After safely landing/splashing down back on the surface of Hyrule, the group headed towards Lookout Landing, a base of operations established near Hyrule Castle. Along the way, something was missing on Link that was immediately noticed.
"Hey, Link? Where did the Master Sword go?" Glimmer asked.
"As we passed through the door leading to the spot where we dived from, there was a pedestal nearby. When I placed the Master Sword on it, Recall suddenly activated, sending it somewhere as it completely disappeared." Link said.
"Wait, so you're telling me that you deliberately gave up the master sword? Dude, how are we gonna fight Ganondorf without it? That's the one and only thing that can beat him!" Kazuma asked.
"I'm sure there's a reason why, in its current state, it's useless against Ganondorf." Ace said.
"Ace is right. I still can't believe what happened to it though. The Legendary Sword that Seals the Darkness, used to defeat evil time and time again, broken like it was a rusty blade." Hope said. "I don't think we've ever seen any incarnation of Ganondorf that was as powerful as this one."
"For sure. At least a hundred times more than the one Ainz snatched at the Ultimate Smash Battle. Even more, he knows about us. He's not leaving anything to chance." David said.
"For right now, let us meet with Purah and tell her what has transpired." Spade suggested.
"Boy oh boy, are the others gonna be surprised when they get told we found more than just an Emblem Bracelet." David said.
"That girl said her name was Veronica, right? Who is she anyway?" Valfor asked.
"I'm not sure. No records of her name have appeared in any Texts across all Fire Emblem history." Cheetah said.
"I do remember this one mobile game, though. Maybe she's from there…? I don't know, I didn't go that far yet." David said.
"Well, whoever she is, she looks like Royalty. Maybe a princess of a kingdom we haven't heard of? She never gave her kingdom's name before Ganondorf got her in that chokehold." Legolia said.
"I think we'll hear the details once we free her. But for now, let's meet back with the others." Shuichi said.
After a bit of a hike, the group soon made it to the base known as Lookout Landing. It was stationed a fair distance away from Hyrule Castle, which, due to Ganondorf's actions, was for some reason suspended in the air. It was built on the site of the Sacred Ground Ruins, and was outfitted with walls,a giant telescope for observation, some sort of tower, and all sorts of other setups for training and rest. As soon as they made it to one of the main gates two guards noticed them.
"Could it be? Link? And the Hero Alliance as well? It's you! You're all back!" one of the guards said. "Wh-where have you all been?!"
"Last that anyone saw any of you or Princess Zelda was when you went to investigate the gloom and search for that Emblem Bracelet you mentioned…and then the castle rose into the sky, and everyone's been so worried about what happened to you all!" the other said.
"It's a long story. Too long." David said.
"I see. I think it'll be better explained to Purah. She's nearly worn herself out trying to figure out where you all went. She's working in that large building over there." the second guard said, directing them to the building with the telescope. "Please, report to her right away! She'll want to know you're alright."
"Thanks. Anything else we need to know?" Hope asked.
"While you were gone, a group of people we didn't recognize arrived at camp. They claimed to be friends of yours, so we allowed them to stay. They've been hard at work these past few days trying to figure out all that has happened since you disappeared." the first guard said.
"I think we know who these guys might be." Connor said. "Anyway, we better go see Purah."
The group headed up to the second floor of Lookout Landing and made their way to the building noted by the guards. Outside the door, someone was looking into a window. It appeared to be a young Sheikah girl.
"Doc looks busy… hm?" the girl asked, turning herself to see the others. "Uh…ah!" she looked everyone over before her eyes fell on Link. "That hair! Those eyes! And all of you are…! Duh… DUH..DOC!" she cried. "Doctor Puuuraaah! Master Zeo! The Swordsman! The Swordsman and his allies have returned!" she called at the top of her lungs.
Crashing was heard from inside the building as somebody barreled out of it at frantic speed.
"Oi! Could you slow down for a bit, Purah?! No need to rush!"
"You try being worried sick for 4 days when you have no idea where these guys went!" the woman shouted into the building as she looked at the group and huffed. "Ok.. now where have you all been?!"
"Long story." Hope said. "You're not gonna believe it."
"Guys… you and Linky aren't ghosts, are you?" the woman asked before looking at Link's right arm. "That looks interesting…" the woman then took a breath as she calmed down. "One step at a time. What exactly happened?" she asked, taking her goggles off to reveal her eyes.
"Hold on… Linky?"
Eventually, someone came out of the building, revealing to be one of the founders of Team XDR, Zeo Naotora. "Well… look who showed up." Zeo smiled as he approached the Alliance. "Long time no see, Hero Alliance."
