Unaware of what has happened, Alan, Ellie and Maisie hurried through the hall to station three after they disposed the coveralls.
"Three." Ellie said.
"This way." Alan said as they got to the hyperloop.
"Alan, we need the code." Ellie said as Maisie got to the keypad.
"Let's try this thing." Alan said bringing out the access band and got the keypad. "Yeah."
Then an electronic chime was heard close by as they looked back and Ellie gasped and a door opens.
"Get down." Ellie said as Maisie ducked down behind some crates.
Ellie pants closing her wallet hiding the sample, and just as Ramsay appeared as Ellie sighed and Alan chuckled.
"Thank God it's you!" Ellie said relieved chuckling acting casual.
"I know." Alan said following along stammering.
"This place is such a maze." Ellie said.
"Good you're here." Alan said.
"We were so confused." Ellie said. "I thought we were straight-up lost. Then you said station three." Ramsay looked back for a moment. "And I was like, here..."
"Do you have the sample?" Ramsay suddenly asked urgently.
Alan and Ellie were then confusingly baffled.
"What?" Ellie frowned.
"What are you talking about?" Alan asked equally confused.
"The DNA sample." Ramsay responded. "Do you have it? Biosyn's responsible for the locust epidemic. Dodgson's covering it up as well as Zach Varmitech who's hiding here."
Alan and Ellie were stunned as Maisie listened as well.
"You were right." Ramsay said. "I'm-I'm here to help you. Do you have it?"
"Uh..." Alan said still stunned.
"Yeah." Ellie said softly and nodded.
"Good." Ramsay said and hurries to the dashboard as Ellie closed her wallet. "This pod will take you straight to the airfield. We have a plane ready to fly."
"Ian told you about Hexapod Allies?" Ellie said.
"No." Ramsay said. "I told him."
The pod's door then opens.
"What?" Ellie frowned as Ramsay got to the hyperloop.
"Okay. You guys gotta go." Ramsay said ushering.
"Wait." Alan said.
He and Ramsay then turn to the crates as Maisie peeks out.
"Maisie." Alan said and sighed.
Maisie then stood up.
"Maisie Lockwood." Ramsay said in surprise.
Maisie then heads in the hyperloop.
"Go." Ramsay said as Alan and Ellie hurried inside.
He then works the dashboard as an electronic chimed and the door closed, and Ramsay watches as the pod take off and he heads off to try to buy them some time.
Claire gasped waking up and blinked a few times and looked around as birds were chirping and animals were heard chittering and squawking.
She also saw she was still strapped to the ejection seat as the chute was caught on some branches, and was luckily not hurt. Claire then looked down as she was 20 feet off the ground as she groaned. She then reaches the straps to work herself, but she then saw a deer nearby wandering by grazing.
Claire then got back to trying to free herself grunting softly knowing there are other, bigger animals out there to worry about. Then a faint growl was heard as she grunt, and a growling and loud chittering was heard as Claire gasped looking back. And a clicking and rapid thumping was heard as then a snout appeared behind her as it sniffed and purred as Claire turns and saw the head of a large feathered dinosaur as it chittered, and it's right eye was gray.
The dinosaur then lightly squawked as it's small head was attached to a long neck, large pot-belly, arms that were nearly eight feet long with three 30-inched claws on each hand, and had a coat of small red feathers. It was one of the most bizarre dinosaurs to have ever lived, Therizinosaurus.
And it is huge, 20 feet tall, 30 feet long, and weighing five tons. This dinosaur was discovered in Mongolia in the 1950s, it's claws were at first thought to be ribs of a giant turtle, but were soon found attached to arms. The claws of Therizinosaurus are the longest of any creature that has ever existed, and it's name means Scythe Lizard.
At first, people thought Therizinosaurus was a predator and used it's sharp dagger-like claws for hunting and stabbing it's victims to death. But eventually they realized it was a plant-eater, and the claws were mainly used to pull down branches, but they can be used in self-defense as Therizinosaurus lived alongside with Asia's version of Tyrannosaurus Rex, Tarbosaurus.
