Present Day
Location: Naboo
Aurora's POV
I sighed as I placed my two daggers in my belt. Right after I practically fought with Alex to let me go to Theed, we eventually arrived there, just in time for the Festival of Light. I'll be honest, the festival is cool, but right now, I couldn't be focused on Palpatine's stupid speech, or the idea that he might be killed tonight, I had one job, and one job only. Kill Rako Hardeen.
Alex, who was posing as one of the onlookers for the festival (unknown to the Jedi Council), was watching Palpatine's speech, while he was secretly looking to kill Cad Bane. After he found out what Bane did to me on Correllia, and with the holocron, Bane stabbing me again was practically icing on the cake for Alex to get back to his routes in killing people. We kept in contact with each other through the coms system Geenine provided us with, so if we saw anything out of the ordinary, we'd let each other know.
While Alex was watching the ceremony, I on the other hand, was lurking through the rooftops of Theed, looking for Hardeen. As he is known for his sniper skills, I knew Bane would want him stationed somewhere high. As the chancellor started to set up for his speech, I spotted an open window, which led to a balcony, where I noticed a suspicious figure setting up. That's when I knew I found him.
"Alex." I began as I brought my right wrist up to my face. "I found him. Keep your eyes on the lookout for Bane."
"Copy." He replied. "Do you need backup?"
I rolled my eyes as I started to walk across the rooftop and jump onto the roof where Hardeen was.
"I can't believe you just asked me that." I murmured before shutting off the com.
I slowly climbed down from the roof and entered the roof where Hardeen was setting up. He was on the balcony, and I quickly hid behind a crate so he wouldn't notice me. I pulled out one of the daggers from my belt, so when he'd get close enough to me, I could kill him with ease. Eventually, he came into the room, but turned his back to fix something on his sniper riffle, and just as he turned to do so, I kicked him to the ground, pinned him down, put him in a choke hold, and placed the dagger to his neck.
He grunted and tried to push me off of him, but the grip I had was strong enough so he could try all he wanted to…but it wouldn't work.
"You don't know me." I practically gritted through my teeth. "But I know you…and you murdered…someone who was very important to me."
He tried to say something, but I couldn't understand what he was saying…he probably was pleading for his life…but I didn't care. I pushed the dagger to his neck a little more.
"I want you to suffer, just like how I suffered when he died…I want you to feel the pain I did, I want you to die a slow and painful death…begging for me to just finish the job." I continued.
"Au…Aurora…it's m…me." Hardeen pleaded.
I frowned. No, there's no possible way. I had a feeling that this could be possible, due to how shady the Jedi Council are, but there's no way this is true.
"I don't believe you." I gritted through my teeth, as I tightened my grip.
"Wh..y…did…y…ou…take…my starfighter?" He rasped out.
My eyes widened and I gasped as I got off of him. It was true…he was alive. I felt a million emotions wave through me. The man who I considered to be my father was alive and well. I was happy, sad, and angry all at the same time. I felt tears well into my eyes. As soon as he got up from the floor, I walked over to him and practically calapse in his arms. That's when I started to cry.
"It's ok, Aurora." Obi-Wan began. "You're alright."
"I thought…" I rasped out in between my tears. "I thought you were…"
"I know." He replied. "I'm sorry."
I broke away from the hug, and my sadness and happiness turned into straight anger. I punched in in the shoulder. It must've been hard because he took a step back from it.
"That hurt." He began.
"YOU SON OF A BITCH!" I screamed. "YOU LIED TO ME!"
He put both of his hands up. "Aurora, calm down."
"I MOURNED YOU! MY BROTHER MOURNED YOU! MY MOTHER WAS DEVISTATED AT YOUR FUNERAL! I'VE NEVER SEEN HER CRY SO HARD!" I screamed.
He sat down on the crate I hid behind. "I know." He simply replied.
"Why didn't you say anything?" I ask in confusion.
"I was on an undercover assignment…I'm working with Eval, and Bane to 'assassinate' the Chancellor…little do they know that I was speaking with the Council the entire time." He explained.
I crossed my arms and began to pace. "You could've called me."
He shook his head. "They are working for Dooku…and I know Dooku wants you dead."
I immediately stopped in my tracks. I slowly turned around to look him in the eye.
"How do you know Dooku wants me dead?" I asked in confusion.
He gave me a small smile. "Because I know that Death Watch gave you to him."
My eyes widened. "You knew?"
"Please." He began. "I was the one, who told Cid, to send you to Coruscant for information on the Holocron. I asked Anakin if I could borrow Artoo for an assignment, and I told him to capture you. I only acted surprised when you got your helmet removed by Anakin to fit in with the plot."
I shook my head in disbelief. "You should've been an actor."
