Hello everyone! I see you guys really like this idea and I am glad you guys enjoyed the first chapter of Arcful Romance
So I don't want to spoil every monster girl species for each RWBY girl, but there will be obvious characters that will just keep their Faunus animal traits and gain more to show differences.
Like Velvet and Blake, Velvet will probably be an Usagimimi and Blake would either be a Nekomata or a Werecat.
Everyone else is fair game for my thought process, but I will assure you there will be some classics monster girls like Mermaids and Lamias in this group, but you might be surprised who is what.
As for how many are gonna be part of 'Darling' Jaune's harem, I don't want to overly stuff how many characters will be with him in the end. The max I already have is seven or eight. Which includes the homestays with our blonde noodle.
So... I am giving him a plus one only, it just depends on who I want with Jaune at the end.
I'm not going to budge on this stance cause if I add too many, certain characters won't get the notoriety and writing time that I want to give them.
So I will give Jaune a max of eight monster ladies that he will be romantically involved with, one of which will not be in the house.
Now with that little info dump out of the way, back to our regular scheduled program of seeing Jaune deal with the fact that Monster Girls are real.
One last thing, This world is different because of no world ending threats, so this is a more peaceful Remnant. But it doesn't mean its fully safe from destruction. Mostly because proper Grimm don't exist.
Remember what I said there are Grimm in this world... But not in the way you guys think there will be.
I don't own RWBY, but if I did I'd think of some way to make it into a romantic comedy.
Chapter 2: Hello My Name Is Ruby Reaper Rose
"Uhhhhh what happened?"
Jaune felt his body start to wake up from... passing out? Did he fall asleep or something?
"Oh Oum... That was a crazy dream. I could of swore I saw a little girl lose her head like the Headless Horseman." He thought, feeling slightly dizzy.
He shook his head to get the sleep out of his system. From what Jaune could recall he was having a meeting with that representative today and he met his...
"Oh thank goodness your awake!" Ruby came into his vision with her head on top of her shoulders once more. "Ms. Coco! Jaune just woke up!" Her head turned and told the agent sitting at the dinner table, sipping on a mug of fresh coffee, the liquid was steaming hot just the way the agent liked it.
But Jaune started to yelling out loud, from the couch when he saw the little red hooded girl, and remembered what happened a few minutes ago.
"AAAHHHHHH!" Jaune couldn't believe she was real, the blond thought he was in a nightmare when he saw her lose her head, and when he passed out he'd wake up and thought this was all a bad dream.
But that was not the case at all! She was REAL! This girl lost her head right in front of him, hell could he even call her a girl?
So he kept screaming and trying to scoot away from the pale...person or whatever in Oum's name she was.
"ZOMMMBIEEEE!" He pointed at yelling at Ruby, making her confused at what he called her.
"Um... I'm not a zombie buddy, I am actually called a Dullahan." The small reaper corrected him.
"WHATEVER YOU ARE! PLEASE DON'T EAT MY BRAINS!" The blond continued to scream out towards her, which only made her sweat drop from his total freak out.
"Ms. Coco? Are sure he's gonna be ok to be my host here?" Ruby gestured towards the panicking blond noodle. "He seems a little... off to me." The girl wasn't too sure about him, he seemed like he wouldn't be able to take her living with him. After that passing thought, the reaper girl felt a little depressed of that thought, with a little raincloud over her head in sadness.
But the agent wasn't phased by the Dullahan's question as she went back into the kitchen to get glass of water. " Don't worry little rose, he'll be just fine, I'll make sure he takes care of everything you need when you're here." Coco reassured her and patting the girls head. The brown suited agent went towards the freaked out blond to calm him down.
Before the teen was going give his lungs a full workout again, agent Adel threw the water in the glass at Jaune. The blond in question got splashed in the face and started coughing from getting some water in his nose and throat.
" 'cough' 'cough' Pfffft... HEY! What the heck did you do that... for..." His retort died in his mouth when he looked up at the irritated looking agent. Jaune could feel his soul being crushed by the angry glare and the sheer aura that Coco gave off through her sunglasses. It was like his mother was in the house about to go into 'scolding mode' from how Ms. Adel looked at him.
He only shivered at the thought of the Matriarch of the Arc household, his mother's scoldings, were absolutely terrifying when angry and Coco was giving Jaune flashbacks of her rare temper.
"You done getting your shit together?" Jaune only whimpered out, nodding so fast he could be a bobble head. "Good. Now I know that you have probably have some questions about this whole homestay thing considering your little... freak out. So why don't we all have a CALM and PEACEFUL talk over by the table, does that sound good Jaune?" Coco said with a sickly sweet smile that promised the Arc pain if he did anything otherwise.
"Y-Y-Yeah calm! That sounds great." He stuttered out in fright. Honestly at this point, he didn't know who was more scary currently the headless reaper girl or the human agent woman.
"Awesome." Her mood returning back to her cool persona. "Rubes sit next to me won't you?" Coco smiled and clapped her hands together, all of three of them took a seat on one of the chairs, Ms. Coco and Ruby sat next to each other and across them was a frazzled Jaune across from them.
"So..." Coco began the talk, "I can tell by your panic attack a few seconds that you didn't know what this homestay project entailed did you?" Coco said, getting a nod from the blond. "Did you at least read the paperwork to see an idea of what's going on?" Jaune shook his head left to right showing that he didn't.
The mocha haired business woman let out in a pleading voice "Seriously? Nothing?" Jaune felt the disappointment in her voice.
