Chapter 1 Howard and Peggy

Howard's point of view

The first time I ever met Margaret Elizabeth Carter, I knew she was my future.

Her hair is thick, curly, auburn, and her eyes are deep brown. She can be ferocious or kind at the same time. She is tall but not too tall, and she is slim but not too slim. She is a classic beauty. She can take the simplest thing and make it hilarious just by allowing her sarcastic side to shine through.

Regrettably, I lacked confidence when she was present.

Something that happened to me many years earlier prevented me from speaking when I was in the same room with her. I couldn't even look at her.

*Flashback*

Dottie Underwood was a beautiful southern belle. She has curly blonde hair and bright-green eyes, and she is soft-spoken, sweet, and sharp with a very vicious streak. I fell for her… hard.

When we were about to get married, Dottie dropped a bombshell.

Her real name was not Dottie Underwood, and she was not a woman. Her real name was Dr Stephen Strange, and he was a wizard. He had thick brown hair and icy blue eyes. He did the most unforgivable thing to me. I was left with terrible memories of the event and a broken heart. I had a complete breakdown and wound up in the hospital.

*END FLASHBACK*

It took me many years to even think about another relationship.

The Strategic Homeland Intervention Enforcement and Logistics Division was founded by Peggy and I in 1965.

After a few years of floundering in the SSR, I decided to pursue her for the strategic home invasion enforcement and logistics division.

We became very close friends, but she was in a relationship with Steve Rogers.

After they ended their relationship, I couldn't stop thinking about asking her out.

She made the first move after a long time of friendship. I was pleasantly surprised when she showed up at work and provided lunch for the two of us.

*FLASHBACK*

"Mr Stark, Ms Carter is here to see you" said Angie

"WHAT?" I replied

"Ms Carter is here to see you" she repeated

"Send her in."

10 months later, we were married

8 and a half months after that, we had a son. Anthony Edward Stark. Peggy had to have a caesarean because she laboured for 72 hours with no progress. She almost died from extreme blood loss. She had to have an immediate radical hysterectomy. Her recovery was long and difficult.

When Tony was 21 months old, Peggy was finally well enough to return to work.

*END FLASHBACK*

I glanced at the soulmate ring on my left ring finger and The Sleeping Beauty by my side and realised that I was the luckiest man in the world.