Surprisingly, the closest relatives of Therizinosaurs were the Tyrannosaurs. But the Therizinosaurs evolved a plant-eating diet, nobody knows for sure why, but Therizinosaurus and it's other cousins still carried the serrations in their teeth from their predatory past.
Claire kept dead still and quiet as the Therizinosaur doesn't seem to notice her as it continues growling. As this particular individual is actually blind in it's right eye, and she's luckily not on this giant's menu.
But still, an oddball can be dangerous.
The Therizinosaurus walks by as it chitters, and the chittering echoes as it lumbers near the grazing deer as it lifts it's head and turns to it. And then the Therizinosaur rises it's right hand and suddenly swiftly swats the deer away with it's claws in a single swap and roars.
Seeing that the dinosaur was far from harmless, Claire begins to works her straps as the Therizinosaurus starts feeding on some berries and ferns.
Claire grunts lightly and then finally unbuckles herself and then falls out of the seat and hits the ground with a thud with a groan as the Therizinosaur perked up alerted.
Claire quickly recovers lifting her head up, and the Therizinosaurus continues roaring as she starts crawling away. And she looked back as the Therizinosaur looks around chittering as it was alarmed, it now knows something is close, but it doesn't know exactly where she is. The dinosaur's clicking continues as it's chittering echoes out as Claire crawls off.
The Therizinosaurus lightly chitters a growls as it heard leaves rustling from Claire's crawling and soon turns towards and spots her crawling to a shallow pond. It's chittering continues as Claire reaches the shore of the pond as the Therizinosaur stalks towards her like it's predatory hunting instinct still remains within as Claire glanced back seeing it. She crawls further out into the water as the Therizinosaurus stood on the pond's edge as Claire was up to her chin in water and soon reaches a deep-enough spot and went under.
The Therizinosaurus lowers it's head down softly chittering as it scans the water just over the surface. And then it lets out a loud roar at the water just over Claire causing the surface water to ripple.
After staring at the water for a moment, the Therizinosaur lifts it's head and soon turns away and heads off as Claire lifts her head out watching the dinosaur leaving. She tremblingly breathes in relief and then crawls to the pond's edge.
Claire pants as she peeks over a log and then saw billowing smoke as the dam and nearby distant mountain at the end of the valley. And was fearing the worse for them.
At the dam, black smoke rose from the wrecked Fairchild C-119, half-submerged in the frozen lake. And broken pieces of ice floated from when the plane hit the ice, and it sinks a bit as it's right tail snaps off from the elevators. And then a hatch on the roof popped off and lands on the ice as Owen climbs out, and helps Kayla out as the Wild Kratts soon followed. And they soon climbed down and slid on the ice a bit.
"Okay." Kayla panted.
They then turn to the plane as it was beyond salvageable.
"That was my baby." Kayla said softly.
They soon walking carefully across the ice trying to get to the shore as the ice was cracking with each they take.
"Okay, okay." Kayla said softly.
"Where'd you learn to fly?" Owen asked trying to keep things ordinary and relaxed.
"Uh, Air Force." Kayla said. "Legacy on my mama's side."
"No kidding." Martin said. "Owen was military as well before joining Jurassic World."
"Yeah. I'm Navy." Owen said. "Okay, so how'd you end up doing this?"
"I was a legit contract pilot grip, but it didn't exactly pay enough to be out here sending money home." Kayla explained. "So I hit up a few contacts for the more lucrative shady shit." She then briefly slipped as the ice crunched. "Honestly, I might be done with this line of work."
"Good choice." Chris said. "Poaching and black dealership is not a good thing to do."
"Is that why you're helping us?" Owen asked.
The ice lightly crackled as Kayla was hesitantly silent.
"I was there when they handed your girl off to Biosyn." Kayla admitted. "I could've said something, but I didn't. And when I saw her picture... It isn't enough to do nothing."
Then suddenly the ice under her left foot broke through the ice as Owen quickly caught her as she gasped.
"Thank you." Owen said meaning it.
Kayla then nodded.
