1. Chapter 1

A/n This is my first fic on fanfiction,net, so bear with me with formatting! This is a Harmione fic, so if you don't like those, there's your warning. Enjoy! -HpHG12

CHAPTER 1

HARRY'S POV

"BOY! GET DOWN HERE THIS INSTANT!" my uncle bellows from the bottom of the stairs. What did I do now? I think, as I haul myself up off of the bed, wincing. "BOY!" Hold on, before I go down to my uncle, let me give you readers some background information as to why I am sitting here being yelled at by my uncle. Ever since Voldemort came back, Vernon has been harassing me worse than ever. When I told the Dursleys he came back (for their own protection of course) he told me I was " using them for my protection and endangering the safety of a perfectly good neighborhood." I tried to tell him that while I had the protection they did too, but I got a belt in the face before I finished my sentence. Ever since, they have been even pickier than normal about the chores I do, so I assume that this is about the breakfast I just cooked. A good English breakfast, which is what I had prepared, usually got Uncle Vernon in a good mood, but this was having the opposite effect. I saunter down the stairs, panicking a little. And walk in the direction of my uncle's booming voice. "Yes?" I inquire."DON'T YOU ACT LIKE YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!." he says, picking up a piece of toast and showing me the back. A small burn is visible. Crap, how come I didn't notice? "THIS IS UNEATABLE!" says Vernon, scraping everything off his plate and into the garbage. I know what is coming, but know I cannot block it, I close my eyes as the punches land, feeling several ribs break. Then come the kicks, one directly at my face, making my nose break. My uncle then throws me into the cupboard, leaving me in a pool of my own blood. Then, I start to Think longingly of Hogwarts, and Hogwarts meant Ron and Hermione. Hogwarts was my true home. And then, Just as I start smiling, Hedwig comes flying in through the secret hole. When she sees me. She flies off once more. She went for help. Maybe I can get out of here. I think. And then. Everything went black.
