Chapter One: Jedi Master Plo Koon
So this is from my account on Ao3, and the story as a whole is merely the first part to an expansive story about Izuku Midoriya and his family in the Star Wars universe. I'm probably gonna post a new chapter about every five days.
I hope you all enjoy this and have a wonderful day!

Jedi Training: 1-??
Plo sat down across from a large audience, each seat opposite him filled with a representative from each nation of the planet Earth. The lights shining down on the Jedi from Kel Dor from the ceiling, illuminating the otherwise dark room, a voice spoke from the crowd. "Master Jedi, I must say, it is an honor to be in your presence," a man, the representative from a place called the United States of America, if he was remembering correctly, said.
"No, the honor's all mine," Plo shook his head as he spoke through his breathing mask, which also amplified his voice to sound out through the large room. "You all came here, making the time to visit a single man. No matter their position, that is an astounding honor," Plo insisted.
"Let's cut the needless chit chat, okay?" a woman, the one from Russia, said with a thick accent. "Some of us have better things to do than talk to some space wizard."
Plo was taken aback, though he didn't show it. Sure, the Earth was new to the Republic, all things considered. It had been discovered in his lifetime, which was longer than most's, and it was still in the adjustment period one would expect to come with such a major change. They largely were self sufficient to the point of refusing help from the Republic and it's planets, which wasnt helping their progress. They also remained so ignorant to the state of affairs of the galaxy at large, including the importance of the Jedi Order.
Plo steadied himself, an easy task for a member of the High Council on Coruscant, as he had been for quite some time now. "I understand you all have important business to attend to in your home countries, but this is a matter of galactic proportions," Plo explained. "I don't know if word had reached your ears yet, but the planet of Naboo was recently besieged by the Trade Federation."
"What's that have to do with us?" the representative from Sweden asked nonchalantly. "That's none of our business!" he exclaimed with a laugh.
"Well, the Republic is understandably shaken up by such a move, as there was no provocation from the Naboo. Now, there is talks of the forming of a grand army for the Republic," Plo said slowly and loudly, making sure everyone was listening. Plo could sense a general feeling of apathy in the room, though a few seemed to be somewhat engaged in what he was speaking of.
"Where are you going with this?" the representative from Japan, who happened to be the leader of the Hero Public Safety Commission, an organization that ran all the hero related businesses of her nation, asked. "You can't be expecting us to draft our citizens to be in some kind of army just because of our Quirks?"
Plo shook his head. "That's not what I'm saying, ma'am. The Republic does not, nor will ever, ask for the aid of unwilling civilians," Plo reassured. "If a vote ever were to take place, the Republic may call upon the aid of your heroes." Immediately, the room seemed to explode.
"You can't be serious!"
"This is outrageous!"
"It's unfair!"
"Why would we do that!?"
Plo waved a hand over the crowd, forcing them to quiet down with a mind trick. It seemed to work on most of them, and the others were stunned into silence. "This is not a guarantee. There's always a chance that it will, but as it stands, I find it highly unlikely that we ever request your aid. The Trade Federation's military is relatively small, and there are enough Jedi to handle it."
"Then why did you even come here?" the representative from the United Kingdom asked.
Plo took a deep breath, reciting the Jedi Code in his mind. There is no emotion, there is peace. "While the Jedi can handle the Federation's forces as of late, the Republic is uneasy. The Federation is already gathering allies to support their cause, and by the time we could have the support to mobilize we could face a force too great for just our numbers alone."
"Why should we risk our own for your problems?" asked the Japanese representative, hatred evident in her voice. "The Earth survived on its own before your Republic showed up on our doorstep and we can survive without you!" In a moment, there was an uproar of both those in favor and those opposed to that notion, though the storm of voices quickly calmed when Master Shaak Ti walked into the room, having been waiting just in case for something like that to occur.
"Please, be calm!" cried Shaak Ti, her skin glowing in the light of the amphitheater-like structure's lights. "I promise you the Republic will not intrude on your livelihoods at all costs! Much like many of your nations, it is a democracy without want or need for war!"
Plo nodded. "Only in the most dire circumstances will you be called upon to help."
Izuku Midoriya, a young boy from Earth, the planet of the people with Quirks as they were known throughout the galaxy, was one of the few of his planet who lacked a Quirk, a condition known as being Quirkless. It was because of this status that he was currently laying in the dirt, his face covered in soot from the explosion he had just took head on. His assailant, Izuku's former friend, Katsuki Bakugou, laughed as the green haired boy tried to stand back up, his legs wobbling from pain.
