Chapter 81
"Elsa… what's going on?" Anna inquired as she glanced between Elsa, Riley and Daphne.
"I could ask you the same thing. What are you doing here?" Elsa replied.
"I came here looking for you." Anna replied as if the answer was the most obvious thing in the world.
"I understand that, but why?" Elsa clarified.
"Well do I need a reason to come looking for my one and only sister when she just runs off without any explanation?" Anna responded as she folded her arms across her chest and gave Elsa a playfully challenging look.
"You were supposed to stay at the castle where it was safe, but I guess what's done is done." Elsa responded with a sigh.
"When has it ever been safe at the castle?" Anna gave her a look and made a face. Elsa looked like she wanted to immediately agree, but she hadn't forgotten what she'd learned recently, and knew that, that 'danger' probably had a lot to do with Anna.
"Okay… let's not go there right now. Anna… there's some things I really need to speak to you about." Elsa stated after a few moments of trying to figure out how to move forward with this conversation.
"Alright." Anna replied with a shrug, as she eyed her sister curiously. Occasionally she'd glance over at Riley and Daphne, both of whom were watching the exchange with interest. Her eyes drifted over Riley's demonic form more then once and despite her obvious surprise and curiosity she reacted much more casually to the reveal then any other normal person would have. It was that lack of utter shock that confirmed it in Riley's mind that Anna not only knew of the existence of the Icy familiar but had interacted with it before.
"I've learned some things recently… things that I've wondered about but never really knew for sure." Elsa began as Anna returned her full attention to her sister.
"You see… Well… I don't really know how to say this so… I guess I'll just say it..." Elsa struggled to find the right words to describe the situation, and began to pace as she did.
"Okay?" Anna stated as she gave her sister a confused look.
"We're not related." Elsa finally just stated.
"What?" Came the immediate response from Anna who looked taken aback by that sudden declaration.
"This woman here with the wings is my mother, and the woman with her is my other mother… she has wings just like my feather." Elsa tried to explain as she brought up her treasured trinket to allow Anna to compare the two.
Anna took a step closer and gazed at the feather. Her eyes darted between the feather and Riley, and after few moments her eyes widened even further as she too, noted the similarities.
"The King and Queen found me when I was a baby and they raised me here. But, I'm not really their daughter." Elsa explained.
"You're not? But… but that would mean..." Anna finally put the pieces together and started to pace back and forth.
"Anna… listen to me… I don't care if we share blood… that doesn't matter to me. You're my sister. Nothing will ever change that." Elsa tried to calm her sister down. In the process she quickly approached her and placed both hands on Anna's shoulders forcing her to face Elsa.
"So… we're not actually related?" Anna asked after a few moments.
"That's right." Elsa replied.
"Then you don't have to feel guilty about this." Anna responded and immediately pressed her lips to Elsa's, surprising the Ice Queen in the process.
It took only a moment for Elsa to return the kiss which the two continued to share for several long seconds.
After the two parted Anna offered her sister a smile.
"I don't care if we share blood or not. I love you. That's all that matters to me." Anna stated, earning a shy smile from Elsa.
While the two sisters conversed, Riley was glancing between them and the man she knew to be little more then a thrall. He didn't even seem to respond to this whole situation. No emotion registered in his eyes. He mimicked surprise, but his eyes were completely dead. Devoid of anything and everything that would indicate life.
"Okay… now that the hard part is out of the way. There's something else we need to discuss." Elsa stated as she regained her composure.
"Oh?" Anna inquired with a quirky tilt of her head.
"The guards in the castle… the ones that were killed when we were children… did you- did you have anything to do with that?" Elsa laid out her question. She had taken Anna's hands by this point and had locked eyes with her.
Whatever Elsa have been anticipating, whether it be surprise at the question, guilt, anger, she didn't get it. Instead Anna simply tilted her head and responded with "Yes."
"You killed them?" Elsa clarified.
"Well no, but I'm the one who targeted them so that Reedman knew who to go after." Anna responded with a shrug.
Seeing her cavalier attitude towards murder, Riley could only shake her head and let out a sigh. This was exactly what she expected. Whoever Anna had been once upon a time, she wasn't that person any longer. Being around demons for so long changed people, made them more violent. The fact that Anna seemed to care very little about those that she'd had killed and the fact that she wasn't trying to cover it up, meant that she had already been greatly affected by Elsa's presence, and that was counting on the fact that Anna was a well functioning person before that.
Years and years with a powerful demon, even a half-demon can do terrible things to people, especially if that demon actively interacts with a person and doesn't have full control over themselves.
It was in that moment that Riley pondered about whether or not her own friends and loved ones were being altered by her power. She spent a lot of time and energy keeping her power in check, but that didn't really mean a lot when her power was as potent as it was. It was definitely something to think about.
"So you ordered it? You're the one responsible for all those deaths when we were little?" Elsa stated, more to herself then as a question.
"They hurt you… I wasn't about to let them get away with it. It was just an added bonus that we got placed together every time it happened. It meant we could be close together, and they couldn't hurt you while I was there. Everything ended up working out in the end." Anna stated with a smile as she leaned forward and kissed Elsa again. Elsa had been too rapped up in what was said to return the kiss or stop her.
Riley and Daphne shared a look with one another when they heard that. Both wondering the same thing, what she meant by 'hurt'. Was there parts of Elsa's adolescence that they hadn't read about in the King and Queen's journals?
"Anna… how did you know about that?" Elsa asked once Anna pulled away.
"I saw the bruises once or twice and I heard you crying some nights." Anna responded, her face darkening in a way Elsa had never seen before. At Anna's darkening mood, Reedman let out an icy hiss signaling his displeasure with Anna's anger. It was apparent to Riley and Daphne that when Elsa created this familiar, she had done so for the sole purpose of making Anna happy, and what made Anna happy was the death's of those that had dared to lay a finger on the one she cared most for.
"Those bruises healed over in only a few minutes. How did you..." Elsa started to respond but Anna quickly replied.
