Lieutenant Hammerman held onto the kid with one arm and the other onto his cap as he went through a black inky portal, and he could not see anything except feeling the child close to him and his hat.
Lieutenant Hammerman's heart raced as they plunged into the unknown, the surreal engulfing darkness of the portal swirling around them like a cosmic storm. The eerie quiet within the vortex starkly contrasted with the chaotic battle they had just escaped.
His grip tightened reflexively around the child, ensuring her safety was paramount amidst the uncertain venture ahead. The familiar weight of his cap against his head brought a flicker of normalcy, a grounding element amidst the surreal transdimensional voyage they found themselves entrapped in.
His seasoned mind raced to grasp the enormity of the situation. Yet, his military-honed instincts kept his resolve steely, ready for whatever awaited them on the other side of this enigmatic trespass. Suddenly, the exit from the portal appeared and perked Lieutenant Hammerman's attention, preparing himself for the upcoming exit.
He was suddenly flung out from a puddle on the ceiling and free-fell for a moment, and the sudden ejection from the portal caught Lieutenant Hammerman off guard. The brief sensation of weightlessness was both disorienting and exhilarating.
As gravity yanked at him, he rapidly twisted his body, switching from back to front in a desperate bid to assess and react to the impending threat. His eyes caught sight of a lurking, dripping figure below. The milliseconds stretched infinitely as he braced for impact.
The collision was as abrupt as it was shocking, his body smacking against the mysterious creature with a thud that echoed through the oddly silent realm they found themselves in. Adrenaline surged through his veins, his combat instincts kicking in immediately.
The creature he landed on emitted a gurgle-like noise of pain after the impact and squirmed around, thumping down what looked like a wooden hallway with items around while Lieutenant Hammerman held onto both the child and whatever he had landed on as it was attempting to reach behind to feel what was on its back.
Amidst the chaos, Lieutenant Hammerman's grip tightened on the child, ensuring her safety was paramount. His other arm clung onto the writhing creature beneath, its gurgles of pain echoing through the eerie hallway.
The creature's frantic movement through the seemingly endless wooden corridor jarred every bone in his body, yet his grip remained unyielding. His eyes darted around, taking in the unusual scenery whizzing by, trying to formulate a plan amidst the escalating surrealness.
The creature's desperate attempts to reach behind and touch what had landed on its back were futile, as the Lieutenant's hold was firm and unyielding. His mind raced to decipher the bizarre circumstances while maintaining a stoic exterior, a battle-hardened resolve carving through the veil of fear and uncertainty that attempted to cloud his judgment.
His heart pounded in rhythm with the creature's wild thumping against the floor, resonating through the haunting silence following each leap. Though taken aback by the uncanny nature of the event, Hammerman's unwavering resolve drove him to protect the child and face whatever dread lay ahead with a steeled heart and ready fists.
His instincts screamed at him to remain vigilant, to prepare for whatever came next in this transdimensional trespass. As the creature thumped down the hallway, it slipped on a puddle of black liquid on the ground, and they went forward, going into another puddle, sinking in it, and falling again into another portal, taking the creature along.
The sensation of free-falling through an abyss had Lieutenant Hammerman's stomach turning in knots, yet his hold on the child never faltered. His breath hitched as they descended into the unknown; the cold, murky reality they found themselves in was nothing short of a surreal nightmare. The fall felt endless, and with every passing second, the eerie cries of the creature underneath them resonated through the emptiness, sending chills down his spine.
His mind was a whirlpool focused on ensuring the child's safety amidst this chaos. Suddenly, they went through the exit of the new portal and free-fallen again as the creature gave a startled shriek, this time landing on something flying, which exclaimed, "Hey!"
As they crashed into the flying entity, Lieutenant Hammerman's grip tightened around the child, shielding her as much as possible from the impact. The sudden exclamation from beneath them jolted through the disorienting haze of tumbling through dimensions, snapping him to the reality of yet another unexpected scenario. The creature they initially landed on continued its eerie shrieks, now mixing with the protests of their new host.
His heart pounded against his ribcage. The uncertainty of what awaited them next made his breaths short and ragged. The surrealness of falling through a portal, only to land on a creature, and now finding themselves atop something—or someone—flying seemed to stretch the bounds of reality to its breaking point.
His eyes scanned their surroundings quickly, trying to make sense of the ever-evolving situation. Despite the fear gnawing at him, Lieutenant Hammerman's resolve steeled with every unexpected twist, his only focus to protect the child through whatever bizarre ordeal awaited them next.
