AN ALTERNATE ENDING TO COSMIC FURY

"Ha, ha, ha! Is that all you got, Rangers? What am I saying, of course it is! I have the power of the Morphin' Masters, your weapons can't harm me, your Zords lie in ruin, and the universe is ripe for the picking." Lord Zedd or rather master Zedd said as he boasted about his upcoming victory.

"He really loves to hear himself talk…" Amelia said. They were in a pickle she admitted. So snarking about was all she had to distract herself.

"You have no idea, even when I had my…episode I couldn't stand his yammering." Ollie replied.

"Banter all you want, because it won't matter. I'm unstoppable…" Zedd said. It was then that Zedd felt an unpleasant sensation. Like someone took a super powered vacuum to every cell in his body. "What the…" He turned around to see Scrozzle knocked out and a few dead Zentinels. One Zentinel was controlling the Master Captivator and had aimed it at him. "What are you doing?"

The Zentinel shifted and turned into Mick Kanic. "Stopping you."

"Mick." The Cosmic Fury Rangers said delighted.

"How did you get here?" Izzy asked delighted.

"Shapeshifting, infiltrating, waiting for the right moment." Mick noted.

Zedd thought that between Slyther and Mick he should be more careful for shapeshifters in the future. But it should wait until after he got out of current events. He was being sucked inside. "No, it can't end like this." He dug his staff into the ground.

"Yes, it will!" Ollie grabbed his Tricera Blaster, ran up to Zedd, slammed the pointy weapon into his face, making Zedd loose grip and fly towards the device.

"Noooooooooo!" Zedd moaned as he was sucked inside.

Scrozzle, having woken up from being knocked down by Mick earlier saw Zedd being sucked in the device. "I'm out of here!" he said as he tried to activated his teleporter. But Zedd was just solid enough to grab him and drag him along. "No, not me!" and both Zedd and Scrozzle were sucked in, now they're just a red energy mass in the device.

"And now to take this somewhere safe. Yoink!" Mick said as he activated a teleporter, vanishing with the device.

"No! I was going to become rich…I mean richer…I would become the top evil CEO in the universe." Bajillia said. She then felt something jab her stomach. She had let her guard down and now the Cosmic Blaster was aimed at her point black, held by Fern and Izzy. "Oh no…"

"Regenerate from this, squidface!" Izzy said. Izzy pulled the trigger and the evil squid alien CEO was blasted point blank, and so utterly obliterated she wouldn't be able to regenerate.

The remaining Zentinels and Copyguards panicked and started to run around like chickens whose head was cut off. Without leadership they were lambs for the slaughter. Fern now took the Blaster and started to fire at the hordes of panicked footsoldiers. The other Rangers wisely ducked as Fern fired wildly. "I'm Fern, destroyer of evil!"

"Fern, calm down!" Izzy said.

"I'm sorry, I got carried away. Firing this thing makes me feel powerful." Fern said, blushing under her helmet.

"You already felt really powerful to me." Izzy said. "I'm sorry, that was an awkward flirt."

"I thought it was cute." Fern said.

"We all think it's cute but can you guys help us clean these mooks up?" Javi asked, cutting down Zentinels and a Copy guard with his axe weapon.

"Right…" the two girlfriends said as they got back to slaying evil monsters.

After taking care of the footsoldiers, and the cavalry of other Rangers in their Megazords having taken care of the Squid Drills in outer space, they were now back at their base. The Cosmic Fury Rangers have met with Mick and Billy.

"We got Zedd, nice wrapped up in a tube. Scrozzle's in there too. Being turned into a Morphin' Master made him vulnerable to his own device." Aiyon said. "That's what as they call it on Earth 'hoist by their own petard'…Did I get that right?"

"That is indeed right." Billy said. "With Zedd trapped and Bajillia gone, Squid Ink Inc. is falling apart, and won't be a threat at the moment. Other Ranger teams are cleaning up some remnants. Now all we need to do is separate the Morphin' Masters' energies from Zedd's. I will gather all the smartest Rangers and find a cure."

"And what do we do afterwards? We can't leave Scrozzle and Zedd in their tube and hide them away again. They tried that and somehow Bajillia found them." Javi asked.

"I have a few ideas." Ollie said with a smirk. An evil looking smirk…he really didn't like how Zedd turned him into his puppet twice.

Several weeks later, Billy, Mick, Solon and every other brainiac you can think off across the Power Rangers franchise had worked together and gotten the Morphin Masters out of the tube.

