(Minutes before, at the terrorists' base...)

"That idiot couldn't get anything," a voice from beyond the grave was heard, "Luckily, project Y is finished and under our control. Furthermore, we can send it to the human world with the dimensional portal"

"At least he left it programmed…" the boss responded, walking next to the scientist's corpse, "So…"

He approached a machine that looked like a giant cylindrical generator pointing upwards. Next to it, there was a large glass capsule, which was connected with several tubes. Inside, swimming in a strange liquid, a large, sinister winged creature was sleeping in it. Around his body, he wore a kind of semi-armor connected with several black hoops. The creature seemed asleep.

"It's time…" said the boss, activating the computer next to him, which was connected to the capsule.

(Now...)

The seven chosen children were heading at full speed: Rex and Luke, in their Ultra forms, carried Rose, Zack, Mina, Dylan and Katie in their base forms on their backs. With this, they ensured that they had enough supplies as they crossed the ocean at full speed, heading towards that beam of energy that pierced the sky. As they were approaching, the sky sent off another large thunderstorm that blew out a strong wind. It was being difficult (even for an experienced flying Pokemon).

"This is crazy!" Katie shouted, "Are we really facing this kind of situation?"

"You have no idea, friend," Mina commented, "Besides, we are going to the place where we fought our previous battle with Darkai."

"That seems like too much of a coincidence to me," Dylan said, "Why that place? "Will there be any relationship with everything that has happened?"

"I don't know, but it also seems like too much of a coincidence," Zack supported him, holding on tightly to a new shake from Rex.

"Ouch! Be careful" he shouted.

"I'm sorry..." Rex said.

Against all odds, the kids managed to cross the chaotic ocean and land on the coast (if you could call it that) of the dark island.

"Hey, wasn't this place blooming when we left last time?" Luke asked, returning to his base form (as Rex) and looking around.

Instead of radiant flowers, these were withered and lifeless, like what little grass there was; the rocks were cracked, as if they had broken from the inside; and the air was covered with a smell reminiscent of death. It was as if... death itself had walked through that place.

"This place doesn't compare to the previous environments," Rex commented, also returning to base form and eating a berry to recover some of his energy, "I mean, the previous places gave the feeling of being able to improve, but this one..."

"It's too dead," said Rose, looking at the withered flowers, "It's like, anything that grew here dies instantly or in a matter of minutes… or seconds"

"Guys!" Mina shouted, pointing to the beam that seemed to make the sky more and more unstable.

"Let's not waste time then, we must stop this madness" said Zack.

They all looked at each other and nodded. Next, they headed to the place where that energy came from. For some strange reason, they did not encounter any enemies until they reached their destination:

Among the ruins of what was once a laboratory, the enormous beam of energy rose, projected by a large machinery that the kids did not know about. With the proximity to that energy, one could perceive one's self being left without air.

"It's that machine," Rex said when he saw the source, "We must destroy it."

"Watch out!" Dylan yelled.

Thanks to the warning, the kids were able to get out of the way before a beam of dark energy hit them. Looking ahead, they saw the leader of the Terrorists in the flesh; Kramer, emerging from behind the energy beam.

"Very well, chosen kids," he said, applauding them, "You have been worse than a stone in your shoe all this time."

"Stop this!" Rose shouted at him, "You only cause suffering like your people caused it in the past!"

"It's true!" Zack supported her, "You are nothing more than bullies who believe that perfection is based on destroying the imperfect!"

"Oh really?" asked the enemy, "Tell me something: if you really think you can think better than a political leader, why isn't our world better? The world needs radical changes and a firm hand to be perfect"

"No one is perfect," Rex claimed, "Especially people like you. Mistakes are part of what makes us human and they are not solved by eliminating them, but by correcting them. Thanks to return here, we have understood our human mistakes and with this we managed to evolve even more as Pokemon, and when we return to the human world, we will be different and better people"

"Do you really think you'll come back? After killing my son?!"

"If Martin was your son, neither I nor any of us ended his life... you should have prevented him from becoming a hybrid abomination in the first place: that body of his had no stability"

"Silence!" the boss shouted, expelling a strange dark aura, while placing a his control-helmet on his head, "Yveltal, kill them!

Something huge and fast came out of the beam of light. At first, one might think that it was a flying Pokémon, but it was as big as Regigigas, its wings were black, surrounded by what looked like veins with a crimson red color. His eyes were completely vacant, as if he couldn't think. A long tail of the same red and black colors stretched out behind him.

"That's…" Dylan stammered, stunned by what he saw. Although he wasn't the only one: the Pokemon's mere presence made anyone else stunned.

Rex, who was trying to fight that feeling, completed the sentence:

"Ybeltal, the legendary Pokemon of death"

The terrible being let out a scream much worse than the most horrible scream, and it expelled too much energy.

"We must fight!" Rex shouted, holding up the Pokephone to him. Everyone also did the same.

"Let's Evolve!"

The kids immediately switched to their Ultra forms. They then proceeded to attack with their best attacks.

"Thunderbolt!"

"Razor Leaves!"

"Razor Wind!"

"Hyper Beam!"

"Water Shuriken!"

"Flamethrower!"