Then a squawking roar was heard nearby as Kayla turns as they looked around knowing they weren't alone on this frozen lake. And then the head of a dinosaur covered in crimson red feathers was seen poking from behind some rocks as it steps out and spots them and snarled.
Owen brought out his knife as Kayla brought out her taser stick as it crackled.
"Is that a Pyroraptor?" Chris wondered realizing what species it was.
Blue and Amber's European cousin, it was discovered in 2000 as it's fossil remains had charred carbonization. Indicating the animal had died in a forest fire, and scientists decided to call it Pyroraptor Olympius: the Fire Thief. Around eight feet long, Pyroraptor was just as swift and cunning as it's famous relative.
The Pyroraptor snarls a screech and growls a grumble as it stalks towards the group. The Raptor chittered as Chris and Martin glanced around trying to spot any others, but this one looks to be a loner.
The Pyroraptor screeches a roar as it comes closer as they group held their ground. And though outnumbered, the Raptor was discouraged as it roared and takes a step closer as it's right foot lands on the ice as it cracks underneath.
Then part of the C-119's right tail snapped more as they turn to it, and then the ice between them broke apart as they all stepped back.
They turn back to the Pyroraptor as an icy rumble was occurred, and then suddenly the Raptor dives through a gap in the crack into the water as they looked down. And watched as the Pyroraptor swims directly underneath circling.
"No." Kayla said horrified.
"Pyroraptor can swim like a penguin?!" Martin said shocked.
"A killer penguin!" Jimmy cried terrified.
The Pyroraptor swims under them circling as the ice cracked.
"Nope." Kayla said turning as they quickly ran.
They quickly made a run for the dam as the Pyroraptor under the ice swims after them. And then they leaped over a small ridge of ice, but Owen and Martin fell through and into the water as the Pyroraptor loops around by them as they turn to it.
"Hmm?" Martin gurgled.
The Pyroraptor then turns towards them.
Then Martin let out a gurgling scream as they quickly swam up as the Pyroraptor squawks and roars charging towards them with the speed of a Leopard Seal. Kayla and Chris quickly pull them out from the Raptor's reach as she grunts and Owen gasped as they backed away from the hole.
"My heart was in my mouth!" Martin cried.
They then sat up as there was no sign of the Raptor.
"What an asshole." Owen uttered.
"Where is he?" Aviva asked.
"I don't know." Chris said.
"You don't know?" Jimmy said nervously.
Then suddenly the Pyroraptor erupts out of the water through the hole letting out a shrieking roar as they quickly got up as Jimmy screamed as they to the dam's walkway. Kayla hurries up a ladder as Owen looked back as the Pyroraptor shakes the water off it's feathered coat hissing and roars at them.
They quickly climbed up onto the walkway and ran as the Pyroraptor lunges snapping it's jaws just missing Owen's feet.
They ran across the walkway as the Raptor climbs up and Kayla screams out as it crawls through the railing. They hurried to an elevator as the Pyroraptor charges towards them roaring with it's claws out as they were in the elevator.
"Close it, close it!" Koki cried frantically.
They quickly closed the elevator doors just as the Raptor got to them and hits the wall and snarls at them. Kayla then brought her taser out and jabs it at the Pyroraptor zapping it as it snarls and whimpered curling back.
Owen pushed a button as the elevator lowers down whirring as the Pyroraptor snarls and snaps at the fencing trying to get to them.
The elevator descends down as Kayla breathes deeply and Martin lightly shivered.
"You good?" Owen asked.
"Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah." Kayla assured in a lie. "Yeah, I'm not shook at all. You?"
"Nah." Owen claimed. "Nah, no."
"Guys?" Chris turned to Aviva, Koki, and Jimmy.
"Oh, no, no!" Aviva assured bluffing.
"All good, here." Koki lightly chuckled.
"I'm good." Jimmy said though shaking.
Kayla then brought out a device as Owen took it showing a location.
"Ejection seat beacon." Kayla said as Owen took it. "We'll find her."
"Okay. Okay." Owen said as the device beeped.
"You really love her, huh?" Kayla said.