In a galaxy, with a star about to go supernova, a portal opened and the Master Captivator was flung through it. The portal closed, the star exploded and the Captivator and its contents were utterly vaporized.

"You were right, Ollie, that was an effective way to deal with it." Amelia said.

"A bit crude and a bit overkill, though." Solon noted.

"Couldn't take any risks, could we?" Ollie noted.

"While it normally not our way of doing things, I must admit that it is effective." The Red Morphin' Master said.

"We should have destroyed him when we had the chance." The Green Morphin' Master said.

"Hindsight is twenty-twenty, even for us." The Blue Morphin' Master said.

"So it's over? Zedd's gone for good this time?" Aiyon asked.

"There isn't another guy like Reaghoul out there, is it?" Amelia asked.

"Reaghoul was the last of his kind. While there are other necromancers, they won't have as easy a time. Also, Reaghoul lost control, with not many like him willing to risk reviving and losing control of Lord Zedd like he did." The Red Morphin' Master again.

"Also there isn't much left of Zedd so a reanimator is out of the question as well." The Blue Morphin' Master said. "It doesn't make it impossible to bring him back. Just…very unlikely."

"That's some relief I guess." Aiyon said.

"So we've won?" Izzy asked.

"For now. The battles Power Rangers face is never ending. New evils will rise up and will need to be fought." The Black Morphin' master said.

"Unfortunately we will not be able to say what those challenges will entail." The Blue Morphin' master said.

"But we can help in other ways." Zayto said. Oh right, he was about to become a Morphin' master. "I have a few suggestions though that will make sure you're prepared into the future."

"Wait, can he do that?" the Blue Morphin' Master asked.

"Hey, I didn't say anything specific, and neither confirmed or deny it'd be helpful against a specific threat that may or may not be incoming." Zayto said with a smug grin.

"Oh, I like you." The Green Morphin' Master said.

"Of course you would, you are both rule-benders." The Red Morphin' Master said. "But I promised to go easier and I'm too tired from being cooped up in a tube and inside of Zedd to complain."

The other Rangers looked at the scene bizarrely as the Morphin' Masters, always so regal are acting like they are loosening up. But it must have been a very tiring couple of months for them as well.

The heroes had to say goodbye to Zayto as he was now a new Morphin' Master, this time for good. It was a bittersweet moment. And a moment the writer doesn't bother recreating as it was fine as it is in the show. The heroes knew they'd face new challenges though. But at least they had help.

"And…done." Billy said. He made the final few modifications to the Cosmic Fury Rangers' Morphers. "I gave them the Master Morpher treatment, you all should be able to switch between Dino Fury and Cosmic Fury Ranger mode now."

"Thanks Billy, you're really spoiling us. You already helped us recreate our old Dino Fury Zords, and are busy rebuilding the Cosmic Fury Zords too…" Amelia said as she took the new and improved Morpher.

"I got the time, money, smarts and a whole network, why not use it to help my fellow Rangers."

"You also did the same for Zayto's…" Aiyon noted.

"Yes. While Zayto may no longer be around, it would feel incomplete if his Morpher wasn't modified too." Billy said.

"We can't replace Zayto…" Aiyon said solemnly.

"Rangers aren't replaced, just succeeded. They won't take Zayto's spot on the team, they will create their own niche." Billy noted. "I can know. Rocky, Adam and Aisha succeeded Jason, Zach and Trini. But while they wore their Ranger suits, they made their own legacy." Billy said.

"You're right, there would only be one Zayto. And I know that we may need a new Red Dino Fury/Zenith Cosmic Fury Ranger…It'll still be weird to have it not be him." Aiyon said.

"Zayto would be happy to know that there are still Rangers fighting for what's right. He'll want to give someone whom has that same drive to do the right thing, the chance to be that hero." Solon said. "I've known him for so long…" Solon also looked a bit solemn. A tear fell from her cybernetic eye. "Like my own hatchling."

"I know for a fact he also loved you like a mother, Solon." Aiyon assured her. "I am still sad, but I know he's not…gone, gone. He is still out there but he is doing things differently now. It's just that we don't get to see him. But he's in good company."

"To Zayto?" Amelia said as she raised her glass; They all had drinks on hand.

"To Zayto!" they all said.

"Well, peace and quiet wouldn't last." Amelia said. They had gotten report of a new enemy they'd face. "So, this was the enemy whom threatened Rafkon eons ago? They are what drove the Rafkonians to create the Sporix beasts?" she asked.