"Sorry." Jaune looked embarrassed as he only stared at the floor, it definitely looked more interesting than confronting this agent about this wild situation.
However Coco only let out a sigh of frustration, "Ok... guess we are going to have to start at the beginning for you." As she took a sip of her wonderful hot coffee, giving her the calming feeling she needed. "So Jaune. As you can see here with your own eyes, Ruby is something we call a Limnal or in layman's terms: A Monster Girl." Which made the blonde only raise his eyebrows in disbelief.
"Monster... girl. You mean like in those Mistralian manga and anime?" the blond feeling his mind was about to be blown. "So what you're telling me that anime is real?!" So many... lewd things would be brought to life if that was the case.
Things he would definitely tell no one as long as he lives and will take those perverse thoughts to the grave.
Which only made the agent and reaper girl sweat drop from his... enthusiastic outburst.
"Uhhhh... No." deflating the blonde's hype in an instant. "But if you're wondering if monster girls do exist in real life, then you'd at least be correct in that aspect." Jaune still in shock from that reveal.
Maybe certain dreams do come true...
"So..." He turned towards Ruby as she hid in her hood to avoid his gaze. "Monsters are real?"
Coco Adel only lowered her sunglasses to gaze at Jaune with her brown orbs. "You'd be correct Arc, though I'd prefer you to call Ruby here by the name Liminal though. While she is not human, she is still a beautiful woman and deserves a much nicer title than calling her a monster." the agent corrected.
"Oh! I am so sorry Ruby, please forgive me for being so rude!" Jaune clapped his hands together and bowed for forgiveness.
"Its... Its ok. I know you didn't mean it." She gave a cute little smile towards the blonde. Making the blond teen blush slightly, he couldn't help it this despite her being a headless monster girl she was as cute as a button.
"To continue on..." Coco said, taking a sip from her second cup of coffee. "Mmmm... this is a delicious brand... IF you needed a reason of why you weren't able to find these girls is simple. The world government of Remnant, which are the combined nations of the world had been keeping these girls a secret from the human population, until they figured it was time to reveal themselves. When we felt humankind was starting to mellow out and become more accepting here, the HDA for Vale and certain Liminal species that were willing to talk and negotiate agreed that they wanted volunteers, certain species wanted to experiment with learning more about human culture. Most of the species have abided by the agreements and rules. We as agents are here to make sure the process is held smoothly and that the laws are being followed by both parties."
"Any kind of incident that civilians or other personnel that weren't tied with law authority have been covering tracks." Coco sighed out as she still tasted that heavenly caramel latte on her tongue. "We've been efficient on incidents with more 'frisky' Liminals that refuse to listen. However we can't be everywhere so some will slip through the cracks and hide in the continent they are closest to." The agent explained.
"Wait if your directly tied to the government, shouldn't you be able to contain these incidents easily? How many Liminal incidents have happened?" Jaune questioned.
"That... is something even I can't answer Arc." Coco chuckled out.
"Why not, how many of these girls are there in Remnant?" The blond was confused by her answer, weren't these professionals at finding these girls?
"First of all that's classified stud."The agent lowered her glasses and gave the teen a playful smirk. "Secondly, even if I tried to explain how many we have. I would have to go through my paperwork back at the office. All with thousands of different types of girls, and trust me on this one, we would be talking for hours about this." Coco said as she finished the rest of her hot beverage.
The blond's eyes widened in disbelief. "There are that many girls. Girls like Ruby out there!?" He could only look at his homestay in surprise, he thought that this Ruby girl would be like finding a unicorn in the wild.
But there are even more like that in the world.
"You'd be correct there Jauney boy!" Coco let the coffee cup she had thud down as she finished the tasty beverage. " However. If you think that little Ruby here is a common kind of Liminal like others, then you'd be dead wrong there Jauney, and I do mean it when I say 'dead'." Coco's smile turned a bit sinister.
A smile that made the young Arc freeze in terror. "S-So what k-kind i-is s-she?" The teen getting frightened once more.
"Well I would tell you, but I think the Liminal in the room should do the honors." Coco waved her hands toward the reaper girl. "Ruby, the floor is yours."
"Oh!" The young headless girl said, as she managed to put her talking appendage on her neck, screwing it on and standing up from the chair. Before the room suddenly darkened in dramatic tension.
"Greetings mortal! I am the slayer of souls, guide of the undead to the afterlife, the harbinger of death itself!" The pale girl speaking in a menacing tone to talk herself up. "I am Ruby Rose, Reaper of Death!" She laughed out in a sinister chuckle, scaring Jaune a bit from that as a purple miasma in cased her body as she picked up her scythe and pointed at her host. "And I have come to reap your soul!" Jaune let out yelp of fear from that.
Reap his soul? He didn't sign up for this! "AAAAHHHHHHH!" The blond yelled out in fright.
The girl continued to laugh as she finally scared someone with this. Finally! She could actually be scary to someone!
The moment however was short lived, as agent Coco quickly yanked the little reaper's weapon out of her hands, breaking the moment of dramatic tension for everyone as the reaper girl didn't feel her prized weapon in her hands.
"Hey! Give my baby Crescent Rose back!" Ruby's tone immediately 180'd as she turned from a menacing figure of the undead to Jaune, into a little teenage girl that just had her phone taken away from her. As Ruby went to take back her scythe from the agent, her head wasn't screwed on as tight as she thought, as her head went tumbling to the ground after a couple of steps. "Ow! Oum dang it why does this keep happening to me!" she whined, but as her head finally focused she had the terrifying sight of her agent.