"There are pathways through the castle. Hidden places. I used them sometimes to go and see you and make sure you were alright." Anna supplied earning a tentative nod from Elsa.
Riley and Daphne shared a look with one another, both wearing scowls.
"It seems they did more then just belittle and berate her." Daphne sent to Riley.
"Either they never wrote about it, or the guards themselves did it. Either way, I'm leveling that castle." Riley sent back, earning a nod from her wife.
"Anna..."
"I wanted to keep you safe so I would sneak around the castle from time to time to keep an eye on you. I got really good at keeping quiet. No one ever caught me and I made sure that every single guard that ever hurt you suffered for it. After a while they began to realize the trend and they stopped. They stopped hurting you, which is exactly what I wanted." Anna explained, stopping Elsa from speaking once again.
Elsa stared at her sister for several long moments contemplating what to say. It was obvious that she was concerned by her sister's cavalier attitude towards the murders, yet at the same time she couldn't fault Anna for protecting what she cared about. Lord knew that if anyone put their hands on Anna, Elsa would have done much worse to them in response.
"Anna, I'm sorry." Elsa finally stated.
"Sorry? For what?" Anna replied with a curious look.
"For leaving you alone all those years. I thought I was keeping you safe by staying away from you. I never realized that you were the one keeping me safe. So… I'm sorry." Elsa said as she took a few steps back and her eyes dropped to the ground.
"Hey, it's okay. I know you were scared but you don't have to be anymore. Look at what you were able to do, you don't have to be afraid of your powers anymore. I made sure that those in the castle know the price for going against you. We can go back, be together, everything will be better then it was before." Anna told her with a wide happy smile.
"Anna… I'm not going back. I can't. I'm not the queen, and Arendelle isn't my home. These women, they're my mothers, they have answer for me, answers I've wanted my entire life. I'm going with them, I'm going to meet the rest of my family. Apparently I have siblings out there. And there are people like me who can do things like I can. I was never supposed to be here, Anna. I need to go." Elsa explained.
"N-No… You can't go. This is our chance to be together you can't leave now!" Anna nearly shouted in reply as she shot forward and grabbed Elsa's arms, her eyes wide is disbelief.
Again Reedman let out a hiss, obviously angry at it's master's distress.
"Anna… I can't go back… but that doesn't mean you have to stay." Elsa replied as Anna started trembling with built up emotion. Elsa was quick to take her sister's face in her hands as she spoke, and wipe at the tears that were starting to fall from Anna's eyes.
"I can go with you?" Anna asked quickly.
"I- Yes. I don't want to force you. It's your choice, but Arendelle is your home, you're the Queen you need to..." Elsa started to reply but a sudden cheer from Anna disrupted her.
"Yes! Yes! Yes! A thousand times, Yes!" Anna squealed with joy. She actually started to tremble she was so excited.
"You- Anna, you need to think about this. Arendelle is your home." Elsa seemed stunned that Anna hadn't even hesitated to accept the offer.
"I don't care about that. I want to go with you. It's all I've ever wanted was to spend time with you. I love you, that's all that matters to me. I love you and I know you love me back. So as long as we can finally be together, I don't care where we go." Anna quickly explained.
"Anna…." Elsa started to say. It was obvious that she was searching for something to say in order to make Anna aware of just what she was giving up, but nothing came to mind. Being trapped in the castle meant that Anna didn't have any friends. Her parents were cruel and distant and on top of that, they were gone now, so they no longer mattered. Elsa found herself grasping, as there was actually nothing that came to mind as a good reason for Anna to want to stay in Arendelle.
Finally something came to mind, but it was weak to say the least, and Elsa almost didn't say it, but she knew she needed something, something to at least get Anna to slow down a bit and actually think.
"What about that prince? The one you wanted to marry?" Elsa finally asked.
"Him? I never wanted to marry him, I just wanted to make you jealous. You spent that whole party ignoring me, so I had to do something. Besides all of that, I wanted to get close to him." Anna replied as she made a face.
As soon as she heard the answer, Elsa made a face of her own. Of course Anna had simply wanted to make her jealous, and it had worked quite well, though that last bit did draw her attention.
"You wanted to get close to him? Why?" Elsa asked, earning a curious look from Riley and Daphne as well.
"He spent the whole party eyeing you up and down. I think he intended to try and get you to marry him, but then for some reason he started to hang around me. I didn't like the way he made me feel, it felt like I was being used, like with how the King and Queen always treated me, so I wanted to get close to him so I could get him somewhere alone and have Reedman get rid of him for me." Anna supplied earning a surprised look from Elsa.
"Good instincts." Riley noted.
"A person who is driven likes to keep their eyes on the prize as it were. If this guy spent the whole party watching you, then suddenly shifted his focus to Anna, that's cause to be suspicious." Daphne offered when Elsa shot a look over at Riley.
"She's right. I'd find that pretty shifty. Don't know if I'd have just killed the guy for it, but that's still something to be cautious about. Plus I think that prince is currently leading a troop of armed guards up to the front door right now." Riley added, and almost right on time, they all heard the doors to the front of the ice castle swing open.
"They're here to kill you." Riley noted, as she was hit by a desire for blood. It didn't stem from all of them. The prince it seems wasn't here for blood, but there was something darker lurking within him from what Riley could sense.
As the troop of armed guards made it to the room they were all in, Riley retracted her wings and turned to face the doorway, as did the others.
"Princess Anna, Queen Elsa, you're alright." Were the first words out of the prince's mouth when he saw the two. The seven guards along with the two men in red coats eyed the queen with suspicion and fear. Most of the guards were armed with spears, though the two in red held crossbows and while they kept them down, Riley could clearly see their agitation and even without reading their minds or emotions, she knew they would try and shoot Elsa the second they got an opening.
In the quiet of the moment, Reedman had vanished from sight, using it's natural body shape to maneuver closer to the troop in preparation for an attack.
