Harry Potter Potion Master
A loud pop was heard and the house elves that were working in the entrance way quickly stood back as the young master and the head house elf appeared in the room. Quickly the rest of the house elves popped into the room, wanting to see young master Harry. A hush fell over the room as the elves watched with wide eyes as the young master staggered slightly as he appeared with Misky.
"What was that?!" Harry asked Misky with wide eyes as he tightened his grip on his trunk as his animal friends made protesting noises at the movement.
"That was house-elf popping, master Harry. It is what us house-elves use to get to different places." Misky looked around and a small frown appeared on her face, "Front and center, team!" she clapped her small hands and all the other house-elves quickly gathered and lined up in front of young master Harry and Misky. "We will start with the females first, this is Tolky, she is the cook for the Potter family."
A middle aged female house elf walked forward, she was wearing a cook hat and a slightly stained apron. "Welcome back young master, Harry." Tolky gave a little curtsy, "I remember you as a baby. In fact most of us do."
Harry grinned and nodded, "It's a pleasure to meet you Tolky."
Tolky smiled, " I was around when your father and his friends were children. Please come to me if you want stories about him."
Harry's smile widened as he thanked her.
"This is Wolly, master Harry." Misky said as she motioned to the next house-elf who wore overalls and gardening gloves. "She is the gardener for the Potter family home."
Wolly stepped forward as Tolky stepped back. "Hi master Harry." she said in a soft voice as she looked down at her feet and twisted her hands together, "I take care of the garden, the veggie garden, the fields, and the green houses where the potion ingredients grow."
Harry smiled and nodded at Wolly, "Nice to meet you Wolly! I am excited to see the gardens."
Wolly blushed and stepped back in line quickly.
Misky sighed at the sight of the shy house-elf before shaking her head and waved for the next elf to come forward, "This is Tisky, she is going to be your personal house-elf. She will always come when called and will help with anything personal.
A young adult House-elf in a green skirt and blouse stepped forward and smiled at Harry, "Hello young master Harry! I can be anything that you need me to be. I can be a servant, a secret keeper, a friend, or whatever you want me to be."
Harry nodded towards Tisky with a small smile on his face, " It's nice to meet you Tisky, I hope we can get along."
Tisky nodded and bounced on the balls of her feet, "I hope so to, Master Harry!"
Misky shooed the house elf back into the line before beckoning the last of the females out of the line, "And this is Geeky, she is the tailor for the house of Potter."
Geeky stepped forward and curtsied, "Hello master Harry. I will be outfiting you with new clothes if you need them. Also if you need the clothes you already have to be altered, I will do so gladly."
Harry looked at the elderly elf who was wearing a blue skirt and a white blouse. "I already got some clothes, but if you want to look at them you may."
Geeky smiled softly before returning to the line.
"We can start on the male elfs now, master Harry." Misky said before pointing out an elf who wore overalls and a hat. "This is Marry, he takes care of the animals on the estate."
Marry stepped forward and bowed while taking off his hat, "It is nice to meet you master Harry."
"What kinds of animals are here?" Harry asked politely.
"Farm animals for food and some magical animals who looked for sanctuary." Marry replied, "We even keep a few bee hives for the honey."
Harry grinned, "Cool!"
Marry nodded before stepping back into the line.
Misky smiled at Mary before motioning the next elf to come forward and introduce themselves.
An elf wearing a butler suit and white gloves stepped forward and bowed at Harry with his hand across his chest. "I am Noddy, master Harry. I'm the butler for Potter manor."
"Thank you for working for my family, Noddy." Harry said with a smile.
Noddy bowed again before stepping back into the line.
Before Misky could gesture to the next elf to come forward, he already jumped towards Harry with a big grin while bouncing on the ball of his feet.
"Hi! I'm Loopy! I clean the manor! I am so excited to see you return home, master Harry!" the young elf in dress pants and shirt said loudly while grinning.
Harry smiled brightly at the young elf, "Are you the only one who cleans? I can help if it's too much for you."
Loopy shook his head in horror, "Oh never, master Harry. I can take care of the manor by myself, and if I ever need help I ask for it from the other elves who are not working at the time. But cleaning is the house elf's job, never yours master Harry!"
Harry looked shocked for a second before nodding, "Okey, if you say so Loopy."