"Indeed. Dr. Drakkus, real nasty piece of work." Orria, the commander of the Rafkonian army explained. "The Sporix did their purpose in laying waste to his army and driving him off but…it also went at the cost of many Rafkonians' lives. After million of years he finally managed to rebuild his forces."

"Sounds like a piece of work. No worries, we'll be able to take him." Ollie said. "We have two sets of powers, we have our Zords back, we got a space base, he won't know what hit him."

"Thank you. I know that you will succeed in this, just like you did with the Sporix beasts." Orria said. "Now, I heard you still have no one to be the new Zenith Ranger?"

"Not yet but…we aren't in a hurry. We know we will need a new teammate eventually." Amelia admitted.

"I don't want to sound presumptuous but…I'd like to offer myself as a replacement." Orria said.

"You?" Aiyon asked. "And can I ask why?"

"I owe a lot to Zayto. Not so long ago I nearly made a mistake and tried to take over your world, because we thought we knew better. Because you, Zayto and many good Earthlings I was stopped from making a folly." Orria explained.

"We have long forgiven you and you have proven yourself a close ally." Amelia said.

"That's true. But…I feel like I still have more debt to pay off. So…please allow me to fight by your side on this."

"Do know that Amelia is in charge, so you are not the Commander on this team like you are with your people." Ollie reminded her.

"I am aware. And I'm willing to follow your lead in this." Orria said.

"Very well, then. But…while you have proven yourself to us…the Morpher holds the spirit of the Tyrannosaur. It will judge you of being worthy first. While we trust you, the spirit will determine if you are Ranger material." Aiyon said as he held up the Morpher.

"I will allow the spirit to pass judgement on me." Orria said as she put the brace on her wrist. She then waited for the device to react. After a few minutes of tense silence, the eyes on the Morpher glowed and they could hear the roar of the Tyrannosaurus. "Is that a bad thing?"

"It seems the Tyrannosaurus has accepted you as his new partner." Aiyon said. "Welcome to the team."

"I…I'm happy to help where ever I can." Orria said with a smile.

"So…Rafkon is destroyed, but the people live?" an evil emperor sat on his throne in his spaceship. He was talking to one of his generals, a toothy monster called Mawgick, whom simply enough uses the suit of the Wizard Minosaur.

"That is correct my liege." Mawgick said. "They have set up their colonies on Planet Earth, a world that has been crawling with Power Rangers. But on better news, there are no Sporix at least."

"Good. The Rafkonians nearly destroyed themselves using it, but I have no desire to run into those little bastards again. Without an ever regenerating army opposing my own, I will once again be able to lay claim to this universe." The villain said. "Gila, how are things proceeding on your end?"

A lizard woman with impressive assets and a labcoat came in followed by a few monsters. They were counterparts of the Griffin Minosaur, Mysterious Minosaur and the Director Minosaur. As well as a few foot soldiers that looked like robotic skeletons with sickle weapons. Among them there were a few larger, stronger looking robotic Grim Reapers with scythes. "The Skele-Bots, Robo Reapers and new breed of monsters are at your command, Dr. Drakkus."

"Good, you always are reliable, my dear." Dr. Drakkus said. Gila blushed at the praise."

"Hey, I'm reliable too…" another general resembling the Primogenitor Minosaur whined.

"I know, Tyrannis." Dr. Drakkus sighed. "When I need the general to brute force his ways through things, I can count on you."

"Yeah!" Tyrannis roared as a sort of battle cry.

"My army is set. Rakfonians, Rangers, none of them will stand in my way of universal conquest. Zedd was skilled but he's a relic of old. The Sporix respect strength but if you waver for a second, they won't hesitate turning on you. I will make none of their mistakes. I, Dr. Drakkus will succeed where they failed!" Dr. Drakkus fully revealed himself, his suit being that of Ryusoul Moria, and he did a cape flip.

"Whoa, that's a good speech." Tyrannis said.

"Thanks, I've been practicing it." Drakkus said, sounding a bit excited. "Full speed ahead, course towards Earth!"

NOTES

I liked Cosmic Fury, but I didn't like how Bajillia getting one over Lord Zedd. So here the Cosmic Fury cast is the one whom get rid of Zedd. And for good, without him being alive or Scrozzle escaping.

Also this is going to set up a few things in my universe. Since Cosmic Fury is mostly blending Ryusoulger, Kyuranger and a few suits of Lupinranger vs Patranger and Zyuohger, I will use this to springboard adaptations for those otherwise unused Sentai in this universe.

Anyhow, this one was brief and a bit rushed but I wanted to only have the brass tacks out.
