Club 23 - Chapter XVII - The Time Has Come

Well…Well…Well, the time is finally upon everybody, well that's what the boys are calling it, it's time for Formal Proposals! Some failures, but some successful ones as well, Eric asking out Ariel with the rumors surrounding those two having a mutual interest in each other. Adam asked out Belle, much to the disgrin of Gaston, who wanted to ask her, but Belle wasn't that interested in him in the first place. Some go out as friends like in the case of Mulan and Shang, although they don't see each other going out, there have been rumors about them too. Meanwhile with the group, mainly the boys, they were doing some last-minute preparations on how they were going to ask their dates out.

"Alright guys, this is the day, four proposals, four successes", says Flynn

"I'll sure hope so", says Quasimodo, who was a bit nervous to ask out Madellaine

"Quasi, what's the matter?", Flynn went down to ask him

"It's just that…I haven't asked a girl out in a long time, I mean the last time I did…"

"That girl became your best friend", said Flynn finishing his sentence

"True"

"So, what's the issue?"

"The issue is that I want to be more than friends with her, I really like her personality and would love to get to know her better…that's all"

Flynn then took a seat with Quasimodo to discuss his problem

"Quasi, to be honest with you, I'm nervous asking Rapunzel out"

"Really?"

"I know, it doesn't seem like it, but it's just every time I see her, it's like my body just freezes and I don't know what to do"

"Is that the reason why Meg has been whispering to you whenever you're there with her?"

"Yep, but hopefully my body doesn't react like that when I ask her out as my date"

"Well…since we're talking about fears" Aladdin chimes in, "I'm afraid that everything won't go exactly to plan…What if Jasmine doesn't like the Jasmines?"

"Ali, I'm sure Jasmine is going to say yes to you, I mean you two pretty much talk all the time"

"Well, Flynn, this is just more than talk, this has the potential to be something life-changing", Aladdin takes a seat next to Flynn and continues, "I mean look at her… she wears all these nice clothes and wears jewelry that is out of this world expensive"

"True", says Flynn with Quasimodo nodding his head in agreement

"Then there's me…for lack of better words, I'm not rich", he continued his thoughts

"Ali", said Quasimodo, "I'm sure that Jasmine is not going to reject you because of your status, I'm…we're sure that she is going to say 'yes'"

"Thanks a lot, you guys, I really needed the confidence boost", said Aladdin

"No problem", said Quasimodo

"Any time, bud", said Flynn, "Phoebs, you need some more motivation?", he continued as Phoebus was the only one not sitting down

"Thanks, but, I need to remain focused," said Phoebus

"Why is that?", said Flynn

"Because, just like you three, I don't want to fumble this up, so I am channeling all my fear into motivation"

"Woah, take it easy, you're talking like you're going into battle or something?", said Flynn, while the rest of the boys chuckled

"Kinda am…with myself and my words"

"Well, good luck man", said Flynn

"Appreciate it as always," said Phoebus, just as he said that here comes Esmeralda with the rest of the girls in the group. Phoebus tried his best not to look nervous, but as she was inching closer and closer to him, it was getting very difficult not to do so. He decides to greet them all

"Greeting ladies, how'd go out in the hallway?", he said to all the girls implying that they were getting proposals from other guys

"Ugh…terrible", said Megara, "Some of them are very self-absorbed"

"So…Gaston"

"Yep", said all three of them

"Yeah, it's like they don't even try", said Pocahontas

"Well, that certainly doesn't sound like us guys here, we literally were thinking of ways of having a 100% success rate"

"Hmm", says Esmeralda sarcastically, "Well see about that, Ali you excited, nervous?", she said towards Aladdin

"Both, but more nervous, I just really hope it goes well"

"Me too, well actually all of us in fact," says Esmeralda with everyone shaking their heads 'yes', "How about you Phoebus, you excited to ask your mystery lady out?"

"Umm…sure, just hopefully everything comes to plan" he looks again into her eyes and smiles, and to his surprise, she smiles back

"Well good luck putting the plan in motion," said Esmeralda, "Anyway, I'm about to go meet with the dance club, so I'll see everyone later"

"Yeah see you later Esme", says Quasimodo knowing that Madellaine is in that same club

"Later Quasi", she says. After she says that everyone starts to leave to their own separate classes. Esmeralda starts to walk slowly than everyone in the group just so she can catch up with Flynn

"It's Not Ariel…nor Mulan…nor Belle", she talks low so only Flynn can hear her

"What?" Flynn says talking low as well, I mean I knew the first two names you named weren't it, but the third…"

"Is where I'm stumped on" Esmeralda finished Flynn's thought, "So, who could it be?" she continued

"I don't know", said Flynn, "Could it be one of you three?"

