Pokémon: Sinnoh no Isekai

Chapter Two-hundred and sixty-seven: The Pocketwatch Sector, part one

It had been a week since the reborn trainers finished their goal of capturing all of the legendary and mythical Pokémon of Sinnoh lore, which ultimately led to Dawn capturing Arceus. Right now, the reborn trainers were in the Kanto region, as Kenny and Trip both have Ultra Class battles scheduled to go down in Kanto; Kenny would be duking it out against Bruno of the elite four, and Trip had a battle scheduled with the Saffron City gym leader Sabrina. As for Dawn, she was currently overseeing the progress that Odin, her named Arceus, had made thus far in its training.

The reborn trainers were in a wooded area between Mt. Moon and Cerulean City, taking a break from touring all over Kanto. Dawn, with Odin standing next to her on her right, was getting ready to have the named Arceus practice its moves it had learned since coming under Dawn's command. When Dawn caught it, Odin knew three normal type attacking moves and Recover. As powerful as Arceus is, such a moveset was NOT going to let even the creator of the universe do all that well in battle when going up against foes with more diverse movesets. Hence why Dawn had it learn new moves.

Dawn pointed to a large rocky mound that was near the lake they stood in front of. "Alright Odin, we're going to see how your moves you've learned are coming along," Dawn began, "Use Ice Beam on that rocky mound over there." Turning then taking aim, the named Arceus fired an icy blue ice-cold beam of energy that struck the rocky mound hard, encasing it in a mass of ice. From what Dawn saw, Odin's Ice Beam had gone off without a hitch. But then again, Dawn had Odin learn Ice Beam with the help of Pokémon she already had who knew Ice Beam.

"Now strike that iced over rocky mound with Flamethrower," Dawn continued. Odin raised its head back slightly before firing a fiery breath weapon of Flamethrower. Dawn saw that Odin's Flamethrower was just as solid and flawless as Odin's Ice Beam. Dawn actually had Tsukune, her named Palkia, help with getting Odin to learn the move as Tsukune itself also knew Flamethrower. Dawn found it a bit funny that a creator learned a new trick from one of its own creations, or at least that's what the mythology of Sinnoh has to say on the relationship between Arceus and Palkia.

Seeing that all of the ice had been melted away, Dawn said, "Now hit that same rocky mound with Thunderbolt." Rearing back, Odin conjured and cast a powerful Thunderbolt attack right at the rocky mound, striking it to hard that a huge chunk of it was blown away into oblivion. When the dust and noise settled, Dawn smirked a bit in amusement. She was figuring that the set of Ice Beam, Flamethrower, and Thunderbolt would give Odin enough diversity in its movepool to, at minimum, strike any foe for at least regular damage.

...Those three moves, plus the fourth move that the named Arceus picked up during training, a move that Dawn was eager to have Odin learn. Dawn turned from looking at the now ruined rocky mound to the side of Mt. Moon. "This may be a bit risky as I don't know what's on the other end, but we need the range," Dawn said. Pointing to the mountainside of Mt. Moon that she was pointing at, Dawn said, "Odin, use Judgment on the side of Mt. Moon right there!" Odin raised its head up as a large sphere of golden light appeared above its head.

Countless shots of energy flew from that golden energy orb and flew right at the mountainside, striking down hard with a force that was nothing short of divine. It looked as if divine wrath had been made manifest. Odin's Judgment looked as solid as any of Odin's other attacks, and Dawn wanted to get to work on seeing how Judgment works when Odin holds the different elemental Plates; the reborn trainers had all of the Plates now, and they were essentially all handed over to Dawn as she is the one who had caught Arceus who makes use of the Plates.

After Odin's Judgment attack ended, Dawn called for the Alpha Pokémon to stand down. "Alright, your attacks all look solid," Dawn said to her named Arceus as Kenny came walking up, "I say we take a break."

"Yo Dawn, we're getting ready to pack up and make our way to Cerulean City," Kenny said, "Quit having Odin unleash the Wrath of God on the mountainside and help us get ready to get going."

