Ryker's Island.

An island that housed the Raft: A Super maximum prison for New York's most notorious and dangerous criminals. Only the incredibly mentally unstable or rather super-humanly enhanced are locked up here by New York's police force and various superheroes.

Such as Dr. Curtis Connors, who was once a brilliant geneticist and old friend of Peter Parker who injected himself with a serum containing reptile DNA to try and regrow his arm but ended up transforming him into the bloodthirsty reptilian criminal known as "The Lizard". While struggling to regain his humanity, the physically and mentally cursed reptilian doctor has either tried to kill the one and only Spider-Man or turn mankind into reptiles, both of which he failed to do. May our almighty lord have mercy on this poor soul as one day a cure for his Ichthyosis may be engineered for him.

Or Mac Gargan, who was once a private investigator hired by the Daily Bugle editor in chief, John Jonah Jameson to take pictures of the city's wall crawler, Spider-Man (who the public didn't know was actually Peter Parker behind the mask) until the DB editor decided to turn said private investigator into his little attack dog against the web-head by making him the subject of a barely-tested procedure, which left Gargan with a scorpion-themed armor with a club-like mechanical tail with the assistance of Dr. Farley Stillwell, the predatory instincts of the scorpion and the loss of his sanity due to his mind being affected by the mutagenic treatment because of the process which turned him into a human/scorpion hybrid as he couldn't remove the armor from his body, eventually driving him to a life of crime. Now known to New York as "The Scorpion", he hated the Daily Bugle editor for essentially ruining his life and attempted to kill him for it, only for Spider-Man to intervene and defeat him.

Or the stepbrother of the telepathic X Men teacher, Charles Xavier, Cain Marko, or as he's usually called as "The Juggernaut", who has gained his immense strength and superhuman levels of speed and durability from a godlike ruby known as the Crimson Gem of Cyttorak, this extra dimensional god. This man was driven to villainy due to jealousy and resentment over his stepbrother and how the world respects him more than the bulked-up powerhouse. So, in response to this, he became the human avatar of Cyttorak himself.

Or Herman Schultz, who the bank worker commonly known him as "The Shocker". A New York high school dropout turned engineering criminal who once started as a burglar before climbing the ranks of the criminal underworld, uses a pair of gauntlets that produces powerful shockwaves so that he can topple banks for their vault's money.

Or Stanley Carter, otherwise known as "The Sin Eater". Once a New York detective and law enforcer who was knowledgeable in martial arts and shotguns, he has decided to "absorb the sins of the world" and become a brutal villain as he was responsible for the death of police captain and his own lover, Jean DeWolf, Judge Horace Rosenthal a friend of the blind masked vigilante, Daredevil, who is the defense attorney known as Matt Murdock when he is not fighting crime, an African American priest named Bernard Finn, who's death led to a great protest against the Sin Eater. He was killed by a SWAT team and got sent to Hell, where he belongs.

Or one the most notorious out of all of these super criminals, Norman Osborn, or who he really known as "The Green Goblin". An immoral industrialist with the resources of a small army from his company of Oscorp, this man has made Spider-Man's life (both in costume and out of it) nothing short of absolute hell as he was responsible for the death of Gwen Stacey (who was Peter's girlfriend at the time), replaced his Aunt May with an actress who died which gave the spider themed hero grief before realizing the ruse, stealing Peter and Mary Jane Watson's child, and making the wife in question think that she had a miscarriage, and was responsible for the death of Peter's clone Ben Reilly. And it wasn't just Spider-Man's life but also other superheroes, like with "The Avengers", you know, Earth's Mightiest Heroes, like when he disbanded SHIELD to further his agenda after killing the Skrull Queen, this race of shapeshifting aliens that invaded earth discreetly thus allowing the higher ups at SHIELD to give him access to this portion of the government naming it HAMMER, replaced the heroes with own group called the Dark Avengers and so on.

But this story isn't about villains like these true believers. No surrey, this story is about a group of villains...

6 evil doers in particular...

Who are they you might ask...?

Well, you're about to find out!

In a prison cell deep within the Raft, lies the big game hunter himself in his natural habitat, Sergei Kravenoff, also known in his birthplace of Russia as "Kraven the Hunter". One of the wall crawler's most dangerous enemies as his skills as a hunter and killer intent has outsmarted his arachnid foe on more than one occasion. The manmade predator still remembered the time where he shot Spider-Man with a tranquilizer dart, buried him alive, took up his mantle, before eventually Peter escaped from his grave and the Hunter eventually killed himself before he was resurrected by his family. A memory he will always cherish in his mind. He then remembers the trip he took to the Savage Lands to discover the truth about his cursed immortality which eventually to a massive hunt between the rich folk in the Lands and supervillains that were captured by the muscle memory mercenary, Taskmaster. A worthy adventure. Yet, those moments still come back to Spider-Man, his most elusive adversary.

In another cell, laid an old man in a strait jacket by the name of Adrian Toomes, or if his criminal name is something to be scared of, "The Vulture", a former New York electronics engineer who was once Gregory Bestman's business partner; Bestman handled the finances whilst Toomes handled the inventions. That was until one day, after creating a flight harness (the basis for his suit), Toomes eagerly rushed into Bestman's office to share the happy news. But Bestman was not there, and Toomes discovered that Bestman had secretly been embezzling funds and that Toomes had no legal recourse, meaning he had lost his job. Justifiably pissed off at this news, Toomes wrecked the business, discovering that exposure to the harness had also granted him superhuman strength. He then decided to turn to crime professionally as the Vulture with a winged suit that not allows him to fly, but also gives the experienced elder augmented, almost superhuman levels of strength, speed, agility and durability.

