Movie Night, Take Two
"Lassbrat, let's get the popcorn and soda ready for the traditional Yun-Farron Movie Night..." Fang reminds the youngest Yun-Farron, who was helping Sice with varying other matters tied to a quiet night at home for the Yun-Farron family. It's been a few months since Seven and Sice had become first time parents to their baby son, Lasswell Junior. As for the Sebusai couple, things have been hectic since their son's birth. Fortunately for Lasswell and Citra, their first 'ceremony' was making it legal at a courthouse, because they wanted Seven and Sice to be present for the actual ceremony, which was a couple of weeks before the birth of Lasswell Junior (everyone calls the newborn son Junior out of love and happiness). It was just last week that the Sebusai couple were given the okay to return to work if they are able to, where only Seven went back to work, knowing that one of them has to bring in some sort of income despite the fact that the couple have been getting help from loads of people in every way possible, knowing that not only is Seven one of the next in line to head the Clans of Oerba after Fang and Lightning, but the Sebusai couple also has a reputation for doing things in a honourable manner, just like how the Fangrai taught them all those years ago. All in all, it was the least that can be done for the Sebusai couple. It certainly helped that being related to the Fangrai couple provided some perks that one would be a fool to overlook.
Movie night, ever since Lasswell and Citra started dating, have been a major tradition with the family, since the Fangrai and Sebusai couples aren't ones who publicly flaunt their business to everyone. One can argue that sexuality might be a major reason why, but it was simply by choice. Certain things weren't for everyone to know about; in other words, which made them happy above all else. It was a while after Fang and Lightning had found out about Lasswell being with Citra that the younger couple were invited for movie night with them, as Lightning saw a younger version of herself in Citra. Caius and Yeul enjoyed the movie nights with Fang and Lightning a few times they were a part of the tradition ever since the Fangrai couple moved to Oerba proper. For this particular movie night, it's the first one that involves Fang and Lightning's first grandchild, plus the first since Lasswell and Citra went to the courthouse to get married. Lightning felt that her family - Fang, Seven, Sice, Lasswell, Citra & (Lasswell) Junior - is more complete than in the past, now that she and Fang are grandparents at last. Fang's heart was much fuller than before, or in recent times if the brunette was completely honest here, in turn now that she has a grandchild. Even the clans were happy for the Yun-Farron family, with Caius being on guard duty to ensure that Seven and Sice had a safe experience with being first time parents.
It was a while later that all the occupants got themselves ready to enjoy a quiet evening at home, complete with family, a great movie and peace of mind - the latter being the one thing Lightning really wanted as it was much harder to obtain that peace of mind back on Cocoon soil as opposed to the peace of mind on Gran Pulsian soil. Holding Junior in her arms, the older Farron sister relished the fact that she and Fang are grandmothers at last. Her smiling cerulean eyes spoke the words she couldn't say without getting emotional over the matter. In fact, this brought back the times where Lucien and Enya held Seven and Lasswell in their arms when those two were infants and it was movie night in either one of their houses. For the Sebusai couple, having a movie night on Seven's birthday, which is this particular instance, was a very special one. The fact that this is what Seven wanted for her birthday, this turned out to be a very special and happy birthday for the silver haired lass. If the white-haired lass wanted one thing, it's to have more times of seeing her wife being this happy. I'm so fucking happy right now, my entire face hurts... Sice mused to herself in gratitude and happiness, for her having a wonderful family was just the icing on Sice's metaphorical cake.
The movie of choice was one who turned out to be one that everyone enjoyed, all the while Lasswell Junior felt the love from everyone in the family, and the night was completely free from the drama that would be the norm of the adults' lives.
For Seven... this was one happy birthday indeed.
