Beacon Ballroom, Morning
As we see the sun shining on one of our fellow hunters in training by the name of Lie Ren. Ren is a young man with long black hair that ends midway down his back. There is a magenta streak on the left side of his hair. His eyes match the streak in his hair, and his clothing often appears to be influenced by Chinese culture. As he wears a dark green, diagonally-buttoned, long-sleeved tailcoat that is red on the inside, with black and gold trimming and pink cuffs. The trimming goes down the right side of his torso and forms a black collar. Along with this, he wears a black, long-sleeved shirt beneath the suit and light-tan pants with black shoes. He also ties his hair back in a low ponytail.
This color scheme he currently seems to be influenced to some degree by the lotus flower, which is his emblem.
As he looks up gaining his sight he sees fair-skinned young woman with orange hair and aqua eyes as he knows very well is Nora Valkyrie. She wears a collared black sleeveless vest, with a blue central front section with red accents, her vest has her emblem, on the back. Under the vest, she wears a white sleeveless t-shirt with a heart-shaped cutout above her breast line in the center accompanied with a pair of white detached sleeves on each arm, and a pair of light pink fingerless gloves. She sports a short pink skirt with a single white layer under it. Her white ankle boots sport pink soles with part of her emblem, the lighting bolt, on them and low heels with pink laces, the tops are folded over revealing the pink lining. She also wears a silver armor piece that wraps around waist, under her breasts and around the back on her neck with metal connecting each piece together at the front
Nora: Wake up, lazy butt! (dashes to the side)
Lie Ren gets up with a groan as Nora hounds him.
Nora: (singing) It's morning! It's morning! It's morning! It's morning!
Lie Ren sighs again.
Bathroom
The scene changes to him brushing his teeth in the restroom while Nora continues to talk.
Nora: I can't believe we've been at Beacon for a full twenty-four hours! Not that I thought we'd get kicked out or anything, I mean, you're the perfect student and I'm... well, I'm me! But it's just crazy, you know?
Ballroom
The scene changes to the ballroom, where the two are readying themselves. Nora is brushing her hair and still chattering while Ren is tightening the strings on his sleeping bag.
Nora: We've been friends for soooooooo long! What are the odds we'd still be together? Well, not "together-together..." Not that I'm not saying that you're not handsome; you are handsome, but that'd just be weird, right?
Cafeteria
The scene changes again as the two are in the middle of eating their breakfast, Nora having a pancake hanging from her mouth as she is still talking.
Nora: (muffled through her food) Right! What was I thinking? But still, I hope we end up on the same team together! (slurps up the rest of her pancake) Oohhhh! We should come up with some sort of plan, to make sure we end up on the same team together! What if we bribe the headmaster? No, that won't work. He has the school.
Locker Room
The scene changes again as the two are readying themselves in the locker room, Ren loading StormFlower and Nora still talking.
Nora: I know! We'll have some sort of signal! Like a distress signal! (gasps) A secret signal so we can find each other in the forest! Can you imitate a sloth?
Ren: (finally replying) Nora?
Nora: Yes, Ren?
Ren: (sheathing his weapons in his sleeves) I don't think sloths make a lot of noise.
Nora: (thinks about this for a moment) That's why it's perfect! No one will suspect we're working together!
Ren: (smiling and shutting his locker) Come on Nora, let's go.
Nora: Not "together-together..." (giggles)
Ren heads out while a skipping Nora follows, passing Ruby Rose and Yang Xiao Long as they are busy readying themselves.
Ruby: Wonder what those two are so worked up about?
Yang: Oh, who knows? So, you seem awfully chipper this morning!
Ruby: Yep! No more awkward small talk or "getting-to-know-you" stuff. Today, I get to let my sweetheart do the talking. (strokes Crescent Rose as she sighs happily)
Yang: Well, remember, Ruby, you're not the only one going through initiation. If you wanna grow up, you're gonna have to meet new people and learn to work together.
Ruby: (sighs in frustration) You sound like Dad! (shoves her weapon into the locker) Okay, first of all: What does meeting new people have to do with fighting? And secondly: I don't need people to help me grow up! I drink milk!
Yang: But what about when we form teams?
Ruby: (suddenly nervous) Um, I don't know, I... I'll just be on your team or something...
Yang: (Bringing her hair around her shoulder and stroking it) Maybe you should try being on someone else's team?
