Welcome to my long awaited crossover series "When Worlds and Dangers Collide", a crossover consisting of Batman: the Animated Series/The New Batman Adventures and The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest with some elements from the Batman lore as well as from the first two seasons of the comic series Batman: the Adventures Continue.

Not only is this a continuation of The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest but this is also a continuation of Batman: the Animated Series/The New Batman Adventures. There is a time jump as this is set four years after the final episode of The New Batman Adventures which explains why Barbara Gordon is now Oracle, rather than Batgirl for example, among other things.

As for the timeline regarding The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest, it's set about six months to a year after the final episode of the series where the Quest Team lose their compound in Florida which leads them to moving to a newly discovered compound in Gotham.

There are also additional members of the Bat Family who haven't appeared in in the DCAU who will be present such as Orphan/Cassandra Cain, Spoiler/Stephanie Brown, The Signal/Duke Thomas, Red Hood/Jason Todd (who appears in "A Gotham Christmas Carol"), Batwoman/Kate Kane, and Damian Wayne, as the last two will appear later in the series and you'll see the rest starting the first chapter/episode.

Just so you know, nearly everything from Batman Beyond is ignored. While Terry McGinnis still exists in my DCAU canon, there are many things about BB that will not exist such as the stupid Bruce x Barbara BS that should have never existed in the first place, and Tim was never turned to a Joker Junior in this universe but that doesn't mean the Joker won't try something like that on someone else in the Bat Family. I'm not telling who or else it'll spoil a certain story arc in this story.

Before I start this series, like many fans of Batman, I was saddened to hear the tragic death of Kevin Conroy, known as the iconic voice of Batman, who passed away on 11 November 2022. He was beloved by fans of the show, and he will be missed by one and all.

Shippings: Jonny Quest x Jessie Bannon; Dick Grayson x Barbara Gordon; Race Bannon x Jade Kenyon (possibly); Tim Drake x Stephanie Brown

The Quest Chronicles: Gotham

Chapter One. A New Attitude

Nightwing looked up and took a deep breath. He looked on as he was patrolling on the streets with Batman and Black Bat.

Reflecting on the past four years, he could remember being a part and leading his own super hero team, the Titans, along with Robin being on the team as well. That worked out for awhile, until a dark time in his life which he was convinced he wasn't exactly cut out to branch out on his own, at least not for a long time.

During that time, Batman made a lot of changes with his team roster as well. With the additions of Black Bat, Spoiler, and a surprise, Red Hood, as well as some upgrades, or downgrades, depending on how one would look at the situation in which Barbara Gordon endured.

A few years ago, the Joker shot and paralyzed her from the waist down to try and drive her father insane and try to get to Batman as well, but of course, that failed for the Joker, as the Commissioner remained sane and Barbara would change from being Batgirl, to becoming Oracle, helping the Bat Family out, even in a wheelchair.

"I still can't believe Nightwing didn't take on the Condiment King last week," Black Bat spoke up, pulling him from his thoughts, "you know, when he said he would."

"You should have taken on the case," Nightwing muttered before speaking up, "Give me a break! In case you haven't noticed, it took me three weeks to get the mustard smell out of my suit when I did take him on last time."

"Invalid reason," Batman replied, "and because you bailed, I had to take on the Condiment King myself."

"Relax you guys," Oracle spoke through the comms, "I told you he had some business in Bludhaven he had to attend to at the last minute which was why he didn't take on the case."

"Uh uh, sure." Batman nodded, unconvinced by the statement.

"Oh please," Red Hood chided in curiosity, "do tell us more."

"That night," Robin explained, "there wasn't much of the big names showing up at the city such as the Joker or Two Face, so essentially, we had to deal with some second rate villains."

"I took on the Kite Man so that I wouldn't have to deal with the Condiment King," Spoiler added, "while Robin here took on the Baffler."

"Baffler?" Red Hood quipped, "Such as the Riddler knock off?"