Agent Coco had a menacing smile on her face, with her scythe in her hands. "Ruby honey, remember what we talked about a few minutes ago? First impressions being good impressions." The mocha haired woman said in a sickening sweet tone that promised pain. "Remember when we scared this poor man to death? Because I certainly do..."
"Y-Yes Ms. Adel..." Her head was absolutely terrified, as Coco continued to cast a shadow over her vulnerable head.
Where the hell was her body!?
She turned her silver eyes toward two frightened bodies in the corner, Jaune absolutely terrified of agent Adel, with her body behind him using him as a shield from the scary woman. Ruby's head suddenly was picked up by the agent and looked into her eyes, the headless girl fearing for her life as she saw the bloodthirsty look on the agent's face.
"We wouldn't want anymore fainting accidents with would we Ruby?" The head was now quaking in fear as Ruby felt she was like looking at death himself with how agent Coco Adel was looking at her. A shadowy demon with sharp teeth being shown in the Dullahan's eyes.
"Y-Yes M-Ma'am. N-No m-more o-of t-that I-I p-promise." Ruby stuttered in fear for her undead life.
"Ok... She is definitely the scarier person compared to Ruby." The blond thought as she saw Ruby cower in fear from this oppressing woman. If anything agent Coco was so terrifying that she'd almost make the girl cry.
With that confirmation said, the agent's demeanor changed drastically. "Good girl!" The evil force behind the agent was gone, "I'm glad we had this discussion again Ruby." Coco looked back towards the two cowering bodies in the corner. "Catch!" Coco underhand tossed the girl's head to the two.
"Whooooaaaa somebody catch me!" Ruby's head went as Jaune and Ruby's body tried to catch the flying head. Only for both to fail spectacularly, the head hitting Jaune in the face and flying towards the kitchen counter where her body tried to catch her, only to get squished by the falling human man.
"OW!" Jaune held his nose from the pain, while the body was flailing underneath the blonde. However he quickly got up from the hit to make sure he wasn't crushing the body. Ruby's body then stood up and turned towards the teen, having its hands on her hips and looking in his direction with its foot tapping on the floor, like it was expecting an apology from the boy.
"Ummmm... Sorry?" He said sheepishly, as the body only sharply turning around to retrieve the head with her fists down like it was upset with him. Jaune turned towards the scythe wielding agent in confusion, "Is she mad at me?"
"Well... that depends. Since Ruby is a Dullahan Liminal." Coco said.
"A Dullawhat?" The blond never heard of that before.
"Right, still need to explain this to you." The agent sighed out as she adjusted her sunglasses on her face. "So Ruby wasn't exaggerating when she is called the guide of the undead." Making Jaune's eyes widen in fear, however Coco only put her hand out to stop the reaction, "Before you freak out again just listen before I have to hit you over the head with this mug!" Which got a fast nod from the teen.
"Good. Now Ruby here is what we call a Dullahan." Coco gestured towards the struggling body as it kept running into the kitchen counter. "As you can see they have removable heads that can talk and can be mobile without having the head on their bodies. Though they have a weak connection to their necks, so the head will sometimes fall off the body with enough strength put forward." They both hear the head trying to instruct the body where its at, but the body awkwardly kept missing where her head was, making both Jaune and Coco sweatdrop from the reaper's clumsy body.
"Is she gonna be ok?" Jaune asked as he noticed the body was struggling to grab her head.
"NO! This way you dummy!" The head said, which the body only turned around with its hands crossing her body, in Jaune's opinion it looked like the body was sulking as it stopped trying to get the talking appendage. "Come on you know I didn't mean it! Please just grab me or something we are suppose to make a good impression on our host." The head whined towards her partner in crime, but the body continued to sulk as if the head just hurt her feelings which made the head huff out in frustration.
"They'll be fine. Dullahan's are special because the body and head will have different personalities when they are removed. Seems little Ruby's body is a bit of a klutzy mess, while the head is a proud excitable girl." Coco explained to Jaune, she already knew this about the reaper girl as she's been trying to find a good homestay host for a bit.
"What they also don't tell you is that once the head and body separate from each other, they become an accident duo that break stuff."
'CRASH'
Both the humans winced as they heard the shattering of a glass plate on the counter.
"Hehe... sorry." The head apologized, while the body rubbed its foot back and forth in embarrassing fashion.
"That... sounds like a bit of a handful..." He noticed that the body finally got the head back onto her shoulders, spinning the head to make sure she's on the right direction. With a sheepish chuckle the reaper girl went back towards her chair to sit, making sure she doesn't break anything else.
The blonde male only sighed in defeat, going towards the supply closet and getting a broom and dustpan to clean up the broken mess.
"I really hope this won't be a constant." Jaune thought.
"You don't know the half of it... But trust me, Ruby's a good girl. She will be on her best behavior when she's here." The agent went to got the coffee machine once more. "Mind if I get a coffee refill hun?" Coco asked, shaking her empty mug.
"Sure. Its not really my machine so have at it." Jaune chuckled out as he swept up the broken plate shards. Once he
"Thank you honey." The agent gave the teen a saucy winked at the blond for his hospitality, making the blond's cheeks dust red from the flirt. She set her preferred flavor of caramel latte and placed the mug underneath the machine. "As I was saying, the Dullahan species not only have a unique relationship with their body, but there is truth to Ruby's introduction. They guide souls to the afterlife. So don't be surprised if she shows up randomly from teleporting. She could be leading souls to their resting place." Coco told the blonde.
