Hello, fellow trainers. Centurion Maximo here and welcome back to Rwby: Remnant's Trainers. In the last chapter, we conversed with the five that arrived in the chapter previous to it, most notably Shauntal whom Pyrrha quickly grew jealous of thanks to the novelist seemingly hitting it off with Jaune. Shauntal brought out her Litwick Wicky in a battle with Achilles and managed to beat the Bagon, though it was close.

Time for a Team JNPR-centric chapter with Forest of Friends!
*Beacon Academy. Team JNPR Dorm. 08:00 am*
It was a slow day today since the faculty was busy trying to find more people than the five that came in yesterday. Thus, the students were encouraged to try and find Pokemon all their own. While this was happening, Nora was surprisingly quiet. The reason being? She had an easel in front of her with various colors of paints and a medium-sized canvas. Currently, she was using brown for the last little bit and she was focusing like crazy.
Just then, the Spartan walked out of the bathroom fully clothed after a relaxing shower and a smile. "Hey, Nora, the shower's all-" Pyrrha stopped herself as she saw what Nora was doing. "Nora? Are you… painting?"
"Shh…" Nora shushed softly with a finger to her lips. "I'm trying to focus on this last bit here."
Jaune and Ren were looking at this. "Nora? You're being unusually quiet." Jaune commented with a raised eyebrow, having never seen the valkyrie like this. Ace was perched on his bedpost for the time being and was also looking at Nora with confusion.
"Guess Moss has been mellowing her out." Ren had a light smile on his face, Lotus mimicking him.
A couple minutes later, Nora had finished her painting: It was Moss giving his smile as well as a thumbs up with his left hand, but she had painted him in a grassy meadow with a blue sky with some clouds and a slight breeze. "Finished. Well, what do you guys think for my very first painting?"
Jaune, Pyrrha, and Ren walked over to give their opinions. "Nora… it's beautiful." Pyrrha smiled.
"You did a very good job, Nora." Ren complimented with his small smile. Nora brought him in for a soft hug.
"Nora, you may have a talent for this." Jaune said, his own smile present on his face.
"You really think so, fearless leader?" Nora looked at the blonde with her turquoise eyes beaming a little.
"I have a good feeling, Nora." Jaune assured her.
"So, Nora, Ren, it must be great to see Sabrina again after years of being apart." Pyrrha brought up.
"Oh, you have no idea, Pyrrha." Ren responded. "The three of us were together for a long time until she decided to go on her own to try and fight the people we've fought like Team Galactic."
"Sure, we kept in contact after she left, but it's not the same thing." Nora added with a frown, but quickly regained her smile. "So, seeing her again and in Beacon of all places, it's great."
"That's good. I admit it will be good to be working with Ebonie again." Jaune said. "Dark-Fang did miss me and Ace a lot." Ace flew over and took his spot on his trainer's shoulder.
"I'm more interested in you and Shauntal." Nora grinned slyly, lightly wiggling her eyebrows. Pyrrha softly tensed at Nora's tone.
"Nora, come on." Jaune blushed slightly. "She did explain that her 'Ghosties' won't let me work with her."
"What about being with? They seemed to allow that." Nora adds.
"Oh, sure. They'll allow me to hang out with her, but not to write together." Jaune clarified. "If they ever do allow me to work with her, it may be a while."
"I have a feeling that they'll accept you sooner than you think." Ren voiced.
"Anyway... Who do you think will get a Pokemon next?" Pyrrha asked, changing the subject.
"That I don't know, but I agree with Shauntal saying to expand your roster, Pyrrha." Ren added. "So far, all of Team RWBY has at least two Pokemon and Nora has Moss. You, me, and Jaune still only have one."
"Then maybe we should ask if Team JNPR can take today to train our Pokemon as well as ourselves." Jaune suggested.
"Awesome suggestion, Jauney!" Nora cheered, instantly agreeing with the idea. "Though, should we train in the Emerald Forest or Forever Fall?"
"Now, that's a good question." Jaune put a hand to his chin. "Why don't we go to Forever Fall? It's got the higher-level Pokemon."
