Chapter 3: Hunting and Training
So, hunting is a lot harder than I thought. It took me a couple of days to get the hang of it, but eventually I did it.
I am currently hunting a rabbit. As I sat and waited for it to start eating the grass, I slowly creeped up to it. And then BAM!. I suddenly jump and bite the rabbit's legs to prevent it from escaping. Then I give it a nice bite in the stomach and it dies.
Another thing I had to get used to was eating raw meat. I could not use any magic because I didn't have a humanoid body, apparently. I could only use illusion magic, due to my kitsune side. The taste of the warm blooded meat tasted really good, despite how grotesque the scene would look if any human watched me slowly eat it.
After eating the rabbit, I go into the lake to clean myself of all this blood. I still have to stay hygienic. After finishing my bath, I head back to the cave I am staying at and start to fall asleep. I have been repeating this process for the last year. Just 4 more and I can leave this place and hopefully meet my sibling Vali. I wonder how he is going to treat me. I'm not sure how he acted as a kid, but I hope it's not too similar.
I wonder which type of fox Yokai I am.
From what I recall, there were two types of fox spirit Yokai, the Zenko, or heavenly foxes, like Yasaka and Kunou, and the Yako, the earthly foxes. There was an important distinction between the two beyond their titles. Zenko were benevolent spirits, evident by the kind and soft nature of the mother-daughter pair in the DxD series. The Yako were the opposite of them.
While not inherently malicious or evil, Yako had the predisposition to be mischievous and vicious if provoked or uneducated. I should be able to balance out these urges due to my human side.

Nice. I'm almost to what I wanna save up for. I wanna get rid of my weakness to holy things. It gets really annoying to have to get a headache for just thinking of a certain someone. After that, then I can start working on abilities.
There are two ways that kitsune can get stronger. Either they sit around and live really long lives and acquire tails that way. Or they train, fight and kill to get stronger. I will be obviously doing the latter as I don't have time for that.. I can't wait to get a human body so I can actually train.
(Time skip)
It's been 3 months since then.. As I'm hunting for my next prey, I smell a foul odor coming from a certain direction. I decided to head towards it to check it out. As I see a giant ogre. It's about 8 feet tall and has a muscly body. Its weapon is a club. It's pretty ugly as you would expect from an ogre. It sees me and starts to rush at me.
I don't have any magic besides illusion magic so I'm going to have to rely on my instincts. As it rushes at me with its club, I dodge it and cast an illusion that I got hit. It sits there and waits to see if I died from his hit. Meanwhile I sneak behind him and go for a bite to the neck. It succeeds and it starts crying out as I bite down hard, trying to kill it.
It throws me off of it but it's bleeding pretty bad and should die soon. It starts rushing at me with even more vigor as kind of a last stand. I dodge it again but the Shockwave blasts me back and I hit a tree. 'Damn that hurt.' I say internally.
I rush back in and cast another illusion to where I jump up and try to scratch it and it swings again but I'm really behind him using my claws to dig in his eyes. I succeeded and he screams out before collapsing and dies right there. After it falls, I sit down and rest for a minute. That was probably the hardest fight I've had yet. Then again, fooling Animals with illusion magic is pretty easy.
As I'm sitting there thinking, I suddenly grow a second tail. I also got some ancestral knowledge on how to transform into a humanoid shape. As this happens I decide to try it out. I shrink down from the big fox I was, into a small boy that looks about 7 years old.
"Huh, so this is how it feels to have a body again." I say out loud.
Well at least I can practice things like my magic and Vector Manipulation. That's what I'm most excited about. According to Accelerator's memories I could even make black wind and fly with it. I don't need them as I have devil wings, but they could come in handy if my wings get injured. I should be able to use my Vector shield automatically, unlike Accelerator, who had to use a choker after his brain got damaged.
I will not let that happen to me, as I would not wanna be limited in any way. I will continue to train this power and my magic to become the strongest.
How Accelerators powers work is that as the name implies, I can control any and all vectors. A vector is anything with direction and magnitude. For example, if someone shoots a fireball at me, I can reflect it back at the person. In addition to that, I can also use the vectors in the air and shoot it out at my opponent or even shoot objects at my opponent.
As I think this, I try to bend the air around me. Since I have Accelerator's knowledge along with Essence of the Archmage, this should be an easy task to do. I bend the air around me and hold it in my hand, then I shoot it out at the tree. The tree breaks in half as I do this.
Cool, guess I should keep practicing that for a while. I should try to just reflect the sun subconsciously as practice. Next is magic. Since I am part devil, I should be able to cast magic by just imagining it. There are the basic magics like Fire and Ice. In addition to those, there are even things like Enchantment and Hypnosis magic. There are also other energy systems like Ki that I need to learn so I can learn Senjutsu and Toki.
For the next couple of years, I will be practicing these things until I am the age of 5.
(time skip)
It's been 4 years since then. In these 4 years, I have grown a lot in terms of my magic ability. I have found that my main Elemental magics are Ice, Fire and Darkness. I have tried to dabble into Senjutsu training but have not seem to get the hang of it. Other than that, my Vector Manipulation training has gone great. In terms of esper levels of power, I am currently at a level 3 in Vector Manipulation, which is great considering my age.
I hope to reach level 5 by 10 years of age and then work to become an even better user of it by the time cannon starts. There's only a few more months left until my mom comes to pick me up. I hope she can teach me how to use Senjutsu. Hopefully I won't have to kill clones to gain power or anything.
