"Last Friday night Graham and I went to dinner then went for a long walk." Ace is on the phone with her friend of over two decades, Tegan Jovanka. She is talking to Tegan about her other friend Graham.
"And this makes how many dates now," Tegan teases her.
"We haven't defined anything yet."
"The two of you have been spending at least one night a week in each other's company since you met."

"Wasn't he your midnight kiss on New Years?" Ace thinks about the night she and Graham were inseparable and snuck from everyone because of the teasing.

"I." Ace pauses for a second as there is a knock on the door. "One second Teg, someone is at the door." She puts the phone to her chest and heads to the door. "Graham!" Tegan hears how happy her friend is to see the man.
"Are you busy Ace?" He smiles brightly at her.
"Give me sec; I am talking to Tegan."
"Oh I can go." Graham doesn't want his friend and secret crush; at least he thinks it's secret; not to have time with her long time friend. He didn't get the opportunity to finish his sentence as Ace is on the phone with the Australian.
"Looks like you are going to talk to him now," she tells Ace to do as she hangs up.

"I just had dinner with Ryan and had the urge to see you when I realized I hadn't seen you in over a week. I say I need my Ace fix."
"Your Ace fix," she tries and fails to hold back a smile and a blush at that. "Even though we talk before we go to bed every night?"
"While talking to you is a highlight of my day, seeing you hits a bit different."
"Really?"
"Yeah, I get to see." He stops when he is about to reveal more.
"Graham?"
"Yes?"
"Is there more to the sentence?"

"Umm," Graham is nervous about admitting his feelings for the woman who has an encouraging smile on her lips.
"You can tell me anything, Graham. I would never judge you. Though I feel like if anyone knew two secrets that only Tegan knows I will be judged and then it will get out and everything I have ever done would be ruined," she tells him as she lowers her head.
He takes her arm and they move to the couch. "Ace I would never tell anyone something you told me in confidence."
"It's things that happened and something I found out during my travels with the Doctor."
"What is it?"
"Do you know the legend of Fenrir and his wolves?"
"I do."
"And the haemovores?"
"Not really?"
"Well, they're real. At least they were real."
"Ok?"
"Well, I am a descendant of the being that the legend comes from." She looks into his eyes then and sees he's still looking at her the same way he has since they met. "There's more."
"Ok."
"When the Doctor took me to visit my old friends, I got infected by the Cheetah people, because I saved one, Karra, from dying. If it wasn't for the Doctor making sure I didn't hunt or kill anyone, I would've changed forever." She takes a breath. "Well?"
Graham takes her hand and brings it to his lips. "Ace."

"More than you ever could know." Graham leans his head forward, "do you feel the same?"
"I do. I was afraid that you wouldn't like hearing about those two things from my past."
"Nothing you do can make me feel less for you." He then leans to kiss her. The kiss grows deeper as Ace and Graham end up horizontal on the couch.

When the two of them break and sit up, Ace starts laughing. "What's so funny."
"Just I better not tell Tegan how right she was right."

"Us. She knew there was something in between us. She thought we had kissed already."
"When?"
"New Years. She thought you were my New Year's Kiss."
"I wanted to kiss you." He admits while looking away. Ace brings his eyes back to hers.
"Now we can kiss whenever." She kisses him softly.