"Yes! You hear that, Moss? More sap for us!" Nora picked her Slakoth up and he took his spot on her back.
"Nora, no. You will not go there just so you can get more sap." Ren reminded.
"Aww…" Nora cutely pouted.
*Forever Fall Forest. Team JNPR. 09:01 am*
An hour later, Team JNPR was in Forever Fall Forest, ready to train themselves as well as their Pokemon. "Alright. Now, let's split up into pairs. Pyrrha and I will go west while Ren and Nora go east." Jaune had this planned out. "Now, Ren, be careful with Lotus. He's vulnerable to Bug types and there's quite a few species of them in here."
"I understand, Jaune. We'll be careful." Ren bowed his head before walking off with Nora who had a skip in her step.
"Well, Pyrrha. Let's get going." Jaune gestured and Pyrrha walked with her team leader.
Back with Nora and Ren, they were paying attention to their surroundings as this forest was still a good place for Grimm to launch a sneak attack on them. "Hey, Renny?" Nora asked, getting Ren to look at her. "Could you tell that Pyrrha was jealous of Shauntal yesterday?"
"I'd say that's pretty obvious, Nora." Ren deadpanned. "I've already heard many guys in the school trying to woo her and all of them failing."
Suddenly, a moth-like Pokémon with two pairs of wings appeared in front of the pair.. It had a purple, egg-shaped body with a jagged fringe on its rear. Its tattered, green wings were wide and flat, forming a disc-shape around its body. They had red markings in the form of rings and streaks, a darker green line around the edges, and contained toxic dust. This Pokémon also had two pairs of red, stubby legs and yellow, stylized compound eyes. There was a pair of fuzzy, yellow antennae on top of its head.
"Ooooohhh!" Nora's eyes sparkled for the second time today. "Look at that Pokemon…"
"It's a Dustox, Nora." Ren reminded. "I will fight it if I must, but Dustox aren't aggressive by nature." The Dustox flapped over to Ren and began feeling him with its antennae.
"Hehe… it looks like it's trying to tickle you." Nora giggled into her hands.
"Duuusstoooox~" the large moth then says almost sounding like it was purring as it suddenly attaches itself to Ren's back and almost snuggles against him.
"Awww..." Nora cooed. "It likes you."
"Hmmm... they are attracted to light, like aura, but still why me?" Ren wonders aloud.
"Moths have a wild sense of smell right?" Nora then asks.
"Yes, that's true. What do you think it's smelling on me?" Ren asked.
"Well uh... I know you tend to smell very nice with all of your work with leaves, flowers, and confectionaries." Nora points out.
"So, you're thinking it likes the smell of the herbal tea I made for myself when I woke up." Ren deduced.
Nora shrugs, "Eh, just making guesses."
Ren could feel the Dustox still snuggling against him. "Do you... want to come with me as my second Pokemon? You see, I make a lot of stuff involving leaves like the ones in this forest I think you'd like."
The Poison Moth pokémon perks up and flies off of Ren to face him smiling brightly, "Dustox!" It cheers happily.
"Wait, Renny. If you're going to take it with us, you gotta name it." Nora pointed out.
Ren put a hand to his chin and tapped his foot in thought. "Hmm… How about Yichen?" The 3'11" moth tilts its head a little before smiling and yelling again in a cheerful tone as they begins to fly around Lie Ren happily.
"Alright. Yichen it is." Ren managed a smile.
However, the happy moment couldn't last right now as Moss woke up and pointed to something approaching. "Slakoth..."
'What is it, Moss?" Nora asked. Suddenly, at least three Scyther appeared, their blades sharp and ready to fight. "Scythers?!" Nora exclaimed. "I thought they weren't in Forever Fall Forest!"
"Apparently, we were mistaken." Ren said.
The Scyther trio just charged at the pair who evaded their attack by jumping out of the way. Unfortunately, Scythers had speed on their side as they turned back around and made another run at them. They attacked by swinging their blades for hands down onto the ground which created a small shockwave. "Whoa! They seem angry!" Nora was a little surprised that the Scyther trio was so quick into attacking her and Ren.