"Seriously?" Jaune questioned. Coco only snapped her fingers towards the reaper girl. In which she only nodded and with a flash of blood red rose petals, she disappeared without a trace.
"Whoa... Where'd she go?" Jaune said.
"Right here!" The cheerful voice of the reaper girl coming from behind him.
"AH!" The teen let out a cry of shock when he saw the reaper of souls right behind him for some reason. "What... How... How'd you do that!?"
The silver eyed monster girl smiled at his curiosity, but Coco answered his question. "Its the special bond they have with the world of the living and the spirit world." She picked up the steaming cup of coffee after she heard it finish. "Funny enough, the reason why she came back so fast is because the connection that you and her make."
"What? We just met, so why would her connection to me be so strong?" Jaune was definitely was confused about that, which only made the black haired girl chuckle nervously and Coco having a confused look on her face as well.
"I'm actually not to certain myself there honey." Coco shrugged, which only left the blond teen flabbergasted. She didn't know about her own monster girls?
"In all honesty Jaune, Ruby is one of the first Dullahan's I have worked with as an agent. Most of their history and tellings are very rare to come by and are very strict on sending heralds to the land of Remnant." The agent adjusted her glasses getting serious once more. "This will probably the only time either of us would interact with this certain type of Liminal. This is actually a rare opportunity for both of us Jauney boy." Coco explained with a smile.
"Yeah that's right! I am special!" She raised her fist in the air in excitement.
"Yes you are little rose." Coco said with an amused expression on her face, which was contagious as Jaune also smiled at the two ladies.
"So... did that answer your questions about what Little Red is and what you'll be dealing with here?" the mocha haired agent asked.
"Yes, however I do have a question about all of this as its been eating away at me since you got here." Jaune retorted.
"And what does that question entail Arc?" Coco said as she started sipping her latte, enjoying the taste of her third cup.
"Why me? I know I filled out the contract multiple times and all." Which only made the agent wince slightly from that comment. She knew that a bomb was going to drop when she broke the news about that one. "But why choose me for this homestay project? I feel like there would be thousands of other candidates that would be perfect for this process."
"Yet you not only chose me for this. You set me up with an apartment complex just for my living arrangement in the most expensive part of Vale, in which I would never be able to afford normally with my current job. So why choose little old me for this position?" Jaune finished, which caused the agent to raise her eyebrows at this question, sighing out as she remembers what her superior told her about Jaune's special case.
"Did you remember what you were doing when you did the sign up for the program?" The business suit woman said.
The blond was only questioned really when he and Ren got to the government building. "I remember the Bureau Of Vale sending someone to ask certain questions and made me sign certain documents in return." After that happened everything felt like a blur to him when he was there. Jaune remembered here and there that certain suits were giving him random questions for him to answers. Like would you care if someone was completely different compared to you? How would react to those people? All in all the mountain of questions ended after an hour.
However Jaune honestly didn't really care about these differences, people were people no matter how you slice it. Regardless of the different looks in his opinion. He was always reminded that you should always treat them with respect no matter what.
'Don't judge off the first shake, that's what dad always said." Jaune thought.
"Well that was our question test honey. It gave us an idea on how you would feel on taking care or showing a foreigner around the city with a certain questionnaire." Agent Adel clasped her hands together.
"Wait. That's all I had to do to become part of this government program?!" Which only got the agent to laugh at that reaction.
After Coco's laughing fit she had a playful look on her face, "Hell no, the question part is only the initial stage of the process for qualification."
"So... what were the other qualifiers?" Jaune asked.
"Well... we couldn't just give permission to everyone that we had for the program, there'd be too many applicants that'd have signed up for this program. So... we had to do some background checks for everybody: family history, verification of people in Vale for any kind of crimes, evaluation of their temper, the whole nine yards for this project to make sure that these girls would be safe with their homestay and vise versa for the host." Coco explained.
"Are there really that many people looking to do something like this?" Jaune questioned.
"Trust me Jauney boy. There are a ton of scumbags out there that would try and take advantage of these girls. Whether it be trafficking, sexual assault, or even just trying to hurt these girls." The agent spat out in disgust. Making the blond scowl from her comment, what kind of assholes would do such a thing to these foreigners?
"Ok, I guess I can understand why you'd do background checks, but do you really think I'd be capable of doing that? Also what do you mean safe for the host, is something wrong with certain Liminals?" Jaune looked at the agent and a serious look on her face was put on as she took off her sunglasses.
"Mr. Arc." Mocha colored eyes staring holes into sapphire blue. "Sufficient to say, I take all threats seriously when it comes to anyone trying to take advantage to these girls. It doesn't matter if its the White Fang extremist group or common thug in an alleyway, if any Liminal is being harassed or being used by humans in any heinous way. I will find out about it and that individual will face the full extent of the Remnant government. Where scum like them will never see the light of day again." She got into the teens personal space and scaring the shit out of him that the lady was going to slug him or something as she got close.
He closed his eyes in preparation, but the hit never came. Instead he felt the soft hand of the agent caressing his cheek. He turned back around to look at the lady only to find her eyes took on a more sensual look and her body touching his.
"But I've read your file Jauney." Coco said with a breathy tone to it, making the blonde very uncomfortable as a very attractive woman was in his personal space. "You're trying to make it on your own, you've been there for seven sisters whether they were older or younger. Seems like a very loving family considering what you said during your questioning." Coco said as she rubbed circles on his chest.