His clothes were in tatters from the explosive Quirk Katsuki had been born with, a powerful ability that would be sure to carry him far in life, because his personality certainly wouldn't. Tears in his eyes, Izuku yelled at Katsuki. "You're a big jerk, y'know that!?" His voice was shrill, but his words made Katsuki pause. "You'll never be a hero like All Might! All Might wouldn't beat up people because they're Quirkless!"
Katsuki's face twisted into a terrifying scowl and he held up a hand. Small pops filled the air as Katsuki slowly approached Izuku, causing him to briefly panic. "Deku..." he muttered as he walked towards the scared boy, who stumbled backwards.
Izuku felt something unusual as Katsuki menacingly walked towards him. It wasn't something he had felt before. As if something powerful were coming, something with a connection to him somehow. Or maybe it was a connection to something else they shared? Whatever it was, the sensation was growing larger. "I was gonna let you go home with only a couple of bruises-"
Izuku was pretty sure he had more than bruises on his body now, but he let Katsuki continue, not wanting to aggravate him any more than he already was.
"But now? Now I'm gonna fucking kill you!"
Dread filled Izuku's heart. He hoped that Katsuki was kidding, but he knew he couldn't run away. His mind throbbed as the strange sensation began to quicken it's approach. His body ached as Izuku felt some kind of energy flow through him.
He had felt like this before, when he tried to mimick what his mother could do with her Quirk, but it hadn't worked. Now, he didn't really care whether it would work or not. He just wanted to survive. His instincts kicked in and Izuku raised an arm. Izuku closed his eyes, bracing for the pain, but it never came.
Izuku opened an eye cautiously, seeing that Katsuki was now floating in the air. A smile formed on his face as Katsuki struggled to move. His explosions didn't cause him to budge an inch. "Damn it, Deku! What the hell is this!?" Katsuki shouted. Katsuki began to rank about him lying this entire time, but Izuku was ignoring him.
He was amazed. Had the doctors been wrong this entire time? Did he actually have a Quirk?
Out of the corner of his eye, Izuku saw a Kel Dorian man wearing robes unfamiliar to him. Izuku lost his concentration of Katsuki as the sensation pulsed. Katsuki hit the ground as Izuku approached the alien. "Deku! Get the hell back here so I can kick your ass!"
Izuku stopped in front of the robed Kel Dorian, his face blank but his mind buzzing with questions. "What's your name, little one?" The tall man asked, squatting to be at eye level with Izuku. Izuku, his brain scrambled from all that had happened so suddenly, stuttered out his name.
"I-Izuku Midoriya!" he chirped, his mind ablaze with so many thoughts. Why did they share a connection, or whatever it was? Why was he here? Seeing an alien on Earth was uncommon, as they generally weren't trusted, especially ones who didn't physically resemble Earthlings.
"I'm Plo Koon. Is something the matter?" Plo asked, a concerned smile evident on his face despite the strange mask he wore. Izuku had seen a photo of a Kel Dorian before, but it had been of them on their home world. Maybe the mask covered the big hole he was supposed to have there?
Izuku glanced back at Katsuki, who was still ranting. He nodded, pointing at the blonde boy. "He's a big bully. He picks on everyone!" Izuku exclaimed.
Plo nodded, as if he expected that answer. "Where's your mother?" Plo questioned, concerned.
Izuku sheepishly looked down to the ground. "She's at home. She always lets me come here while she makes dinner!" Izuku explained. "She isn't in trouble, is she?" Plo shook his head, a small laugh coming through the breathing apparatus he wore. Through the covers on his eyes, Izuku could see happiness.
"Can you take me to her?" Plo asked, getting an eager nod from Izuku, who began to walk in the direction of the apartment he lived in with his mother, a hard working and kind woman named Inko. "Do you know who I am?" The question came out of nowhere, and Izuku had to stop for a moment. Was this some kind of trick question?
"Plo Koon?" Izuku said hopefully. A laugh came from Plo.
"No, I mean do you know what I am," Plo explained.
Izuku frowned, continuing to walk. "No," he said honestly. His robes were odd, perhaps that was a hint, but he didn't know what it be hinting at.
Plo nodded. "Not many people here seem to have respect for us, so I'm not surprised that that is the case." Plo began to go into a long winded tale as they walked home. One of ancient people much like villains called Sith who were seemingly gone for thousands of years, and their opposite, the Jedi, which Plo was one of.