"Nora! Bring out Thor! Scyther is Flying type as well as Bug! His electrical attacks will be super effective!" Ren brought up as he brought out Stormflower to block their blades.
"You got it, Renny!" Nora threw Thor's Poke-Ball and the Attaching Pokemon came out. Thor might've still been small, but he was much stronger now. "Thor! Electro Ball!" Nora shouted. Thor did just that as he looked at the leftmost Scyther and fired a ball of electricity at it. Luckily, the ball was fast enough to hit said Scyther and it reared back in pain. "Alright, Thor! That was good for your first time using your new move!" She cheered. Moss gave Thor a thumbs up.
Meanwhile, Ren was in a fight with the second Scyther, blocking its blades with Stormflower. Lotus helped out as much as it could by smacking the Bug/Flying Type across the face with its tail, but he had to retreat just as fast lest he get hit. Yichen flapped its wings as purple spores suddenly fell from them. Ren and Lotus recognized this and quickly moved out of range while the Scyther was covered in said spores. Just as quickly, it started glowing purple every few seconds. "Poison Powder..." Ren mused. "Now that could come in handy..." He and Lotus ran back into the fray to continue the fight.
Back with Nora, Thor, and Moss, they were trying to find an opening to attack the lead Scyther that had a scar over it's right eye, signifying it'd been in a hard battle previously. "Damn it! Can't get a good shot!" She cursed to herself in frustration holding Magnhild in her hands. The lead Scyther rushed forward and used Double Team. Suddenly, multiple copies of the Scyther appeared right in front of them. The three couldn't tell which one was real until it was too scyther hit Nora hard, slamming her into a nearby tree, back-first. "Agh!" She exclaimed in slight pain, but her aura was already patching her right up.
"Nora!" Ren shouted wanting to go over and help her, but he still had the poisoned Scyther to deal with. Yichen floated back down to the two. "Lotus! Yichen! We have to deal with this Scyther quickly so we can help Nora and her Pokemon!" Both nodded and looked at the Scyther who still looked very determined to fight despite being poisoned.
"Treecko!" Lotus shouted with conviction.
"Dustox!" Yichen chittered, seemingly glaring at the Scyther.
"Scy!" The poisoned Scyther hissed as it sped towards them and used Quick Attack which knocked Ren and Yichen back as the Poison Moth Pokemon could barely see it coming, but Lotus managed to jump out of the way.
When the Wood Gecko Pokemon looked back, he saw Ren and Yichen knocked down. The Scyther was readying its blades to attack the two again. Lotus summoned up a burst of strength and leapt towards them. Time seemed to slow down as Ren and Yichen saw Lotus almost in the path of the Scyther's blades. All of a sudden, a bright white light shone all over Lotus. Ren knew what this was: Lotus was evolving! In seconds, a bipedal Pokémon similar in appearance to a theropod dinosaur stood in front of his trainer and new friend. It was primarily green with a red underside. There was also a belt-like green stripe across its belly. Its hands had two clawed fingers and powerful legs with birdlike feet. It now had well-developed muscles that made it an expert climber and allowed it to leap quickly from branch to branch. Lotus now had three long leaves on its wrists, a large leaf on top of its head, and two tails that had a leafy appearance.
Ren looked on in shock as Lotus, now a Grovyle had blocked the Scyther's blades with his own Leaf Blade. "Lotus…" Ren breathed. Lotus turned to give his trainer a wink before kicking the Scyther in the leg before jumping over, landing behind it, and delivering its own Quick Attack to the back of the head, hurting it more. Lotus then grabbed the Scyther's legs and threw it into a tree, face-first. He then rubbed his hands with a smirk.
"Nice one, Lotus." Ren complimented, walking over and patted Lotus on the right shoulder.
"Dustox!" Yichen cheered.