"I just called for Odin to take a break anyway," Dawn pointed out before recalling Odin. The reborn trainers were wanting to head on over to Cerulean City to check up on how things are going for the Sensational Sisters, i.e. the older sisters of Misty. The reborn trainers also wanted to check up on Misty herself; they got it that, due to how she was hurt then Team Scorn set the Cerulean City gym ablaze, she took a hit to the head that resulted in some trauma that was going to result in a little bit of mental regression. It wasn't going to be too bad, just shaving a few years off of her mental age compared to her physical age.

There were also signs that her mental age could catch up to her physical age, but it would take a long process of recovery. And Misty was going to need all of the love and support her family and friends could give. But it was possible for the Misty that everyone knew to one day make a return. The reborn trainers were hoping to do all that they could to help facilitate that, to heal the damage that was caused by the evil and greed of Team Scorn. As such, the reborn trainers were aiming to see Misty and her sisters when they made their way to Cerulean City.

Later, when the reborn trainers made their way into Cerulean City, Kenny inhaled and exhaled through his nose. "Ah, Cerulean City," Kenny said, "Land of the sisters who like getting wet."

"You... could have phrased that differently," Trip said dryly.

Shrugging, Mina said, "No no, I think that Kenny has it right on the money. I mean, Misty and her sisters like swimming, and they use water type Pokémon-"

"No way! Water types are all wet and splashy and scary and stuff!"

Mina was cut off when she and the others heard the familiar voice of Misty, a voice Mina recognized from the anime in her previous life but the other reborn trainers knew well ahead of time. The reborn trainers all turned to see the direction the call came from, and saw it as a girl who... vaguely... resembled Misty came walking up to them. She had her hair worn down straight, she wore orange framed glasses with square lenses that had rounded points, and her outfit consisted of a baggy yellow long-sleeved shirt worn under an equally baggy hoodie that was red, the ends of the sleeves of the hoodie hanging loosely around the girl's wrists as opposed to clinging to them. She also wore a pair of blue-colored baggy cargo shorts held up with a belt, white socks, and clunky looking red shoes.

The reborn trainers were able to figure this girl out to really be their associate Misty, but she... had undergone a bit of a transformation, to put it lightly. What really had the reborn trainers surprised was that Misty here not only was actually decrying water type Pokémon, but she had a Spinarak, which is a bug type Pokémon which is the type of Pokémon that Misty (the one that they knew) hated and was afraid of, sitting on her shoulder. The reborn trainers were, to put it mildly, unsettled by how much of a drastic change and reversal of character Misty had undergone. The head trauma and (very mild) mental regression had made Misty nearly a wholly different person.

Looking at Misty with an unsure look, Dawn said, "...Misty? Is that you?"

"Yes, my name is Misty," replied Misty, "Although I don't know why-"

"Misty, there you are!"

Misty was cut off when Daisy, one of the Sensational Sisters as well as one of Misty's older sisters, came jogging up. Upon reaching the group, Daisy saw that the reborn trainers were there as well. "Oh, it's you guys," Daisy said, "Umm, I take it you've seen how Misty's doing now."

Pointing at Misty, Kenny said, "Her change of outfit aside, she had gone from loving water Pokémon and fearing slash hating bug Pokémon to fearing slash hating water Pokémon to probably loving bug Pokémon!"

"Well what's not to love about bug Pokémon?" Misty replied, "They're all wriggly and crawly and stuff and it's adorable!" The Spinarak on Misty's shoulder gave a cry of agreement to show it was happy with Misty saying it's adorable.

Daisy, seeing the looks of surprise in the faces of the reborn trainers, had a relenting look of somber, nostalgic guilt in her eyes. "...Yeah, you guys ought to come by our place so we can talk things out."

...

Over at the Cerulean City gym which had seen lots of reconstruction efforts, Daisy said, "Yeah, the doctors warned us that Misty may... be something of a different person than what we had gotten used to. The head trauma she suffered, the very mild mental regression that resulted from it, it's almost like misty is now an entirely, wholly new person."

Dawn turned her attention to see Misty minding her own business as she was caring for her Spinarak. Dawn turned to look back at Daisy. "You said that the doctors saw signs that Misty's mental age can catch back up to her biological age, and that she may come back to being the kind of person we knew her as."

