriend, Fiyero asked, "Fae? Are you alright?"
She takes deep breaths before replying sounding tired. "I'm good. Just too much…"
Elphaba sways a little but Fiyero pulls her close holding her up. A powerful outburst like that really had taken a lot out of her.
"Come on green girl. Let's get some fresh air," Fiyero says gently putting her arm over his shoulder and looks over to the wheelchair bound girl. "Nessa, are you coming?"
She nodded wanting to leave as well. She wheels over to Elphaba to hold her hand who took it graciously.
"Are you coming Boq?" Asked the prince.
The Munchkin glanced at Galinda and Shenshen and shook his head. "You guys go ahead."
With that, the three left the ballroom. Now all students started to leave after the whole ordeal and Boq turned to Galinda, Milla and Shenshen knowing now is time to face the music.
He cleared his throat and said somewhat slowly, "Look. I didn't mean for any of this-"
"So… This whole time?" Shenshen says looking like she's close to tears, "The whole time- The whole time you were- THE WHOLE TIME!?"
Boq immediately says sounding apologetic, "Shenshen, please let me explain-"
"I thought we had something special! I was going to tell you that I love you!"
Tears started to fall quickly down her cheeks and she ran out the ballroom crying.
Galinda gave Boq a cold look before running off after Shenshen leaving him standing there alone in the ballroom with white paint all over him. He looks down depressed and puts his paint covered hands to his face now in tears himself.
Yeah, Galinda is kind of a savage in this chapter lol.
Hey y'all I hope you enjoyed this chapter! This one took me a MONTH to write! Obviously there was a lot going on in this one. There is only one chapter left and don't worry, it'll get better for Boq!
Anyways I have so many old ideas and new ideas flooding through my head and I'm trying my best to write them down though it's gonna take me time because of work and the play. It's bananas over here lol. But I am going to try to keep it going! Still working on Nessa's Birthday Wish and my other stories I just started on.