"Exactly." Robin nodded, "And we had no problems with our opponents."

"Albeit Kite Man tried making a pass at me once again," Spoiler chimed in, "I knew that would happen."

"Anyway," Robin continued, "it was down to Nightwing and Black Bat to take on the Condiment King."

"Dick tried to beg Cass to take on the case," Spoiler added, "convincing her that she owed him, but she wouldn't do it, and after a brief staring contest, Nightwing said he'd take on the case."

"Yet, he bailed!" Black Bat chimed in.

"Guys enough!" Oracle spoke up, "There's action on both ends! Group One, a couple of muggers are attacking a woman at the alley close to you guys, and Group Two, a couple of thieves are taking off with jewelry where you are at.

"Here we go!" Red Hood exclaimed. He, Spoiler and Robin made their way and advanced towards the two crooks holding bags of jewelry in their hands.

Red Hood used his guns to scare the thieves enough to drop the bags from their hands, Spoiler beat and knocked down the crooks before they could get away and Robin tied them together.

"Hero time!" Nightwing exclaimed before he, Batman and Black Bat made their way to the alleyway where two men were cornering a woman, who was cowering in fear.

Batman's presence alone made the two muggers run away from their intended victim, Nightwing managed to stun the muggers with his escrima sticks and Black Bat managed to knock them out.

"That takes care of that." Nightwing stated as his group made sure the woman was safe.

"Well done, team," Oracle told the two groups, "My father has been informed about the two criminals and they will be taken into custody."

"I believe it's time to turn in for the night." Batman told the team.

"Sounds like a plan." Spoiler nodded in agreement.

Jonny walked over to the balcony of his room, looking out the day view of his new home in Gotham. It was something he wasn't used to, as far as the environment, "This is definitely nothing like Florida."

A couple of months ago, the Zin Twins ambushed the Quest Team and destroyed their old compound in Florida. First Dr. Zin himself destroyed the compound in Maine, and then his daughters destroyed the compound in Florida. He just couldn't believe it. He couldn't help but to wonder how exactly they found out their location. Maybe the twins had their way to find out, just like their father.

"Jonny, where are you?" Jessie called from outside his room, pulling Jonny from his thoughts, "We don't wanna be late on our first day of our new school in Gotham."

Jonny sighed before he turned around and saw Jessie at the doorway, "Yep. On my way."

Jessie nodded in response, "Okay then, hurry up."

He sighed before he took a few steps and walked out of his bedroom.

Jonny made his way down the stairs and made it to the living room where Hadji, Alex, Race and Jessie were all waiting and he was in school attire like Jessie was.

"Good morning, Jonny." Race greeted Jonny.

"Morning, Race."

Jessie sighed before speaking up, "Looks like we're ready for school, Dad."

"And I'm ready for homeschooling." Alex added.

There was a pause of silence as the group looked at each other. Jonny glanced at Race, Alex and Hadji on the couch while Jessie was standing next to him.

Race glanced over at him, "Something on your mind, kiddo?"

"Well," Jonny looked upward, "ever since we've moved here, we haven't had any action and we could be unprepared for any situation."

"You're right on point that we need to be prepared for anything," Race replied, "but at the same time, Batman and his team are taking care of essentially all of the action here in Gotham."

"And his team has expanded over the years," Alex added, "Outside the main team, there are ones known as Batwoman, Batwing and Blue bird who occasionally help Batman."

"As for his main team," Jonny chimed in, "I personally think Nightwing is the cool one of the bunch. I'd like to team up with him someday."

"Maybe when he's not in Bludhaven." Jessie crossed her arms.

"Well," Alex interjected, "according to recent news, he has been spending more time here in Gotham as opposed to Bludhaven because of a tragedy of that city that happened awhile back."

"I, on the other hand," Jessie spoke up, "am interested in working with the Batgirls."