Daisy nodded in the affirmative. "It'll take a long time for that healing to happen, assuming it does happen."

"Well I see that the gym's reconstruction is coming along nicely," Kenny said, "Have you guys been able to have any gym battles recently?"

Daisy shook her head in the negative. "No, we haven't finished yet. Another gym located near Saffron City is essentially shouldering the burden of our gym until we get reconstruction finished." Letting out a sigh, Daisy said, "And then there's deciding on if we should change the type that our gym specializes in."

"What do you mean?" Trip asked.

Daisy gestured to where Misty was fawning over her Spinarak. "We used to be a water Pokémon gym," Daisy said, "But now Misty is flat out terrified of water types. Given how it's sort of my fault things happened to Misty the way that they did, I want to do what I can to make things up to Misty, such as adjusting things so that she's more comfortable."

"Change the Cerulean City's type specialty from water to bug?" Mina suggested, "I mean, there are a fair number of decent bug types here in Kanto."

Daisy held a hand to her chin, wore a look of contemplation. "...We're typically the second gym that beginning trainers in Kanto takes on. What sort of set up do you think we can do to test trainers challenging our gym, assuming we do change from using water types to using bug types?"

Gesturing to Daisy, Kenny said, "I got it that your gym usually has the leader use only two Pokémon whenever a trainer challenges you. I suggest you raise a Beedrill and a Butterfree. Two fully evolved Pokémon that should give newer trainers a bit of a rigorous workout, but still be possible to overcome early if they train right."

Daisy nodded in understanding. "Yes, that does seem like it'd be doable."

"But what if the Misty we used to have comes back," Trip asked, "And she freaks upon seeing the bug types?"

Wincing out of guilty somber heartbreak, Daisy said as tears welled up, "I'm... I'm not sure if the baby sister I knew will ever come back. I now have a completely different one, and it's all my fau-"

*THOOM*

Daisy was cut off when an explosion occurred outside of the Cerulean City gym, alarming everyone. "Is Cerulean City under attack?!" Mina exclaimed.

Her previously sad expression turning to one of vengeful anger, Daisy said, "We need to go outside to check what's going on." Daisy led the reborn trainers out of the Cerulean City gym to go confront the troubles outside, while telling Misty to stay where she was and not leave. Misty, terrified about what might be going on outside, was more than willing to not go outside and into whatever danger awaited there.

After leaving the Cerulean City gym, the reborn trainers and Daisy were shocked to see that there were members of Team Scorn attacking all over the place. Daisy's expression instantly became even more bitter and vengeful. "These guys..." Daisy snarled, "...They just can't leave Cerulean City alone, can they?" Turning to look at the reborn trainers, Daisy said, "Can I count on you guys to-"

"Ah! Help me!"

Daisy was cut off when she and the others heard a girl cry out. They all then turned to look as they saw a girl with white hair in a short hime cut come running their way. Trip was able to identify the girl to the other reborn trainers (whispering to them while Daisy who received the girl was distracted) as Lyla, a member of Project Mew who he saw in one of the last episodes of the anime in his previous life before he died there. Dawn perked up at the mention that this Lyla girl is a member of Project Mew, and it reminded her to check up on Professor Oak to see if he kept his word concerning Froot Loop.

As Lyla panted to catch her breath, the group was met up by a party of half a dozen Team Scorn grunts, led by a uniquely dressed Team Scorn member accompanied by a seventh grunt who was female. The uniquely dressed Team Scorn member had slightly tanned skin, black hair that sruck up on top with the sides of his head shaved, and he wore a yellow short-sleeved jacket with dark blue sleeves and highlights, a yellow shirt under the jacket that was visible as the jacket was worn open, dark blue shorts that reached his knees, yellow socks, yellow shoes with dark blue highlights, and his Team Scorn insignia, a dark blue heater shield with a yellow Team Scorn 'S' in the middle, was over his chest on his shirt.

"And just who in blazes are you?" Trip demanded while pointing at the uniquely dressed member of Team Scorn.

Gesturing to himself, the uniquely dressed member of Team Scorn said, "The name's Kuma, Fourth Captain of Team Scorn's Pocketwatch Sector."