In another cell was the showman of Riverside, California himself, Quentin Beck, also known as "Mysterio". An accomplished special effects expert inspired when one of his coworkers jokingly suggested that he use his special effects skill to become a costumed villain and kill Spider-Man as well as his desire to show the world was the fact that Beck wrote what he thought was the greatest screenplay ever written. However, the latter was rejected by his peers. Over the years, he used his suit which manifested projections and skills of physiological tactics to torment Spider-Man in many ways like when old fishbowl head posed as a psychiatrist and nearly made Spider-Man reveal his identity one time and while doing the same thing again, made the web head think his caused the death of a civilian. Spider-Man wasn't the only victim of this guy's dastardly machinations as he nearly ruined Daredevil's life after purchasing the hero's true identity from Wilson Fisk, the crime lord known as "The Kingpin", framing his friend Foggy Nelson for murder, made the horn headed hero think that he was given care of the infantile Antichrist, and tricking his longtime love Karen Paige into believing she had contracted HIV before having her killed by his fellow villain, the mercenary "Bullseye" in a convoluted plan to drive another of New York's hero insane when the glass helmeted villain has learned that he had contracted terminal cancer, which failed of course and made him commit suicide and was dead for a while before he was restored to life. Mysterio most dangerous scheme was when he created an android to invade another universe with the help of Harry Osborn, or at the time was known as the mysterious deity he served at the time, "Kindred" in an attempt become the new ruler of the criminal underworld, only to be foiled by Spider-Man and another Spider-Man of the other dimension by the name the of Miles Morales.

In a specialized cell, laid one William Baker, or Flint Marko, or the sandstorm of Queens, New York, "The Sandman". A man who has been on the side of both righteous and wickedness with a genuine desire to change his life around after getting his sand manipulating abilities by going to a nuclear testing site on a beach near Savannah, Georgia out of desperation where he came into contact with sand that had been irradiated by an experimental reactor. His body and the radioactive sand bond to him, which changes Marko's molecular structure into sand. While he started out as an antagonist to Spider-Man, over the years, he has grown to respect the web head and even saved his life more than once. Hell, he was even an Avenger at one point as well as a former lover for the antihero of Symkaria, Silvija Sablinova, otherwise known as the gun-toting "Silver Sable". Sadly, he returns to villainy when he's done being a hero because as he once said, "The moment I think that I'm out, they pull me back." Thanks to his powers, his battle record has expanded from not just New York's web slinger, but also Bruce Banner when he transforms into the Green Goliath known as "The Incredible Hulk", Juggernaut, and even the God of Thunder himself, "Thor". His power over sand is no joke as he's capable of a lot such as regeneration, making his body as hard as granite, shape-shifting his body into a multitude of weapons, and so on. One day, he'll choose who he wants to be.

In another specialized cell, sat Maxwell Dillon, or in the criminal underworld as he is known as "Electro". A once average Joe of New York who was an electrician when he got into an accident while on the job he was struck by lightning, which instead of killing him, instead awoke a mutant gene within him, allowing him to gain power over the literal shocking element which he utilizes in various ways like shutting down the electric impulses in one's brain essentially rendering them brain dead, drain the power out of an entire city and conceal it into himself, shoot blasts of electricity, gain super strength, speed, etcetera. Using his powers just for robbing banks, Max has clashed with Spider-Man numerous times but other superheroes like the first superhuman family, "The Fantastic 4", Daredevil, and even the Avengers. Aside from Sandman, Electro quite possibly considered the most powerful of these six villains.

And finally, the last but not least of these dastardly foes to get locked away in one of the many prison cells deep within the facility, housed one Dr. Otto Gunther Octavious, once a brilliant scientist of New York with an abused childhood now turned supervillain known as "Doctor Octopus" when a radiation leak from an experiment fused a metallic harness with four tentacles to his body. Known as a foil to the famous insect themed hero as while he was all about using the power given to him responsibly, Otto was the exact opposite as he was using the power given to him irresponsibly. His intellect is nothing to scoff at as when his body was dying, he became such a threat that it didn't take just Spider-Man to stop him, but it also took the combined efforts of Silver Sable, the atoning Avenger member Natasha Romanoff, otherwise known as "Black Widow" and most of the other Avengers to work together to stop his rather complex plan of global destruction. Hell, he even took over Spider-Man's body (for a year) in an attempt to save himself from death... only to promise his old nemesis that he'll become not just a better Spider-Man, but a better man in general as Peter "died" in his original decaying body. Now in a clone body thanks to a deal he was forced to make with the devil Mephisto, Otto was now back to being the intelligent and downright deadly Doctor Octopus.

While they do collectively hate each other's guts (more so Otto due to his arrogance (or should I say, superior arrogance) than anyone else) due to their conflicting personalities, own personal needs and/or wanting the glory as being the one who finally defeated Spider-Man, they have joined forces to defeat Peter Parker on more than one occasion to form "The Sinister 6", and together they have not only managed to nearly kill the web swinging hero multiple times, but have also taken it to the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, and even other villain groups like "The Masters of Evil". Despite their plans failing time and again (whether it was Ock's arrogance overriding his intellect or Spider-Man making the villains lose focus and make mistakes with his quips), their chemistry as a team is unmatched. Almost every hero knows how dangerous these guys are whether it would be just one of them out on the streets or all six of them at once ganging up of them.

Inhabitants and Superheroes of New York City beware! For when these six evildoers team up, prepare to be on the edge of your seats and get out of the way!

In this honoring tribute of Stan Lee, Steve Ditko, Jack Kirby, and other various Marvel staff that we have lost over the years and for those who are still with us, I dedicate this story to this while also giving tribute to Cartoon Network, Rebecca Sugar, and the Crewniverse for giving us Steven Universe and in spite of the ups and downs of both franchises, I give my respect to them both and you should to True Believers.