"Come on, it wasn't that long." David said.
"Hey, it's been 6 months since we've last met. Of course it is." Zeo replied.
"Heh. For you guys, maybe." David said.
"So, this is them?" Valfor asked.
"Yep. Not what you guys expected, huh?" Shuichi asked.
"Yeah, I guess. I was expecting him to be taller, but…not really important." DJ said. "Zeo, right?"
"So these are Mythos Hearts, Fatebreakers, and Reformed Society, huh? You guys look very imposing up close, but it's all the better since you guys are on our side. At least…I hope some of you are." Zeo said, observing the three teams.
"Eh, these guys are pretty cool once you get to know them." Kazuma said.
Sachiko and the others came down from the lookout. "Oh, thank goodness you guys are alright. We were getting a bit worried."
"It's a long story, guys. Too long. But you guys are not gonna believe what we found." David said.
"Try us." Akira said as she and Gaius came out of the same building Purah was in.
"Good to see ya." Gaius smiled.
"Akira, Gaius! Had a feeling you'd come with Zeo too." Hope said. "What took you guys so long to get our call?"
"We've been busy on our multiverse. Very busy." Akira replied.
"But we've gotten a lot stronger since we've last met, and gained new allies and obtained some of the Gjallarhorn fragments." Gaius added.
"We'll talk details on your adventures later. As you can probably tell, Hyrule's in danger, again. But this time it might be a lot worse than what you've seen in other times. Let's get you and Purah up to speed." Hope said.
"As soon as you would LET us say it, Hope!" David called out to him. "Seriously, does anyone ever tell you how rude you can get sometimes? Anyways, long story short… Good news and bad news. The good news is we found the Emblem Bracelet that Theodore brought here."
"...And the bad news?" Sachiko asked.
"...Ganondorf has awoken and he has it." Cheetah said.
"...Let me guess, you found his corpse under Hyrule Castle." Akira guessed.
"More or less. He even shattered Link's Master Sword for good measure." David said.
"Hm?" Zeo then noticed Link's new arm. "What the flip happened to your arm, dude?!"
"You just noticed that now?!" G. Aqua asked.
"The corruption that damaged the Master Sword damaged his arm as well, so a being named Rauru lent his own right arm to him." Ace said.
"We met him on someplace called the Great Sky Island." Connor said, pointing up to the big island up in the sky where they came from. "We ended up there after we were knocked out for 4 days."
"Huh, no wonder we didn't get a return call from you guys." Gaius noted. "Good thing Sachiko was able to fill us in on the situation after we parked the Zi-O Liner next to the Galaxy King."
"Wait… Emblem Bracelets?" Akira blinked before looking at the red and blue-haired girl and gasped in surprise. "...Divine Dragon Alear?!"
"You know who I am?" Alear asked.
"Ah-ah-ah! Questions for another time, guys." David said before Team XDR asked too many questions..."
"Ah, sorry." Akira apologized. "Please continue."
"We'll explain everything bit by bit later." Sachiko said. "But news of Ganondorf reawakening is quite concerning. Monsters have been appearing everywhere."
"That's mostly due to the Emblem Bracelet we found on Ganondorf. He kinda… subjugated the Emblem to do his bidding, and now he's able to summon monsters any time." Glimmer said.
"An Emblem that can summon…" Zeo hummed, before his eyes widened in shock. "That was Veronica's bracelet, wasn't it?"
"Yep. That's her name." David said.
"...I swear you guys have gotten Hibiki's curse at some point." Zeo sighed.
"We don't know much about Veronica, other than what Tiki explained. Her power lets anyone who wears her summon just about anything to fight for the user. Other than she's a princess of some kingdom, her name, royal status, and powers are all we've got." Betty mentioned.
"I see." Gaius noted. "Anything else besides her?"
"Well, we do have a few bracelets on us right now." David said as he showed his bracelet, followed by Dan, Kido and Throne.
"Greetings. You must be the three leaders of the Xross Drive Rebellion." Edelgard said.
"Edelgard…" Zeo noticed the white-haired women. "Heh, to think I'd meet you in this kind of situation. You doing okay?"
"Yes. We were among the first emblems to be awakened. Along with myself, Dimitri and Claude, as well as Tiki, our allies have also managed to recover Camilla and Soren." Edelgard replied.
"That's good." Akira replied back. "How many do you need left before you guys can go to Elyos?"
"Counting Veronica who's on Ganondorf's arm, we've got three left." Hope said.
"So you're basically halfway there." Zeo deduced.
"That's about the size of it." Bardock nodded.
"Hold on." Gaius noticed a certain leader missing. "Where's Mark?"