"A Jedi can use the Force, a mystical energy that surrounds everyone and everything in the universe all at once, as can the Sith, to do incredible things a normal person could not," Plo explained. "Many of you Earthlings have a connection to the Force, but your emotions always get the better of you." Izuku was surprised to hear this, because all his life he was told he was powerless.
"If your people weren't so quick to anger, you could all be great Jedi," Plo added.
Izuku looked up at Plo as the apartment became visible in the distance. "Are you saying I could be a Jedi like you?"
Plo nodded. "I believe that, with the proper training of course, you could be a great Jedi, yes," he answered. A hopeful grin came upon Izuku, who became determined to join Plo on his return to wherever he was from. Besides, seeing some place other than Earth would be really cool! Granted, he hadn't seen most of what his planet had to offer, but the opportunity to go somewhere else was tantalizing to the young boy.
Izuku and Plo soon made it to the complex and Izuku led the Jedi up to the apartment he called home. Opening the door with the spare key under the welcome mat, the pair walked inside. The smell of katsudon entered his nostrils. "Oh, you have to try katsudon!" Izuku exclaimed excitedly. "It's the best thing ever!"
Plo chuckled. "I'll be sure to give it a try, Izuku," he said, patting Izuku on the head and ruffling his hair.
"Izuku, sweetie? Who's that?" Inko called from the kitchen as the food boiled in a pot.
"A friend," Izuku answered ambiguously as he walked into the kitchen with his new Jedi buddy. "Mom," he began dramatically as Inko turned. As she gasped, Izuku gave Plo the grand entrance he deserved, jazz hands and all. "Jedi Master Plo Koon!" he said, imaging a dun dun dun! in his head with the reveal.
"A Jedi?" Inko repeated, the shock clearly on display. When she recollected herself, she bowed in respect to Plo. Plo returned the gesture, and Inko gestured for him to sit down. "To what do I owe the pleasure of a great Jedi being in my home?" Inko asked as she turned off the stove.
Plo cleared his throat. "Well, I'm going to say something upfront. If you do agree with my proposal, you won't see your son again," he said, starting off strongly. "Sorry, I probably shouldn't have led with that," he apologized upon seeing the faces Izuku and Inko were making.
"Well, let's start over," Plo decided. "I'm Plo Koon, and as your son said, I am a member of the Jedi Order," he introduced. "The Jedi are made up of individuals who have an innate connection to the Force, such as your son."
Inko frowned and interrupted the Jedi Master. "Are you saying you want my son to join your Order?" she asked, to which Plo nodded.
"Your son could be a great Jedi if he applies himself," Plo confirmed. "But, if he were to come with me, he would likely never see you again."
Inko looked down at her son. "Well, what do you think, sweetie?" she asked.
Izuku thought for a moment. While he did want to stay and try to become a hero, being a Jedi would be like being a pro times a thousand, no a million! And he would get to see new places all across the galaxy on his missions! If all the Jedi were as cool as Plo, then he wouldn't be bullied by people like Katsuki. But, he would miss his mother, that was a guarantee.
"I want to be a hero, mom," Izuku said, getting a nod from his mother, "and being a Jedi would be so much better than just being a pro hero. I want to see the galaxy, mom!"
Inko nodded again, tears swelling in her eyes. "My baby boy!" she exclaimed, hugging her son tightly. "If you do go, become the best you you can possibly become!" Inko encouraged despite her emotions overcoming her. "Become a great hero!"
"I will, mom! I will!" Izuku affirmed. "I'll do my best to be the very best ever, as great as All Might!
"Apologies, but if we do not go, I will be late for an important meeting," Plo said.
Inko hugged her son tighter and let him go. After the two said their goodbyes, Izuku and Plo soon departed from the Earth on the Republic cruiser Plo had came to the planet in. As the ramp raised behind them, Plo pat Izuku on the shoulder. "You made a difficult decision, little 'zuku, but you made the right choice." Izuku smiled at the nickname Plo had given him as they walked to the cockpit of the ship. There was another Jedi on the ship too, though she left the vessel to go somewhere else.
"Have you ever flown a ship?" Plo asked as they took off, the Jedi Master piloting the ship expertly. While Izuku watched the atmosphere shift to the blackness of space, Izuku shook his head. "Well then, I'd grab onto something," he advised. "Your first time can be a little rocky." Izuku did as Plo instructed, though he was confused.
Plo pushed a handle on the console forward and the ship launched forward. A brilliant display of light filled Izuku's vision as the ride became smoother as they settled in. "This is hyperspace," Plo explained, "It's how ships travel between planets that are light-years apart." Izuku nodded, internalizing the information.