Ruby: My dear sister Yang, are you implying that you do not wish to be on the same team as me?
Yang: What? No! Of course I do! I just thought... I don't know, maybe it would help you... break out of your shell!
Ruby: What the-?! I don't need to 'break out of my shell'! That's absolutely-
Jaune: Ridiculous! (suddenly walking in between the sisters, holding a map and looking lost) There's no way I put my gear in locker 636 yesterday! I would've remembered having to count that high! Why does this have to happen today?
Jaune passes Weiss Schnee and Pyrrha Nikos as they ready themselves at their lockers.
Weiss: So, Pyrrha, have you given any thought to whose team you'd like to be on? I'm sure everyone must be eager to unite with such a strong, well-known individual such as yourself!
Pyrrha: Hmm... I'm not quite sure. I was planning on letting the chips fall where they may.
Weiss: Well... I was thinking maybe we could be on a team together.
Pyrrha: Well, that sounds grand!
Weiss: Great!
The background disappears into a thundercloud as Weiss adopts a scheming pose and manic smile in her head.
Weiss: (In Her Thoughts.) This will be perfect! The smartest girl in class combined with the strongest girl in class! Together we will be unstoppable! I can see it now! We'll be popular! We'll be celebrities! We'll get perfect grades! Nothing can come between us now!
Until a certain someone came in and interrupted her monologue.
Jaune: (coming between them and interrupting Weiss' evil train of thought) You know what else is great? Me. Jaune Arc. Nice to meet you.
Weiss: (irritated) You again?
Pyrrha: (hurriedly letting herself be seen) Nice to meet you, Jaune!
Jaune: Yeah, yeah. (pushes Pyrrha aside and talks to Weiss, posing slightly) So, Weiss, couldn't help but overhear your fondness of me the other day.
Weiss: Oh, you've got to be kidding me!
Jaune: Don't worry! No need to be embarrassed! So, been hearing rumors about teams! I was thinking you and me would make a good one! What do you say?
Pyrrha: (getting Jaune's attention) Actually, I think the teams are comprised of four students each, so-
Jaune: You don't say. (advances on his new target) Well, hot stuff, play your cards right and maybe you could join up with the winning team.
Weiss: (separating the two) Jaune, is it? Do you have any idea who you're talking to?
Jaune: Not in the slightest, snow angel.
Weiss: This is Pyrrha.
Pyrrha: Hello again!
Weiss: Pyrrha graduated top of her class at Sanctum!
Jaune: Never heard of it.
Weiss: (scoffs) She's won the Mistral Region Tournaments four years in a row! A new record!
Jaune: The what?
Weiss then went mad as she then raised her arms in the air and told him of Pyrrha celebrity status again.
Weiss: (waving her arms rapidly in anger) She's on the front of every Pumpkin Pete's Marshmallow Flakes box!
Jaune: (gasping suddenly) That's you?!
We then see the design of the cereal box in question is seen with Pyrrha's smiling face on it.
Jaune: But they only do that for star athletes and cartoon characters!
Pyrrha: Yeah, it was pretty cool. Sadly, the cereal isn't very good for you.
Weiss: (appearing as the box design crumbles behind them) So, after hearing all of this, do you really think you're in a position to ask her to be on your team?
Jaune: I guess not... Sorry... (hanging his head)
Pyrrha: Actually, Jaune, I think you'd make a great leader!
Jaune: (immediately brightening back up) D'oh, stop it!
Weiss: Seriously, please stop it. This kind of behavior should not be encouraged!
Jaune: Sounds like Pyrrha's on board for Team Jaune. Spots are filling up quick! Now, I'm not supposed to do this, but maybe I could pull some strings, find a place for you. What do you say?
Weiss: All right, that's a bit too close! Pyrrha, a little help, please?!
Jaune looks back just in time to see Miló Pyrrha weapon strike him, sending the would-be leader flying off in the column.
Pyrrha: I'm sorry!
An announcement plays on the intercom system.
Glynda (Intercom): Would all first-year students please report to Beacon Cliff for initiation? Again, all first-year students report to Beacon Cliff immediately.
Weiss passes Jaune as he hangs from the wall of a locker on her way out. Pyrrha follows her, grabbing her spear and dropping Jaune to the ground.
Pyrrha: It was nice meeting you!