Kenny perked up at that, as if the idea of a pocketwatch stirred something within his memories from long ago. "Pocketwatch Sector?"

"We're the sector of Team Scorn native to the Kanto region," explained the female grunt next to the now identified Captain Kuma, "Anyway, Captain Kuma told the others and I that a member of Project Mew was seen here in Cerulean City. We're here to capture said member and bring her in for questioning!"

"So you guys ARE after me," said the now identified Lyla.

Kenny's eyes narrowed on Kuma and the female Scorn grunt next to him. "...I take it the girl next to you is your Captain's Assistant?"

"Yeah, Ai here is my Captain's Assistant," Kuma said, sounding like a guy bragging about having a cute girlfriend, "And she plus the men here will be helping me with capturing that Project Mew girl!"

Daisy scowled bitterly. "I did hear rumors that a sector of Team Scorn set up shop here in Kanto after Team Rocket was fully rooted out everywhere and done away with for good. But I got it that Team Scorn's sector here in Kanto was only running general crime business to generate income for the organization as a whole. What's with the sudden interest in that Project Mew group?"

"I'm not really sure," Kuma admitted, "But it's an order from Admin Kyubi, who heads up the Pocketwatch Sector. He got it that the Project Mew group had been noted to have increased activity here in Kanto, so he's having part of the Pocketwatch Sector root out Project Mew's efforts in Kanto out!"

"You and all of your buddies in the Pocketwatch Sector will fall to the power of cringe!" Kenny declared as he pointed dramatically at Kuma, "Especially your Admin Kyubi!"

Trip, with a suspicious look on his face, said, "Quick question before we kick your butts. Your Admin Kyubi, what are his Pokémon? Unless you don't know."

Kuma was about to reject giving the info, but the now identfied Ai spoke up, "Oh, Admin Kyubi has an Alolan Ninetails, a Thievul, and a Delphox. Why do you ask?"

"Ai, why did you give those would-be heroes the team that Admin Kyubi has?!" Kuma asked, practically exclaiming.

Nodding once as if sure of something, Trip said, "Yup, Admin Kyubi has a Delphox which is a fully evolved starter. That being said, it's gonna kick Kenny's Tyranitar's ass if the two of them ever meet."

"Like hell it will!" Kenny exclaimed, then he initiated battle by sending out Zarbon, his named Machamp. Mina joined Kenny in fighting Kuma and Ai by sending out her Lucario. As for Kuma and Ai, Kuma sent out an Ursaring and Ai sent out a Purrloin. "Zarbon, use Dynamic Punch on Ursaring!" Kenny called out.

"Lucario, use Aura sphere on Purrloin!" Mina ordered.

"Ursaring, use Slash on Machamp!" Kuma commanded.

"Purrloin, use Scratch on Lucario!" Ai declared.

Lucario was the quickest, and her Aura Sphere struck and knocked out Purrloin before it even got close with Scratch. Zarbon was next, and he gave his burly bear foe a hard pounding with Dynamic Punch, knocking the opposing Ursaring out. This forced Kuma and Ai to call back Ursaring and Purrloin, and saw Kuma send out a Beartic and Ai send out a Poochyena. However, the exchange ended up being the same, seeing Zarbon giving a fierce fisting to his burly bear foe which knocked out the bear in question, seeing Beartic go down before it could land its Ice Fang.

As for Mina's Lucario, her Aura Sphere knocked out Poochyena before it could land Tackle. Ai called her Pokémon back and didn't send another one out, which indicated that she was out of Pokémon. As for Kuma, he sent out a Pangoro, who had to deal with two opponents on its own. Worse yet for Pangoro is that both of its opponents had a type advantage against it. True enough, before Pangoro was able to land a Brick Break, it fell to the combined efforts of Zarbon's Cross Chop and Lucario's Aura Sphere, resulting in a win for the tage team of Kenny and Mina.