"He went off to help Richard and Siege with something. He should be back soon." Gohan said.
"Whatever it was, it sounded important. Something about Richard going postal or something…?" Eddy recalled.
"Okay, if we can divert AWAY from the doom and gloom for a moment…" David started.
"Right. Sorry." the younger boy apologized. "Guess we should meet up with the other XDR members…"
Zeo's Zikan Phone suddenly rang, making him answer. "What's up?"
"This is Laura Bodewig reporting from Hyrule Castle. You guys need to come and see this… large dark corrupted hole below the floating castle. And… I think I see a girl with short gold hair and a white dress on one of the castle walls."
"A girl wearing a white dress?" Zeo repeated before looking at the Alliance. "Ring any bells?"
"All of 'em! That's Zelda!" Steven said.
"You guys should probably head over to Hyrule Castle and meet up with the others." Purah said. "Captain Hoz is with the rest of Zeo's team. After the Upheaval, they've been searching tirelessly for you guys."
"Upheaval? Is that what we're calling this?" Kayra asked.
"Well considering Hyrule Castle was literally uprooted from the ground and floated into the air a couple feet, I think that name's appropriate." Cia said.
"Makes sense." Klonoa said.
"Hang tight, Laura. We're on our way." Zeo said.
"Roger." Laura replied and ended the call.
"Well then…" Zeo said as he and Gaius took out their Ziku Drivers and Ridewatches, while Akira took out her PreChange Mirror and PreCards. "Time to get to work."
"All right…let's move it." Jexi said as they hurried over towards Hyrule Castle while Zeo, Gaius, and Akira transformed into Kamen Rider Zi-O, Geiz, and Cure Starlight. Or at least…where it once was. "Oh man…"
"Yeah…up close…the place really looks like a flying castle now." Dan said. "Any chance we could send fliers up there?"
"Not a good idea. Seems Ganondorf's got his own air force." Theo said, pointing to the flying monsters patrolling the castle.
"Yep. Clearly not getting in that way." Revali said.
"Let's focus on finding Laura and the captain first. We'll think about the castle… and the huge hole below it later." Zi-O stated.
The group headed into the castle town and headed for where the scouting team was stationed. They arrived at the First Gatehouse to look for their contacts.
"Up here, everyone!"
They looked up the gatehouse and saw Laura and the captain.
"We got here as fast as we could, Laura." Geiz said.
"That's fine." Laura replied before noticing the Alliance. "And it's good to see the Hero Alliance again."
"Guten tag to you too, Laura. Glad you're still focused on your duties as ever." Hope said.
"I'm a member of the Rebellion for a reason, Hope." Laura replied. "Come up here so I can explain the situation."
"Let me guess…it's more than just the castle rising up into the sky?" Subaru asked.
"I'm afraid so. You can get a better look up here." Laura replied.
After the group went up the gatehouse, a guard offered a pair of binoculars as the group took turns looking to see a blond woman standing up there.
"That…that really is Zelda. It's a relief to see her okay." Theo said. "How did she even get up there? I thought she fell when the chamber collapsed."
"Unless she can teleport herself." Starlight replied.
"Nah. We'll just have to assume that someone was able to grab her as Rauru did for us." Kaito said.
"We can ask her how later." Tanya stated. "For now, we should get her back to Lookout Landing."
"Hey! Zelda!" Ethox waved to the girl. "It's us! Glad to see you're okay!"
"Hm?" Laura then noticed Zelda turning into a ball of light and flying away. "Did she just…"
"Okay, she just left. Alright then." Grantz remarked.
"Well, so much for taking her back." Geiz said.
"There's also one more issue." the guard said as they were escorted away from the castle and to a large hole in the middle of Hyrule Field. "These craters have appeared all across the land since the Upheaval. They seem to lead to some subterranean world."
"First stuff up in the sky, and now deep underground?" Bow asked.
"Actually, didn't Zelda mention that the Gloom originated from below Hyrule Castle?" Glimmer asked.
"Yes. We've seen a few strange characters going down there as of late." the guard said. "We warned them of the danger but they did not listen. Actually, we were hoping if…"
"Say no more…looks like we're going to do some spelunking." Rimuru said.
"This will be fun." Cheetah said.
"Heh. Of course you would enjoy it." David said.
"Are you saying you don't enjoy spelunking?" Glacius asked.
"Actually… I've never done it before. But from what I'm told, it's actually quite fun." David said.
"Well, no better time than now to try." Esmeralda said.
"See ya at the bottom!" DW typed before super jumping into the Hyrule Field Chasm.
"At least wait for us!" the group said as they followed after the Octoling.