Olaf the snowman had been quietly watching the exchange with a big grin, but when the guards walked in he quickly moved over to Elsa and Anna, despite his cheerful nature and playful demeanor the little talking snowman was still a demonic familiar and instincts drove him in that moment to defend his master.
The Blonde haired thrall, Kristoff displayed surprise and moved more towards Anna, as if to shield her, while his Reindeer pal, Sven almost seemed to narrow his eyes at the troop.
"Of course we're alright, what are you doing here Hans?" Anna responded giving the troop a focused look.
"Looking for you. Everyone down at the castle is worried for your safety." The prince, Hans responded. As he spoke the two men in red, ever so subtly moved away from the group. Both appeared as if they were inspecting the room, but it was obvious to Riley and Daphne, that the two men were simply getting into position to attack.
"Well I'm fine. I found my way here without much trouble, and I don't appreciate that you came 'looking' for me, armed with spears and crossbows." Anna bit back in reply.
Hans looked to slightly falter at that, his eyes glancing towards the men at his side. At that moment, Elsa also focused on the guards and their weapons. It was in that moment when the two men in red raised their crossbows in unison, both aiming right at Elsa. Before either could fire a hiss was heard and something shot through the air. Reedman passed through the first man's body like a blade. It didn't need to claw or scratch or swing it's tail, all it had to do was advance and it passed through the man's body like a knife through air.
The other man let out a scream as the icy familiar lashed out with it's tail, taking the upper half of his head off. The collection of guards let out a collective cry and Hans reached for his sword, only to find it missing. His eyes widened and shot to his side, clutching desperately for the sword he knew should be there.
Right then, seven of Riley's eight tales shot out grabbing the guards, and slamming them high against the wall holding the door they had entered through. Without any hesitation or hint of remorse, Riley's eighth tail lashed out, and in a single motion bisected all seven guardsman at the waist.
Reedman let out a chilling hiss of glee at the sight of the troops organs spilling out along the icy wall.
Daphne herself cringed at the sight and let out a sigh. "Was that really necessary?" She inquired, with obvious discomfort at the brutality and display of Riley's kill.
"Yes." Riley answered, earning a focused look from Daphne. For a moment, Daphne was confused as to why Riley would answer like that, sure Riley had her violent streak, but no one had been harmed yet, and the guards hadn't been the ones to threaten them. Usually with such displays, Riley would at least apologize for such a gruesome showing. When Daphne's eyes met Riley's she found curiosity mirrored in Riley's gaze. It was then that Riley motioned with her eyes, over towards Elsa and Anna.
Daphne sent a subtle gaze at the two, and quickly noted that while Elsa looked unsettled and had turned her eyes away from the bodies, Anna was focused on them. Her face displayed surprise but there was something in her eyes, something that Daphne had seen before in Riley's eyes. It was blood lust.
"Our dear sweet Elsa sure knows how to pick 'em." Riley sent to Daphne over their link, while also dropping the seven bodies and focusing on Hans. By now he had turned and made a run for it, only to make it out onto a nearby balcony that led nowhere, leaving him trapped.
"What should we do with him?" Riley inquired.
By now, Anna and Elsa had approached the doorway leading out onto the balcony where Hans was backed against the railing.
"Queen Elsa, you have to believe me, I had no intentions to harm you or the princess." Hans stated as he turned to face them.
"That's a lie." Riley noted as she dove into his mind and saw just what he was planning.
"No it's not. I swear to you, my intentions were strictly noble. Those men, they were the Duke's men, he must have ordered them to kill you. I swear, I had no part in this." Hans argued. His eyes danced between them, but eventually they fell on his sword, held in Riley's hand. How she had obtained it was a mystery to him.
"There is no point in lying to us, we can read your mind." Daphne noted as she stepped up to the group.
"She's right. I can see your thoughts. I know what you intended to do. How you planned on marrying Elsa to gain a kingship. How you changed your plan to marry Anna, with the intention of offing Elsa, to again, elevate yourself. Poor little Prince Hans… alone without a crown." Riley chided him as she ran a fingernail along the edge of his blade. One could easily see the metal peeling off as her diamond-hard razor-sharp nails cut into the steel with ease.
"So that's what you wanted. A crown? It all makes sense now." Anna accused him as she broke from the group and marched closer to him. She didn't get within arms reach and Reedman followed close by her side, unseen to the naked eye, and the only sign of his presence was a light click that marked it's step.
"Anna..." Hans began.
"Shhhh..." Anna quieted him with a soft smile. She then through a look back at Elsa and inquired with a smile, "Do you want to deal with him, or shall I?"
Elsa looked stunned by that question and her eyes widened and darted between Hans and Anna.
Seeing Elsa's surprise and hesitation to kill Anna made the decision for her. "It's alright. I can handle it. You don't need to waste your energy on this guy."
She then turned back to Hans who had backed up as far as he could get against the railing.
"Anna..." He began to say.
"Reedman." She cut him off, and with a hiss the Icy familiar shot forward tearing into the would-be king. His screams tore through the air as he was ripped limb from limb.
Elsa let out a shudder at the sight and averted her eyes. Riley smirked and nodded with approval, while Daphne simply shook her head and turned to reenter the main room.
"Can you really read minds?" Anna inquired as she turned and gazed at Riley.
Hearing that question paused Daphne's advance. Anna had ordered the prince's death, despite not knowing if what they had said was true. It was obvious at that moment, that Elsa had found herself someone just as vicious and violent as Riley was. Someone who would brutally slaughter anyone who so much as thought about harming the person that mattered most to them.
"Yes I can." Riley responded with a continued smirk as she turned and headed after Daphne. The smile she carried was enough to draw Daphne's gaze. She knew Riley was analyzing Anna. Gauging her and determining just what kind of person she was. As a muggle, Anna was relatively harmless to a magical, but due to her obviously unhinged mind, and her command of a powerful demon, allowed her to be a powerful threat to those around her.
While Anna and Riley made their ways further into the castle, Elsa quickly stepped up next to Daphne.