Nora, on the other hand, was having a harder time than Ren with the two remaining Scythers. She wasn't as fast as Ren and she had to deal with two Scythers instead of one. She fired a grenade from Manghild which had her heart on it. However, as soon as it exploded, the Scythers were gone. They reappeared, the first one using Fury Cutter on Moss, making a small x and knocking the Slakoth down. "Moss!" Nora screamed before getting hit with a Quick Attack which made her wince.
The Slacker Pokemon hurt from the pain he just experienced. He usually did his best to avoid pain like that. Slowly, but surely, he began to get up, though wincing in pain. What he laid eyes on next shocked him.
Moss saw Nora and Thor in trouble. It wanted to do more, but it wasn't nearly fast enough. However, over the last couple days, it felt something rising within him. Gaining a determined expression, it clenched its clawed fists. The point was when he saw his trainee and friend about to be double slashed by the Scythers. "SLAKOTH!" Moss shouted at the top of his lungs, making them all look at him as light began shining.
"Whoa! Moss is evolving!" Nora's Slakoth was covered in a bright white light and suddenly stood mostly upright as well as doubled in size. Moss suddenly rushed forward and blocked the attacks of the Scythers with his claws. When the light faded, in the place of the Slakoth stood a white, sloth-like, bipedal Pokémon with a teardrop-shaped tuft of red fur on its forehead. It has stubby ears, two small, triangular teeth in each jaw, a brown lower jaw, and large eyes encircled by brown rings. There were two stripes on its back, which were also brown. Its arms were long, and its hands and feet had two sharp black claws. The undersides of its hands and feet had circular red pads, and its rear also had a baboon-like patch of red. The fur on its chest, tail, and sides of its maw were shaggy. "Whoa!"
"Vigoroth!" Moss roared happily as it looked at itself. He then ran over to his trainer and friend.
Nora just straight up hugged Moss with a wide grin. "Moss! You evolved into Vigoroth!"
Moss hugged Nora back before turning to glare at the Scythers. "Vig…" He growled.
Moss used his new Flail attack and like the name suggested, he failed around but since he was at low health, the blows delivered to the Scythers were wild, but powerful. Nora and Thor could only stand there and watch Moss give the two Mantis Pokemon a beatdown.
When Moss was finished, the Two Scythers weren't down, but they were weakened. "Alright, Thor! Let's do it! Shock Grenade!" Thor hopped on the grenade just as Nora fired it straight at the two Scythers whose eyes widened. However, they couldn't move fast enough as the grenade exploded as soon as it reached them, pink dust clouding them with electricity surging.
When the dust dissipated, the two Scythers were knocked out with Xs in their eyes. Thor was skittering back to Nora who scooped him up. "Amazing, Thor!" The Attaching Pokemon rubbed against her cheek which she giggled. The two then looked at Moss who was smiling. "You look awesome Moss."
"Goroth..." Moss saw softly as he couldn't resist another tight hug with Nora.
"Come on, Moss. Time to go back into your Poke-Ball. I'll heal you fully when we get back to Beacon." Nora said in concern. Moss was too tired to refute, so he complied.
With Jaune and Pyrrha, they hadn't encountered any wild Pokemon yet. So, they were walking around and just talking. "You think we'll find our second Pokemon in here?" Jaune asked, wanting Ace to have some new friends.
"It's possible, but remember that we were in here last time and only Ruby found her second Pokemon." Pyrrha answered truthfully.
"That's true. Anyway, are you okay?" Jaune asked, a look of concern on his face.
"Oh, I'm okay, Jaune. Why do you ask all of a sudden?" Pyrrha asked back.
"Well, when Nora mentioned Shauntal earlier, you tensed up." Jaune brought up.
Suddenly, they heard splashing. The two ran to the source which turned out to be a pond. Who knew a body of water, no matter it being smallish, was in Forever Fall Forest. Said pond was surrounded by red-leaved trees and a few berry bushes. "Wow… It's pretty." Pyrrha muttered. They heard the splashing again and the source was a piscine Pokémon with large, heavy reddish-orange scales. It had large, vacant eyes and pink lips. Its pectoral and tail fins were white. On its back was a stiff, three-peaked yellow fin, resembling a crown; there was an identical fin on its underside. It also had long barbels. "A Magikarp?"
