Anyway, I would like to do a bit of housekeeping first before we get onto the actual story. Yes, this story is in fact a crossover between Bloodborne and the Monster Girl Encyclopaedia universe, obviously this crossover has been done before and probably much better by two excellent stories, which are The Good Hunter and The Hunter New Home which you should definitely check out if you haven't already.

As for my story, I don't intend or plan to copy any plot point or aspects from both of those excellent works, In fact, I plan to do my own thing when it comes to the mixing of the MGE universe and Bloodborne, And another thing I will say now is that I planned to have my story have quite a dark tone overall, so if stuff like sexual assault blood and gore, death, existential horror affects you at all, you should definitely reconsider reading my story.

Also since I followed both the good Hunter and the hunters new home, I know that the MGE fanbase can be especially ravenous towards stories that they personally don't like or think don't follow or represent the canon of the universe exactly, so if anyone like that reads my story, I respect your opinion but please keep it to yourself, and if you do want to offer criticism at least try and make it constructive.

Anyway, I think that's enough of me rambling, so any further ado I present to you the Prologue chapter The Pale Moon's Hunter.

The full moon was low in the sky, just beginning its slow descent into the night. Despite its low position, it shone brightly, its pale light a beacon of purity in the darkness. However, the pure moonlight did not shine on a pure world. Instead, its rays fell on a city in flames and under siege, its massive defensive gates destroyed and its battlements empty as the pillaging horde took the spoils of war.

But it was not wealth or gold that the invaders desired, instead as the moonlight continued to crawl across the city streets, it revealed untold debauchery and depravity, the sounds of pleasurable moans and screaming mixing and echoed into the night, as the city's inhabitants were preyed upon by vicious and lustful Monsters.

These monsters of the night or Mamono as they had come to be known, did not discriminate against man, woman, adult or child, they would target all. Corrupting the women and young girls to become Monsters like them, and doing unspeakable things to the men and boys, casting a horrific and vicious spell upon them that took away their free will, and made them into nothing more than playthings.

However, as the moon rose higher and higher into the sky, its pure and untainted light crawling across the debauchery happening below. A particular house that had long been claimed by the hordes of lustful Monsters stood out from the rest, as a girl not much older than 4 or 5 years old and a boy only a few years older than her, quickly emerged from the destroyed and broken front door and into the street filled with sin and lust.

Both of them fled from their home that was once filled with happy memories, young girls crying and wailing completely drowned out by the sound of pure debauchery around her and her brother.

The young girl's clothes were torn and shredded, her modesty only just preserved by tattered fabric that clung to her body, in her arms with a large stuffed teddy bear, one of its ears missing with parts of its body noticeably burnt.

The young boy was no much better, most of his body was exposed to the cold night air apart from a pair of heavily ripped-up shorts, which was the only clothing he had to his name. In the hand, which was not holding his sister's, was a medium-sized dagger, its engraved and silvery blade covered in a thin layer of crimson.

The young boy ran, his legs moving on autopilot as he pulled his crying sister behind him. His father's last words, "Take your sister and run," echoed in his ears. Even though he was scared and crying just like his sister, he was determined to follow his father's orders.

Both the young boy and girl continued to run, the boy's legs and lungs beginning to burn as he pushed his underdeveloped body harder than it could reasonably go. However, eventually, the young boy and girl duct into a darkened alleyway, shielded from the moonlight.

The young girl began to cry loudly and she screamed for her mother, the young boy despite his crying for his parents instinctively brought his younger sibling into his embrace. Both children uncontrollably crying, trying to seek the little comfort they could from each other as the conquest and corruption of the city of Lescatie continued unabated around them.

But as the young boy and girl continued to cry their hearts out, they suddenly heard something that caused their blood to run cold, it was the sound of long slow deliberate steps against the cobblestone, followed by the sounds of sultry giggles that sent a chill down both of their spines.

The weeping children watched in horror as a Mamono stepped into the alleyway, her full seductive yet monster visage, being illuminated by the moonlight which was now cascading into the alleyway from above.

Her skin was a dark purple, with large almost tribal-looking tattoos covering every inch of her curvaceous body, atop her head were a pair of large black goat-like horns, her hair was a white silky smooth waterfall that cascaded down her back, a pair of large bat-like wings that jotted out from her upper back flapped excitedly behind her, as her devil-like tail suede from side to side in sync with the motion of her hips.