It wasn't long before they left hyperspace and a planet lit up by the cities below appeared in front of them. "That's Coruscant, home of the Senate and the Jedi Order. The entire planet is one big city with hundreds of levels." Izuku looked at the cityscape as they descended quickly. The buildings rose above the clouds, of which there were very few in the sky. In the distance, he saw a building with a rounded top, but in front of the ship was a large building with a structure similar to a ziggurat.
The ship landed on a platform next to the large temple and Plo and Izuku exited the cruiser. "You'll need to be judged by the Council of the Jedi Order," Plo informed. Upon seeing the worry on his face, Plo said, "It's standard procedure now, there's no reason to worry.
Plo led Izuku to the entrance of the Temple, which had statues of hooded Jedi wielding a lightsaber. The two Jedi had their lightsabers cross to form an 'x'. Then, they went through a large hall filled with many Jedi both young and old, little and large. Some resembled a regular human, though most were alien species. There was one Wookie that he found, multiple Twi'leks, a Togruta or two, and a handful of Nemoidians. Some pointed at Plo, seemingly in awe, as they entered an elevator that went up a tower.
Plo entered the elevator after Izuku and it began to ascend. "Don't fret, little 'Zuku, the members of the Council are all wise and powerful Jedi," he reassured as the elevator came to a stop. Plo went in first and Izuku followed. Then, Plo took a seat in the circle of chairs, each having a Jedi sat in one. There was one Jedi, a Togruta, who was present as a hologram.
"Brought a young one before us you have, Master Plo?" a small and green Jedi said with a small laugh. Plo nodded.
"I discovered him while on my diplomatic mission to Earth," Plo explained.
A dark skinned Jedi examined him and he felt something wash over him. "There is great ambition in him," he commented, his eyes staying on Izuku as the other Jedi in the room gave various forms of agreement.
"Ambition can be a fault and a boon," a Jedi with a large head added. "It all depends on how it is handled. Ambition can lead to arrogance"
"With proper training, we can root out any arrogance he may possess," the Togruta master decided. Izuku wanted to speak up, but found his lips unable to move. He certainly had no arrogance in him.
"Yes, but what if he follows the ways of his people and follows his emotions? What if he falls to his anger, or his sadness?" a Zabrak proposed.
"I saw him being abused by one of his peers," Plo interrupted. "He did not lash out in anger, despite the hatred his classmate displayed. He merely acted in self defense and did not attempt to bring harm to his abuser." Izuku was grateful for Plo coming to his defense in this meeting to decide his fate, but it could all be pointless in the end.
"A good sign, that is," the green Jedi Master said with a nod. The Jedi looked around, seeing over the Council. Izuku got the feeling he was the head of this group of masters of the Order. "Peaceful negotiations, the way of the Jedi is."
Izuku looked hopefully at each Jedi in the room. "I say we have a vote now," the Togruta Jedi decided. The Council agreed, and Plo was the first to come to Izuku's side.
"Agree with Master Plo, I do," the seeming leader of the Council said with a smile. Izuku returned the simple gesture, thankful for his support.
"I think the boy should be trained," the Togruta agreed. "He wouldn't be the first Jedi from Earth, but he would one of the few." Izuku frowned, believing that if a Jedi from Earth had existed before, he would've heard of them before. Perhaps they were from a time before Quirks? While the Earth hadn't been part of the Republic for very long, they had been known to the galaxy at large since roughly three centuries ago.
"I can't say I agree," the Zabrak decided. "The risk is too great. Besides, Master Plo, didn't that Jedi from Earth, whatever his name was-"
"Yoichi," Plo supplied.
"Ah, yes. I believe he had a brother, a villain who wished to rule over the planet entirely and unopposed?"
Plo nodded. "Last I heard, he was dead, defeated by the Earth's champion. The one they call All Might." Izuku thought it odd he had never heard of such a thing occuring, but perhaps that was simply because it was kept quiet, as unlikely as it was that something so important could be kept a secret.
"It appears you and I are of the same mind," the dark skinned master said. "The boy is a wild card by nature, as is the way of the Earthlings."
The rest of the Council gave their vote, and in the end Izuku was welcomed into the fold of the Jedi Order. The tally ended up being eight to four.
As Izuku left the Council chambers, he had a smile on his face, knowing that no matter what, his life would matter. He would be a great hero, no matter what people like Katsuki said. If only he could see him now.