Loopy nodded before stepping back into the line.
Misky sighed, "I'm sorry about that, master Harry. Loopy has always been very excitable." she shook her head before gesturing for the next house elf to step forward.
As the young elf in blue pants and shirt stepped forward, he tripped on his own feet.
Harry quickly caught him before he could hit the ground, "There we go, you all right?"
The elf blushed, "Sorry about that master Harry. I am always very clumsy. I'm Sooky. I wash the dirty clothes and linen. As well as tablecloths and napkins."
Harry smiled softly at Sooky, "It's nice to meet you Sooky."
Sooky blushed again and stumbled back into the line.
The last elf stepped forward, wearing a white doctor's coat. " I am Wooby, master Harry. I serve as the healer of house Potter. However, if something is out of my ability to treat, I will call saint mungo's for help."
"Saint mungo's?" Harry asked, "What's that?"
"It's a hospital for wizards and witches." Wooby explained before stepping back into the line.
Misky clapped her hands, "You may all go back to your duties now." she said.
All the house elfs bowed to Harry before popping away. Harry smiled gently before actually taking the time to look around at where he was. Immediately his breath was torn away as he gaped at the sight of the hall. He was in what appeared to be the entrance hall of the manor, a long room with tapestries on either side of the walls. A large golden chandelier hung from the ceiling. "This place is huge!" Harry exclaimed as he looked around.
"Oh no, master Harry! This is the entrance hall. We have not stepped into the manor proper." Misky explained. She then started trotting towards the door at the end of the hall, then stopped and hit herself over the head. "I should have remembered." she muttered to herself. "Tisky!" she shouted out.
Tisky popped into view, "Yes, Misky?" she asked as she glanced at Harry first.
"Please take master Harry's things to his room please." Misky told Tisky.
"Yes of course." Tisky quickly looked at Harry's trunk and snapped her fingers. The trunk disappeared with a sharp pop. "Can I help in any other way?" she asked.
Misky shook her head, causing her ears to whip around. "That's it for now. Thank you, Tisky."
Tisky nodded her head, curtseyed at Harry, and vanished with a pop.
Misky nodded to herself before gesturing at Harry, "This way to the main hall, master Harry."
Harry blinked at the interaction between the two elfs before nodding himself, "Coming." and fell in step with the small house elf.
Misky trotted towards the door at the end of the hall, before snapping her fingers again once they reached the door. The door immediately flew open and both the elf and master walked into the main hall.
Harry's eyes bugged out as he took in the main hall. It was easily as large as the Dursleys' house. A large crystal chandelier sparkled from on high. "H…how big is this place?"
The house elf tilted her head, "The manson? Four floors plus the dungeons."
"Dungeons?!" Harry squeaked, "We keep prisoners here?!"
Misky shook her head quickly, "Oh, no, master Harry. During the first war with Grindelwald we did with his followers until they could be tried. But since then it has been turned into several other rooms."
Harry let out a breath, "Okay, what type of rooms does it have now?"
"Well, we have the dueling room, practice room, exercise room and the pool." Misky explained. She then pointed to a stairway next to a set of stairs that went up. "If you go through that doorway, there is a set of stairs going down. That is where the dungeons are. Oh, and there is also the Ward stone room."
With a nod, Harry straightened his shoulders, which caused Hedwig to flap her wings to get a better grip on Harrys' shoulder.
"Be more careful hatchling!" Hedwig scolded as she nipped Harry's ear gently.
Harry winced, "Sorry about that Hedwig." He apologized immediately, before noticing that Misky was staring at him with wide eyes.
"You are a beast speaker? The Potter family hasn't had a beast speaker in several generations! This is a good sign!" Misky clapped her hands together.
"Wait, it is a bloodline thing?" Harry asked. "I just thought it was something all magic people could do." he rubbed the back of his head.
Misky nodded, " Beast speaking has popped up in the Potter family line every so often. I think it is only in the Potter line, I have not heard of another wizard or witch who had it." She smiled brightly at Harry. "Your parents would have been so proud of you!"
"They would?" Harry asked softly with a slight blush crawling up his neck. "Why?"
The elf bounced on the balls of her feet, "Late master James had always wanted to be a beast speaker growing up. He would play with all the animals trying to get closer to them, hoping that he would one day understand them."