Kuma scowled in annoyance as he called back his defeated Pangoro. "So you beat me and Ai, big whoop," Kuma began, "We still have the numbers advantage here! We will wear you all down and then take that Project Mew girl in for questioning! No-one can stop us from accomp-"

"Captain Kuma, sir!" one of the Scorn grunts called out, "All of us have been wiped! The would-be heroes have bested us!" True enough, Kuma when he looked over saw that all of the men he had with him and Ai had been bested by the other heroes, mainly Dawn and Trip.

Kuma scoffed bitterly. "Men, smoke grenades!" The members of Team Scorn then whipped out smoke grenades and used them to create a large cloud of smoke that obscured view for the heroes, allowing Kuma and his men to pull out of Cerulean City. When Kuma took off, everyone in Team Scorn who was in Cerulean City had to get going as well. After all of Team Scorn was bested and sent packing, a quick head count was done, and to Dawn's relief no-one was missing and everyone was fine.

"Alright Lyla, talk," Dawn said as she and the others had Lyla at the Cerulean City gym, "Why is Team Scorn after you? What exactly is Project Mew up to?"

Lyla, an unsure look on her face, gently shook her head. "I have no clue, Dawn Berlitz."

"You know who she is," Mina noted.

Looking at Mina while gesturing to Dawn, Lyla said, "She's the Champion of Sinnoh, not to mention she recently became Monarch of the World Coronation Series which means she's the undisputed strongest trainer in the world. How could I not have at least some idea who she is?"

"Fair enough," Trip said, "Now answer Dawn's questions Lyla."

Looking over to the side, Lyla when she saw Misty hugging a Frosmoth while nuzzling the side of her head against it said, "Why is that girl cuddling with my Frosmoth?"

"My little sister loves bug Pokémon," Daisy explained. To Misty's credit, Lyla's Frosmoth did not object to the cuddling.

"Answer Dawn's questions," Trip said firmly, "What is Project Mew really up to?"

"I told you, I don't know specific details," Lyla said, "All that I got on the matter from Professor Amaranth is that getting to Mew will help with research to learn and understand the true origin of Pokémon. I don't even know why Team Scorn has a beef with Project Mew."

Gesturing to Lyla, Dawn asked, "I don't suppose you can at least tell us why you're here in Kanto?"

Nodding once, Lyla said, "Actually I can. I'm on a mission for Project Mew to get a video recording of some of the big name legendary Pokémon you and your friends have between you all using attacks no other Pokémon can learn or use. I can actually earn multiple Project Mew tokens for this mission depending on how many unique attacks I can record video of your legendary Pokémon using."

"...I'm a bit wary of Project Mew, to be honest," Dawn said, drawing a surprised look out of Lyla, "Given that you guys are trying to find Mew yet give only vague answers without any real substance when asked why you're after Mew. Even lower ranked members of your group don't have specific details." Folding her arms over her chest, Dawn said, "Unless your boss running the show agrees to give the details I want, agrees to fully, truthfully explain everything, then I'm afraid that my group and I can't really help you."

Lyla's gaze narrowed out of a sense that this was an expected result. "...I figured as much. I haven't heard of anyone being as cautious about Project Mew as what you are being right now since Atticus."

Lyla mentioning a specific name like that caught the attention of the reborn trainers. "Atticus?" Dawn said, "Who's Atticus?"

"Bar none the greatest Chaser that Project Mew ever had the privilege of having within their ranks," Lyla said, "Or so I was told by Quillon and Danika."

(FLASHBACK)

A male trainer was walking through a hallway in a building owned by the group that ran Project Mew. This male trainer was fair skinned, had black hair that reached the tips of his shoulder blades, and he wore a light gray long-sleeved shirt (with loose wrist holes that didn't cling to his wrists) under a red men's tank top, baggy light gray cargo shorts held up with a belt, white socks and white sneakers. He also wore a pair of red stud earrings, one earring in each ear lobe. Walking alongside this trainer was his Delphox.

The trainer soon reached his destination, opening the door to see Professor Amaranth sitting at the desk; a Pokémon egg that by the male trainer's guess will hatch into a Mime Jr. sat on the desk off to the side. As for Amaranth, he looked surprised but mildly suspicious to see the male trainer came here to see him. "What can I do you for, Atticus?" Professor Amaranth asked.

"Doing one of two things for me," the now identified Atticus replied, his tone and expression brokering no quarter.