"She's a lot like Anna, isn't she?" Elsa inquired to her mother.
"Yes. Riley is incredibly violent, and overprotective of her mates. We can control her violent tendencies to a degree, she responds well to our displeasure but it doesn't always work, and it's only a surefire thing when we're all working together." Daphne responded with a sigh.
"She shouldn't be like this. There has to be a way to fix her." Elsa responded.
"Unfortunately, there is little you can do about it now. She's obviously the dominant one. Unless you take the reins from her, she wont respond as well to your orders. She worships you though. She adores you above all others. You have to be the one to curb her violent tendencies. Show that you are strong enough to deal with your own problems and do what you have to to make sure that she adheres to your desires." Daphne explained to her, the two keeping a decent distance behind Riley and Anna, though Daphne knew that Riley could still hear them.
"I don't know how to do that. I don't know how to help her." Elsa admitted.
"Reward her when she does what you want. Punish her when she gives in to senseless violence. And… when you're ready, strengthen the bond you share. Find the things she loves doing the most, and use them as tools to train her. People can be trained just like animals, you just have to take a step back and find the right tools for the job. She wants you, and she's high off of bloodlust. Right now there is very little you can do to bring her down from it. She wants to satiate her desires, so you have to find a way to distract her. Get her to focus on you and keep her focus there until it subsides, and then keep her away from conflict until you've got her trained." Daphne offered up as a reasonable idea for getting Anna under control.
"How do you deal with Riley when she gets like this?" Elsa asked.
"Honestly, she can feel our emotions so she knows when we're upset. Riley knows that indiscrimate murder is something most of us don't agree with so she refrains from doing it so that we're not unhappy. But when she gets worked up, and she starts working that brain of hers, she can usually convince us to concede the use of violence. Once that happens, there's only two easy ways to get Riley to calm down." Daphne informed her.
"And those are?" Elsa pushed for more info, hoping to find something that could help her.
"The first is an exciting battle. Something for her to expend her energy on. The second is sex." Daphne answered, earning a bright blush from Elsa.
"I see." Elsa mumbled as the two rejoined Riley and Anna near the entrance.
"So… what now?" Anna inquired.
"We get out of here?" Daphne suggested.
"I'm all for that." Riley agreed.
"All of the boats are probably frozen down in the bay. How are we going to get anywhere without them?" Elsa inquired.
Riley was about to answer that they did not need them, when Kristoff spoke up, offering his first real bit of input since he arrived.
"I think I know a way. We can get help from my family. They can show Queen Elsa how to unfreeze the boats." He offered.
Daphne and Riley shared a look, as did Anna and Elsa.
Before anyone else could, Riley smiled and responded with, "Sure. That sounds like a great idea, lead the way."
Kristoff smiled and headed out the door. Daphne shared a look with Riley, both of them sharing their thoughts with one another.
"He'll lead us right to those creatures." Daphne noted.
"Yep. Once there I can see about curing these people and if not, I can destroy the cause of their strange magic. Put on those special ear pieces, and have Anna do the same. Elsa and I should both be alright, when dealing with them, and their magical songs." Riley responded. Daphne nodded her head and withdrew the magical ear pieces they had retrieved from the King and Queen's office. Daphne placed two on her ears then walked over to Anna and placed the others on her. Anna looked confused as she was fitted with the special protective Ear pieces but didn't put up a struggle when Daphne put them on her.
"Listen, your friend is being mind-controlled by some sort of creature that lives up here in the mountains. These same creatures are controlling the populace of Arendelle as well. The King and Queen made a deal with these creatures to marry you off to Kristoff and in exchange these creatures would help them control Elsa. These ear pieces protected your parents in their dealings with these creatures." Riley explained to Anna, earning a nod from the girl as Daphne finished placing the ear pieces on her.
Daphne then cast illusions on hers and Anna's new protective wear to make it appear like they were just wearing earrings.
"What do you intend to do when we reach these creatures?" Elsa inquired.
"I'm going to see if I can find a way to break their control. Most likely, I'll have to kill them all. Maybe that'll work and the people of Arendelle will be freed and we can just leave them to their fate, if not well..." Riley explained to the two, earning a tentative nod from Elsa while Anna scowled.
"What about Elsa? Wont she need these?" Anna asked.
"Elsa being what she is, has an incredibly high immunity towards this type of mind control. They'll actually have to focus their power if they actually want to control her, and they'll be dealing with me once we reach them, so I highly doubt they'll have the time to do so. Just keep an eye on her okay, and make sure nothing bad happens." Riley added a smirk at the end, as if telling Anna that she was entrusting Elsa's safety to her. Anna gave a firm nod, accepting that answer and the responsibility it entailed.
From there, the group followed Kristoff down the mountain. Most of them hung back, and Anna and Elsa spent most of their time being entertained by the little Snowman Olaf. Eventually they made it to a clearing filled with rocks.
Riley saw them instantly. The rocks radiated magic. The same magic she'd been seeing since she arrived here. Kristoff was quick to smile and move into the crowd of stones, while Riley made a motion with her hand to stop the rest of the them from advancing.
Daphne was quick to pick up on the strange formation of the rocks and the way that Kristoff seemed to gaze at them reverently.
"Hey there little one, you've gotten so big." Kristoff stated as one of the smaller rocks unfurled to reveal a small creature with gray skin, large eyes and stout features.
"Look, it's Kristoff." They began to hear voices call out as the rocks all began to unfurl revealing these small creatures of varying ages and genders.
"They're trolls." Anna noted.
"Trolls… right." Riley muttered. Whatever these things were, they weren't trolls. She'd killed trolls before, these were not trolls.
"Look, he's brought a girl." One of the trolls shouted.
"More then one. Look at how pretty they all are." One of the younger ones added.
"Why do I suddenly feel like they're all undressing me with their eyes?" Daphne whispered to Riley.
"Probably because they are." Riley responded with a scowl.
