Yamato took his hair out of his eyes and tried to concentrate on what he was writing. He tapped his pen against the notebook, a little irritated, ideas were not flowing. In the half light of the lamp, he faced the two lines of the new song he was writing. Too bad.

He was sitting on the bed, with the notebook on his lap. Gabumon was lying lazily by the bed. Yamato looked at the younger brother lying next to him, asleep. The blond hair strewn across the pillow; and Patamon, nestled in the mess of his hair, snored lightly.

Yamato smiled to himself, when was the last time he spent a few hours with his little brother? Little brother? Takeru was no longer a little brother for a long time. He had grown so much, become stronger and more determined, more than Yamato would ever be.

Now, they were both grown up and had their lives and hardly ever spent time together. Yamato was in high school, busy with the band and the girls in love with him. Takeru, on the other hand, was dedicated to sports, studies, friends and still needed to fight in Digiworld.

Yamato didn't understand why his brother had been chosen again. Why would he have to go through all that? All the suffering, the pain and the battles... his brother wasn't ready for that.

But he knew that Takeru was ready to face it all. Takeru had something that Yamato didn't have, something who motivated him, who gave strength to the young to continue. Yamato remembered each challenge, each fight that they had passed and unlike him, Takeru had faced all with head on.

"Yamato..." the youngest mumbled without opening his eyes.

"I'm here, Takeru."

"Aren't you going to sleep?" He asked, but he hardly waited for an answer and fell asleep again.

Yamato left the notebook aside, his stupid song could wait. Yamato pulled the covers off and covered both. He smiled to himself in the dark, enjoying the moment. For him, Takeru was just a child, his child.