As they descended, the group looked in awe as down below were a number of glowing plants and creatures as well as a few statues here and there.
"I can barely see more than two miles ahead of me. This place is completely pitch black." Ragna said.
"Keep your shoes on." Razmi said, holding up her lantern.
"What about the beastmen? Can you guys see anything down here?" Sachiko asked.
"Um…we can't. This darkness is like a whole new kind." Esmeralda said.
"It's so bizarre." Glacius said.
"En fait, Molotok and I can see just fine." Le Kraken spoke up. "As regular squids and hammerheads can see in the dark, so can we."
"Good thing I can do this." Starlight rotated her PreBrace and lit up the area with her glowing hand. "Is this better?"
"Yeah…that actually does…huh?" Miles said before seeing something near a supply shelf. "I see someone over there."
They slowly approached as the large figure was taking notes. "I see…so the Zonai really did leave their inventions down here too. Sadly, they're almost the same as the modern-day ones. Dang it!" they cried out as they punched the shelf and demolished it.
"Jeez!"
"Huh?" they said, turning towards the group. "More bandits? I thought they took care of you. Grrr….S-Angel! S-Prince! Do your jobs!" they called out as two figures jumped before them.
"All right. Call all the lackeys you want. We can…what…the…" Pit said as looking at the two figures, they saw they were child versions of himself and Ace. Although their skin was dark and had white hair and black wings.
"What the hell are these things?" Simon asked.
"Ace, did you secretly knock some lady up awhile back? It's okay. I won't judge." Kazuma said.
"I'm gay, remember?" Ace asked with an incredulous stare.
"They look just like you and Pit. It's like looking in a mirror. Though why am I getting this familiar…" Usopp said as the two new fighters raised their hands as a charge came from them. "Pacifista!" he said as the two fired light lasers at the group.
"They're machines?!" A2 asked.
"Read it and weep…these two…are the epiphany of our research! The force that replaces the Seven Warlords…the Seraphim!" the figure said.
"Replace the Seven Warlords?" David asked.
"So the World Government had a backup plan once the Warlords were disbanded after all…" Jin said.
"Hey, quit assuming it was all their idea. The Seraphim were our own creations!" the figure said as they went and punched down another shelf.
"Hey, watch it! You're breaking down all the shelves." David said.
"I can't help it! I'm really really angry right now." they said.
"Who the heck even are you?" Jexi said.
"Who am I? I'm one of the greatest minds of the time. The best inventor in the world. I'm Vegapunk!" they said.
"How's that possible? We met someone else who said their name was Vegapunk." Mari said.
"Huh…oh, you met Shaka. See, the greatest mind in the world, has so much to offer but he's only a single man. So what does he do, he creates six others to improve his workload and make all his ideas come true. Each of us embodies an aspect of him. I am the one who embodies his violence! Punk-05! Vegapunk Atlas!" they said.
They saw Atlas was an extremely large girl with half of her hair being white and the other half being pink. She appeared to have a long, bushy tail on her abdomen. She wore a short dark dress with her number on it as well as a downward-pointing arrow on the front. She also wears dark boots, dark gloves with light sleeves attached, an earpiece enabling communication with the other satellites, and a large jetpack on her back.
"She's as tall as Kaido!" Stoj said in surprise.
S-Angel and S-Prince moved to attack again, but before they could.
"Wait wait wait stop! If you're with Shaka, there's no reason to fight!" Glimmer said.
"You're the ones who went and tried to rob me. This is your just desserts!" she said as the two Seraphim continued to fire.
"We're not bandits! We're not trying to rob you!" Koala said.
"She's right. This is all just a big misunderstanding!" Theo said. "So please call off your murder bots."
Atlas just glared for a bit. "S-Angel, S-Prince, stand down!" she called out as both Seraphim stopped attacking.
"Oh…thank goodness…" S-Prince sighed in relief. "I was for sure a little nervous there."
"Eh…we had it, easy." S-Angel said.
"They can talk?!" G. Aqua asked in shock.
"Of course they can! They aren't ordinary machines. They were created from your Lineage Factors along with Lunarian genetics and other things I can't go into detail about." Atlas said.
"Are there more of these?" Jexi asked.
"Oh yeah. We did lose a couple of our first gen test models to some guy. But their updated versions are even tougher. We pretty much have seraphim replicas of almost every member of your alliance." Atlas said.
"Wait, clones of the Hero Alliance?" Zi-O questioned. "And who's idea was to make those?"
"Well…of course it was the Stella…the original Vegapunk. A way to improve past the Pacifista." Atlas said.