"I would be shot at less." He explained as he stood up and walked toward the balcony. "Now, come on and help me spoil Dooku and Bane's plans."
I rolled my eyes and followed him out to the balcony. Eventually, the festival started, and the fireworks began, which is when Obi-Wan called Windu over his coms.
"Mace, so far, so good." He explained, but Windu didn't reply, probably to keep his cover. A few seconds later however, he called Windu again.
"East side, the Security guard on the stairs." Obi-Wan explained again and the next thing we knew, and explosion happened which caused the ray-shield surrounding the Chancellor to be deactivated.
"Do you want me to engage?" Alex asked over my coms.
"What do you think, you idiot?" I replied.
Obi-Wan, who was still disguised as Hardeen gave me a weird look.
I put my hand up. "Ask me later."
The next thing I knew, Obi-Wan fired at something, and when he went to fire at it again, the gun jammed.
"Blast! It's only good for one shot." He explained.
"That's usually how Dooku operates." I explained. "One chance to do it, if not, you're dead."
"Mace, Derrown's down, but I don't see Bane anywhere." Obi-Wan explained over the coms to Windu.
"Alex." I began. "Do you have eyes on Bane?"
"As of right now…no. The guy with the purple lightsaber tried to kill me though." Alex explained.
I put a hand to my forehead. "Alexsandr…"
"What? With all due respect I don't blame him, I'd be worried about me too…I mean, where would you find an assassin this good looking?" Alex cockily replied making me angrily shut off my coms.
Obi-Wan gave me a look that spoke a thousand words and I just shrugged in response.
"Do I want to know?" He asked.
I shook my head. "No."
"Do I get to meet him?" He asked.
"I don't have a choice, do I?" I asked.
He shook his head with a small smile. "No."
Just as he turned back to his rifle, he spoke into his coms again. "The Chancellor. The guard escorting him, is a bounty hunter!"
"Please tell me it's not a blonde-haired blue-eyed man." I said to him with annoyance.
"No." He replied.
"Now I get why Alex took up smuggling, way less action than this." I quietly murmured.
Obi-Wan then ran off the balcony and started running down the stairs to the speeder platform, as he was going to go after the 'real' Chancellor, Bane, Eval, and Dooku. I heard him speak into his coms to Windu before he ditched me on the platform. Asshole, but he probably did it so it wouldn't be that suspicious. Bane thinks I'm dead, and Dooku want's me dead. I quickly hacked into my coms so that Anakin, could pick me up on his way to Bane. Surprisingly, when he got to the platform I was on, he had Alex, and Windu in tow.
"Hi boys." I said with a small smile "Mind if I get a ride?"
"The more the merrier." Anakin replied with a smile. "I'm guessing you know?"
I nodded. "Makes me want to kill him even more."
Eventually the four of us made it where the Chancellor, Eval, Bane, and Obi-Wan were, and we all drew our weapons. I immediately walked over to Bane with both of my blasters drawn.
"Miss me?" I smirked as I stood over him.
"Blondie, how are you still alive?" Bane groaned.
"It takes a lot more than a stab wound to kill me…you should know that by now." I smirked as the Clones cuffed him.
"Princess Kryze?" The Chancellor said in disbelief.
I put my blasters back into my holster and turned toward the Chancellor.
"Chancellor, it is good to see you alive and well." I replied with a monotone. I gestured to Alex. "This is my partner on this case, Alexsandr Vizsla."
Alex nodded. "Chancellor."
The Chancellor didn't reply as Anakin pulled him aside to speak with him.
"Good work." Alex explained with a smile.
"You too." I smiled back.
Alex pointed to Obi-Wan who was still disguised as Hardeen. "Is he a good guy now?"
I laughed and shook my head and gestured for him to follow me.
"Alex, I want you to meet Obi-Wan, he doesn't really look like this, he looks ten times older." I began making Obi-Wan frown. "Obi-Wan, this is Alexsandr Vizsla, the idiot who I was talking to on my coms."
Alex shook hands with him. "It's a pleasure to meet you general."
"Likewise." Obi-Wan replied. "Vizsla, as in Pre-Vizsla?"
Alex nodded. "Yeah, unfortunately he's, my dad."
Obi-Wan looked at me and I smiled.
"Don't worry." I began. "He's been exiled from Death Watch longer than I have."
The next day, after getting thanked privately by the Queen of Naboo for saving the Chancellor, Alex, Geenine, and I were on a landing strip, as I was going to say goodbye to Alex for helping me with this job.
"See, wasn't this fun?" I asked with amusement.
"Oh yeah." He sarcastically replied. "Getting shot at was so much fun."
I laughed. "Admit it, you missed this life."