The flying entity stumbled blindly as Lieutenant Hammerman noticed that some black goop was covering the eyes, stumbling around as rockets and lasers were heading towards where they were. As Lieutenant Hammerman's instincts kicked in, the person sputtered and spat to get the liquid out of their mouth. He used his weight to make the person move down, dodging the attacks as he exclaimed, "I can't see!"
With adrenaline fueling his actions, Lieutenant Hammerman's military training took over. He maintained a firm grip on the child with one arm, ensuring her safety was paramount. Lieutenant Hammerman carefully moved forward and reached over, grabbing what felt like hands covering someone's eyes.
He moved the hand upward, and the person looked forward, watching as a rocket headed towards them, causing him to exclaim, "Holy-!" The person grabbed controls before them and yanked backward, causing everyone to lurk with him, dodging the attack from the rocket.
However, the liquid was in the engine of what was on his back, causing whatever to make sputtering noises and went towards the ground, splattering into the black substance once again. They exit from the portal and free-fall again, crashing into someone with a gallon of the black substance before falling through the ground.
Some people they crashed into shrieked about pain or startlement before being yanked into the darkness and collapsing onto whoever or whatever went underneath where they fell. Usually, it was bigger items or gigantic, which silently worried Lieutenant Hammerman about what the items could be.
Lieutenant Hammerman had to hold onto the child as they repeated the same process, exiting from the black substance, crashing into someone or a group, and going through the same substance again. It repeated so many times that Lieutenant Hammerman lost count of how many times the substance was a portal.
He could not see where they were going because the black substance became a single waterfall and blob of blackness that grew bigger over time. Eventually, this black substance blob entered a pitch-white area and collapsed on the ground, staying as a blob for a moment before slowly turning into a liquid.
The first to come out from the blob was Lieutenant Hammerman, his hat halfway off his head and holding the child in one arm as he weakly dragged himself out. He was covered head to toe with the black substance, but it slowly disappeared.
The relentless cycle of crashing and portal traversing had mentally and physically drained Lieutenant Hammerman. The bizarre reality he found himself in was far beyond the normal chaos of combat he was accustomed to. Each crash was a jolt, each portal a dizzying whirl of unknown.
His only anchor in this relentless tide of uncertainty was the child clenched tightly in his arm. Despite the eerie unfamiliarity of the black substance and the disorienting portals, his focus remained like a laser on the child's safety, ensuring she was shielded from the impact at every tumultuous turn.
As the black blob finally settled in a stark contrast pitch-white space, the silence and stillness were almost disorienting in its suddenness. The temporary reprieve allowed the tumult within Lieutenant Hammerman's mind to settle.
As he dragged himself out of the blob, every muscle aches from the relentless adrenaline-fueled action. The residue of the black substance clung to him like a grim reminder of the ordeal, yet bizarrely, it faded away as if obeying the serene ambiance of this new dimension.
Though now askew, the hat on his head felt like the only semblance of normalcy amidst a reality that had twisted into the bizarre and unknown. He fought to catch his breath, his chest heaving with exertion as his mind raced to process the surreal and relentless cascade of events.
"What da f**k just happened?!" Lieutenant Hammerman flinched after hearing someone curse, and exiting from the blob was a young man wearing a red uniform clutching a baseball bat in his right hand.
As the young man emerged from the black blob, his face was a mask of bewilderment and frustration. His eyes scanned the peculiar environment they had landed in, but comprehension was clearly escaping him. Lieutenant Hammerman shared the sentiment but had grown more accustomed to the surreal throughout the chaotic journey.
The young man, noticing Lieutenant Hammerman with the kid close to his chest, asked, somewhat stumbling towards Lieutenant Hammerman, "Who da f**k are ya? And where-?"
Something squirmed out from the blob, and a shark emerged from the top, shaking all the black substance off while someone wrapped their arms around the middle. Lieutenant Hammerman stood up on his legs after seeing the shark appear, immediately taking the child with him. The young man exclaimed, holding his bat up, "Whoa! Holy, f-!"
"Wad ye stop wi' the bloody language for once, Scout?!" a Scottish accent rang out after a body emerged after the blob shrank more. "God almighty!"
"I'm sorry, but what just happened?!" Scout exclaimed, moving the baseball bat back into a carrier on his back before rushing over to the man who shouted. "We were battlin' against da BLU team, and all da sudden, we were in here after dat-!"