"How many Batgirls are there exactly?" Jonny asked.

"Three," Alex explained, "the original Batgirl, the Batgirl in purple who is basically known as Spoiler and the Batgirl in black known as Black Bat."

"For the past few years," Race added, "it's been Spoiler and Black Bat for the Batgirls as Huntress and Black Canary occasionally helping out in Gotham as the Birds of Prey."

There was another pause of silence as everyone looked among themselves.

"You know," Alex spoke up, breaking the silence, "Red Hood seems interesting too. I hear he has his own group, the Outlaws."

"And there is Red Robin," Hadji added, "It has been said he is a skilled detective."

"I wonder if we'll meet Batman and his team anytime soon." Jonny glanced up.

"I'm not sure," Jessie replied, "but who knows, we might just meet them on an all new adventure."

"I'd advise you be careful what you wish for, kiddo." Race advised.

"What makes you say that?" Jonny asked.

"Because the unexpected is always lurking when we least expect it," Hadji answered.

"Exactly." Race nodded in agreement.

"Good logic, Hadji." Alex smirked.

"Well Hot Shot," Jessie glanced at Jonny, "in the meantime, we need to get to school like now."

"Okay then," Jonny replied, "let's go."

They both left the house on their way to school.

Dr. Benton Quest arrived in the room as he noticed Race, Alex and Hadji looking around the room in silence.

"Are you guys okay?" Benton asked.

"Yeah," Alex answered, "we're fine."

"Jonny and Jessie are on their way to school." Race announced.

"Well, that's good to hear."

"Before that," Alex chimed in," we had an interesting conversation about Batman and his team."

"Known as the Bat Family?"

"Yeah," Race answered, "and Jonny seems bummed over not having action over the past few weeks since we arrived here in Gotham."

"Well..." Benton started to speak.

"What is it?" Hadji asked.

There was another pause of silence.

"Doctor?" Alex spoke up.

"Jonny might just get the adventure he wants," Benton spoke up, "and working with the Bat Family might just be coincidence too."

"What makes you say that, Dr. Quest?" Hadji asked.

"I...I had this dream that this seer appeared to me," Benton answered, "informing me of a daughter that I have."

"Daughter?" Hadji was taken aback by that statement, "That is odd."

"I wonder what that means." Alex quipped.

"The girl in my dream looked exactly like my daughter." Benton revealed.

That statement brought the room in stunned silence, especially Hadji and Alex. Race didn't appear as surprised as the younger men were as he was aware of the daughter in question.

"Wait what?!" Alex exclaimed in surprise.

"You have a daughter, Dr. Quest?" Hadji asked in surprise.

"Yes," Benton explained, "She's my oldest child. Rachel and I had given her up to a family friend to keep her out of harm's way. Something tells me it is a decision I shall regret."

"What about your dream?" Alex asked.

"The seer came to me in my dream shown me an image of the girl," Benton explained, "my daughter, and I was informed that she is closer than any of us can think."

"Is it physical or mental closeness?" Hadji asked.

"It felt more like mental closeness because I could feel the girl's presence," Benton answered, "then the seer told me I had to tell Jonny about his long lost older sister."

"Heavy." Alex quipped.

"Are you going to tell him?" Hadji asked.

"No," Benton shook his head, "not yet. I'm not sure when I will tell him, but I will surely tell him when the time is right."

"I hope you tell him soon." Alex stated.

"I will," Benton replied, "but in the meantime, Alex, it's time for you to be home schooled."

Author's Note: I made the decision like Sailor Moon Defenders, I am dividing my stories into volumes. They will be up to five to ten chapters per volume, depending on the story arc and everything. I decided to take this route as opposed to making one story arc in one huge chapter as I felt it would have dragged on if I done that.

A/N 2: I'm reviewing through my notes through my original first episode of season 3 and my series of revisions I made of my continuity of The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest over the years to bring this project to life. I also love how this is turning out.