"Welcome." A troop of voices chorused just outside the barriers of Riley's mind. It was obvious that Elsa had felt it too as she started to glance around in surprise.
"Out!" Riley snapped as she flexed her power. A shockwave of energy erupted out of her and energy cascaded out and around her. The trolls all let out a collective gasp and moved away from her as they saw the darkened twisted energy Riley was unleashing.
"What are you, strange one?" An older member of the trolls inquired as he stepped past the collection and stood before them. He seemed to be some kind of leader and Riley sensed that he held more power then the rest.
"What I am is unimportant. I came here to demand answers." Riley responded as she took a step forward. By now the darkened energy she had unleashed was withdrawn, allowing the area to return to it's calmer state.
"And what answers do you seek, my child?" The old troll inquired.
"I'm not your child, and stay out of my head. I hear those voices one more time, and I promise, you'll regret it." Riley snarled as her eyes turned red.
The elder troll seemed to contemplate her words and his demeanor seemed to shift.
"What is it you seek, dark one?" The elder troll asked.
"Why have you possessed all of these people? I can sense your energy in every resident of Arendelle. What is you seek to gain from this?" Riley laid out her question as she eyed the collective of trolls.
"What we seek is the betterment of all things." The Elder troll responded with a smile.
"What in the hell does that mean?" Daphne asked, earning a look from the leader of the trolls. He smiled at her, but his sight-line with Daphne was quickly broken when Riley stepped between them, her eyes darkening further.
"We only want to ensure that this land is properly cared for. The people of Arendelle can help us in that endeavor. All they need is a bit of guidance. We can provide that guidance." The troll responded.
"So… you just dominate people's wills because you can, because you think you know what's best? All right." Riley stated.
"Alright?" The troll elder seemed confused by her statement. It seems that he was anticipating some form of argument rather then agreement.
"Yeah. Alright. I don't give two shits about these people. They treated my daughter like shit, and honestly I don't feel compelled to help them. Now my wife on the other hand, she's much kinder then I am. You're going to need a helluva lot better argument then that if you want to convince her not to have you all killed." Riley responded.
"You wouldn't harm us. We have children here." A troll shouted at the group.
"Appealing to my better nature is really unwise, considering what my better nature entails." Riley warned with a vicious smirk.
"You are quite the monster. We only seek to ensure our protection here. Arendelle is simply a means to an end. Surely you can understand that. All we ask is that you hand over Princess Anna and Queen Elsa, and we'll allow you to leave without any harm." The elder stated with a kind smile.
"Not happening." Daphne snapped immediately. Her wand jumping into her hand and her face twisting into an angry sneer.
"What do you need Anna for? I understand Elsa, and her powers, but why Anna?" Riley asked as the sisters both adopted glares of their own.
"She is special. She was chosen to be the one to bring our two races together. Using our magic we have already set the first pieces into place. Once the seed takes hold, she will bring forth a new being, a union of our two peoples, that will stand above both." The elder explained.
"That is never happening!" Elsa snapped, as the mere thought of her sister being used in such a way enraged her to her very core.
"I'm not going to be your pawn. And I'm not your chosen one." Anna added.
"Whelp, the ladies have spoken. You can keep your creepy union fantasies to yourselves, we'll have no part in it." Riley concluded as she sent a glance back at Daphne, Anna, and Elsa and motioned for them to start moving back.
"I'm afraid I cannot allow that." The elder stated as he snapped his fingers and a beastly cry was heard.
All of their eyes snapped to Sven the Reindeer. Green energy coursed through the animal as it let out a huff and cries. The energy wrapped around it and flowed out of it, as the Reindeer began to change. It's body grew, and grew, and within moments the friendly Reindeer had turned into a twenty foot tall being of incredible power.
What now stood in Sven's place was a massive creature that resembled a Reindeer, but with a few notable differences. First was that Green runes could be seen glowing beneath the creature's grayish fur. Around it's feet was a torrent of swirling greenish energy that matched the runes in color. The Reindeer's eyes were glowing white, like someone had lit a fire within them, and holding place above the ends of each of it's antlers was an emerald flame.
The beast before them, was quite intimidating and held a certain beauty to it. Unlike a demon, there was something mystical about the creature, most likely due to it's connection to the nature energy, employed by these creatures.
"That's bad." Anna muttered.
"Yeah." Elsa agreed. Daphne was quick to step between the sisters and the massive Reindeer, leveling her wand at the creature.
Though unseen, Reedman was also between them, hissing and clicking away.
Olaf the snowman held close to Elsa's side, he spent his time shouting at Sven to stop with the strange transformation and that friends shouldn't fight like this.
"This isn't going to end well for you." Riley warned as her wings erupted from her back and her tails unfurled.
"I'll give you one chance. Hand over The Queen and the Princess and we'll allow you to go free. Refuse and we will harm you." The Elder offered.
"You just don't get it do you? That's okay though, I will educate you." Riley responded with a snarl.
"No, it is you that doesn't seem to understand." The elder responded, almost sadly. He then snapped his fingers and in unison, the trolls all began to hum.
Music filled the air, almost to the beat of some sort of warchant. Before all of their eyes the rock trolls began to change. From out of their bodies sharp stones erupted. Riley's group watched in morbid fascination as the Rock trolls transformed. Grayish skin and grass coverings were replaced by nothing but stone. Rock began to twist and form around each troll, even the children, to form large, powerful golems. These golems mimicked the trolls in appearance but stood at nearly seven feet, and each one's eyes glowed with white just like Sven.
"We will not allow you to leave with our prize." Their voices carried out in unison, much like Riley had heard in her head.
"Ah, so this is your true form." Riley noted with a smirk. Her eyes fell on Kristoff who stood amongst the crowd of golems. His eyes were now glowing white, signifying that he was now, nothing more then a living puppet.
"Riley, what are they?" Daphne called out to her as Sven let out an angry huff and began to advance towards them.
"They aren't trolls. They're rock Elementals. Ancient ones. This is gonna get exciting." Riley responded with a smirk.
