A/N: This chapter is where I describe where each of the Shadow's live. Please enjoy. ALSO! I am returning to this in 2023 but most of this chapter is from 2014.

~Dark Shadow~

On a cold morning in Hyrule, a small child was left in front of the Palace of Wind. The small child had dark purple hair and eyes the color of freshly polished rubies. The boy's mother was hidden in a black robe, she was weak and dying. Vaati just so happened to come outside at just the right moment.

"Please..." the mother whispered, "...take my son and raise him to be powerful like you..."

Vaati did not get a chance to reply because the mother passed on. Vaati looked at the baby disgustedly, and he turned, about to slam the door leaving the child to die. Something, however, made him change his mind. It was that upside down, black, equilateral triangle on the boy's left hand.

The boy had potential. Vaati then scooped up the baby swaddled in black cloth and brought him inside.

Years had passed and the young boy, who was named Dark Shadow, became a thief. Dark Shadow learned how to nab things and bring them to his father on command.

He always tried his best to please Vaati, but Vaati never gave Dark Shadow the respect he deserved. At night, Dark Shadow would stand by a window and daydream about what life away from Vaati would be like.

One time, Dark Shadow had asked, "Vaati? What ever happened to my mother?"

"Dark Shadow, first of all, call me father, second of all, that is not at all important. So, go to your room or something! Shoo, shoo!" Vaati responded. Dark Shadow had obeyed.

~Emerald~

This young child, with dark purple hair and eyes like freshly polished emeralds, wound up in the Lost Woods, not far from Kokiri Village . He laid there on the forest floor, so young and vulnerable. Suddenly, a short girl with green hair walked into that part of the woods and found him. This girl was Saria, the sage of the woods.

Saria brought the boy to the village and named him Emerald of The Forest, Emerald for short. Emerald did not have a fairy because he was not a Kokiri, but he never wished to have a fairy. Emerald grew up with more skills than the Kokiri, he was able to wander the whole Lost Woods and never get lost. He also took lots of notes about the creatures he saw.

Whenever the Kokiri tried to tease him he was able to shoot smart remarks at them. Having the sage of the forest as his mother really proved to have an effect on his wits.

~Cross bones~

The boy who transformed himself into a dog lived very close to Dark Shadow and Vaati without realizing it. Cross bones made himself at home inside one of the secret passage ways to the inside of the Palace of Winds. There he pretended to be a guard dog. He still had no feet, but it didn't bother him.

Once in awhile, Cross bones would slip out of the Palace of Winds and take a quick walk. His favorite place was Lake Hylia where he got water to drink, he also would search for people who had food on them. Life as a dog was hard for him, but that didn't stop him. Not much actually happened to him in the time.

~Shadow~

Shadow now lived inside a dark house that was actually in the woods, meaning that he wasn't very far from Emerald, but the two never met. Shadow stayed inside the house all day and only went out after dark if at all. Nobody ever knew he was there and he never bothered interact with anyone. As a result, he started to go insane.

Despite this, Shadow had secret knowledge that nobody else knew… Perhaps he could be an ally of sorts, but maybe not. One day, on a night time walk, Shadow accidentally encountered another person! Scared, he fled back to his house and promised himself he would never leave again. However, the person who saw him followed him and found out exactly where he lived.