"Fire Spin!"

All the attacks merged into one and hit Yveltal, but this one seemed like throwing a stone against a wall. The legendary didn't flinch in the slightest.

"You are nothing to Yveltal," the boss shouted at them, "Yveltal, use Dark Hyper Beam!"

The enormous beast concentrated a large amount of dark energy in its mouth and attacked the chosen kids with it. Without waiting for the attack to hit them, everyone moved to avoid it. That energy crossed and destroyed the dry trees and rocks, even splitting the island.

"In…credible…" Zack said, "That was too close…"

"We will need to fight with everything," Dylan commented.

"I agree," Mina supported, "Let's go... Mega Evolve!"

So, with everything clear, the kids gathered their Pokephones and their medallions, allowing them to reach each of their Mega levels again.

"Charizard Mega Evolve to… Mega Charizard X!"

"Charizard Mega Evolve to… Mega Charizard Y!"

"Luxray Mega Evolve to… Mega Luxray!"

"Meganium Mega Evolve to… Mega Meganium!"

"Greninja Mega Evolve to… Mega Greninja!"

"Nidoqueen Mega Evolve to… Mega Nidoqueen!"

"Unfezant Mega Evolve to… Mega Unfezant!"

Now, they were ready to fight…

Rex, Katie, Luke, and Rose flew around Yveltal to distract it, while Zack, Mina, and Dylan attacked from the ground.

"Mega Flame!" Rex attacked from the right side, while Katie attacked in the same way from the left side.

The legendary Pokemon seemed to be affected by those attacks, but it did nothing more than make it uncomfortable. Either way, it shook, expelling too much air that sent both Mega Charizards flying away.

"Celestial Slash!" Luke attacked above him.

But the Pokemon released a powerful dark aura that repelled Luke, making him bounce.

"Spring Dew!" Rose attacked, but her attack was broken even before it crashed, "But what...?"

"Use Death Wing!" the boss's voice was heard.

The beast proceeded to charge its wings with large amounts of energy, but another series of attacks came from the ground.

"Thunder Roar!"

"Poison Impact!"

"Mega Shuriken!"

The three attacks of the other kids managed to hit the target and destabilize Yveltal for a moment, but... it was as if they were just bees against a giant: the bite hurt, but it was impossible to give it a decisive blow. Just then, the others returned to his side.

"All together again!" Rex shouted, and everyone attacked with his best attacks.

"Mega Flame!"

"Giga Pulse!"

"Mega Fang!"

"Mega Drill!"

"Mega Shuriken!"

"Mega Energy Ball!"

"Mega Wing!"

This attack hit with 5 times more force than the previous one on Ultra, and made even the surrounding area tremble, at the same time as a layer of explosion smoke rose. To the horror of the kids, they could see that Yveltal was still flying and the blow barely left a mark on him.

"It is useless," the boss mocked, "Only without insects for Yveltal and none of you can stop this huge ... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

Suddenly, he fell to the ground while he grabbed his head, on which he still had the helmet placed. The kids found the situation strange, but taking advantage of the fact that he was distracted, Dylan ran at ninja speed to remove the helmet from his head.

"If we have that, we can take control of Yveltal away from him…" he thought.

But, when he was a millimeter away from reaching it, it was expelled by the same dark aura as a few moments ago, only more intense and... shaped? For his part, the boss continued screaming in pain.

"This… wasn't supposed to…" he managed to say.

"Oh, didn't you remember?" asked a voice from beyond the grave that the kids also could hear.

"Who are you?" asked Rose, who could sense an evil aura escaping from the subject. It did not answer them immediately, but it spoke to the boss:

"Do you really think that you were capable of controlling a powerful legendary? Yveltal needs to sacrifice lives to have all that power. I'm afraid you were just another test subject..."

"What? Damn you...!" shouted the boss to his horror.

The shadow proceeded to separate itself from the boss, at the same time that he screamed in agony. When he separated completely, the ring on his head broke and his body fell without any sign of life. On his side, the shadow took shape: he had his hands big and long, he had a drawed mouth on his stomach with a drawing of a macabre smile. His body was black and gray and had a large eye of red anger.

"A…Dusknoir?" everyone asked shocked.

"I'm not just anyone…" the new enemy told them, "I'm a Dusknoir who was trapped in the confines of time after wanting to preserve my future… And now… with Yveltal…"

The Dusknoir flew into Yveltal. For a moment, it seemed crazy to attack. But it was not to attack: he entered the body of the legendary Pokemon as a phantom in a human body. Then, Yveltal was covered with a darker aura.

"And now…" said Dusknoir's voice, coming out of Yveltal, "I will wipe you off the map!"

The enemy created a huge sphere of dark energy as big as him. The kids had no escape: they needed a little time to escape, but that attack would wipe out almost the entire island. Still, they tried to get out of there.

"It's useless!" Dusknoir shouted before throwing it at them.

From Katie's point of view, she could see how that ball of destruction headed toward them would engulf them in its explosion. However, Rex put himself between that attack and her, as if he would try to avoid it... even if it seemed like...

Before the attack hit them, her medallion and that of the other kids also flashed. The next second, a huge explosion covered all the island.
