From This Moment On-Ch 1
It had been over a year, one long hard year since she left the safety and love of her BAU family and her best friend Derek Morgan, it's not like she wanted to leave but after the one drunken night of passion they shared their was no way that she could stay, no way she could stay and watch him marry another woman. She had waited until the team was away on a case before she left, that way she wouldn't have to tell them that she was leaving, she would just do the cowardly thing and leave, she knew that they would be both brokenhearted and mad at her but she just couldn't stay.
She was currently looking down into the face of her sleeping 3 month old son Hank, he was a mini version of his father, of the man that had long sense stolen her heart, after leaving she made sure to use her hacking skills to keep Kevin or anybody else from finding her. She had dyed her hair black and went from her glasses to contact lenses and changed her name from Penelope to Grace so that hopefully nobody would recognize her because if they did the past year would be for nothing, well she couldn't say that she regretted the past year because she didn't, she finally got to spend the night making love with Derek and from that night came her son, their son.
Penelope was one of the best hackers, if not the best in the world so the team knew that when they came back and she was gone that their would be no way for them to find her, they were all devastated, especially her best friend, her lover Derek. Derek had broken up with Savannah a couple of days before he spent the drunken night with his baby girl, ohhh how he wished he had told her that he was not with Savannah anymore but now any chance he had of telling her was gone.
Memories of that night played over and over in his mind, he still remembered every touch, every kiss, every time she raked her nails up and down his back as he thrust in and out of her, ohhhh how amazing it felt to finally be with her, to finally be able to show her how much he loved her. He had planned on telling her the next morning but when he woke up she was gone and by the time he got dressed and got ready to head to the BAU he'd gotten a call from JJ letting him know they had a case.
Before leaving for the case he walked down to Penelope's lair only to find her not there but found Kevin and when Derek asked where she was Kevin said, "she asked me to cover for her for a little while, she's gonna be late soooo here I am but don't worry about plum sauce she'll be here later". Derek weakly smiled and said, "uhhh, thanks Kevin", Kevin nodded his head and said, "sure no problem Derek, no problem" before starting the searches for the information that Hotch had asked for.
Over the year since she'd been gone Derek had tried to look for her, they all had, Kevin actually got close a couple of times but by the time they got to where she had been spotted she was already gone and nobody knew where she was, thus leaving the BAU once again without their oracle. Reid and JJ had reminded Derek on several occasions that if Penelope didn't want to be found that she wouldn't be to which Derek would only drop his head in sadness, he loved her and he wanted her back, ohhhh how he wanted her back.
Penelope had been several places like, Kentucky, New York, Pennsylvania and Texas but she was currently living in Utah, a little town named Miracle, when she was driving through town she grinned and said, "well I guess this is my miracle, my safe haven. She had now lived in Miracle for around 5 to 6 months and was settled into a nice two bedroom apartment that she shared with her son, the forever reminder of what might have been with Derek.
She worked at a diner through the day and left her son with an amazing older woman named Sheila who reminded her so much of Fran, Sheila loved little Hank and she didn't ask Penelope too many questions, she knew that when Penelope was ready that she would tell her everything so she decided to wait. Penelope had even been able to help the team out on several occasions, of course they didn't know anything about it and she was fine with that, the only thing that mattered to her was keeping her team of crime fighters safe, safe so that they could live to fight another day.
The team was currently sitting in the round table room discussing a case, when the meeting was over Hotch looked at the team and said, "grab your go bags because we're wheels up and heading to Utah, Miracle Utah" to which everybody nodded their heads yes before standing up and following Hotch out of the room. Derek walked into his office and grabbed his bag and blew out a deep breath and said, "I miss you baby girl but I will find you, I promise you that, I will find you and when I do I'll never let you go again".
A couple of minutes later they all stepped onto the elevator and before the doors closed Reid glanced over at his friend, this past year had been hard on him, hard on all of them but especially him, he only hoped that soon they would get the break they had been looking for, that they could find Penelope and bring her back home where she belong, back home to them and their family.