The young girl began to scream even louder, crying but she didn't want the monster to eat her, her older brother however quickly pushed her behind himself, his little hands bringing the dagger out in front of him defensively, as the shaking from his hands the blood-soaked blade to shine and glisten in the Moonlight.

The Mamono couldn't help but smile at the boy's display, seductively licking her lips, as she came to a halt only a stone's throw away from the boy, the site of both children cowering in fear making her even more excited than she already was. However much to the surprise of the boy and girl she quickly stepped aside allowing someone else to step into the alleyway.

From the shadows emerged a much smaller little girl Mamono, her appearance was almost an exactly smaller replication of the larger Mamono next to her, right down to the purple skin and tribal tattoos.

"What do you think dear? Which one of them would you like to play with first?" The older Mamono spoke in a low and sultry, quickly getting down to one knee, as her hands began to wander the Young Mamono's body while doing unspeakable things to her.

Both children coward even further, backing up as far as they can go until both of their backs hit the dead end of the alleyway, the boy continuing to hold the blood-stained dagger out in front of him even as it looked like it was going to fly out of his hand because of how hard they were shaking.

the younger monster girl, let out moans of pleasure as her older companion continued to caress her, her eyes locking onto the young boy as her unnatural pink pupils stared into his very soul.

"I want to play with him! I want to play with my big brother" Her excited voice and childlike giggle only served to terrify the young boy even more.

The older Mamono, couldn't help but chuckle sadistically, even though she wanted the young boy for herself, she wouldn't mind sharing him just this once considering that her younger counterpart was only freshly turned. As such she quickly took her hands off the young girl's body, motioning for her to take her prize.

The little Mamono excitedly looked up at her larger counterpart before taking off in a dead sprint, rushing towards the young boy at supernatural speed laughing and giggling as she was determined to have her fun. But as she approached the young boy quickly brought the dagger up, holding it out in front of him and closing his eyes, only to feel something crashing in to him yet strangely enough not managing to knock him over.

Opening his eyes after a moment he was horrified to see that the Young Mamono had skewered herself on the dagger, the look of excitement quickly falling off her face as she looked down at the dagger that was embedded into a chest, dark crimson blood beginning to drip from around the edge where the blade had impaled her.

She looked back up at the boy in front of her, a look of betrayal and hurt crossing her little face as blood began to trickle out of the corner of her mouth. However, despite his fear, the young boy pushed her back with his foot, the blade coming free from her chest she fell onto her back, her small body convulsing violently as she let out whimpers and screams of agony before suddenly going silent, the life in her pink eyes vanishing as they became glossy and lifeless.

The older Mamono looked on with interest, she was somewhat unhappy about the death of her young companion, yet she was also pleased in a way because now she could have the young boy all to herself without needing to share.

"My My... What a naughty young thing you are... it's highly inappropriate to harm little girls you know~" She said seductively, slowly and gracefully walking towards the young boy and cowering little girl, completely overlooking the now dead and still body of the Young Mamono she had corrupted earlier in the night.

The young boy despite his fear, continued to protect his sister holding the blade out in front of him, its entire length now covered in dark blood that glistened almost beautifully in the moonlight, but as a single drop fell from the tip of the blade and splattered on the ground, the Mamono suddenly stopped dead in her tracks, a dreadful and oppressive feeling washing over her as the cruel look on her face quickly vanished.

The Mamono slowly turned on the spot, the sound of the city that was being corrupted completely dying away, the only thing that she and the children could now hear was the gentle howl of the wind. However the lustful monster suddenly spotted something at the entrance to the alleyway, it was a dark shape shielded from the moonlight, yet it did not stay that way for long as it quickly stepped out from the shadows.

The monster felt her blood turn to ice, as soon as she saw the full visitor of the figure, her memories from her previous life as a historical scholar came rushing back, the figure in front of her looked just like something from the world of the ancients, it was a being that would claim the souls of the damned and ferry them to the underworld. It was a being that was claimed to have been the right hand of the original god of the dead...

