"Mel what are you doing here?" A young Ameila Pond is happy to see her best friend Mel, forgetting about her other friend who is hiding.
"Just wanting to see you. Where's Rory?" Mel has a secret that she knows her two best friends can never know.
"It's Rory, he will come out, come on," Ameila takes Mel's hand and the two run up to her room.
A few hours later Rory comes in to find Amelia and Mel playing with the small box that Ameila made she calls a TARDIS. Rory has loved Ameila since the day they first met. She doesn't know. She will probably never know.

He puts papers in his briefcase and drives away

Mel just knows that her Dad has to be Rory, but Amy, her Mum, doesn't know it yet. After she drops the hint her Mum runs after her Dad.
"Rory, stop." Amy catches up to Rory at a small park.
"I am not gay."
"I know that now, why didn't you ever tell me?"
"Yeah, just tell your best friend that you have been in love with her since you were kids, and if she rejects you lose your two best friends," before Rory can finish his rant Amy grabs both sides of his cheek and kisses him.
"You wouldn't have ruined it." Rory stands there dumbstruck. "This weekend you are taking me out on a date, Rory Williams." He watches as she walks home.

"Mels, why am I so nervous about my date with Rory tonight?"
"Because you know this might be your last first date." Mels is getting tired of this secret of hers, she rebelled so much because it got her parents to act like parents as they were growing up.
"How?"
"You two are it for each other. Now let's get you in something that will take his breath away. Not that it will take much."
As Amy and Rory walk to where they are going out. "How was rounds?"
"Fine, I was counting down the hours for this."
"Mels had to help me out a little bit."
"With what?"
"Picking me something to wear."
"You are beautiful, not that you aren't always," Amy kisses him again.
"You don't have to backtrack with me."

Rory is pacing back and forth with a small red box in his hands thinking of how he is going to ask Amy, his girlfriend of three years to marry him. "Rory," she comes in, "I have Mels with me." Rory quickly hides the ring.
"What are you hiding Rory?"
"Nothing," Amy comes closer to him, he moves out of the way.
Mels comes up behind him and grabs the box, she too hides it with a large smile on her face. "Mels what is it?"
"I think this one time, I will keep Rory's secret."
Amy is about to say something, "Amy, I promise, well hope you will love it." Rory tells her.
Two weeks later Amy's family and Rory's family plus Mels are having dinner together. Amy looks to Rory who is on one knee. "Rory what are you doing?"
"Ameila Jessica Pond, you make me happy and I hope I make you happy. Will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?"
"Of course I will."

For many centuries the same man has protected the same box. "Amy, we still have 150 years until we see the Doctor again. I have changed with the times. The man known to history as the Lone Centurion changed with the times. The last time he was seen to the public was the night of the London Blitz; after that night he became a night guard where he waited the next few decades when he saw a young Ameila with her Aunt then again with the Doctor. As his Amy came out of the Pandorica they shared a kiss and the adventure started and they got married.

"Let's drop off the trio first," River tells her shell shocked parents. She plugs in coordinates to Victorian London and while the three that she isn't related to have no problem, she has to put her parents hands on the Vortex Manipulator. "Mum, Dad, is everything ok," she asks as soon as they get back to Leadworth.
"Melody," Amy almost cries as she hugs River to her tightly.
"Mum, I am ok, I am more than ok." Rory just stands there taking her in and the conversation.
"River, you said something."
"Spoilers Father, be careful with what you say, I may not have lived it yet." River says as Amy is still hugging her. "Come join the hug Father."

Months have gone by and no word from the Doctor, "Mels you don't understand we have a daughter out there somewhere."
"Amy, Rory, you will find her." Mels just wanted to scream, 'I am right here!' She looks at them, "why don't you do something to get the Doctor's attention to see if he has found her." They do just that and when Mels regenerates into River their lives are changed again. That night after making sure River was going to be safe at the hospital Amy and Rory go to their bedroom.
"Our daughter was our best friend," Rory states as a matter of fact.
"I am a horrible Mum."
"What do you mean?"
"I killed our daughter back in America to try and safe the Doctor."
"You did not know who she was at the time. Plus you probably saved her from being tortured more by Kovarian."
"I guess there's that."
"We also in a way raised her. Not in the way we would want," Amy's eyes go wide, "what."
"Our daughter has heard me talk about sex with you," Amy hangs her head on Rory's shoulder.
"Umm ok, she also made it so you and I would get together."
"That she did."

As the Doctor walks into the house he sees one other person, "River."
"Hello Sweetie, decided to surprise Mum and Dad?"
"After some advice from someone who almost lost her husband in World War 2." He goes to River and watches as Amy and Rory finish making dinner.
"How are they?"
"They are doing ok."
"Are they mad at me?"
"They understand what you did," they stop talking as Amy laughs at something Rory did.
"Dinner is served to my daughter and Son-in-Law," Amy says, trying not to grimace at the last part remembering what she did in the old timeline, right before she got married to Rory.

As they lay in the cemetery in a different century both know they will miss the Doctor but are looking forward to what their life will do now. Slowly Amy and Rory make their way out of it. "You blinked, didn't you?"
"Rory, you are my husband, I can't live without you. It has been you, always you, since we were kids playing with our daughter."