Owen nodded. "Yeah."
"You actually should've seen them seven years ago." Aviva said. "Complete opposites."
"I get it." Kayla said. "I like redheads, too."
Back at the facility, Lewis and Zach wandered through the hall as he was looking through his phone.
Then the head security appeared and knocked on the window.
"What? God?" Lewis said startled from that.
The head security then gestured his head as indistinct chatter was heard from the group at their computers as they join him.
"What is it now?" Zach asked.
Ellie and Alan were then heard screaming through a monitor as they looked at a screen as locusts swarmed around madly.
"Who is that?" Lewis asked.
"It's Grant and Sattler." Jeffery said.
"What?!" Zach exclaimed.
They watched the footage as they struggled in the chamber.
"Is this live?" Lewis asked not believing this.
"12 minutes ago." Jeffery explained. "We were tracking the escaped asset. My guys missed it. They stole a DNA sample."
Ellie shouts through the monitor.
"How'd they get there?" Lewis asked growing angrily.
"They used an access key." Jeffery explained.
"How did they get one?" Zach questioned.
"Yankee White clearance." Jeffery said. "One of our cameras saw Ian Malcolm put something in Sattler's pocket."
Lewis then sighed. "All right. I want to see him. And get Ramsay up here too, will you?" Jeffery nodded. "Where are they now?"
The monitor showed a pod beacon going through the tunnels.
"On the way to the airfield." Jeffery said as they were en-route. "They caught the hyperloop right on schedule."
"They're not gonna get that far." Zach growled.
Meanwhile in the hyperloop, Alan, Ellie, and Maisie sat quietly as they head through the tunnel and Maisie sighed.
"How are you?" Alan asked. " You all right?"
Maisie softly chuckles. "Not really, no." After the whole ordeal she went through; kidnapped by poachers, and sent halfway round the world.
"Hey." Ellie said. "I, uh, knew your mom."
Maisie turns to her. "You did?"
"Mm-hmm." Ellie nodded. "Yeah, a few years after Hammond died, she came to my university to lecture, and... we became good friends."
"What was she like?" Maisie asked curiously.
"Brilliant." Ellie recollecting the times she spent with her. "Light-years ahead of everybody else." She chuckled how bright Charlotte was. "And she had a conscience. While they were out building theme parks, well, she was determined to prove that genetic power could save lives."
"And I was her experiment." Maisie said like she always felt.
"No." Ellie denied shaking her head smiling. "She wanted a child more than anything. But she wanted you to have what she couldn't. A full life. I didn't know her long, but I know she loved you very much."
Maisie remained silent now realizing that Charlotte had good intentions, and that she gave her life for her.
In the facility room, technicians chattered as Lewis, Zach, and Jeffery watched the screen as it beeped. And then Lewis works the monitor shutting the hyperloop down.
The hyperloop whirs as it powers down as Alan, Ellie, and Maisie noticed as the lights went out and they came to a stop.
"What's happening?" Maisie asked.
Then the hyperloop's doors opened as Alan and Ellie stepped out as they were in a cavern with a pool of water.
"This must be the old amber mines." Alan said. "We're inside the mountain."
"They must've made access doors when they built these tunnels." Ellie said and then turns to Maisie still in the hyperloop pod. "You ready?"
"I'm good." Maisie said sounding nervous.
"No, that's not reasonable." Alan argued.
"You want to go into the dark tunnel." Maisie said stubbornly. "I want to stay in the bulletproof tube. Who's being unreasonable?"
"But the bulletproof tube has no door." Alan pointed out.
Maisie took a step back still refusing to leave.
"Look, uh... I know you feel." Alan said remembering the dangerous moments had in Jurassic Park and Isla Sorna softening his tone. "It's... it's scary. It is. But trust me, moving forward is better than staying still. And Dr. Sattler here is a good person in a tight spot, and this is a tight spot. So, you coming?"
Thought reluctant still, Maisie remembers that they have been in more dangerous positions before. And that they made it out of Jurassic Park alive.
"All right." Maisie said convinced.