"W-Well yeah, b-but I-I wanted t-to live on my o-own in V-Vale you know. Gotta leave the nest sometime." His face was cherry read from the woman's contact with him, he was definitely not familiar with the opposite sex. Especially someone as attractive as Agent Adel.
"~Oh such a responsible man. Are you sure you can remain that way big boy?~" Coco said with a seductive tone as she looked towards the slightly blushing Ruby's face from the interaction. "Just look at what Ruby is wearing and tell me what you'd do to her, it makes you want to rip her clothes off and have your way with her right?" The words the woman was planting in his mind wasn't helping in the slightest.
He didn't want to imagine doing that to Ruby at all! She looked young and he never wanted to do that to someone unwilling at all. Much less a little girl like her!
But the more... perverted part of him could see what the agent meant.
The girl in question had a mixture of a cute and sexy factor. An exotic goth look with features he's never seen before: her hypnotic dark sclera eyes with a shining silver look to them, healthy legs and thighs with some black stockings to hold them but has tears in some of the areas to show her pale skin, a chest area that may look like a C-cup at best but not too extreme. All while rocking the the Little Red Riding Hood act with her all red attire, looking cute as a button but attractive to the opposite sex all the same.
But Jaune had to resist. As much as he'd want to say those things and do those things with Ruby, and trust me he really does. His fortitude and pride ruled out as he remembered why Ruby was here in this homestay program in the first place.
She wanted to experience Remnant's culture, learn about things she hasn't before in the country of Vale. How could he be called a 'good caretaker' if he was trying to come onto her in her moments of curiosity?
"No. It's not right." His mind said, as much as he wanted to have those feelings towards an attractive female like Ruby, he'd have to decline for now.
"S-Sorry... But I think that wouldn't be appropriate to comment on Ms. Adel. While Ruby is beautiful, I don't think talking about her like that very polite." The blonde teen turned away from the agent, spotting a huge blushing face. However Coco's face lost its lustful look and took on a more soft and compassionate smile as she saw Jaune prove her point, despite him not understanding at first.
"Now see? This is why I chose you. You're perfect for the role of homestay." Coco said softly.
"Huh?" Jaune was just confused at this motion.
"This is the hardest part of the test Jaune, giving into temptation for you homestays. You passed with flying colors because you kept your desires in check." Coco stated with soft smile. "I know you will be the perfect host for anyone."
Jaune only sighed out in defeat at that, he was put on the spot but could understand his agent's plight and honestly he didn't mind trying to help out in anyway he could with this project.
However her visage became serious once again, brown eyes staring down Jaune seriously. " But don't think your off the hook yet blondie. Most people fail this part of the process because of their own selfish desires. It's key that you try and keep your relationship to your Liminal strictly platonic at this point. Any kind of deviation and... well you wouldn't like me at all if it comes to that Arc." The agent warned.
"Ok... Is there something wrong with pursuing a relationship with a Monster Girl?" The blond asked.
However Coco just gave him a frown from that question. "There is a certain issue we face currently with this question. The bill specifies that romantic involvement with both parties of homestay and guest are allowed in terms of a relationship. But..." Coco's face took on a bit of a worried expression.
"But?" Jaune parroted.
"The Culture Exchange Between Species Bill states under the Interspecies Protection Act, that any sexual or passionate acts that you try to have with a Liminal of any species is prohibited." Coco finished.
"So what your telling me is that if I wanted a romantic relationship with Ruby I could have, but if I was caught with Ruby having... sexual relations." Ruby's face now took on the girl's namesake color with a red face finally showing up on her pale cheeks after Jaune said that.
"Then serious consequences will be enforced. Which would either have yourself arrested and or have you and Ruby deported from Vale permanently." Coco explained
"That seems very restricting to both parties!" Jaune exclaimed. It also seemed very unfair in that shake if the two lovers of different species wanted to try and take further steps in the relationship.
"Trust me I understand that sentiment." The brown coated agent said. "But it's for everyone's good right now. This bill is still a little fresh from being created by both parties and a ton of rules and regulations need to be followed currently. Otherwise we break our part of the deal with the Liminals and cause an international incident."
"So that's it then? If someone happens to fall in love with one of these wonderful girls then they can never express it in any kind of way? The law is just going to forbid their love?!" Jaune didn't really like the sound of that. It seemed very restricting if that's the case. Having to never be intimate with the one you love is torture for both parties.
"Now hold on, I never said that this law was permanent." Coco held her hand up to stop him, "It's not the end of the world yet, so you can relax. Currently the Liminal council and the HDA are in talks about opening up marriage proposal candidates if this program escalate to that point." It was still in the planning stages, but if this homestay program works as intended, then they can start talks on interspecies marriages and relationships coming full bloom with both Humans and Liminals.
Jaune only let off a huff from that, at least they were working on the project. "I'm sorry if I got a little passionate about that. It just seemed a little cruel if that was the fate of interspecies coupling." The teen rubbed his head in embarrassment from his little outburst.
"Oh it's fine honey. On the contrary, it is quite fortunate to find someone as you to care so much about the well-being of these girls." Coco smiled out from his response, "It's also the reason you are going to be the perfect candidate for the multiple girls your gonna have under your room pretty soon." The agent thought in both excitement and sorrow for the poor lad. Coco had a feeling that Jaune would flip out that he'd have to take care of not one, not two, but seven different Liminal girls because of the signing contract he put his signature on.
But he could learn about that little detail later, for now she needed to get to explaining other protocol with the blond before she had to get back to her office and meet with another homestay candidate. She knew her other Liminal girl was waiting and she knew from experience how hyper she could be...
