Chapter 22 A break
Pepper's point of view
Gradually, I recovered from the nightmare. Tony was my rock, my strength and my moral compass. He helped me through the ordeal.
We were both going in separate directions for college. Tony was going to MIT (which he could have done at 14, but he insisted on finishing high school first) I was going to The University of Houston. We took a break, knowing that as soulmates, we would eventually end up together again.
Tony's point of view
In the time that Pep and I spent apart, Bruce went to medical school and had a serious accident involving gamma radiation and was in hiding. Jay had gone to the Air Force, I was running Stark Industries (with Uncle Obie) and Clint and Nat had discovered that they are soulmates and had got married and had 5 children. A set of twins and then 3 singletons, via a surrogate. Then December 16th 1991 happened… I thought my parents died in the accident that also took Mr and Mrs Jarvis. Wanda and Pietro went back to Sokovia as missionaries. Later Nat discovered something about December 16th 1991 which changed everything. I had three relationships, First with Maya Hansen, who abused me, then with Mary Fitzpatrick and finally with Christine Everhart (who tried to humiliate me.
On my 30th birthday I was going to the office because I would be conducting interviews at Stark Industries when something unexpected but wonderful happened...