She then steps out of the hyperloop, and Alan found some old bolt-cutter in an emergency case and brought out a bandana and Ellie and Maisie with some flashlights. And Ellie lit a match as Alan ties the bandana on the bolt-cutters and Ellie lit the bandana as Alan used it as a torch.
And soon, they headed down the tunnel to find a way out.
Unaware of a frill-like sail sticking out of the pool of water.
A clear sign that they weren't alone in this cave.
In the room, Lewis, Zach and Jeffery acted casual as Lewis turns the monitor off as Ramsay appeared.
"Hey, I heard the alarm." Ramsay said. "Everything all right?"
"Yeah. No, no." Lewis reassured. "Nothing we can't, uh, handle. Listen..."
Ian enters the room as Ramsay turns to him.
"You rang?" Ian said.
"Ah, Malcolm." Zach said. "Glad you can join us."
"Oh, good." Lewis said. "Dr. Malcolm, you are... fired."
Ramsay turns back to Lewis. "What?"
"So sorry." Zach said faking his sympathy.
"It was such a cushy gig." Ian said muttering.
"You can give your access key to security if you still have it." Lewis said.
"One of the hyperloop pods just shut down in the amber mines." Denise reported at her console.
Ian turns to him and Zach as if he secretly knows something.
"What?" Lewis said in a fake-surprise tone. "Wow. This day." He said in a fake complete ignorance and exasperated voice. "Uh, which... which pod are we..."
"Where is it again?" Zach asked in the same tone.
"Are there, um... Dinosaurs in the mines?" Ian asked concernedly.
"There are dinosaurs everywhere." An engineer merely said. "I mean, you know, technically, birds are dinosaurs, g-genetically speaking at least."
"Okay, Lewis, Grant and Sattler are in this pod." Ramsay said. "We need to send a security team out there ASAP."
"Absolutely, Ramsay." Lewis said. "Thank you. Uh, let's all just stay in our lanes, though. We can take care of it. Thank you, Doctor." He turns to Ian.
"That's it, huh?" Ian frowned. "Nothing else to see here?"
"Excuse me?" Zach questioned turning to him.
"Uh, I'm not sure I admire your tone right now." Lewis said turning back to him. "You need to leave."
"Yeah, I do." Ian said. "But first, I owe all these folks an apology. I think that by lending my cachet to this joint, I might've made it seem as if Biosyn wasn't rotten to the core."
"That's enough, Ian." Lewis barked.
"I beg your pardon?" Zach said.
"See, here's how they get you." Ian said continuing on. "They give so many promotions in a short period of time that it bludgeons your capacity for critical thinking."
"Oh, my God." Lewis complained.
"For the love of..." Zach groaned.
"So then there are doors that you don't open, things that you ignore." Ian continued on. "But mainly, he's exploiting your enchantment with these." He held out a red dinosaur origami.
A Zach-bot was about to move in but Zach held his hand out signaling it to stop.
"Not sure if we're following." Zach said narrowing his eyes.
"Is there an actual concern here, or are you just..." Lewis questioned.
"You're racing towards the extinction of our species, and you two don't care." Ian said accusingly to both of them. "You two know exactly what you're doing, but you won't stop. You can't."
Lewis and Zach stepped towards him confronting him.
"Are you finished?" Zach questioned.
"You know, I thought you be might different, but you're just like everyone else." Lewis said shaking his head. "You see what you want to see. You imagine unchecked avarice, so that's what you find. You envision, what, an evil, unbound Prometheus, so that's what I am to you?"
"Or do you see a snake in the room?" Zach interrogated impatiently.
"Prometheus got gored." Ian said. "And there's always a snake in the room. So will you, you two rapacious rat bastards."
"Ramsay, will you help Dr. Malcolm gather his things?" Lewis asked now having enough. "His room, and then to the airfield. That's it."
Ian begins to leave but then turns back to them.
"Dodgson. Varmitech." Ian said.
Lewis and Zach stared coldly as Ian then turns and walks off as well as Ramsay.