She just hopes THAT little ball of energy could wait.
"Now then, unfortunately as much as I would love to discuss all day about these topics. We're going to have to rush through the rest of this talk for now about certain rules and regulations, is that alright with you?" Coco told the blonde.
"Oh shoot, Is something wrong? Did I mess up already?"
"No its nothing that you did Mr. Arc." Coco reassured him, "As much as I would love to talk with you all day honey, I have to get to another meeting with a different host and another Liminal. Of course I'll probably show up fashionably late, but you know how stylish one can be." Her sunglasses shining in the light as she adjusted them to her face once more, taking off her beret to comb through her hair a little, a smug grin plastered on her face.
"Isn't being late a bad habit she shouldn't have." Jaune thought looked at her with a deadpanned expression.
With a clap of her hands, she opened up her coat to pull out a...stack papers out of nowhere. "Regardless I have all the talking points and instructions that you need to follow in this paperwork right here."
"Where the hell she hiding... you know what, I'm not gonna question it." The blonde killed his thought process as she set the paperwork down on the table.
"These will be some of the guidelines and rules you'll have to follow when part of the Culture Exchange Program. While we did talk about certain laws and regulations for a bit and went over some of our history about the Liminals. These will be more about what those laws you need to follow as a homestay, and also what to expect when certain things happen when you have a homestay with you." The agent explained.
"I suggest you read this thoroughly as it could save yourself a ton of hassle when dealing with certain situations with multiple Liminal homestays." Coco said, before she widened her eyes and clapped a hand on her mouth before the young man caught what she said.
Jaune heard the slip up and looked at her with a puzzled expression. "Why would be dealing with more? I only signed up for one homestay on the paperwork." The blonde asked.
"Haha... yeah just one. Nothing to worry about here, not like there's going to be more girls living here. You were just hearing things." She said a bit with a nervous laugh.
But Jaune just continued to look at her funny, still feeling skeptical about this whole situation and not trusting her fully. "You're sure about what you said?" Blue eyes narrowed at the agent.
"I'm as sure I can be stud." Coco said, a awkward silence followed the three people at the table from the situation before Coco coughed in her hand to regain her composure.
"Either way, all of these documents that I am giving to you will explain a lot of your questions about Liminals in general and how they act at certain times. Obviously each Liminal is different so you'll have to figure them out every time you meet a new one... if it comes to that of course." She tacked on, trying to keep this on the downlow before the teen figures it out.
However before she could talk more about the paperwork the agent's scroll rang, realizing who that most likely was Coco went towards the front door. "Would you excuse me you two, I have take this call real quick." She quickly opened the door and went out for some privacy, leaving the blond host and reaper girl alone with each other.
Neither of the two said a word to each other when Agent Adel left, setting an awkward silence for the big apartment building. However while both parties were quiet externally, their thoughts were a whole different story.
For Jaune this whole revelation has been just a whirlwind of emotions from being scared out of his mind by the Dullahan girl to outright confusion of taking care of Ruby and learning from Agent Coco until his head finally comprehended what he's been told and came to stunning, yet simple conclusion.
Monster girls are real and are out in the world of Remnant! There was a real life monster girl in his apartment right now!
This wasn't fake or prank, and it wasn't a dream. These 'Liminals' as they call themselves were real, he thought they were just some kind of pipe dream that would be in some kind of perverse Mistralian comic or graphic novel for the perverts of the world. But yet here Ruby was, in the flesh.
Though if the blond had to look her, he wouldn't think that this teenage girl would be a monster girl if he looked at her properly. If not for the horrifying notion of her losing her head, he would of thought Ruby would be just another cute teenage girl. However when he looked at her closely, the signs start to show that themselves with the dark sclera, her beautiful pale skin, and exotic silver eyes. Features that wouldn't really be on a normal person.
Plus... the terrifying scythe that she carries around her person is definitely not normal.
But this girl is going to live with him, he is obligated to show her around the city of Vale to show the culture of Remnant, and make a good impression. How could Jaune not feel nervous about that tall order?
However he wasn't the only one that was nervous here.
Ruby the Dullahan was feeling tense about Jaune right now.
Usually she trusted her gut on situations, but she couldn't help but feel that pit of doubt in her stomach. She really wanted to impress Jaune to the point that he'd be her homestay, Ruby really didn't want to find another at this moment.
Her first impression of the blond teen was a good one as he was positive to have her here in his home.
Then when he figured out what she was, the reaper girl felt that tick of fright that Jaune wouldn't be as accepting when he came to from his faint spell.
But other than the scare that she gave him from her introduction (Ruby: 'I'm just that awesome').
Jaune... has been pretty calm about this monster girl reveal.
Which was definitely a good sign compared to Ruby's other homestays experiences.
The blond would now be the third candidate for her at this point, the last two homestays she has been with didn't really end well for her when it came to the Homestay program.
The first one was a young family couple with a son and daughter.
Everything was going fine at first glance. Sure the family was a little strange here and there for her, but nothing nefarious.
However a line was drawn when it came down to her other... feature that she lugged around.
The family was concerned about her scythe that she lugged around with her, the short time that she was with the family the mother and father expressed their worry when they saw the hulking blade with it.
Especially when Ruby was near their children.
They expressed their concerns with Agent Coco that if Ruby couldn't get rid of her weapon, then they couldn't risk having her around. Especially when their children could be at risk with hurting themselves or worse...
So with that her first family didn't work. Ruby couldn't help it! Her baby by her side makes her feel comfortable. Its what identifies her as a Dullahan, she couldn't just get rid of Crescent Rose!