Scout paused when the same blob-like creature appeared, pushing itself upward from the blackness as others emerged. However, those who were gigantic were already shaking off the leftover substance as one of them, who looked like a gigantic judge, brushed them off from his body.
Lieutenant Hammerman's discipline and military training immediately jumped to the fore as chaos unfolded around him. The presence of a threatening shark and the disoriented individuals emerging from the black blob necessitated an assertion of control to prevent further mayhem. His voice resonated through the dissonance, cutting through the panic with a veneer of stern composure.
"Everyone, hold your positions. We're clearly in an unusual situation. Panicking will only exacerbate our circumstances," Lieutenant Hammerman commanded, holding Stephanie securely, who slumped against him he distantly noticed.
His gaze darted among the unfamiliar faces, quickly assessing their postures and expressions, looking for signs of understanding or shared purpose. The young man called Scout seemed agitated, but his concern appeared genuine.
The Scottish accent hinted at another member of their unforeseen alliance, their interaction hinting at a shared history, possibly under combat or stressful scenarios. Before he could issue another word, a meticulous-looking individual with a medical emblem approached him, his demeanor calm but eyes sharply assessing Stephanie's condition.
"May I?" the man gestured toward Stephanie with a clear medical professional's concern, his accent thick but his intent clear.
Though initially hesitant, Lieutenant Hammerman recognized the medical profession symbol on the man's attire. With a curt nod, he allowed the approach, his trust in the shared humanity of the moment overriding the stranger-danger instinct. His eyes never left the man as he examined Stephanie, ready to intervene at the first sign of threat.
Amidst the uncertainty, Lieutenant Hammerman felt a growing resolution. Whatever this entangled fate had thrust upon them, he knew a leader's resolve was crucial to navigating the bizarre reality they found themselves in. The Medic gently picked Stephanie up in his arms as she slumped, and a redhead woman approached along with others, looking at the unconscious child.
Everyone asked the Medic about the child, "Is she alright?" "What's wrong with her?" "She's very pale!" "Does she need mouth-to-mouth?"
Amid the flurry of concerned voices surrounding him, the Medic remained a bastion of calm and methodical analysis. His seasoned hands moved with practiced ease as he checked for Stephanie's pulse, his expression unyielding to the mounting anxiety among the group. Finding a steady, albeit faint pulse, he deduced the child had succumbed to an anxiety attack, likely triggered by the whirlwind of surreal and dangerous events they had just navigated through.
"She's stable but unconscious," the Medic announced in a firm, assuaging tone, cutting through the cacophony of worry circling them. "Et seems zhe ordeal triggered an anxiety attack vhich caused her to faint. She needs rest, quiet, und a safe space to recover."
His authoritative voice brought a modicum of relief to the ragtag assembly, forming a protective semicircle around him and the child. His gaze swept across the faces, each registering varying degrees of relief, concern, and confusion. But Lieutenant Hammerman's stern, disciplined visage caught his attention, reflecting his professional commitment amidst the chaos.
"Ve need to find a secure location to lay her down, und I'll need some space to examine her further to ensure there are no other underlying issues," the Medic added, addressing Lieutenant Hammerman as much as the rest of the group.
"Well, where can we place her down?" an imp with half a white face huffed. "Everything around here is f**king white, and barely any-" Honk!
Everyone perked after hearing a honk and looked over, seeing patterns that belonged to webbed feet that walked across the white ground, leaving behind a long trail of footprints that led further into the white void.
Honk! Honk! Honk! A teenager wearing a straw hat ran forward, following the footprints as one of the members called, "Luffy, wait!" Then, he chased after the teenager.
"Hold on!" another member called before following.
"Wait, what about us?!" a tugboat exclaimed as half of the group stopped after hearing a voice exclaimed. "We can't move without anything supporting us!"
"Yes," a steam train nodded. "There's no tracks."
Four gigantic beings looked at each other after the sentient vehicles exclaimed before the next shot showed them carrying them, confusing and startling them, while some grumbled at being picked up like a toy.
"You do realize I am not a baggage carrier?!" the judge angrily huffed as he carried some vehicles to help.
But he went silent after they ignored him and followed, silently fuming that he had to carry vehicles around like toys. As they were chasing after the teenager, something was faintly glowing from the garments around Stephanie's neck, but it was not shown as the Medic carried her in his arms close to his chest.