He smiled. "For a few minutes, I did. It felt kind of refreshing to be on the good side rather than be on the bad side…when for years we both thought the opposite."
I nodded. "I know right."
Just then, Obi-Wan, still disguised as Hardeen, practically sprinted towards us making Alex gesture to him sprinting down the landing pad.
"Thank god, your both still here." He began. "We have a problem."
"What is it?" Alex asked.
He held up a device in his right hand. "Dooku was listening to this entire time…it was all a trap."
My eyes widened before Alex, and I sprinted along with Obi-Wan in the direction of the palace. As we began sprinting down the various hallways within the palace, I started to hear sounds of lightsabers crashing together in the distance, thus meaning that Dooku and Anakin were fighting. When we had eyes on Anakin, he was slowly getting off the ground.
"Are you alright?" I asked as we helped him off the ground.
"Come on." He said gesturing in the direction Dooku took the Chancellor.
Eventually, we all made it to a landing pad, where Dooku was bringing the Chancellor on his ship. Obi-Wan and I took down the droid, Alex grabbed the Chancellor, and Anakin distracted Dooku for as long as he could, before the five of us were pushed by Dooku using the force onto the landing pad.
"Well done Master Kenobi." Dooku began. "You are a worldly advisory. I cannot say the same about your young apprentice. And Princess Kryze, you may have broken your deal with Pre-Vizsla, but not with me, the next time I see you, will be your last day alive."
And just like that, the hatch door closed, and he was off.
I sat up from my position on the ground. "He really grows on you, doesn't he?"
"Not now Ro." Anakin murmured.
Eventually, the Chancellor, was once again escorted to safety, but this time, we put heavy guards around him, not just Anakin. As soon as everything was settled, we all headed back to Coruscant, where Obi-Wan got transformed back into himself again, and I got checked on again by the doctors in the infirmary, under the watchful eyes of Alex, of course. He hadn't left my side since we arrived on Coruscant as he was concerned, I pulled my stiches…that of course didn't happen. So once again, myself, Geenine, and Alex, were all on a landing pad, saying goodbye to each other.
"So...I have to admit, this actually was kind of fun." He finally admitted.
I laughed. "I knew it! Sometimes you need a little adventure."
He nodded. "You're right. I'm going to miss this."
I nodded. "Me too."
Geenine beeped in agreement.
Alex nodded. "Take good care of my droid."
I stepped closer to him. "You mean my droid."
He pulled me into a tight hug, which I returned.
"Take care of yourself Ro…I mean it." He warned me. "Don't go doing anything stupid. Don't go jumping out of ships, don't go trying to take assassins on yourself, and please, please, please, stop getting stabbed."
I smirked. "No promises."
He rolled his eyes before getting in his ship and taking off. Geenine beeped in sadness.
"I know, I'm going to miss him too, but he'll have to come back at some point." I explained to her.
She beeped in confusion.
I smirked and pulled something out of my back pocket. "I stole his favorite dagger…it'll take him a while to realize it, but he'll be well into the Outer Rim when he realizes it."
Geenine beeped in amusement, and I laughed in response. Just as I was walking back inside the temple, I got a beep on my holodevice from my brother. I hit the enter button allowing for a holographic picture of him to appear.
"What is it Korkaran?" I ask in confusion.
"He's dead." Korkie began. "They're all dead."
"Who's dead?" I ask in more confusion.
"Crashun…he's whole army is dead, including him and his wife." He explained.
My eyes widened. "How? According to him his army was practically unbeatable."
"Separatists bombed his entire compound on Dxun…got tips from Death Watch spies that were a part of his group." He continued. "They bombed him at a vulnerable time…his entire army was at that compound…some sort of speech he was making."
I nodded. "Were there any survivors?"
He nodded. "Barron…he wasn't there, he was on Concord Dawn. He's staying with us now…Mother insisted."
I nodded but didn't reply. I was sad that Barron had lost practically his whole family in the attack, but at the same time, after everything Alex told me about what Crashun was trying to do, I wasn't sad. Crashun wanted to conquer world's that once belonged to Mandalore in the time of the Old Republic…which today, wouldn't be possible. He wanted to be a supreme ruler of the Mandalorian system…which again, wouldn't be possible. Or at least, I wouldn't let it happen.
"Thanks for letting me know." I explained to him. "I'll be home within the next rotation."
Korkie nodded before ending the call. Geenine moaned.
I nodded. "Yeah, I know, my life is insane. Time to let the Council know that there's vulnerability on Onderon for the Republic and the Rebels to take control again…now that the Mandalorian regime isn't attacking them."
She moaned as we walked back inside, knowing that this new information could potentially lead to Onderon finally becoming free from Separatist control, or leading it to its downfall.