Jaune: (slumping against the locker) Likewise...
He is then greeted by the girls as they stare at Jaune luck with Women.
Yang: (as she and Ruby approach) Having some trouble there, lady-killer?
Jaune: I don't understand. My dad said all women look for is confidence! Where did I go wrong? (accepts Ruby's offered hand and uses her to lift himself back up)
Yang: "Snow Angel" probably wasn't the best start.
Ruby: Come on, Jaune, let's go.
Ruby leads Jaune out of the locker room by supporting him and his damaged self-esteem.
Near the Emerald Forest
We go to the Beacon Cliff, overlooking a forest, where several students some old, some new, and some unseen, are standing on silver tiles in front of a mug-holding Professor Ozpin and Glynda with her tablet.
Ozpin: For years, you have trained to become warriors, and today, your abilities will be evaluated in the Emerald Forest.
Glynda: Now, I'm sure many of you have heard rumors about the assignment of "teams." Well, allow us to put an end to your confusion. Each of you will be given teammates... today.
Ruby: What? Ohhh...
Ozpin: These teammates will be with you for the rest of your time here at Beacon. So it is in your best interest to be paired with someone with whom you can work well.
Ruby: (groaning)
Ozpin: That being said, the first person you make eye contact with after landing will be your partner for the next four years.
Ruby: (the shocked expression mirrors her world cracking like glass and falling apart) Whaaaat?!
Nora: (to Ren) See? I told you-!
Ozpin: After you've partnered up, make your way to the northern end of the forest. You will meet opposition along the way. Do not hesitate to destroy everything in your path... or you will die.
Jaune laughs nervously and then gulps loudly.
Ozpin: You will be monitored and graded through the duration of your initiation, but our instructors will not intervene. You will find an abandoned temple at the end of the path containing several relics. Each pair must choose one and return to the top of the cliff. We will regard that item, as well as your standing, and grade you appropriately. Are there any questions?
Jaune: (raising his hand) Yeah, um, sir?
Ozpin: Good! Now, take your positions.
Everyone strikes a pose on their tile. Nora crouches low, Ren wields his weapons, Yang raises her fists, Ruby readies her body, and Jaune is still raising his hand.
Jaune: Uh, sir? I've got, um... a question.
As Jaune tries to get his answer he misses the tile under Weiss rising up into a springboard, rocketing into the air and over the forest, as the platforms activate down the line.
Jaune: So, this landing... strategy thing... Uh, wha-what is it? You're, like, dropping us off or something?
Ozpin: No. You will be falling.
Jaune: (missing more students being thrown) Oh, uh, I see... So, like did you hand out parachutes for us?
Ozpin: No. You will be using your own "landing strategy."
Jaune: (still not seeing an excited Nora and Ren getting launched) Uh-huh... Yeah.
At Yang's turn, she winks at her younger sister, puts on a pair of aviators, and flies off with a "Woo-hoooooooo!" a second before Ruby joins her.
Jaune: So, what exactly is a landing strategYYY!...
He asks this part just when he finally has to get hurled with the cloud of students now making their way down into the forest below under the eyes of the teachers. Ozpin, for his part, simply takes a sip of his drink before we have an overhead view of Emerald Forest, where a black bird is flying slowly and magnificently, right up to the moment it gives a final shriek and Ruby crashes through it in a burst of feathers as she plummets downward.
Ruby: Birdie, no!
Ruby fires off a few rounds from Crescent Rose to slow her down, then turns the weapon into its scythe form to catch the branch of a tree in her blade and fall downward at a slower pace.
Weiss, armed with Myrtenaster, summons a white snowflake circle under her and leaps off of it to the forest below.

Ren descends (with Nora Valkyrie briefly being seen next to him at a faster speed) and spins in the air, eventually using StormFlower's blades to spiral around the trunk of a large tree and hit the ground, brushing off his clothes before looking up to see... Yang and she looked like she was having a Blast.
Yang: Woo-hoo! Yeah! Alley-oop!
Yang, soaring right over the treetops, was using her gauntlets and its fiery force to push her through the air further and further north, spinning and laughing with each blast, even when she crashes through the leaves of a tree and leaps off two trunks to tumble to the ground.