"Elementals, what does that mean?" Elsa inquired as she raised her hands in preparation of using her powers to defend her newly acquired family and her beloved sister.
"That means that they have absolute control over their governed element and the only limit to that control is the amount of magic they can output." Daphne responded.
"And they operate as a unified organism." Riley added with a cheerful grin.
"Great." Daphne muttered.
Right as Daphne said that, her personal wraith stepped out of her shadow, and drew its sword.
"Hey Daph, this reminds me, we still need to go on our honeymoon." Riley stated as she sent a glance back at her mate.
"Are you really thinking about that now?" Daphne called back, not taking her eyes off the massive Reindeer.
"We never got the chance to go on our Honeymoon. This war happened so fast, that we ended up putting it on the back-burner. We still need to go on ours." Riley continued earning a sigh from Daphne.
"Do we have a plan?" Elsa inquired.
"Yes, you hold back and protect Anna. Me, Reedman, and my wraith are gonna deal with this guy, and Riley's got them. You two just make sure you stay out of the line of fire and don't let those creepers get close." Daphne responded earning a reluctant nod from Elsa whom started to back away with Anna behind her.
"What should I do?" Olaf asked.
"While Elsa keeps Anna safe, you keep Elsa safe, alright little guy?" Daphne responded earning a smile and a nod from the little snowman.
"Time to dance my love." Riley stated, earning a small smile from Daphne. Right then, Sven dashed forward intent on trampling Daphne.
The blonde Slytherin was quick to jump away while sending a powerful Reducto right at the Reindeer's head. The spell splashed against it's fur causing a powerful impact that threw it off it's charge and knocked it to the ground. Following up her strike, Reedman and the wraith shot forward. The wraith drove it's sword into the Reindeer's throat earning an enraged cry from it, while Reedman jumped onto it's side, while it rose up from the ground and began to tear into it.
At the same moment, the Rock Trolls, rushed forward, intent on overwhelming Riley, they were met with fierce resistance as she lashed out with her tails, each one igniting in a burst of lightning, accompanied by the signature sound of Chidori.
Anna, Elsa, and Olaf held back as the battle raged on. They were mesmerized by the speed and ferocity of the fight. The Rock trolls launched physical attacks and manipulated the earth as they tried to ensnare Riley. She moved through the collective, cutting them down with impossible ease. Despite being made of stone, her strength was simply to great for them to put up any sort of meaningful defense.
Meanwhile Daphne and her team worked well against the nature energy enhanced Sven. Daphne held back, bombarding the beast with spellfire and the occasional jutsu while Reedman and the wraith kept it occupied at close range.
Occasionally, Sven would let out a powerful bleating noise, and the flames adorning his antlers would glow brightly, before jumping from their positions towards his intended target like a homing missile. This forced all three attackers to keep mobile and fast to avoid getting struck.
Daphne quickly learned to simply avoid the flaming spell, rather then block it, as her first attempt at a shield was quickly overpowered by the attack.
While the three were doing damage, Sven seemed to be able to regenerate quite quickly from the attacks, so it forced the three to keep on the offensive lest he fully heal from previous injuries before they could land more.
"Watch out!" Olaf cried out, causing both Anna and Elsa to turn just in time to see Kristoff rushing towards them, his eyes glowing white and a disturbing smile, adorning his face.
He dove towards the two, seemingly aiming for Anna, Elsa was quick to pull her sister back extend her hand sending a torrent of ice right into his center mass. This sent Kristoff flying back where he hit a nearby pile of rocks with a sickening crack.
Elsa looked shocked at what had happened. The way Kristoff landed, it was obvious that he had broken his neck. Despite knowing that she should have felt bad, Elsa couldn't bring herself to feel ashamed by what she had done, which surprised her. No more then an hour ago she was worrying about Anna's violent tendencies, and now here she was, having just killed someone, and she felt… nothing. Nothing but relief.
"Elsa!" She heard Anna cry. Elsa turned to look back at her sister only to see Anna pointing at where Kristoff had fallen. He was rising to his feet and much to her horror, it appears she had been right. His head held limply, unsupported yet at the same time, he still held that same smile and the glow in his eyes.
"That's not good." Elsa cried as Kristoff once again charged at them.
This time Elsa launched a spear of ice from her hands. This spear struck true, impaling the man through the chest. Kristoff slowed down a bit, but then recovered and started to charged towards them again.
"He's not stopping." Anna cried.
Elsa, seeing that their was no other option, unleashed a torrent of freezing cold air at the man. He was quickly forced to a halt, and within a matter of moments his body began to freeze over.
"Don't stop." Anna cried out to her sister. It appeared as if freezing him was working. His body was quickly encased in ice, and he was left, still staring at them, but unable to move any longer.
"What did these things do to him?" Elsa muttered.
"I have no clue." Anna replied.
"Shit!" They both heard Daphne cry out. Both their eyes snapped towards her just in time for Daphne to sidestep on of Sven's antlers, as he tried to gore her against a wall. While she was able to dodge the strike, this now left her pinned between his antlers and stone wall.
"Mother!" Elsa cried out. She quickly rushed forward and launched a blast of freezing air right towards Sven's back legs. The blast of air, instantly froze one of the legs earning an enraged cry from the beast.
Right then, the wraith swung by, and drove it's sword into the frozen appendage.
A cry of pain was heard, as Sven's back right leg exploded from the impact, sending shards of ice scattering across the area.
Losing his back leg, forced Sven to the ground with a cry of pain. Seeing that, that had worked, Daphne pocketed her wand and grabbed hold of Sven's antlers. She began to channel her bloodline and draw the heat out of the beast's body.
Within moments, the animal was crying out in agony, and though Daphne felt pity for the creature, she knew it was enthralled by the trolls, and that if she allowed it to live it would only attack them again. It took almost two full minutes, but eventually Sven ceased to move, and a few moments after that, his body froze solid.
As soon as Sven ceased to move, the flames at the ends of his antlers went out, signifying the creature's death. Daphne was quick to blast away one of his antlers to allow herself to maneuver out from between them.