Amaranth's eyes narrowed a bit. "...You still think that I'm hiding something from you and the rest of those involved with Project Mew. I'm still not sure how you got it into your head, but I assure you that I have given all of the details. Project Mew's goal in finding Mew is to use that golden opportunity to learn the truth of the origins of Pokémon."

"It's a pretty vague explanation that doesn't go into a lot of detail," Atticus countered. Atticus and his Delphox took a step forward. "I can tell you're hiding more than what you're letting on, so either tell me the full truth of what you REALLY have cooking-"

"I assure you, I honestly have nothing 'really cooking'," Amaranth interrupted.

Atticus's eyes narrowed, out of a mix of annoyance over being interrupted and suspicion that amaranth is lying through his teeth. "...Then if you won't tell me the truth, do the second of two things for me." Atticus took out a folded up sheet of paper, folded to be slipped into an envelope. "Accept my resignation from Project Mew."

Amaranth's eyes widened out of shocked surprise. "You... you want to leave us? But you're bar none the best chaser we've ever seen! You've earned more than double the Project Mew tokens than the next leading Chaser! Why would you want to leave us?"

"Why are you so insistent on withholding information I can tell full well you're hiding?" Atticus countered.

"What will it take to convince you that I am not hiding anything?" Amaranth asked, a mix of getting fed up with being pressed for info and desperate to keep a talented trainer such as Atticus from leaving Project Mew.

Atticus simply placed the Letter of Resignation on Amaranth's desk. "I'll consider coming back to Project Mew when you consider not withholding vital intel." Atticus then turned around and walked out of Amaranth's office, washing his hands of Project Mew entirely. Atticus, the most accomplished Chaser that Project Mew had ever seen, left Professor Amaranth speechless.

A few moments out of Amaranth's office, Atticus was met up by a girl who didn't look to be part of Project Mew. The girl was fair skinned, had shoulder length and somewhat wild looking blonde hair, and piercing, vibrant sapphire blue eyes. She wore a blue tank top, baggy tan-colored cargo shorts held up with a belt, white socks, and white sneakers that had one red stripe on each of them. The girl was accompanied by a Seviper similar to how Atticus was accompanied by his Delphox. Atticus as he looked at the girl took note of her. "...You're here aiming to join Project Mew."

The girl looked surprised by Atticus's assessment of her. "How could you tell?"

"You got a hopeful, excitable look to your eyes," Atticus said, "One that speaks of hoping for some adventure. The missions of Project Mew are right up that ally."

"Well why wouldn't I want to get in on that?" the girl replied, "Oh, my name's Kira by the way, and this here is my bud Seviper."

"...Atticus," said Atticus as he gave his name, "And this here is my Delphox. Anyway, I wouldn't join Project Mew if I were you."

The now identified Kira had a curious look on her face. "Why not?"

Atticus let out a mildly troubled sigh. "Because the big boss clearly has a hidden agenda but refuses to spill the beans. I don't think working for a man who's got something cooking behind the scenes is something that ought to be stomached."

"That Amaranth guy is plotting something?" Kira asked, looking surprised as did her Seviper.

"If only I had a Pokémon that knew Mind Reader who could scan Amaranth's mind and put what he's hiding in my mind so I can learn what he's really up to," Atticus swore to himself. Turning to leave, Atticus said, "Anyway Kira, if you're still aiming to get into Project Mew, chances are it'll be a breeze for you as i had just resigned so there ought to be a vacancy."

Atticus didn't get half a dozen steps away from Kira before she turned around and began following him. "Actually, I can't stand the idea of working for a guy who clearly has a hidden agenda," Kira admitted, "You mind if I tag along with you instead?"

Arching a wry eyebrow, Atticus with a hint of amusement in his expression said, "Sure thing, I could always use the company." Together, Atticus and Kira left the Project Mew building, leaving that part of their lives behind them.