Yang: Nailed it! (runs off)
Pyrrha, her weapon in sword form and armed with a shield, crashes through several trees and rolls on a branch, immediately shifting her blade into a rifle and looking through the scope at Jaune as he continues to scream and fall helplessly. Pyrrha coolly transforms her weapon again to its spear form, takes a moment to evaluate her throw, and rockets the javelin deep into the forest until a "THUNK!" is heard.
Jaune: (in the distance) Thank you!
Pyrrha: (waving) I'm sorry!
We then see Khnurn Bek as he was flying in the air when he starts to go into the tree line he used his Wraps as a way to slow down and grab each branch as he swung in the air before wrapping around one branch and landing on it before fixing his wraps to go around his arms again and tightening them. He then jumps down and used his weapons Dessert Curse on the tree and slides down it easy.
We cut to Alucard Harker as he was in the air still holding onto his hat and glasses while his weapon Fanged Cross was on his back as he burst through the branches before going headfirst into a Rock leaving cracks on it as his body went limp we see blood starts to fall from the cracks. It was clear he was dead... but then the blood went back into into the cracks and into him and his hand twitched before planting them on the rock and he pulled his head out. As he shakes his head he easily fixes his broken neck as he slightly adjusted it. As he looks at his hat as it was as flat as a pancake and the glasses that he wore were very broken he moans before dropping the two and heading in a certain direction.
We cut to Rank Stein was flying in the air before he used his Semblance Lightning to help himself as his hands created some form of Static electricity as it allowed him to hover in the air before slowing down to land as he lands on the ground easily it was clear that Ranks has more control over his power then generating Electricity.
We go and see Duncan Grimm as he felt his heartbeat go a million miles a per second and his eyes went vertical as his fingernails extended a bit and his teeth slightly elongated as he hit a few trees and sliced one tree as he spun around it leaving five distinct claw marks until he stops and detached his claws from the tree and suddenly closed his eyes and breathing calmly as his heart slowed down. When his heart was at normal pace his fingertips went back to normal and teeth canine went down and when he opened his eyes they were back to being round, calmed down he once again started to run.
In the middle of the forest, Ruby lands in a crouch, then darts off with a single mantra in her mind.
Ruby: (thinking) Gotta find Yang! Gotta find Yang, gotta find Yang, gotta find... (shouting) Yang! Yaaaang! (internally, now seeing herself partnered with various people) Oh, this is bad, this is really bad... What if I can't find her? What if someone finds her first? Well, there's always Jaune. He's nice. He's funny! ...I don't think he's very good in a fight, though. Ooh! What about Blake?! So mysterious, so calm... Plus she likes books! Then again, I'm not sure I'd be able to hold a conversation with her... Ugh! There's Bek very good in a fight and so mysterious though I think he's too serious for me. Duncan is kinda funny and dependable and can smell things although he is a bit weird in general. (shakes her head of daydreams) Okay... Who else do I know in this school? There's Yang, Bek, Jaune, Blake, Duncan, aaaand...
Suddenly she someone walks across her by someone walking into the forest as the two collided and roll on the ground in a black and Red ball before they take someone else with them as it was Weiss as she was surprised until the Red and Black then turned into a Red, Black, and White ball until they hit the tree where we see Ruby, Weiss on the ground as Ruby was sitting ontop of someone back.
As Weiss looks up at Ruby in annoyed anger Ruby looks down in an apologetic look.
Ruby: Sorry. It was an accident! I swear!
Weiss: Never have I- UGH!
Weiss then got up and went the other way as Ruby looks down in sadness as she then noticed it was a boy with a Wolf Tail and Wolf ears as she was surprised to see a Faunus with two animal traits as he looks dizzy before he regained his senses and looked up to the Bewildered Ruby. As the two then scrambled away from each other and stands up as she smiled briefly before he smiles as well and both were laughing briefly.
???: So uh, I'm sorry for, you know getting in your way.
Ruby: I'm uh, sorry to I never seen you at school?
???: I didn't go to school. My name is Desmond Grimm and you are?
Ruby was shocked to see Duncan Little Brother. I mean his hair was Black and Duncan was Silver. Though his eyes are yellow the same color as his older brother.
Ruby: Grimm? You wouldn't be related tooo... Duncan?
Desmond was now worried as his tail stiffened up and his eyes widen in shock as he sweated a bit as if she knew his big bro.
Desmond: (Worried.) Is Duncan by chance here?