Once free she gave the giant reindeer a look of sorrow, but quickly allowed it to fade. She steeled her emotions and moved to rejoin her daughter.
"Is it dead?" Elsa asked as she approached.
"I think so. We should go." Daphne told her, as her eyes glanced between Elsa and Riley.
"What about her?" Elsa asked as she too glanced over at Riley, whom was flying through the group of Rock trolls, punching and kicking at them, sending showers of stone all throughout the area.
"She'll be fine. It's us I'm worried about. We need to get out of here. Once we're a reasonable distance away Riley can unleash her full power and destroy these things." Daphne explained as she took both Elsa and Anna's hands and began to pull them away from the battle.
Despite still being worried about Riley's safety, Elsa conceded to leaving with Daphne and Anna. The three quickly made a break for it. As soon as they were out of the clearing, Daphne ordered the wraith to pick up Anna, while Daphne scooped up Elsa.
"What are you doing?" Anna cried out, as she was scooped up.
"You'll slow us down. We need to move fast." Daphne responded. She quickly motioned for Olaf to hop onto Elsa's chest, so that he could join them. Once everyone was situated, Daphne and the wraith made a running leap off the edge of the nearest cliff towards Arendelle.
Their sudden, unexpected leap, earned screams of terror from Elsa and Anna, and laughs from Olaf.
Reedman could be heard clacking along after them, easily able to keep up with his speed and agility.
Back up with Riley, she delivered a cross kick that shattered another troll letting out a laugh as she did.
"It seems your golden boy has been removed from the picture, and your prize had escaped." Riley noted with a chuckle.
The group of trolls glanced over towards Kristoff almost in unison, then directly in unison they all let out a pained cry.
"You don't know what you have done! What happens next, is all your fault!" All of the trolls chorused at once.
In unison, they all raised their hands into the air and started chanting. Their stone bodies began to break apart and come together, gathering in a single mass.
At that same moment, Daphne at the others made it back into town where everyone was out in the streets, staring up at the mountain they had just come from.
"What are they all staring at?" Anna asked as she was set down, Daphne quickly set Elsa and Olaf down as well, and they all glanced up at the mountain. They couldn't see anything, but they could hear music begin to drift down from the mountain. For several seconds nothing happened, then the people's eyes started to turn white and they all started to sing in rhythm with the song.
"Oh that's really not good." Daphne muttered, drawing her wand and holding it at the ready, in case any of the singing townsfolk tried to attack them.
"We need to get out of here. I don't like this." Elsa whispered, her eyes darting between the singing thralls.
"Right. Run towards the water, but keep your distance from them." Daphne whispered back. With a nod, they all began to move through the town.
Several long moments went by before the first person let out a cry of joy, and then burst into light.
This stopped the entire group, dead in their tracks.
"What was that?" Anna yelped out in surprise.
All that was left of the person was a pile of ashes that quickly blew away in the blizzard. Several seconds later another person let out a similar cry and burst into light. Then another, and then another. Soon the entire town was sounding with similar cries.
"Whats happening to them?" Elsa shouted as the wind began to pick up.
"We need to hurry." Was Daphne's reply as she burst into a run. The group followed her, Anna and Elsa held hands as they ran, keeping one another close. Olaf jogged behind them, trying to keep up, while the Wraith and Reedman ran on either side of the group, keeping a watchful eye on the surroundings.
Back up on the mountain, Riley watched with interest as the trolls massed together and gathered more stone from the surrounding area forming a massive titanic creature that stood over one hundred feet high.
"Earth Elementals… where the hell did they get all of this energy from?" Riley thought to herself.
"Riley, all the people down in town just started singing and exploding into starlight, what the hell is going on up there?" Daphne called out to her over the Gravemind Link.
"Oh. Well that answers that." Riley thought as she realized the answer to her question.
"So that's why you were mind-slaving the people, to harvest them in order to amplify your powers. Fuckin' bastards." Riley growled out.
"We would have guided these people into a peaceful and loving existence. You endanger everything we strive for, and because of that, all those that give their lives to stop you, will be remembered. We shall carry them with us, in our hearts. Now… feel the power of our unity!" A thousand voices chorused at once.
"Demented fuckers. You don't see anything wrong with what you do. You're nothing more then parasites, leaching off of others and calling it love. Let me show you what true power is." Riley replied as she held up her hand and began to channel a Rasenshuriken.
Back down in town a few moments later, the group made it to the water and started to race across the ice. By now, the entire town of Arendelle had gone silent, leaving only the sound of the blizzard to accompany them.
"Do you think Riley is alright?" Elsa asked Daphne as they made it to a frozen boat and paused to catch their breath.
"Yeah. I'm sure she's fine." Daphne replied.
At that moment they all heard a boom and then something flew down from the mountain, struck the side of the castle, bounced off and hit the ice no more then a dozen yards from them.
"Riley?" Daphne called out, as she saw her mate pull herself out of the icy crater and look around, bewildered.
Riley quickly shot to her feet and glared up at the mountain. "Didn't like that did you, you fucking assholes! Hurt didn't it!?" She snapped out with a manic grin.
It took her a second but she registered eyes on her and glanced over at them.
"Hey guys." She greeted them with a smile.
"Are you alright?" Elsa asked with a dumbfounded look.
"Fine, why do you ask?" Riley inquired.
"You just flew down from the mountain and hit the castle and… wow..." Anna answered for Elsa who was still shocked by what had just happened.
"What happened Riley?" Daphne asked.
"Trolls massed together and absorbed the whole friggin' kingdom. I hit them with a Rasenshuriken which seemed to piss them off a bit. So they punched me down the mountain." Riley replied.
"Okay, what now?" Daphne asked after a moment of silence.
Riley was quiet for a moment before glancing back up towards town. Over the sound of the blizzard they all heard something rumbling down towards them, and whatever it was, it was massive.
