Hey! Yarn Kitty here! I have another chapter!
As it turns out, I'm not finished with this story yet.
So . . . here's chapter 6!
The ranger's views . . .
Javi blinked away the blurry world swimming into view. Sunlight blinded his eyes.
After a few attempts to open his eyelids, Javi was able to lift his head. The other rangers looked really bored.
"What are . . . you guys . . . doing?" Javi managed to slowly ask the question.
The others looked at him, beaming and rushing over to him.
"How do you feel?" Izzy questioned, claiming the closest spot to him.
"Um . . . dizzy. Tired. And . . ." Javi thought for a moment, "everything hurts."
The rangers giggled.
"Now that you're awake, can you tell us what happened?" Zayto pressed.
"Huh?" Javi stared at his friends, confused.
"Like, what attacked you. Can you tell us what attacked you?" Ollie rephrased.
"I don't really remember. They were dinosaurs," Javi answered.
"Dinosaurs?" Amelia turned her eyes on the other rangers, fear slicing across her face.
The other rangers looked at each other in horror.
"Little dinosaurs," Javi replied.
"At least now we know this place isn't all safe," Izzy offered.
"Guys, we could die if we're not careful. Maybe it was a good thing Javi got attacked," Ayaan pitched in.
"Ayaan! Are you saying it was a good thing my brother was injured because of stupid dinosaurs?" Izzy snapped.
"No, I'm implying that it's good that we now know to be very careful around here. It's a good thing Javi isn't too badly hurt, but now we can see the dangers of this island," Ayaan retorted.
"Okay, okay," Amelia breathed. "We need to find somewhere less exposed to stay until we can find a way to get the heck off this island."
"Let's keep traveling. Since we're obviously on Isla Nublar,–that's the dinosaur island for those who didn't know–there's supposed to be a main street with food, water, medical supplies and shelter. We should try to make it there before nightfall," Ollie added.
"How are we supposed to transport Javi?" Izzy wondered.
"We can help him walk. Two of us can support him while he walks," Amelia pitched in.
"And if we have to run from a dinosaur?" Ayaan queried.
"Let's hope that doesn't happen," Zayto responded.
Izzy and Zayto slung each of Javi's arms over their shoulders and they prodded along the green jungle landscape.
It was a few hours before the rangers stopped for a break.
"Guys, I'm starving," Izzy said.
"Me too," Javi added.
"We should find some fruits or berries to eat," Amelia offered.
"Two of us should go, just in case something happens," Zayto recommended.
Amelia and Ollie decided to gather some fruits to snack on. They weaved their way through the trees before something odd caught their attention. A campsite?
Amelia gasped as she noticed humans walking about this campground.
"Are those–they can't be–can they? Humans? What?" Amelia stuttered.
Ollie's eyes were wide in fear, but he was speechless.
"You don't think they're captors, or prisoners do you?" Amelia gasped.
"No I . . . think they're just teenagers trying to survive," Ollie suggested.
"C'mon, Ollie. We have to tell the others."
"For what reason?"
"They could be dangerous."
"Or they could be friendly and share their home with us."
"Whoever they are, can we at least tell the others so we can explore them together?"
"Oh, fine."
Ollie and Amelia sprinted back to the others.
"Guys, what's wrong? Did a dinosaur chase you?" Izzy whipped her head from side to side, searching for a predator.
"No, no, no. Nothing like that," Amelia panted.
"We saw a campground. An active campground," Ollie informed.
"What do you mean?" Zayto spoke.
"Guys . . . we're not alone. There are others surviving like us," Ollie responded.
"You mean other people?!" Izzy shouted.
"Yes, other people," Amelia clarified.
"Well, they could help Javi!" Izzy recommended.
"Or, they could be spies," Amelia butted in.
"Amelia, not everyone is bad," Ollie retorted.
"How many were there? And, how old were they?" Zayto questioned.
"I saw . . . two teenagers around fourteen years old," Ollie replied.
"Well, if they're that young, then we could take them if they're not good people. We should give it a shot," Zayto agreed.
Amelia rolled her eyes and crossed her arms, but didn't say anything.
The six rangers helped Javi up again and followed Ollie and Amelia to the campground.
After a bit of spying, the rangers finally emerged from the bushes and confronted the campers.
The campers' views . . .
Darius was observing some reptiles for his field guide while Brooklynn and Kenji were attempting to dig up some old mysterious box. Sammy was still wondering about the surge of energy while catching up with Yaz,and Ben was just chilling with Bumpy.
A noisy rustle in the bushes caused all campers to look up from their activities.
They all gathered around the patch of trees that contained the rustling but kept their distance in case of a dinosaur attack.
Out of the bushes came six tall teenagers.
"What the heck!" Darius screamed as he stumbled backward, dropping his stick.
"Who are you?" Brooklynn scowled, using a calmer tone.
Sammy barreled into Yaz. Ben and Kenji scowled menacingly, Bumpy at their tails.
