Duty binds the honorable to a cause which was not theirs to uphold. The story I seek to create may not be what you are expecting. It will be a long and arduous journey. None aboard the Normandy will be left unscathed by the time it is all said and done.  This will not be a 1:1 with the games, but will follow in its shadow. I will finish this story no matter how long it takes.

If EDI was able to frown, she would have. It was the second time in a few days that both Normandy's commander and weapons officer had woken up at the exact same moment. She crawled singles bars on Thessia with her unit. Neither is ready for who she meets in a mineshaft below the surface of a fiery world, or the war to come. Tali'Zorah has returned to the Fleet while Shepard is on Earth awaiting trial. She does her best to honor her promise to prepare her people, but sorting through her own mind is perhaps the greater challenge.

The year is 2182 and on the edge of Human controlled space, a precious cargo was stolen by a Batarian Slave team. The unknown cargo had been taken deeper into Batarian space and was thought to contain a weapon. Upon opening the container, the Batarians were left with more questions than answers.
