The Wakandans attempted to heal the avengers as best they could after they recovered from the abrupt shock and terrible loss that they experienced. Rhodey and Natasha were easy to fix. Natasha's right arm had to be amputated but she received a Vibranium arm to replace it. It was virtually identical to Bucky's except it could shoot electrical discharges. After Rhodey was removed from his crushed armour, the Wakandan medics were able to repair most of the damage in his legs and spine and Rhodey's leg braces from before could support him whilst he waited for the damage to fully heal.

Banner/Hulk was a little more difficult. Whilst the damage to the others was only physical, Banner/Hulk had his entire reality rewritten which resulted in him becoming stuck between his two alter egos. The Wakandan Design Group managed to achieve a temporary solution involving several different Wakandan remedies, a large machine used to reprogram minds and heavily concentrated doses of Vibranium radiation. This left him physically stuck as the Hulk but with the voice and mind of Banner although the Hulk's mind would take over in moments of anger.

And then there was Steve. The hastily promoted head scientist S'yan was amazed by what he was seeing.

"It wasn't just that the serum's effects were neutralised, your body appears to have physically aged backwards several years. Based on our scans I'd estimate your physical age is around twenty-five? We'll be able to easily treat most of your existing health issues but unfortunately, we are unable to recreate your enhancement serum. If you want, I can try to develop a substitute, but it could take years"

Steve declined, thanking the scientists and doctors for all their work.

Three weeks after the battle of Wakanda, the remaining Avengers had returned to the Avengers Compound. Steve looked at his reflection in the bathroom mirror. After seeing the mirror was too tall to properly see himself, he almost chucked at the feeling of Déjà vu.

"You're a laboratory experiment Rogers, everything special about you came out of a bottle"

Steve recalled the insult spat at him by Tony Stark when they first came together. He splashed his face with cold water to try and combat his exhaustion. As he gazed at his severed reflection in the bathroom mirror, he wondered in complete disbelief "How the hell did we get back to here". His mind flashed back to the battle of Wakanda. The day he fought Thanos, the day the Avengers lost, the day he went back in time.

"Steve Rogers. The soldier out of time. How appropriate that I save this stone for you." Those were Thanos' last words before his life was changed forever in a flash of green light. The water in the sink rippled. Steve stared at it puzzled before the lamp caught his eye shaking gently. Just then a sound roared overhead. Steve ran outside along with Natasha, Rhodey and Bruce to see a silver and orange spaceship land in front of them. The team saw Tony Stark exit the ship being helped down by a woman with Blue metallic skin. They all rushed up to help him.

"I couldn't stop him." Tony whispered in deep remorse

"Neither could we." Responded Steve attempting to support Tony

"I lost the kid."

Steve hesitated "Tony, we lost..." he was unable to finish his sentence but Tony looked at everyone clearly and finally realised the terrible repercussions of the Avengers defeat. He looked like he was about to make a snippy quip but he swallowed and instead asked:

"Is uh...?"

Just then, Pepper Potts, Tony's fiancée threw herself into his arms.

"Oh, thank god!" Tony sobbed in relief. He was finally brought back to earth.