They both looked at each other with some thought

"Nah", they both said. Meanwhile, Quasimodo was left standing there behind Esmeralda and Flynn and then Esmeralda started to walk from Flynn, Quasimodo began to follow her until she got to the dance studio, which was a room that was on the second floor, third room to the right. Once Esmeralda got into the room to greet the other members, he took a peek at Madellaine and was star-struck at how beautiful she was, which only made Quasimodo even more nervous.

For the entire time, Quasimodo was just standing there, nervous as can be, thoughts were going through his mind about if this was a bad idea or if Esmeralda would get a bit jealous. That last one was a bit extreme, but you could tell that this was huge for him. The dance club was wrapping up and said a little word to himself before he went inside the room

"Welp…here goes nothing" and took a heavy inhale and exhale and went into the room. At first, nobody noticed him until Esmeralda was twisting and turning and caught a glimpse of Quasimodo at the entrance way, she didn't have any idea why he was standing there, so she stopped the music and spoke"

"Alright everybody, we're going to take a little breather", said Esmeralda to everyone and walked towards Quasimodo, "Hey Quasi, what's up, is it an emergency?"

"Well, yes and no, I just need to make an…announcement"

"Umm…sure, knock yourself out"

"Thanks" Quasi walked in and Esmeralda had gotten everyone's attention

"Umm…Hey everyone, my friend here has to make an announcement, so yeah pay attention"

Now with the whole club paying attention to him, Quasimodo is feeling nervous than ever

"Alright Quasi, the floor is yours", Esmeralda whispered to him while Madellaine waved hello to him and he waved back, with that gesture, he felt a little more ready and then he spoke

"Umm, hello everyone, I just wanted to come here and say a few words about a very special person."

This suddenly got Esmeralda intrigued, so as the rest of the club

"I really haven't done this in a while and probably would have never thought of doing something like this, until I met her."

Esmeralda is still intrigued and has never seen her friend this unpredictable meanwhile Madellaine is in the front smiling

"She reignited the spark that I had for being able to love someone, and for me, that means a lot. She's smart, funny, beautiful, and a great dancer and someone lucky that I have known for some time, in my eyes she's perfect"

Madellaine starts to blush a little, probably knowing what is about to happen. Quasimodo then pulls out a carving of a teddy bear holding a rose and Esmeralda has hands to her mouth with a smile hiding underneath, and the rest of the club starts to smile as well. Quasimodo continues to speak

"I know this wasn't a lengthy speech, but hopefully it was enough to show how much I care about her, Madellaine, will you be my date to the Spring Formal?"

The whole club waits in suspense for an answer, Madellaine on the other hand is filled with emotion. She takes her time, which makes Quasimodo even more nervous, but eventually she does respond

"Oh Quasimodo, I would love to be your date," she says, and the whole club cheers, with Esmeralda going like a complete lunatic jumping up and down. Quasimodo gives Madellaine the carving and they hug. Esmeralda calms herself down so she can dismiss everybody

"Alright…alright…everyone can go, see ya next time"

Everybody exits the room congratulating Madelliane and Quasimodo, Esmeralda decides to stop Quasimodo

"What was that?", she said smiling happily for her friend

Quasimodo smiled back, "I told you, I had to make an announcement"

"And an announcement you made!" she responded, hugging her friend, "I'm so proud of you Quasi, no wonder you were talking about her"

"Yeah, the first time we talked, I don't know, I felt something, and I guess just now, she felt something back"

"Well, I just hope that you two take good care of each other"

"We will"

"Now what are waiting for the champ, go see your girl", she said playfully pushing Quasimodo out of the room so he could walk with Madellaine. She laughed as he hurried to go and see her. Meanwhile downstairs in the hallway, Flynn was going to try and do the same as Quasimodo to Rapunzel, who was currently talking to Jasmine. Flynn was nervous, but not too nervous since he is Flynn. The plan in his head is to just be typical Flynn Rider, hopefully. As Flynn prepared to take on the hallway, he said one more thing to himself

"Well, Flynn…it's showtime"

Who else is glad that Quasimodo's Formal Proposal to Madellaine was a success, now what's going to happen with the other guys...especially Phoebus...find out soon. The next chapter should be out on the 5th or the 6th, so be on the lookout for that.