It was death…

The embodiment of death from the time of the ancients stood before her, its tattered and torn-up robes blowing in the cool night breeze, its large and demonic-looking scythe glistening so bright in the Moonlight that it looked as if it was glowing. However, despite the weapon of death looking as dreadful as she had read, the most horrifying part was its face or lack thereof, its head which was partially hidden behind a large and crooked witch-like hat, consisted of a metallic and demonic-looking skull, its six eyes glowing a slightly muted red.

The Mamono felt her body shaking violently, her legs almost giving out beneath her, as a look of pure panic and dread etched itself into her once seductive and lewd-looking features. Any possibility of turning the children into Mamono-like herself was completely forgotten as her mind screamed at her to fly. However as she quickly turned and extended her wings to fly, she heard something that sounded like a rush of wind, followed by the sound of feet on cobblestone.

Death was now instantly in front of her with its back turned to her, the large scythe blade now covered in a thin layer of bright red blood that shone in the Moonlight. The Mamono tried to move yet her body didn't attend to her, but after a moment she unexpectedly felt herself beginning to fall back, and ultimately fall to the floor with a loud wet thump, her eyes slowly tracking upwards as she saw her own body, still standing that above, The Mamono's eyes growing heavy as they sluggishly drifted their way up to the neck. Only to be puzzled to see that that from the neck up.. her head... was... missing?

The children kept their eyes glued on the now headless corpse, watching it stumble for a moment before dropping to the floor like a puppet that just had its strings cut, yet as they continued to watch the corpse, blood slowly streaming out of it. The sound of metallic footsteps on cobblestones quickly forced them to look up frightfully, as the unknown and scary person began to close in on them, the boy bringing the dagger back up to try and protect himself and his sister.

But as the strange approached, He Halted less than arm's-length away from the children, both the girl and boy looking rather surprised as the impossibly tall stranger got down to one knee, which despite lowering his height meant that he still dwarfed both children greatly.

The boy keeping the knife in front of him and his sister glanced from behind his shoulder, both of them flinching slightly as the stranger slowly and deliberately put down the massive scythe, holding his other hand out in a soothing manner as he did, so as to not frighten the children.

Once the weapon was on the ground the stranger, kept his hand held out to the children, both of them withdrawing as the almost skeletal-looking gauntlet approached them before stopping, the boy and the girl both looking and fear and a bit of confusion, as the unfamiliar stranger held out his hand in an almost motioning manner instead of trying to grab them up and do indescribable things to them like they had expected.

"Little ones... I know you're scared, but please don't be scared. come with me and I can take you somewhere safe" Totally counter to his terrifying and otherworldly appearance, the voice of this stranger was calm and smooth, it almost sounded like a small twinkling bell or even the voice of an angel.

Both children felt an almost calming wave wash over them, most of the fear and terror gradually leaving their young hearts, as for some inexplicable reason they felt like they could trust this scary yet seemingly kind stranger. The boy who still had the dagger in his hands slowly dropped it, before gently reaching a hand out to the stranger. Once his hand linked with the stranger the boy was amazed soft and gentle the stranger's touch was despite the almost demonic look that his gauntlet possessed.

The little girl after a moment of cautiously observing what her brother did. Cautiously approached a stranger before quickly wrapping her tiny around his armored gauntlet, his much bigger hand dwarfing both of her miniature ones, yet as she stood there holding the hand of this stranger, she felt her legs begin to sway as the strength began to exit her body, her legs quickly giving out beneath her.

However before she could hit the hard cobblestone that was littered with blood, the stranger quickly caught her and lifted her up into one of his arms, the young girl was caught off guard somewhat as she let out quiet whimpers, yet as the much larger stranger took her into his arm, she glanced up and into the mask that covered his face, and despite its very frightening appearance to the young child.

She couldn't help but find comfort in the scary-looking stranger. Before she nestled herself deeper into the stranger's embrace, the nurturing act completely relaxed her and she hugged her teddy bear even closer to herself.

The stranger quickly stood up, retrieved his weapon and to the amazement of a boy and girl detached the blade and folded the large handle in half before storing them out of sight, before extending his free hand to the young boy who without a second thought quickly took it, the stranger and the two lost children strolling under the pale moonlight as they vanished from the alleyway.

Leaving behind Mamono's two remains, as the moonlight which had been glowing brightly quickly evaporated as a thick layer of clouds began to roll in, the sky opening up as rain began to descend onto the now completely corrupted city of Lescatie.