"Gonna need a bit more kick to pierce through the stone." Riley noted.
"Is there something I can do to help?" Elsa asked.
"Nah I can… actually, yes there is something you can do." Riley replied after a moment of thought. Riley quickly walked over to her daughter and held out her hand.
"Place your hand in mine, and channel your ice magic out from your palm. Pump as much power into it, as you can. I'll do the rest." Riley told her.
Elsa offered a nod, and did as Riley instructed her. She placed her hand on Riley's palm up and allowed her magic to dance forth from her fingertips. She focused as hard as she could to allow the raw power to flow forth and to her amazement it started to move and take shape.
While Elsa provided her raw ice element, Riley used her power to shape it and add it's power to her own.
Elsa let out a gasp as her and Riley's power fused together and took the shape of a rotating frozen shuriken of ice.
Anna and Daphne watched from the sidelines as the technique was formed. Right about then, a massive shadow began to appear from the direction of town and the rumbling got louder. Very soon, a massive figure emerged into sight, it stood over a hundred feet high, and appeared to be made of stone.
"It's beautiful." Elsa noted as she stared into the rotating shuriken of ice. Inside it was glowing white energy, making the whole thing look like a glowing crystal.
"Our power is so much alike, you and I. Parent and child, often have energy similar enough to one another that combination techniques can be easily utilized with enough control. Let's show these bastards what they're dealing with." Riley replied earning a smile and a nod from Elsa.
"There is no escape. You belong to us Princess Anna, Queen Elsa." Voices echoed down from the giant creature.
"Let's finish this." Riley stated.
"Yes. Lets." Elsa replied and in unison, both woman launched the technique forward, towards the massive creature.
The Icy Rasenshuriken flew through the air and struck true, impacting the trolls right in the center mass.
Their stone body may have been thick enough to block out of the power of the normal Rasenshuriken, but they could do nothing to stop the jagged shards of diamond hard ice that were unleashed by this variant.
Ice fragments ripped through the air and tore up through stone, punching all the way through to the other side.
Riley's group watched in awe as the trolls let out cries of pain and agony as they were torn to shreds by ice shards swirling about faster then the speed of sound.
"No! NOOO!" Were the final words spoken by the troll collective as it's body crumbled to dust. Shredded by the technique and leaving nothing bigger then a fingernail remaining.
"It worked." Elsa stated as the stone creature began to crumble.
"Hell yes it did. That was awesome." Riley replied with a grin.
"It's over. We're finally free." Anna stated as she walked up and draped and arm over her sister's shoulder.
"Yes. We are." Elsa replied as she turned to her sister, the two locking eyes as they did.
The two smiled at one another, while Daphne approached Riley and took up position next to her.
"Time to go home?" Daphne inquired.
"Time to go home." Riley responded with a smile.
"Alright ladies, time to leave..." Daphne stated though she let out a noise when she glanced over and spotted the two lip locked.
"They seem a bit preoccupied." Riley noted.
"Should we wait?" Daphne inquired.
"Nah, let them go to sleep with that on their minds." Riley replied as hit the two with a stunner knocking them both out. She quickly sealed the two away along with Olaf and then made a clone and gave it the scroll.
"You go with this clone alright Reedman. She'll take Anna and Elsa to a safe place, where you'll keep an eye on them until I see you again alright?" Riley informed Elsa's demonic servant. The creature gave her a curious look but offered a few clicks and a nod. It then hopped over to Riley's clone and hopped on it's back.
"See you guys in a few years. Stay out of trouble." Daphne told the two. Riley's clone offered a nod and Reedman let out a few clicks. Then the clone took flight and the two vanished up into the clouds.
"So… what happens now?" Daphne inquired.
"We wake up." Riley responded as she gazed back towards Arendelle. As soon as she had sealed Elsa away, the storm had stopped. The blizzard had subsided and the wind died down, revealing a frozen wasteland.
"You'll never cease to amaze me Riley." Daphne stated as she took her lovers hand.
"I think she takes more after you." Riley replied with a grin.
"Maybe, her smile is definitely yours." Daphne added earning a nod from Riley. The two continued to chat like that for several moments until the world turned black and they found themselves out of the cold and into the warm air of their tent.
"Welcome back. Have fun?" They both heard Katie inquire.
"I had fun." Riley admitted.
"What was your child like?" Luna asked.
Both Daphne and Riley shared a look and offered each other a grin. Riley quickly entered Kamui intent on retrieving Anna, and Elsa immediately.
"Well ladies, story time." Daphne stated as the group gathered around and Daphne started to tell the tale of their time in Arendelle.
-Elsewhere-
"Taki has joined with the Legion and Suna. Soon they'll have their forces prepared for a major assault into the land of Earth." Obito informed Pain.
"Well then… it seems I'll have to get involved much sooner then anticipated. It's time for the world to know true pain." Pain replied as he rose from his position within his office.
"I hope you know what you're doing… she wont respond well to this." Obito warned.
"Then she will fall just like all the others. A mighty warrior she may be, but she is nothing before a god." Pain responded, his Rinnegan shining ominously.
Obito stared back at him from behind his mask, his Sharingan matching the intensity of Pain's eyes.
"Then it's time for phase two." Obito stated.
-Elsewhere at the same time-
"Here kitty kitty. It's time to play." Hidan called out as he and his partner advanced through the darkness of an underground temple.
They arrived in a large open room to find the two-tailed cat waiting for them.
"Stay focused Hidan." Kakuzu warned as the flaming cat hissed at them.
"I've got it. Let's teach this pussy some manners." Hidan stated with a manic grin.
-To be continued-
Alright there's the next chapter, more on Anna and Elsa in future chapters. I'm gonna be focusing more on Riley's family and children as time goes on, and she'll start spending way more time with then as the war comes to it's end. Hope you all enjoyed and see ya next time, Ja Ne!
Also yes the end of the fight against the rock trolls was my homage to Naruto movies that always end like that. I liked the idea so I went for it and I wanted Elsa to help take them down.
