Valkyrie Dawn: A Fairy Tail SYOC Story

Welcome to the world of Valkyrie Dawn...

Orcana: Orcana is the mainland to which the peninsula of Ishgar is attached. And like Ishgar, the territory of Orcana is split into various nations. Three to be in fact: The Kingdom of Albion, the Kingdom of Caelestine, and the Xeria Empire.

Religion: The faith of Laias is the only religion in Orcana and is followed in all three continents. However, each continent has varying degrees of how the people follow the religion. Caelestine is the country that follows the faith of Laias the most, even going so far as to say that those who wield light/heavenly magic are superior. Albion is a close second and many people in Albion also follow the faith of Laias, especially since Laias' warrior King Liam is from Albion. The Xeria Empire is the place where people most likely don't pray to Laias, believing in science and technology instead, but there are a few who do pray to Laias.

Goddesses: There are two known Goddesses in Orcana:

The Goddess Laias, Goddess of light, creation, and the heavens; the one the people in Orcana pray to

And the Goddess Naia, Goddess of darkness, destruction, and hell. This is the Goddess that the demons and monsters worship.

Locations

Nations:

Albion: The Realm of Albion is located in the Southeast. Albion is the Kingdom where the Legendary King Liam hails from, the King who rallied all living species in Orcana together 500 years ago and led the charge against the Demon King, Biriluk. King Liam is also known as Laias' Warrior of Light who saved the world and Albion does everything to live up to his legacy. Because of Liam and the wide belief that he had the Goddess Laias' favor, the Church of Laias has a large influence over the nation and many people in Albion follow Laias' teachings. Albion is the main setting of Valkyrie Dawn, being the nation, the guild resides in. The towns and cities in Albion are named after people and places in Arthurian legend. The capital of Albion is Excalía.

Xeria Empire: The Empire is the largest nation in Orcana and takes up most of the western part of the mainland. The Empire is an extremely militaristic nation and has their children as soldiers by the age of twelve at the youngest. They are also the most scientific and technologically advanced out of the three nations and commonly mix magic with technology. The Empire is also a land shrouded in conspiracy and corruption or so some say. But also a land that holds the key to the lost Kingdom of Apocrypha. The Xeria Empire is the nation that the guild Midnight Basilisk belongs to. Their towns and cities are named after old formidable fortresses. The capital of Xeria is Alcázar.

Caelestine: The realm of Caelestine is in the northeastern part of the mainland. Caelestine is an extremely religious nation, matching Albion in the faith of Laias or going even further. Those who can wield light or heavenly magic in Caelestine are considered extremely superior and those who cannot wield a form of light/heavenly magic are seen as inferior and weak. But there are still some decently good people in Caelestine. However, the young Queen of Caelestine is trying to change that, believing that everyone is valuable as long as they are willing to fight for the weak. An idea many look down on her for. The Kingdom of Caelestine is the nation that the guild Sol's Reverence belongs to. Their towns and cities are named after biblical locations. The capital is Bethalium.

Janoah- A small town at the base of the Anat Mountains

Sanctuary of Sage: This is a large island floating over the continent of Orcana. It is a neutral ground where people of all countries and all species can gather and study. Some of the strongest and smartest mages have studied here and the strongest mage, the Grand Mage watches over the Sanctuary as its guardian. Besides the Grand Mage, some mages are given titles. Titles are achieved by being the most accomplished mage in a certain category of magic. Currently, there are three, Crimson, Ash, and Green.

Guilds:

Valkyrie Dawn: This is the main Guild; it is in the country of Albion and stationed in the town of Artair. This guild was first founded in X572. The guild got its name from the fierce female warriors that helped King Liam defeat the Demon King. For the longest time, the guild was known as one of the strongest guilds of Orcana until something happened in X773; the town of Artair was almost destroyed and the guild was almost disbanded and marked as traitors of Laias and Orcana. The only reason why it wasn't was because certain powerful and wise people intervened. Even though Valkyrie Dawn stayed a guild, most of Orcana blamed them for the near-catastrophic event that could have destroyed Artair. Many people want nothing to do with the guild. In the present day, Valkyrie Dawn is trying to win Orcana's trust back and show that they are the loyal and strong guild that they once were.

Sol's Reverence: This is one of the guilds in the country Caelestine, stationed in the town of Zorinth. This guild was founded in X593. They are a holy guild and have a respectable reputation in the present day. Almost all of their mages can wield light magic and a good number of their members are snobby about it. Many of its members also follow the religion of Laias to varying degrees. They have many strong mages and once again are proud that many of their members use light or a type of heavenly magic. But while this guild may have some self-important people in it they are genuinely much better at compromising and accepting mages who don't use light magic since their Guild master is a supporter of the new Queen. However, they still do NOT accept mages that use any type of dark/shadow magic.

Midnight Basilisk: An extremely militaristic guild that is in the Xeria Empire and set up in the town of Aleppo. This guild is tough and doesn't allow for weakness, following the idea that the strong have more rights than the weak and that it is a dog-eat-dog world. The guild also tries to recruit immediately from the School of Science or the Military Academy, thinking that they deserve the best and brightest in their ranks. Though there is a mindset that the strong have more rights, there are many members who genuinely care about others and believe that being in this guild will help better the Empire, believing that they are doing good in this guild.

Dark Guilds:

Hydra's Wroth: An extremely cruel and cunning dark guild that has many connections to other dark guilds and organizations. They are willing to do anything it takes to get what they want, going so far as razing small towns and villages to the ground and using humans as experiments. They openly worship the faith of Naias and work together with demons and monsters. They are actively trying to actively keep the different species segregated. However, despite trying to ruin Orcana, no one seems to know their true goal. But whatever it is, they've made clear that they aren't afraid to destroy Orcana in the process.

Invisible Fenrir Created by LuciferXIII Trollkaiger Green: Is one of the oldest Dark Guilds on Orcana. Originally an extremely large Dark Guild filled with mid-tier Wizards, it specialized in human wave tactics and often sent large groups of Dark Wizards after high-ranked Light Wizards as targets for bounty hunting and specialized in group tactics against the Light-aligned Wizards, and was touted as the largest Dark Guild. It eventually started its decline because of its large membership and civil infighting and officially is documented as disbanding after a large civil strife in x716 and its members scattered and its name faded into obscurity. As of x779 a new Invisible Fenrir was born from the ashes of the old Guilds reputation, now as an exclusive high-profile assassin and information guild, specializing in producing only the highest quality assassins and information brokers with a small number of elite Dark Wizards. The structure and ranking system of the guild is known only to its members, it's noted that the average rank-and-file Invisible Fenrir Dark Wizard is considered easily on par with most A-Ranked Wizards of Light Guilds in one-on-one confrontations and even some S-Ranks depending on the situations. The new guild specializes in producing assassins, spies, and information brokers and holds a monopoly on the flow of information in the Orcana underworld. It is based in the Albion city of Agravin.

Species:

The species are: elves, fae, nymphs, draconoids (humanoid dragons), almäin (human-animal creatures)

In the story the reason why Ishgar believes that no other species are living in Orcana is that the other species have slowly become more and more segregated from human society, fae and elves now mainly live in the woods and forests, nymphs live closest to their elements, draconoids live in volcanic regions, etc.

The most integration that can be seen in humans and other species interacting is in Albion. There is much more segregation between humans and other species in countries like Caelestine and the Xeria Empire.
