Whoo, got a little something done in the meantime and hopefully this story will be enough to tide y'all over until I get some time to get back to any big stories. (pulls the Disclaimers over)
Disclaimer: I don't own Power Rangers, as it is a product of Hasbro, nor do I own "Decade: Reality and Consequences", as that was created by JurgenZero2034, and I definitely don't own any references to other media like Super Sentai or any anime or musical references. I only own my OCs.
(Tuesday April 7th, 6:30 am)
Grand Rapids Hails New Heroine
That was the headline of the news today as I walked into the office, sighing softly and brushing my hair back.
"Okay, not a bad start to covering my identity, but I don't know I'll be able to ensure my secrets forever." I shook my head and blew my bangs out of my face slightly.
"Not all of us had to hide our secret identities. Some of the teams were publicly known heroes."
I skidded to a stop when I heard the voice in my head. "Uh..." I looked around in confusion, but no one had been talking to me or even looking at me. So strange... "O... kay. That was strange. Not the weirdest thing so far though." I shrugged it off, knowing I was gonna be right eventually, but not realizing how right I was.
As I made it to my desk, I sat down and started working on the latest Kaijin news in NYC and Brooklyn, sighing softly as I listened to the others for anything related to the monster attacks here, and so far nothing, making me smile softly as I sipped some coffee. That was a relief. Maybe I could get through today without any trouble...
(Eight hours later...)
Well, I sure made it through the day shift without hassle. I don't think any villains would have wanted to try and attack the news station again anyway... at least for a little while.
As soon as I got to my door, I noticed a small package by my feet and picked it up. Like the Morpher package from yesterday, this one had no return address on it, only a note. "Huh. Twice in a row. Sure hope it's not consistent." I went inside and closed the door behind myself, sitting at my table and opening the package to find more rainbowy Legendary Ranger keys, from the Mighty Morphin' team all the way to the Cosmic Fury gang, and it wasn't just them, but there were also keys from the Sentai teams that were unused for Power Rangers! Well... half of them from the older days were there, at least. At least all the unused teams from 1990 onwards were there.
"Whoa, okay! I guess this is gonna be more interesting than I thought." Grabbing my notepad and a pen, I started to work on giving names to the unused teams, ensuring they were all labeled properly and taking notes on theming and matching names. "Express Chargers for ToQGer, Jungle Cubix for Zyuohger, Kyuranger has the Cosmic Fury team to represent them, so I could potentially make them an offshoot, maybe Galactic Saviors?" I sputtered slightly as I looked at the keys again. "Creativity stinks sometimes when I can't think of anything good."
"Eh, sometimes it's all just a big process. You learn to deal with it."
I jumped as soon as I heard the voice once more. "There it goes again. I'm not going crazy, am I?"
"Nope. You've just got some helpful friends who are wanting to train you."
I made a face slightly before I remembered something and clicked my fingers with a smile. "Oh, wait a second! I'm guessing all of you who are a part of me are Rangers or mentors of the past, so you guys are sort of my spiritual guides in a way!"
"Look at that. I'd say she's a quick learner."
I frowned at the comment slightly and rolled my eyes, instead returning my focus on labeling the Keys for normal English teams. "Let's see... Maybe Crystal Drivers for the Kirameigers... possibly Bug Dynasties for KingOhger... definitely Solar Charge for the Sun Vulcan team..." I kept working until I was certain I had some semblance of decent names for the teams before I got up and ensured the Keys and my Morpher were safe in my purse, heading out the door and jogging into the forest behind my house to be certain I had privacy while I trained with my abilities.
(45 minutes later...)
As soon as I felt I was far enough away from civilization, I pulled out my Morpher and changed into my default form, twirling my baton and starting my karate practice. I was in need of some good training anyway.
Before too long, I decided to stop and switch up my tactics. "Okay, I think I might need a little extra boost in my fighting prowess. Anyone, any ideas?"
"I'd say the best place to start is to try some Pai Zhuq techniques. Having an animal spirit for assistance with a battle will be a huge advantage."
I nod a bit, recognizing the term the one guide was talking about. "Okay, how do I start on finding my animal spirit?"
I didn't have any time to hear a reply because in the next second, I heard a branch snap which made me immediately spin around, looking for the culprit, and sure enough, I got surrounded by a platoon of Pordermans. "Oh boy."
Alright, time out for an explanation of Pordermans: They serve the Interdimensional Crime Group Gangler, basically as henchmen for the monsters themselves. Some are mindless, some not so much. Point is, they're a bunch of robber based foot soldiers.
"Glad I'm out here where there's no way I can hurt anyone!" I twirled my baton and started battling the Pordermans, finally free to go all out thanks to the openness of the wilderness.
But it wasn't gonna be enough as I suddenly got slammed by a bunch of Zentinels as well, rolling on the ground before I got up quickly. "You guys too??"
I don't really know much about the Zentinels at this point, but from what I could gather from different previews of Cosmic Fury and all, they're pretty much the new minions of Lord Zedd, the ultimate big bad of the Power Rangers universe, and looking at them? Yeah, they definitely have the ugly mugs of their boss.
Guess there was no alternative. I flipped to my feet and opened my Morpher, summoning a random Key, which turned out to be the SPD. "Perfect timing. Guess the police of the Rangers get a chance to kick butt before they get called on." With that, I locked the flipped up Key into my Morpher. "Legendary Ranger Summons: SPD!"
The five core team members appeared beside me in a bright flash. Their suits are basically all one blocky color with black on the sides shaped in their respective numbers, and the visors were all in some sort of arc that had as many points as their numbers did. And surprise bonus: The girls didn't need any skirts for their suits!
As for myself, I grabbed another Key and locked it into my Morpher. "Add a few extra to the mix for some backup. Legendary Ranger Summons: Bug Dynasties!"
The five man royal team appeared on my other side. Their suits are all purely one color each, with their royal crests on the right side of their chests, their respective insects acting as their visors, and like with SPD, no skirts for the gals.
I took my place between the reds and led the charge in, kicking keister and taking names in the process. As I paired off with the various duos, we all seemed to gel smoothly, ensuring that we weren't going to be beaten so easily.
After about maybe five minutes of combat, we managed to beat the minions, but the worst was yet to come.
My instincts propelled me to block an incoming attack from behind as I turned and saw a familiar face, making me frown in annoyance. "Oh great. You."
(To be continued...)
Stacey might be in the clear with her identity safeguarded for now, but she's not out of the woods yet in terms of fighting baddies. Who's confronting our hero? And how much will she learn from her guides? Stay tuned!
(Huh, that narration stuff really saves a lot of time...)