As I walk back to my base after collecting food, I hear a noise and it sounds like a person's footsteps. Isn't that impossible? I guess someone could be living out here and I never found them. As I walk towards the noise, I see someone I didn't expect to be here at all. A girl about 5'2 and wearing a magical girl costume is walking around with a depressed look on her face. Of course, this is Serafall Leviathan but I wonder why she is so sad. Should I go talk to her? I think she would be suspicious if a kid was out here in the middle of nowhere. It also could be a good way to see where I am in the cannon right now.
Thinking this, I walk over to her to talk to her.
"Are you ok, Miss?" I say
She looks surprised at me because I assume it is because I am a child out here.
"It's ok, I'm fine. More importantly, what is a child like you doing out here? Where's your mom or dad?" She asks worriedly.
She is really not suspicious of me? Huh.
"My mom sent me out here to learn how to live until the age of 5 and she will pick me up after that." I tell her without thinking about it.
'Shit!' I yell internally. I just basically told her my race by saying that. As I look over to her, she looks confused at me. Does she not know that Youkais do that? That's good. I don't have to reveal my race just yet.
"Is that a tribe thing you do or something? I have never heard of that before." She says
"Yes, we do that to the young in our tribe." I say, covering the fact that I'm not human.
As I think this, suddenly I start to feel a connection with someone. As this happens, I crouch to the ground as I feel a burning sensation in my body like a mark is disappearing. Serfall runs up to me and starts asking if I'm okay.
"I'm ok. I just felt really hot for some reason." I say
As I say this a teleportation circle opens up and out comes…. Wait, is that my Mom?
As I think this, she suddenly runs towards me and hugs me.
"Oh Naruki, I'm so glad to see you. It hurts for a mother to let go of their kid for that long." She says
As she's hugging me I go into thinking. Wait, I thought it was until I was 5. Maybe that burning sensation was from her telling me she's coming to get me?
"Inari-sama?" Serafall says after seeing her.
My mom turns around, registering Serafall's existence and being surprised that she is here.
"Serafall, what are you doing here? And why are you next to my kid?" She says getting defensive.
"Nothing Inari-sama. I just came to the forest to get a change of scenery before this child showed up and talked to me. So you left him here. Is that a Youkai tradition or something?" she asks
Damn, guess she found out huh? Well as long as she knows Inari is my mother, she won't try anything with me in regards to the devil faction in the future.
"Yes, all Youkai children usually are sent to a forest to learn how to survive until 5 years of age." my mom says
"I see." Serafall says
"Ok, time to go Naruki. Goodbye Serafall, until we meet again." my mom says
As my mother hugs me and prepares a teleportation circle, I wave to Serafall goodbye and she waves back. As we teleport off, I can't help but wonder where my mother lives.
(Scene change)
As we finish teleporting, I see lots of other Youkai walking around like it's normal. Where are we exactly?
"Welcome to Kyoto Naruki. The home of the Youkai." she says.
So this is Kyoto? It looks a lot different than it did in the anime. As we walk around, all the Youkai bow to her. Makes sense since she is basically the god of Youkais. We made it to the castle where I thought Yasaka was the leader. And speak of the devil here she is.
"Welcome Inari-sama. What brings you here to my castle?" Yasaka says bowing
"Hello Yasaka, no need to be so stiff. I'm here for a friendly visit with my son as he and I will be staying here for a couple of years." My mom says
Yasaka looks surprised and turns to me just noticing me.
"When did you have a kid Inari-sama? And where is the boy's father." she asks
She scowls at the word of father, did something happen with him? I guess he is a lucifer so he must have done something to make my mother hate him. Oh yea Vali is already born huh? She must have found out that he cheated on her.
"He's almost 5 years old and his father is a cheating, disgusting, vile bastard and I should have never fallen for his words. Not only that but he tried to take him out of the forest I put him in to train and tried to kill him since his father found out he had a kid with me." She says angrily.
Guess I was partially right but the rest I had no idea about. Damn Rizevim. I still blame my father however. I won't be able to forgive that bastard ever, even if I don't have a problem with Vali, making my mom sad is unforgivable.
"I see, My condolences, Inari-sama. What about your job?" Yasaka asks.
"It's fine, I can do both but I might not be able to look after Naruki as much because of this so I'll be counting on you for that." My mom says with a cheeky smile.
Yasaka sighs as she says that. Guess this happens a lot and they seem close enough.
"Go on Naruki, Introduce yourself." my mom says
"Hello, my name is Naruki Okami Lucifer. Nice to meet you, Yasaka-san." I say, trying to be polite.
"Well aren't you just the sweetest thing. As you know my name is Yasaka and it's nice to meet you as well." she says
As she shows us around the castle, I can't help but be worried now that Rizevim knows I exist now. Will he try anything? Or will he focus on Vali since he lives near him. I hope it's the latter as if he goes after my mom, it will be bad. I need to become stronger so I can protect my mother from him. I need absolute strength so that no one will ever think of challenging me. That is my new goal, Absolute strength. And I have a One way road trip there.
Hey guys, KK here. It's been a while since I posted since I kinda forgot to write and partly because school started back up and i've been focusing on that. Most of this chapter was just built up for this arc and him building the foundation for his character. I have something special planned for him and a lot of new ideas. Not a lot of the system in this chapter. Partly because I forgot and partly because Idk if I want him to rely on it too much. Let me know if you guys feel the same or want him to use more and any powers he should try to get. Also just a disclaimer Serafall isn't the main girl here. I just wanted her introduced here to get her to know about him. She may or may not be in the harem