Harry nodded with a small smile. "Thank you for telling me about that, Misky." he looked around the room again. "Should we continue the tour then? I would like to see more of the mansion."
Misky nodded, she pointed to the door to the left. The door had two suits of armor, one on either side of the door. "That door leads to the dining room, it sits twelve. Inside is a door to the kitchen and inside the kitchen is a door to the house elves bedroom." she then pointed to the door to the right, this one also had two suits of armor, one on either side of the door. "That door leads to the drawing room. It has two couches facing each other for conversation." Misky then pointed to a bookshelf that was built into the wall. "That bookshelf is a hidden door. It leads to the library. There are lots of books about all sorts of things in the library. Also there are books on family magic in there." She then pointed at a door to the right of the stairway going up. "That is the Floo room."
Harry interrupted Misky. "What is Floo?" he asked.
Misky started, "The Floo is a magical way of getting around. It's a large fireplace. There is a pot of Floo powder on the mantle. You take a pinch of floo powder and throw it into the fire, the fire will turn green and you step into the flames. Then state clearly the destination that you want to go. The destination must have a fireplace that is also connected to the Floo. After you state your destination, the magic will take you to that fireplace." she smiled at Harry.
The boy nodded, "Thanks for clearing that up for me."
"Your welcome, master Harry. Now on the other side of the stairs going up is a stairway going down into the dungeons. We already talked about that one. Let's go to the next floor." Misky started trotting up the stairs.
Harry blinked before running to catch up to her. Together they got to the next floor, it was a long hallway full of doors. At the end of the hallway was another staircase going up.
"In the first room is the portrait room. It has all the paintings of the Potter family. In the magic world, paintings move and talk." The small house elf explained, "They also hold the memories up to their death."
Harry immediately opened the door to the portrait room and stepped in. The walls were filled with paintings, all in different clothing across the past. The paintings were asleep but as soon as Harry had stepped inside the room, all the portraits woke up.
"Well hello! And who might you be, young man?" a painting of a lovely woman asked. She had dark hair and aristocratic features, underneath her frame was a sign with the name Dorea Potter ne Black on it.
"Hi, I'm Harry Potter." the boy nervously said. "How are we related?"
"Harry?" another woman from a different portrait asked, "Is that you sweetie?" underneath her frame was a sign with the name Lily Potter ne Evans.
"Hello? Who are you?" Asked Harry, looking at the red haired woman with green eyes.
"I'm your mother, haven't you seen a picture of me before? Or know my name?" Lily asked, startled that her own son didn't know her.
"I'm sorry, but the Dursleys didn't tell me anything. Just that you and dad died in a car accident." Harry apologized. "That's why I didn't know you."
Lily frowned, "Wait you went to Tunea's place? Why? You were supposed to go to your godfather Sirius Black. Or your godmother Alice Longbottom. You were never supposed to go to your aunt's. We, that is to say, your father and I, didn't die in a car accident. We died protecting you from Lord Voldemort "
Harry shrugged, "I don't know who either one of those people are." he explained. "The only relatives I know of are the Dursleys."
Lily scowled then turned to a dosing man next to her in the same frame, "James wake up! Our son is here and all you're doing is sleeping? Get up!" She elbowed the man in the ribs.
"Ow… what was that for Lily?" James asked as his eyes shot open. "That hurt!" he rubbed his side where Lily had elbowed him.
Lily sighed, "Harry is here you idiot, and he knows nothing about his godparents."
James blinked and looked at Harry, "Prongslet! You're alive!" He grinned then frowned, "Wait you don't know who Sirius is?"
Harry shook his head, "No idea. Grew up with the Dursleys." he scowled "In the cupboard under the stairs."
The man grew levied, "IN THE CUPBOARD UNDER THE STAIRS?" he growled. "Why the HELL did they put you there?"
Harry started shaking, it was never a good sign when adults grew angry at him. He started to have flashbacks of the times when uncle Vernon would hit him on the back with his belt. "Please don't hit me!" he pleaded, forgetting that they were just portraits that could not interact with the real world.
Lily's eyes grew wet with unshed tears, "No darling, we won't hurt you. It's alright, James is not mad at you. It's okay. It's okay." She wished with all her heart that she was still alive and could give her baby boy a hug. She missed holding him, taking care of him. She smiled sadly, "It's okay."