Ruby: Well, he's in the forest and--
Desmond then used his semblance Gust and quickly ran away from Ruby as she was shocked to find another speedster like her around.
Ruby: Wait! I-- (Groans.)
As she looks around she immediately feels bad as there seemed to be no one around to talk to.
Ruby: We're supposed to be teammates...
We cut Weiss is seen struggling through the forest, giving an occasional grunt or "Ow!" as she pushes plants out of her way. She brushes herself off and sighs in relief when she hears a voice above her.
???: (apparently struggling to free himself) Come on, come on! Stupid...!
Weiss sees Jaune hanging a few feet in the air by the spear embedded in his hood and the tree behind him. As he gives up trying to pull it out, he looks down and sees Weiss, giving an embarrassed wave. Weiss simply heads back in the direction she came from and Jaune groans in dejection.
Weiss then passes Ruby and pulls on her hood as she begrudgingly accepted her as somewhat a teammate.
Weiss: By no means does this make us friends.
Ruby: (overjoyed as she's dragged away into the bushes) You came back!
Jaune seeing the scene and waving his arms to get their attention.
Jaune: Wait! Come back! Who's going to get me down from here?!
???: Jaune?
Jaune looks down at his savior as she smiles at the helpless man before her.
Pyrrha: Do you... have any spots left on your team?
Jaune: (crossing his arms) Very funny... (he eventually looks down at her and gives a smile, which she returns)
Elsewhere
The scene changes to Duncan as he was running as he seemed to be lost.
Duncan: Where am I?
He is soon met by a Tackle as he stares at his attacker which was none other then Desmond as he ran away from his clan.
Duncan: Desmond?
Desmond: Duncan.
Duncan had a less amused face as he couldn't believe his Brother left the clan without permission from the Chief.
Duncan: You--
Then a few branches fall and we see Rank as he was armed with his Maul hammer Lightning Storm and sees the two on the ground and his glasses suddenly were bright as we couldn't see his eyes and turns around with his hand up.
Rank: I didn't see anything.
Duncan: WAIT! It's not what it looks like he's my brother!
Then suddenly Weiss trudging through the forest, with Ruby back a ways behind her as they see what was before them until Rank goes by her and cover both her and Ruby eyes with his hands.
Rank: Don't look. There weirdo's around here.
Duncan & Desmond: WHO'RE CALLING WEIRDO?!
As the two in comical fashion had enlarged heads and jagged teeth as they didn't like being called weirdo's.
Weiss: Anyway it's good to see you Rank.
Rank: Likewise, Mrs Schnee. We must head to where we need to go.
Weiss: Good idea.
Ruby: What's the hurry?
Weiss and Rank go in the same direction as Weiss continues to talk as Duncan, Desmond, and Ruby are behind.
Weiss: I will not let my mission be delayed because you're too slow! I swear, if I get a bad grade because of your— (a smiling Ruby suddenly appears next to her) What the...?
Ruby: I'm not slow, see? You don't have to worry about me!
Weiss: (looking back, slightly amazed) When did...?
Ruby: Weiss, just because I don't exactly know how to deal with people doesn't mean I don't know how to deal with monsters! (gets an arm around a skeptical Weiss' shoulders) You're about to see a whole different side of me today, Weiss, and after it's all over, you're going to be like, "Wow! That Ruby girl is really, really cool... (somewhat mousily) and I wanna be her friend!"
Ruby disappears in a shower of rose petals, which Weiss waves away from her face just as she hears crackling and rustling in the bushes around her.
Weiss: (calling out to Ruby) You may be fast, but you still excel at wasting time!
Then Duncan, and Desmond sniff the air and recognized who was there as they grab their weapons as Weiss who didn't hear Ruby but noises were still being made.
Weiss: Ruby?
Duncan: It's not Ruby.
The forest darkens, forcing Weiss to lean in to try and find her new partner as a pair of red eyes are seen glaring behind her.
Weiss: Ruby...?
Duncan: Get Behind us.
As Rank brings Weiss close to his chest Weiss briefly blushed as Duncan and Desmond get low and growl at their enemies
As wry revolves around Weiss, Rank, Duncan, and Desmond as multiple pairs of red eyes stare at her from the bushes and a deep growl is heard. They turn around until see a large, jagged Beowolf emerging from a bush and approaching them..
Weiss: Ruby!
The Beowolf roars as the scene goes black.