Unacceptable. She couldn't allow that to happen. No matter how nice the family was.
The second person however was totally not her fault.
The person taking care of her was a 25 year old man that looked... shady in her opinion. Man usually wore a black Bowler Hat and with sunglasses all the time and was very standoff-ish.
She didn't really like the vibes of the guy and the short time she stayed there was not really pleasant.
But she soon found out why.
Apparently the HDA weren't very thorough with the screening of this man, as Ruby was soon moved out of his house because of certain criminal investigation. This person was seen working with an underground crime group in the shady side of Vale. The house was investigated and the man was arrested for a warrant of trafficking drugs and other felonies they found on his record.
Ruby heard when Agent Adel found out about that she was livid and tore the screening employee at the office a new asshole before terminating his employment for that almost horrible mistake. She'd never seen the agent woman so upset.
Well... prior to what happened a few minutes ago when she scared Jaune.
Which leads her to today. For some reason Jaune just makes her feel different. He has this warm aura for a human, and it seems that he has a very flexible attitude when she greeted him.
For some reason Ruby has a good feeling about this one, this big apartment, this goofy guy, and all of this warmth he gives off seems like a winner for someone of her undead making.
Before the reaper girl said something to her host about her pervious situations. The silence was finally broken by the blond saying some words to her.
"Ruby."
"Yes Jaune?"
"I... I just want you to know that even if I'm out my element here. Even if I didn't know that signed up for all of... this." The teen gestured his hands towards her making her frightened.
Was he going to decline having her stay here? Is it going to be too much?
She was going to cry. Not even a couple hours in and she already drove him aw-
"I still want you to stay here as my homestay." Ruby's eyes widened in shock, looking towards the blond blue eyed teen.
"Really?" Hope was in her tone, she felt herself getting a bit emotional.
She didn't discourage him? After all of the bizarre and crazy stuff he seen, he still wants her here?!
"Really." Jaune said with a smile on his face. "All of this monster girl stuff is still...a bit much for me to comprehend." The blond nervously chuckled, before he closed his eyes and took a deep breath. A look of determination on his face as she saw a smoldering fire in his sapphire colored eyes, which shocked her even more.
"But I just want you to know that I'm gonna show you all what Vale has to offer. To give you the time of your life when you're with me!" Jaune said with passion.
"You'd... do that for me?" Ruby's voice sounded soft and vulnerable at this moment, which only made the blond reassure himself on this.
Hell yeah! Trust me Ruby, you'll be getting the human entertainment tour Jaune Arc style. I'll dazzle you with all we have to offer that you'll be begging for more! Because I'm an Arc and we never go back on our word." The teen saw the reaper girl's eyes light up like a Christmas tree and a smile couldn't be avoided on her face from his declaration as tears started falling down her face.
She speed walked towards him and gave him a big old hug as her body started shaking.
"Thank you..." As she squeezed her caretaker with as much love and affection she could muster.
No... she had a feeling that caretaker wasn't the right word for as caring and warm as Jaune. Her heart started to beat fast for the man in question and gave her the hope and comfort she would finally get.
"Thank you... my soulmate." Her inner thoughts declared.
"Whoa! Ruby is everything ok? Why are you crying?! Oh jeez, did I do something wrong?" That panicked questioning made the reaper girl only laugh as it brought the emotional moment for her to a comedic halt.
"Sorry. I'm just so happy that I finally have a place to call home." Ruby wanted to just leave it at that for now, she'll tell the blond about her situation when she's well and ready.
Besides, she has to keep up her scary reaper shtick, and she can't have that without her trusted baby.
Their hug continued until the door opened to see Agent Coco come back into the apartment.
"Sorry about that you two, just needed to answer that important business..." She trailed off to see the two hugging each other, in their own little world at the moment. Coco couldn't help the teasing smirk that appeared on her face. "~Ara ara, looks like came in at a bad time. Guess you two are getting more acquainted than I thought you were." Blue and silver eyes widened towards the agent and both Ruby and Jaune removed themselves from each other like they were on fire, with blushes all around their faces.
"Wait you got it all wrong!"
"This is a misunderstanding!"
"It wasn't like that! He was just comforting me!"
"I-I wasn't trying to take advantage of her, I swear!"
The denials and blushing faces only got a big chuckle from the brown suited agent, loving this comedic awkward duo.
It was cute in her opinion...
"Relax you two, I'm only playing with you on this." Coco explained. "Now that was the department trying to hurry me along to the next homestay candidate, so I'm afraid I will have to take my stylish self down to the next Liminal and introduce them to their host." She said as she walked towards the blond teen.
"I'll keep in contact with you with your scroll. In case you have any questions dealing with any Liminal issues or some of the rules, just call me at anytime Arc and I'll try to get back to you about that information." Coco explained before walking towards Ruby to give her a hug.
"I'll see you later Ruby." Coco said softly to the Dullahan girl, "Jaune's gonna be your caretaker now. Remember to be on your best behavior when your here alright little rose. Don't give Mr. Arc here too much hassle alright?" Coco knows that Ruby wasn't that much of a troublemaker compared to other Liminal girls, but she can get into situations that get herself and others in trouble.
"You got it Ms. Coco! I promise to stay out of trouble." The Dullahan replied with a sloppy salute.
"Good girl." The agent went towards the door to leave, but before she brought her sunglasses down to take one last look at Jaune. "Well, it's time to take my leave you two. I'll leave you two to it to unpack and get to know each other better. See you around honey, I will talk to you later about... future improvements of the building ok? Ciao!" The brown haired woman gave the blond a saucy wink, swaying her hips before leaving the apartment.