(FLASHBACK OVER)

In an office in a Team Scorn base located in an undisclosed location in the Kanto region, Atticus was sitting at the desk as he went over a journal he had. He was now dressed in a copy of his outfit from when he was a member of Project Mew, although this outfit Atticus was wearing was pallet swapped to have the Team Scorn colors of yellow and dark blue; yellow long-sleeved shirt, dark blue men's tank top, yellow cargo shorts, yellow socks, dark blue shoes. Around his neck he wore a lanyard with a yellow and dark blue colored flame pattern, and on the lanyard was a pocketwatch. The cover showed the Team Scorn insignia, a yellow heater shield with a dark blue Team Scorn 'S'.

The lanyard was something he brought with him into Team Scorn; it just so happened to have the Team Scorn colors. As for the pocketwatch, it was an heirloom from his late granduncle; the Team Scorn insignia on it was a decal sticker. The pocketwatch itself was silver, the only color that was on Atticus's person that was not yellow or dark blue. As Atticus was reading the journal, he heard a knock on the door that led into the office. "Enter," Atticus called out loud enough to be heard by whoever it was that was coming by to see him.

As it turned out, it was Kira, the girl who followed him out of Project Mew... and into Team Scorn. Similar to Atticus wearing a pallet swap of his old outfit, Kira wore a pallet swap of her old outfit; the tank top was dark blue, the cargo shorts yellow, yellow socks, yellow sneakers with dark blue stripes. Her Team Scorn insignia, a yellow heater shield with a dark blue Team Scorn 'S', was a patch on her tank top over her left breast. "Yo, Admin Kyubi," Kira said, "Just got some deets about Captain Kuma's mission to Cerulean City to track down and capture a member of Project Mew."

Atticus, now identified as Admin Kyubi, looked to Kira. "How did it go?"

"Dawn Berlitz and her companions were there at the time for an unrelated reason, so they stopped Kuma cold," Kira replied.

Kyubi's eyes narrowed out of mild annoyance. "...They were in Kanto a while ago because a friend of theirs living in Cerulean City was hurt due to the late Zed's stupidity. Were they here to visit said friend?" Gently shaking his head, Kyubi looked to Kira. "It's fortuitous that other known members of Project Mew are here in the Kanto region. The other Captains ought to have an easy time tracking down and capturing at least one of them."

"I heard that Amaranth himself is in Kanto," Kira said.

Kyubi's eyes widened back up a bit. "...Third Captain Meyer," Kyubi began, "His Politoed knows Mind Reader. He can be of use in getting the absolute truth out of that bastard Amaranth." Gesturing to Kira, Kyubi said, "Call up Captain Meyer, have him and his Captain's Assistant report to me at once."

"Captain Meyer is still running that mission to track down where those Pokémon League Admission Exams badges were taken off to after the Exam officials were busted a while ago," Kira pointed out, "You said that the big boss wants at least one of those badges found and brought in."

Kyubi let out a troubled sigh. "That's right," Kyubi said, "Well at least tell Captain Meyer to hurry up with that mission so he can report for the next one." Kyubi's eyes narrowed out of suspicion. "...I got a feeling that we can finally get the truth out of that bastard Amaranth."

END, CHAPTER TWO-HUNDRED AND SIXTY-SEVEN

Author's notes;

This chapter sees the reborn trainers in Kanto, where Dawn's training Odin to learn new moves to help better prep it for fending off region-wrecking threats. The reborn trainers make their way to Cerulean City, where they see the kind of person Misty has become as a result of her head trauma; nowhere near as bad as similar other cases, but it's still unsettling a bit to see Misy be essentially a wholly different person. The reunion is short lived when Team Scorn's Pocketwatch Sector, the sector of Team Scorn native to the Kanto region, strikes in a bid to capture Project Mew member Lyla, who was in Kanto at the time.

The heroes are able to fight off Team Scorn, but afterwards they grill Lyla for details, as well as deny her request to let her record footage of their legendary Pokémon using signature moves. Lyla then mentions Atticus, the name of who she was told is Project Mew's most accomplished Chaser ever, better even than Quillon. However, the supposedly ace Atticus left Project Mew of his own volition due to being suspicious that Amaranth was withholding a lot of details. Atticus ended up becoming Admin Kyubi, the head of Team Scorn's Pocketwatch Sector. Things here will continue in the next chapter, so until then take care.