"Huh… Didn't expect to find that little guy so close to Beacon." Jaune commented, but he noticed something about the Magikarp: It was looking at his partner. "Pyrrha, it's staring at you."
"I gathered that much, Jaune." Pyrrha smiled slightly at Jaune before looking at the Magikarp in the eyes. "I heard that so many people look down on you because you're one of the weakest Pokemon, but everyone has potential."
"Karp." The Magikarp said almost… happily.
"There are other things people overlook." Jaune added as he sat down next to Pyrrha. "Magikarp's immune systems are so strong that they can survive even extremely polluted waters. That's damn impressive to me."
"Would you like to come with me?" Pyrrha asked, reaching her hand to the Fish Pokemon. The Magikarp looked at her hand inquisitively. "You have potential within you. I can look past your obvious weakness and will help you reach your inner strength."
"Magi!" The Magikarp flopped happily as it leaned into her hand.
"Looks like you have your second Pokemon, Pyr." Jaune smiled, the spartan blushing at the little nickname. "What're you gonna name him?"
"Poseidon." Pyrrha answered without hesitation.
"In the meantime, I'm glad Ren gave us our own berry pouches." Jaune said as he walked over to a berry bush covered in Oran Berries. He picked a couple of them before moving on to another bush. "We should pick some of these berries and take them back to Ren. He'll find something to do with them."
"Good idea, Jaune." Pyrrha put Poseidon in the second Poke-Ball on her person before joining the blonde knight in berry picking.
*Vale. Team Galactic Hideout. 11:23 am*
In the Team Galactic Hideout, Roman, Commander Mars, Joey, and Rachel were standing just outside as if waiting for something. "Ugh… When will he get here?" Roman asked, wanting to go back inside.
"Don't worry, Roman. He'll be here any minute now." Rachel reassured and just as she said that, a stolen Bullhead descended from the sky. Once it touched the ground, a young man hopped out. This young man was about 22-years old with blonde hair reaching down to the top of his back, blue eyes, and pale skin wearing the Team Galactic uniform, but the pants were torn to be more like shorts and the jacket was torn like Joey's, but with short-sleeves. He had an old-school musket, but slightly modified to hold dust and the saber had the same modifications. He had a Pignite beside him that was grinning from ear to ear.
"Robert!" Joey shouted happily.
"Hey! Joey!" Robert responded with a smile of his own. They both hugged each other for a minute. "I, uh... heard about what happened. Sorry, man."
"Eh..." Joey shrugged. "I'm honestly trying to not let it get to me." He then turned to glare at Roman. "However, some people just won't let it go."
"Well, look at it this way: You still managed to take the dust, so I think that's a win. Plus, I heard that Roman curbstomped the Schnee, so that must've been fun to see." Joey reasoned.
"Yeah, that's true." Joey nodded in agreement. "Anyway, now that you're here. We can begin Phase 2." Joey said.
"Excellent. Let's get to it." Robert smiled. The two rejoined the other three and they headed back inside to discuss Phase 2.
Hello, everyone. I hope you all liked this chapter of Rwby: Remnant's Trainers. It seems that Nora Valkyrie's taken a new hobby: Painting. Later on, they go into Forever Fall Forest for training and great things happen there. With Nora and Ren, Lotus and Moss evolve into Grovyle and Vigoroth respectively while fighting off a trio of wild Scyther. Not only that, but Ren befriends a wild Dustox which he names Yichen.
With Jaune and Pyrrha, Pyrrha finds a Magikarp which she names Poseidon. It may be ironic giving one of the strongest first-years in Beacon a Magikarp, but we all know what Magikarp evolves into.
In the end, we take a look back at the Team Galactic Hideout in Vale. We meet Robert "Force" Gale, another of Joey's crew in Team Galactic. He's got a Pignite named Jim. Robot "Force" Gale was provided by Bucky749, so thank you so much.
