While this story is based one of my playthroughs of the Mass Effect Games there are certain AU aspects to it including certain AU pairings including Ashley/Miranda, original characters, and certain changes from the main ending.

After the incident on Edolus, Shepard appreciates the downtime afterwards. Especially when company arrives to join her; company in the form of one Kaidan Alenko...

When Thane is revived in a similar fashion to the way Cerberus had revived Shepard, he learns that the galaxy is not as he left it. The Reapers are gone, Cerberus is gone, and Shepard has moved on. Having no purpose for his skills now, he follows the orders of the woman who brought him back, in a quest to eliminate another great threat to the security of Council Space.

Post Reaper War - Kaidan steps up as the Human Councillor while Shepard recuperates but somethings things need a specific kind of skill...

He needed it, ached for it but forgiveness was one thing he could never get from her. He killed her and so he did his penance. A one shot about Joker and the grief he felt after the destruction of the SR-1. Bioware owns all things ME, I'm just playing in their sandbox.

What if when Cerberus rebuilt Shepard, she lost her memory? Or at least, all her memories of her last few years' missions, her crew and her friends. How would she rebuild friendships and alliances now she no longer recognises those closest to her? And what if Cerberus have a vested interest in keeping it that way? Eventual Shenko.
