Chapter 20 Soulmates
Tony's point of view
In Potions class, Professor Slughorn had us brew the Soulmate revelation potion. The potion was complicated and required 3 days to brew.
On the final day of brewing, we bottled our potions and then set them aside… I was paired with Pepper. We were hoping that the potion would reveal that we were soulmates.
After brewing, the potion had to be allowed to cool and then rest for 24 hours.
After the 24-hour resting period, we took a pipette and drew up a sample of potion before putting it on a square of parchment and letting it sit for 15 minutes.
After the 15 minutes, we flipped the squares of parchment over, and they revealed who our soulmate was. Pepper and I were holding hands. Each of us sucked in a deep breath and held it. With our free hands we flipped the parchment squares.
"Anthony Edward Stark's soulmate is Virginia Anne Potts"
"Virginia Anne Potts's soulmate is Anthony Edward Stark."
I pulled her close. We kissed
"Love you"
"Love you too"
When we went to Hogsmeade that weekend, I got us promise rings.
Pepper insisted on paying for lunch for us.
Little did either of us know that a shadow had fallen and danger was lurking in our future.