Once gone, Lewis went over and turns to one of the computers showing the locusts, the dam with the down C-119, the powered down hyperloop, and footage of the water maintenance level.
Meanwhile, the valley's forest, the device beacon beeps as Owen, Kayla and the Wild Kratts followed it as they looked for Claire.
They soon found the ejection seat in the branches as animals were heard chittering, squawking, and chirping. But there was no sign of Claire, and then they noticed patches of blood on some ferns.
Growing concern, they followed a trail of blood patches on the ground as they got to a log over a ledge and peeked over and saw a deer carcass that the Therizinosaurus killed earlier.
Giving them relief that Claire was still alive.
"Okay, so Claire's fine for now." Aviva said.
"But, where is she now?" Koki wondered.
"She can't have gone far." Chris said.
But then a branch snapping was heard close by as they looked and emerging from the mist layer was Wrecksy as she lets out a bellowing roar. And seems to be settling in well to her new home.
"DAH-!" Jimmy yelped loudly.
Martin quickly clap a hand over Jimmy's mouth and ducked as well as everyone else as they watched as Wrecksy got evermore closer to them.
"Oh, God." Kayla said quietly.
They got against the boulder as they watched as Wrecksy was unaware of them as she was too occupied on the deer corpse. Her head lowers down to it and huffs as she nudges the corpse lightly. Everyone stayed dead still and quiet nervously as she stood just a few feet away. Chris and Martin had plenty of close encounters with large top predators before like lions, wolves, tigers, Polar Bears, Great White Sharks and Killer Whales. But being this close to North America's all-time top predator was another matter.
They watched as Wrecksy nudges the carcass more as she appears to be checking for signs of life. And she then saw that the deer was truly dead and instinctively knows it, and she then lightly bites it and then grabs hold her prize.
But a predator finding a free prize doesn't always guarantee a meal.
A tree was suddenly heard snapping nearby as wings of birds were flapping off, the group froze and Wrecksy stands up with her prize in her jaws and tossed it further back to a good grip. And heavy footsteps were thumping close by as something big was approaching. And Wrecksy turns to her right as the creature appeared as she growled and a Giganotosaurus roars at her.
"Allosaurus?" Owen whispered.
"It's too big to be an Allosaur." Martin objected.
"What is that?" Chris said softly. "A Carchardontosaurus?"
"Mapusaurus?" Martin guessed.
Kayla shook her head. "Giganotosaurus." She corrected. "Largest known terrestrial carnivore."
"Are you kidding me?" Chris said stunned. "That there, is the biggest predator to ever stalk South America."
They watched as the Giganotosaurus confronts Wrecksy as she stepped back as she has never met a bigger predator before.
"He put two apex predators in one valley." Kayla said. "Pretty soon there's only gonna be one."
Wrecksy drops the deer carcass and then both giant predators roar at each other. They both charged as the Giganotosaur rams Wrecksy as he pushed her back as she struggles and then bites down on Wrecksy's face as she roared in pain. She soon manages to pull free from the Giga's jaw grip and then roars at him with a bite wound on her face. And the Giganotosaurus roars as she turns and leaves growling.
"That big bully." Aviva glared at the Giganotosaurus.
"Yeah, that's no way for Gigas to treat old Wrecksy." Martin said and naming him.
Having putting his rival in place for now, Gigas bends down to the deer corpse as they watched and he then turns away as his massive tail brushes the ground. And Gigas heads off tossing the deer further into his mouth and swallows it whole. And being bigger than his rivals, Gigas can steal and scavenge other kills more than making his own.
But deer are only snacks for him as Chris and Martin knew he was capable of going after much bigger game.
Author's Note:
I apologize for the long wait again, but I'll make sure to make up the time.
And that Therizinosaurus stalking Claire like that, sure made it look like it's old predatory instinct still remains though being a plant-eater. And in comparsion with Dominion's and Prehistoric Planet Therizinosaurus, if it did had feathers in real life, which feather coating is the most accurate?
And I don't think Pyroraptor could actually like that in real-life. It's feathers looks more for show than water insulation.
And happy 25th for the very first DreamWorks films, Antz.