When Coco was going down the stairs and towards her government vehicle her thoughts went to Jaune and a shiver went down her spine as the thought of what her boss told her.
"Good luck Arc... You're gonna need it in the next coming days for what's in store for you..." The agent thought. She was still focusing on her scroll that had information not only for the next homestay, but the next couple of Liminal girls that Jaune would have to deal with in the coming days...
She saw some of the name's for the girls he'd look after. Some familiar and others not so much. The 'Schnee' and 'Nikos' name were definitely familiar to her as they are considered royals of their respected kinds. They were definitely going to be a challenge if the Arc teen was going to be their caretakers.
The agent just hopes he can keep up with Ruby at least before having those two come into play.
But before that could be figured out she also needed to look into another Liminal investigation, from what she skimmed it involves two culprits of monster girls with some shifty business.
Coco would have to put that on the backburner for now, the M.O.N team wasn't fully developed just yet as their newest member just got on the force. Some Doppelganger Liminal with multicolored hair. She seemed a bit on the cheeky side from what Captains Velvet and Penny told her, but her skills remained to be seen.
The door was closed for Jaune and Ruby, signaling the agent's departure, so with that the two just looked at each other in confusion.
Before Jaune just broke it like he did pervious times, "Well you heard her, let's find you a room to stay in." Jaune was about to go towards one of the open rooms before he stopped and turned towards her again. "Wait I didn't see any of your bags, did you leave them in her car or something?" Jaune questioned.
"Oh! No I... didn't really have anything to bring with me to your apartment." Ruby pushed two fingers together in embarrassment." I only have my baby Crescent Rose with me and the clothes on my back." Ruby chuckled out.
"Well... that just won't cut it." Jaune declared, "Once we get you settled in for today, tomorrow we are gonna go clothes shopping for you Ruby." The reaper girl was feeling a little nervous and bit self conscious.
"You really don't have to do that." The reaper girl denied.
"No no Ruby. I insist we do this." the blond responded back. "Think of it this way, it'll be a chance for us to explore Vale together, see the sights and maybe some other things you might like out in the city if we go and have a look." The Dullahan girl couldn't argue with that logic, as much as she doesn't want to go clothes shopping, perhaps something else might interest her when they go and have a look.
With sigh of defeat she nods her head. "Ok, that's fine. But only if we go to somewhere that peaks my interest, Deal?" She reached her hand out for a shake.
Which Jaune returned in kind with a warm smile on his face, "You got yourself a deal Ruby." Shaking her hand in agreement and putting a smile on her face.
"Now, let's find you that room." Jaune went down the long hallway to check out the room for the girl. "Once we are done with that, I'll whip up some food for us and some dessert. I've been known to be a mean baker of cookies." The blond teen continued as went to open one of the doors to the many rooms.
However the reaper girl had feeling that she wouldn't care what room she claimed.
Because at this point, this place was already starting to become a home for her.
All thanks to a certain blond someone.
ANNND SCENE!
Wow, I apologize for the lack of updates everyone, its just I've been writing for a bit on Book Of Mudora and a spicy one-shot that I've been cooking up so I haven't gotten to this chapter in a bit.
Sorry for the long wait, I've still got my passionate writer's mentality, just work has been a bit of a bitch for me and stalled my updates and upload schedule as well.
I can't promise really fast updates, but I will continue updating as much as I can. In fact, it kind of helps me not experience total burnout from my stories.
Anyways! I know this chapter wasn't too much of an update, however I just wanted Jaune to be aware of the what he was getting into in this story.
Give him some kind of context of the Monster Musume rules, but obviously leave off the part where he's getting more than one homestay.
You know... for the funny reaction later.
I hope you don't mind the I'm portraying Coco here, I kind of wanted her to be a flirty Ms. Smith character with a sassy bite. I know she probably wouldn't flirt with Jaune on the get go, but I like mixing it up a bit with characters and I love flirty Coco anyways so...
Sorry if you feel differently about her changes.
And Ruby is a little goofy here, but I couldn't help her being a excited 'scary' grim reaper girl trying to scare people, but fails at it because she's too cute. With a clumsy bratty personality for her body compared to her childish mindset.
Also yes. Everyone of Jaune's homestays and girls that interact with him are going to have different pet names for him that I will come up with.
As you can see, Ruby's is Soulmate and Coco's is Honey.
Don't worry, the other girls will come soon. I just wanted to establish Ruby first since she's gonna get a 'date' or a outing with blonde boy, and then we'll meet our next girl at the end of that chapter, that I can guarantee.
As for suggestions for the girls. I'm sorry to be that guy, but I already know what Liminals I want to use in this story for each RWBY girl that will be staying with Jaune, I hope I don't disappoint you for what they are. But I think you'll enjoy the choices.
And if not then I am sorry, but at the end its my rules so...
With that the next couple of updates will be the saucy one shot that I'm making for my favorite RWBY couple and another chapter of Arcful Romance, so Book of Mudora is gonna sit on the backburner for a little while.
But don't worry, once the one shot and next chapter of AR are done, Book Of Mudora will be posted soon, just be a little patient with me.
So with that said, that's another chapter in the books for this story. If you have any comments, or any suggestions just DM me or comment on the story and I will get to it as soon as I can.
This is Irongiant9000 and I'll catch you all on the flip side.
Next Chapter: Chapter 3: Dullahan Date
