Heaven, Corridor
Metatron walked with a file in hand. Turning pages as he went. Pravuil's report was detailed.
The new department of Queues and Queuing was staffed. The Long Wait would be some soul's new normal. Once they started, they would not stop. Time would not run out until all had been judged.
Metatron had been surprised and then admired Aziraphale's plans. Everything was moving so well.
As expected, Crowley had been looking down beaten every day. He had stopped driving round London and seemed to be sleeping in the consulting room across from the bookshop. His brief visit to Heaven didn't go unnoticed. The reaction was another success. Very official.
He put the file down and it vanished.
Outside the door he didn't knock, he just strolled in
"Aziraphale!" he smiled
"So glad you are here. You caught me at a good time."
"Oh?"
"I've come up with, well, borrowed a idea. Little bit out of the box. I think we should do some Team Building"
"What sort of thing did you have in mind?"
"Nothing too distracting. Not paintball or karaoke"
"I thank you for that"
Both angels nodded in agreement.
"I was think perhaps, a large jigsaw? I was hoping you would come up with what the picture should be"
They sat in near silence. All there was, was the ticking of the clock. Metatron looked round the room. Feeling a little under pressure, something he wasn't used to. There were a few more ticks and tocks before he came up with an answer "Clouds?"
"Perfect. Never would have got there myself. Far too busy with other things. 100,000 pieces doesn't sound to much?"
"No, no. Just right. I'll even pop in and cheer them on, from the sidelines"
"I'm sure they will be glad of it"
"Is there anything else you need?"
"Yes. A miracle blocker, can't be having any keen angels looking to have the team built too quickly"
"Quite right. Yes." he produced a card from his inner jacket pocket and put it on the desk.
Aziraphale reached towards the card, but pressed the intercom instead.
"Yes, Sir?" the voice came out
"I've said before, I'm not formal"
"Yes, Sir"
"Can I borrow you for a minute?"
"Yes, Sir"
Pravuil came in and joined them at the desk. Aziraphale stood and made his request.
"Would you order a 100,000 piece jigsaw puzzle, with a lovely set of heavenly clouds, please? Metatron's idea." he beamed at the other angel, who looked modestly away.
Aziraphale grabbed the blocking card and with slight of hand made it vanish. He then blew on his hand and it re-appeared. "This is to go with it. No short cuts" he passed it to Pravuil.
"Quite right. I'll leave you to it" Metatron smiled bowed slightly and they left Aziraphale alone.
Sitting on his cloud, he opened the top drawer and pulled out a deck of cards, split and shuffled the pack. Holding it in one hand, he waved over the top of it. The three of diamonds came up out of it.
"Is this your..." he looked and saw it was the wrong one. Flustered, he dropped the cards and they scattered around the floor of cloud "card."
He knelt down to pick up the cards, finding the blocking card, a few layers down, he activated the token.
"At least no one was around to see that"