"So it was all your creator's idea? Gotta say, loving the attention to detail." Entrapta said.
"It sure was. In fact, he's the reason I'm even down here." Atlas said. "We had heard about the Upheaval and the unveiled Zonai technology. I was sent to see if any of it could be used for future inventions and projects, as well as gather samples of the tech and Zonaite, the material used to create it."
"That's what we were hoping to ask about. We were wondering why a great mind was down here. But how did you end up here?"
"Well I was taking samples from under that old castle, but the floor collapsed and I ended up falling down here, which turned out to be even better. So I contacted all of the Seraphim to come and join me down here so we could excavate." Atlas said. "I'm a little disappointed that some of the Zonai's tech is based of what we have in the modern era."
"Let's see… wheels, fans…yeah…some of this stuff is related to modern day." Hope said.
"I really don't get it but it all does look so incredible." S-Prince said.
"Either way, I'll still gather as much as we can…maybe think of a way for these things to interact." Atlas said.
"Well…we're sorry to disturb you." Jexi said. "We'll leave you be."
"Though…there is one more thing…how did you even get our DNA anyway?" Pit asked.
"Why don't you ask the croc? He's the one selling it online." S-Angel said as he pointed to Vector.
"Vector…." Sakura glared at Vector upon this revelation.
"Uh…you know…there are a number of crocs in the world…all of them, not as handsome as me, but pretty identical." Vector said.
"Don't shift the blame at me! I'm a hunter, not a surgeon. I don't even know how to take a blood sample." Rayleigh said.
"Do we even want to know how?" Bardock asked deadpan.
"At this rate, you're staying away from the computer room." Zi-O deadpanned at the detective.
"You're just willing to go to any lengths to get money aren't you?" Simon asked.
"Look…let me explain. So…a number of my debts were coming due and they were threatening to break my kneecaps…and arms…and skin me… But then I found out about celebrity auctions where people just sell stuff celebrities used for their hair and junk. So, since we were all kinda like celebrities, I thought it would be alright to…reap the rewards?" Vector said.
"And you didn't think our funds would cover it all?" Francisca asked with a scornful look.
"Or who might be buying your products?" Kendo asked.
"Not that living Lunarian clones of us are a bad thing." Entrapta said.
"Clearly you didn't see them try to kill us earlier!" Kazuma said.
"Plus, you do know how powerful Lunarians can be, right?" David asked, pointing to himself and Kirumi.
"Next time, ask first." Starlight said.
"If I asked, they were gonna say no!" Vector said.
"For obvious reasons, Vector." Cheetah said with a paw on her head as she shook it in disbelief and disgust.
"And you call yourself a detective." Laura deadpanned.
"Not that this argument isn't enjoyable… but what are you all doing down here?" Atlas asked.
"We heard from up top that a couple of strange individuals came down here a while ago from up above. Do you know anything about that?" Vashyron asked.
"Yes actually. A number of strange creatures were down here searching for metal and material to construct some giant hammer. They called themselves Ginhana Sky." Atlas said.
"Ginhana Sky? Oh! The Pokémon guild!" Megumin said.
"Looks like they finally got our message and came to meet us in Hyrule as well." Aria said.
"There was also another group. Once again, sorry for the attack, but I had a good reason. They pretended to be innocent explorers but they turned out to be bandits." Atlas said. "They had this symbol." she said, showing the upside-down Sheikah symbol.
"The Yiga Clan…" Dan said.
"They're still up to their old tricks? I thought when we went back in time and changed history, they went good." Bow remembered.
"You didn't look around well enough. While we did change some of history, not everything here changed." Jexi said. "The land was still in ruins yet the champions were brought back."
"Speaking of which, what happened to the current king of Hyrule?" Zi-O asked.
"He died out a long time ago. By right, Zelda is the current ruler but since Hyrule is still in shambles…it'll be awhile before you see any crowning ceremonies." Jexi said.
"So the king still died despite the history change." Zi-O noted. "No wonder I didn't see him when we first arrived here."
"We should probably look for Ginhana Sky and see what they've been up to down here. But we can't go any farther in here without not seeing ahead of Starlight's light. If only there was some way to light up the area more." Adora said.
"You can if you use the roots of those plants as well as Brightbulbs." Atlas pointed to said root ahead.
"Those just might work. Thanks, Atlas." Hope said.
"You're welcome. Good luck with your exploration." Atlas said as she started flying off using a jetpack as the two Seraphim followed her.
"So…we're just gonna leave her be?" Hope asked.
"She can take care of herself. And we might see her again if we ever come back down here. Right now though, let's go look for the members of Ginhana Sky." Ichiro said.
