A/N: Five updates today. Hopefully everyone enjoys them.

Here we are, the Naruto-as-Morgott teaser that I mentioned awhile back.

Think of this as a test run of sorts; if folks enjoy it, it'll be made into its own story. If not, it remains in the bin.

Do let me know.

I'm not quite in the right headspace at the moment; its early over here, I'm tired/sick, and I have to go into work early because no one followed the instructions I left last night, so now I have to swoop in and make my staff explain why the bloody building was left unlocked and everything's a mess.

*Head meets desk*

Sometimes, I really hate being in charge.

Still, in a rare moment of forethought, I went ahead and these update prepared well in advance, just in case things went nuts, so here we are.

As ever, I own no quotes, references, quotes, themes or memes! They're simply tributes to legends far greater than I.

I'm just an old man who writes as a pastime. I don't make any money doing this, not a single cent.

I've kept you waiting long enough, ya know.

"It is only natural that those abandoned and persecuted by the prevailing Order of the world would desire to dismantle it? Indeed, Is it any wonder then, that I seek to change the world?

Oh yes, I am a pillager among pillagers, the Omen who would happily seize the very sun itself if it brought me power.

Why, you ask? Haven't you been listening this entire time? Because I have ambition.

Flame of Ambition

They cast him into the sewer.

As far as memories went it was Naruto's first true coherent memory in this strange second life of his; of being ripped from a warm embrace filled with light and cast into the dark fetid depths. His forehead struck the unfeeling flagstones, crusted with dirt and grime, he fought down a pained hiss. Were he a proper child, he might have cried. His twin brother Mohg, certainly did. But not him. He was too shocked by the sheer stupidity of what was happening to offer any coherent response.

Even if he wasn't, he could hardly offer much in the way of meaningful resistance at the omen. He was only three years old, after all.

Rather hard to put up a fight when you don't have proper muscle control yet, isn't it?.

Ah, but he digressed. They weren't done with him yet.

Of course they weren't. That would be too kind.

A pale hand ran over his horned head.

"Be well my sons." a woman's sad, regal voice intoned as someone threw a weather-beaten cloak over his shoulders. "Comport yourselves as befitting of your lineage and perhaps one day, the Greater Will shall allow thee to return. Godwyn and I shall visit when we can. Know that we shall not forget thee."

"Marika, this is absurd!" a man's voice protested somewhere above him. "They're just boys. You cannot do this. I will not allow it!"

"You will, or you shall join them, Godfrey. Is that your wish? To throw our plans into ruin?"

"They are but children!"

She sniffed. "They will be safe here from the horrors to come."

The man made an exasperated noise. "You truly believe that, don't you...?"

They were still arguing when the doors shut, sealing them away in the dark once more.

Naruto sighed into it.

He waited until he was certain the doors were closed; until he was certain no one could see, until all sense of them had returned to the world above.

Only then did he dare stand up.

"And things were going so well, too...

Eyes narrow, tailed twitching, he ran a hand across his horned head and swore softly. His horns hadn't grown long yet, but he had no doubt they would down here.

Here, forgotten and abandoned by the world.

Here, forced to fend for himself.

Here, in the depths.

Back to zero.

No blessings, no luck, forced to start from an even worse position than before.

Meh. He'd done more with less in his heyday. He would do so again. He'd claw his way back from Zero to Hero. They'd see. He would show them all. If they thought some piddly door seal could contain him down here forever while they live in luxury above, they had another thing coming. And better yet, he wasn't alone this time around. He had Mohg, to keep him company in these trying times...

.

..

...or he would, once the boy stopped weeping.

Such were the pains of reincarnation. He was already adapting, while his twin could not.

Naruto sighed, scooped up his wailing Mohg with his tail, picked a direction, and started walking. No time for rest, now.

"C'mon then, my crybaby brother." he hummed. "Don't break on me just yet. I need you...

There was work to be done.

A/N: And scene.

Hope this little tidbit of a teaser made you smile!

As ever, reviews are the fuel that sustain me. Without them I cannot write a single word. Simple as that. Working nearly all hours of the day keep me absurdly busy, as such, I can't bring myself to write something folks don't like.

Aaaand there we go. As ever, reviews keep me alive. Without them, I cannot write.

So...in the Immortal Words of Atlas...Review...Would You Kindly?

Only a few previews here. Sorry. In a lot of pain.

But here. Say hullo to best girl.

Kudos is you recognize her.

(Preview)

"So they threw you down here too, soldier?"

"Soldier?"

"What can I say? You look like one."

Naruto tilted his head. "And you look strange for an Omen."

"S'cause I'm not." the red-skinned little girl grinned back at him, swaying on her heels, hands clasped behind her back. "Not really. Its complicated." one hand rose to massage her broken horn, fingers ruefully running over the shattered edge. "I was trying to escape from...somewhere, that bit's s'not important, met a mouthy mage who thought he could help me, one thing led to another, and here I am. Long story short, I wound up here, looking like this." she looked down at herself with a grimace, ruefully regarding the loose leathers and rags she wore. "Not exactly the "fresh start" I wanted, but its better than my heart explodin' I suppose...

Strange, smiling, silly girl. "And you are...?"

"Name's Karlach. Nice ta meetcha." Quick as a flash, she offered him one such hand. "This place is pretty shitty, from what I've seen so far. Wanna be friends? There's strength in numbers and all that."

Heh. Fire go brrrr.

"Pillagers, emboldened by the flame of ambition." he rolled his eyes, turned, and whistled to Mohg as much as his men. "Take everything not nailed down!"

A giant lobster rushed him. He caught its broken pincer in hand, reared back, and delivered a horned headbutt to its skull.

Its hard shell cracked and it collapsed with a wordless, boneless gurgle.

Dinner was served.

EDIT: Hope you enjoyed this, and may your day be filled with lots of luck!

Warm regards,

~Nz.
