Six weeks and two days had passed since Aphrodite's birth; she had the physique and mentality of a young toddler, and was starting to babble simple words. She never left Nova's sight for too long; due to the fact that every moment with Aphrodite was precious. Time terrified everyone…
Well, almost everyone.
SPRX was looking forward to the moment when maybe things could go back to normal, or at least back to before Aphrodite came into existence.
He despised that child. He couldn't go into a room with his other teammates without one of them talking about Aphrodite in some way. And he couldn't see the girl he loved without that furball being clinged onto her, taunting him.
He winced in disgust when he heard Aphrodite's squeals of delight and Nova laughing with her. How could she be so happy when that terror ruined every thing?
"Meeting in the foyer." The radio voice of Chiro said in a very ecstatic way. SPRX sighed, he had better toughen up for the time being and hold his tongue.
"Just go to the meeting, and leave when it's over…" he told himself.
Upon entering, everyone's eyes went to him, and then back towards the front at something that was covered with a sheet; he noticed he was the last to arrive.
"Great!" Chiro exclaimed, "Now that SPRX is here, Gibson…tell everyone what you discovered."
"Well, not quite discovered; it's more of a solution that's still being developed…" Gibson paused for a moment, before continuing.
"I've been trying to find the cause of Aphrodite's growth to no avail…she has no sign of mutation. Minus the rapid maturation she's basically a healthy, normal monkey. However, with Antauri's help, we've been looking for a solution that will…assist…that's when I thought about it…we're robot monkeys…so…" He pulled the sheet revealing some robotic monkey parts. "When Aphrodite matures into adulthood, Antauri and I can get to work assembling her into her parts. The development of her parts should be finished by then as well!" Gibson exclaimed proudly.
SPRX's eyes lowered down in defeat. So things wouldn't go back to normal; that terror will be around forever. He would have to look at her everyday and be reminded of his pain.
"What do you think, Aphrodite?" Nova began, "You're gonna be a robot! Just like mama!"
"Mama, bot?" Aphrodite asked, not quite understanding what was going on.
"Yeah, mama's a robot!"
"I bot?" Aphrodite asked, pointing to herself.
"No…" SPRX began coldly, " You're not a robot." He looked up, taking a few steps towards Nova and the toddler monkey.
"Take a look around, little girl! We're …" He motioned to the other monkey, "Robots! And we …" He motioned to everyone in the room "have powers…but you …" he pointed his finger to Aphrodite who looked at it in fear, "You are an ABOMINATION!" Aphrodite began to tear up before crying into her mother's chest. Nova started shushing her, shocked at SPRX's outburst.
"SPRX!" Chiro scolded, but before he could get another word out.
"Take a look around, kid…everything was fine until she came into existence. And now, every one is losing their heads trying to pacify the monster ." SPRX motioned his hand towards Aphrodite after the word monster.
"I-it's not her fault!" Nova exclaimed, looking up from her crying child. SPRX looked at her with cold eyes.
"It's not her fault…no…" he pointed his finger at Nova, "It's yours , you…" he stopped himself from finishing his insult. He groaned and walked out of the foyer towards his quarters. Nothing else was heard in the foyer except for Aphrodite's sniffling and sobbing.
"Monster?" Aphrodite asked a moment later through tears, "I a monster?"
"Oh! Oh no, sweetheart!" Nova shockingly exclaimed in a comforting way, holding her child tighter. "You're not a monster! You're my everything!"
The rest of the team surrounding Nova and Aphrodite in comfort was seen on the screen of a lair. A sinister smile was felt in the presence of the lair.
"Excellent." The sinister voice began, "Part two of my plan commenced earlier than expected…"
"Couldn't we start the plan early, then?" Another voice asked.
"Patience…" The sinister voice from before stated, "All great things come…with patience."