"What do you want with us?" Ben yelled, angry and confused.
"We–" Izzy was cut off by her own confusion. "Ollie, you said you saw two. There are six of them with a ten foot long dinosaur."
"Wait–you've been spying on us?" Brooklynn whipped her stick over her shoulder, preparing to whack them all in the face.
"No–we were sent here for some unknown reason just a day ago, and we don't know why or how we were sent to dinosaur island," Izzy stated.
"Wait, you've encountered dinosaurs?" Darius wondered.
"He did," Ayaan gestured to Javi. "He's been like this since he was attacked."
"Attacked by what?" Darius continued to ask.
"We don't know. He said he confronted little dinosaurs, whatever that means?" Ollie shrugged.
"Compsignathus. He encountered a compsignathus," Darius confirmed.
"A what?" all the rangers inquired at once.
"Nevermind," Darius said.
"Can you help him?" Izzy pleaded, lifting Javi a little. "We promise we want no trouble. Just a little help."
The campers exchanged glances.
"Sure, we'll help. But you better not be wanting anything to do with us besides needing our help," Darius agreed.
The rangers nodded.
"Wait, how long ago did you say you got here on death island?" Sammy offered.
"About a day and a half ago," Ayaan responded. "Why?"
"Just curious," Sammy continued. "And how?"
"Well we traveled through a ti–" Ayaan was cut off by Amelia.
"We got here by a . . . a helicopter. Yes, we got here by helicopter."
"Oh . . ." Yaz furrowed her brows, unconvinced.
"Well, we'll take him from you," Darius and Kenji took Javi over to the second deck and laid him down on the couch, examining his cuts and bruises.
After they bandaged up his wounds, Darius and Kenji hopped down from the deck.
"His injuries are kind of deep and maybe fatal, but he surprisingly seems fine," Darius confirmed.
"Can we see him," Izzy pleaded.
"He's sleeping. Maybe you shouldn't disturb him," Kenji offered.
The rangers sighed.
"Hey, can we look around your campsite? It's really cool," Zayto acknowledged.
"Oh thanks," Brooklynn shrugged. "We built it ourselves after the indominus attacked. It's kept up alive ever since."
"The what?" the five rangers asked in unison.
"The indominus. Only the biggest hybrid to walk this island," Yaz pitched in. "You mean you never heard about it? It destroyed this island nearly four months ago."
"The indominus is a dinosaur?" Ollie questioned with a shaky voice. "Is it still alive?"
The campers shared confused glances.
"It was killed by the mosasaurus on main street, which was also destroyed by the t-rex," Ben offered. "I hardly ever saw mainstreet after I 'died'," Ben quoted.
"What?" Izzy gasped, terrified. "You died? Then why are you still here?"
"Oh, well I fell off a monorail sixty feet in the air. My friends thought I died until I came back to them alive," Ben proudly responded.
"My gosh," Izzy breathed in disbelief.
Amelia and Ollie sunk to the ground, clutching their chests in fear.
"What's the matter?" Brooklynn questioned, rushing to their aid.
"We just . . . thought there were only little dinosaurs on this island. You know, more harmless ones like the one that attacked our friend over there," Zayto gaped in disbelief.
"Oh, no. There are millions of big dinos roaming this island, lurking every corner," Brooklynn said, as if intending to scare the newcomers.
Izzy began to weep while the others were fighting tears.
"So . . . why are you guys not scared?" Amelia queried. "Well, I guess you've experienced quite a bit already, being here for two to three weeks I'm assuming?"
"Um, no. We've been here for four months, surviving this ratchet island. We've each got strengths and weaknesses that helped us live," Darius stated.
This comment sent Amelia to tears.
Nightfall came and the campers offered the rangers a place to sleep, still clueless about the fact that they were rangers.
Within a matter of minutes, six rangers were dozing off.
"Guys, come over here," Sammy whispered to her friends.
The campers followed the Texan to a concealed area.
"There's something fishy about that gang," she started.
The other campers looked at her with confusion.
"They seem just fine to me," Darius disagreed.
"Well, sure. They're nice, but when I asked them how they got here, they kind of lied. They were hesitant about telling me. And when that kid was about to tell me the truth, he was cut off by the girl and she hesitated in looking for a lie."
"I don't know, Sammy. They seem just fine," Kenji pitched in.
"Did we learn nothing from Mitch and Tiff? I'm telling you, they're up to something!" Sammy raised her voice a little.
"It's okay, Sammy. I think we're all just tired," Yaz took Sammy's arm and pulled her to bed with the other campers.
"Yaz, don't you think I'm right?" Sammy pleaded, hoping her best friend was still on her side.
Yaz bit her lip. "Let's just get some sleep."
It was a few hours before sleep came, but eventually, six campers and six rangers were dozing off together.
That's chapter six! I made it longer than usual. I hope you enjoyed it!
Chapter 7 should be released in a few weeks if I'm not too distracted.
Thank you for reading! Please review!
