Gwen found herself on top of a rooftop someplace she couldn't place in her mind, but that didn't matter to her right now. She patted herself up and down, waiting to see if she would turn to sand again. After taking a breather and patting herself multiple times,she calmed down. "What just happened to me?" she asked herself. All the sand seemed to do was place her somewhere else, but why?
Spider-Gwen was about to swing away to find out where she had been transported to when she heard what sounded like fighting. she got closer to the edge so that she could see. It seemed to be Ninjas attacking a restaurant for some reason. Could it have been The Hand? But why would Murdock do this? Plus it-
Her thoughts turned away as a man with grey hair was attacking an older woman. Gwen was ready to swing down and attack, but before she could make a move, the woman had her head hit against the wooden railing and thrown into it. The woman fell and landed onto a table nearby.
Spider-Gwen cursed at herself for her hesitantly. She swung down and kicked Sliver Hair in the face. "Hasn't anyone told you to respect your elders?" She quipped as she landed.
"Oh, great. Another surprise." Kung Lao said as he knocked another of those Lin Kuei ninjas out as he saw the masked woman seemly out of nowhere.
"Let us hope she is on our side." Raiden said as Raiden did the same to His attacker.
Spider-Gwen stepped forward. "So, what's the deal here? Murdock decided to expand his reach beyond New York?"
"You are not supposed to be here. For that you'll - " The grey man said before Gwen yawned as she stretched her legs and arms.
"You guys need better writing material." She said before going to attack. The man,however,disappeared in a cloud of smoke. "Wow. Shocking. Ninjas got a smoke bomb." Gwen said before her spider sense went off. She ducked the punch before it could hit her and punched Smokey The Bear in the face. He clearly wasn't expecting that with the look of shock on his eyes.
"No one has been able to doge that perfectly! Who are you?" The man said, confused.
A Pause. Gwen's len's shrink as she had a confused look under the mask. They really weren't with Murdock. Time to Test another Theory. "I'm Spider-Woman."
A chuckle came out of the man's mouth. "Sure." The man went to attack again, but Spider-Gwen quickly webbed his legs together, causing him to fall down to the floor. She them webbed his body to the floor.
"Now,be a good boy and think about what you did while you're in time out." She said before going over to the Other ,to her light shock,She had found most of the hench-ninja's on the floor."I would ask if you guys are alright, but it seems you both can fight pretty well." Spider-Gwen said as the two men looked at her. "Name's Spider-Woman." She said as she extended a hand.
Both men proceeded to shake it. "I'm Raiden. This is Kung Lao." Raiden said as he shook Spider-Gwen's hand.
"Good to meet you both. Let's go check up on-" Spider-Gwen began to say as her Spider-Sense went off, and she dodged out of the way. Upon looking at what was thrown her way, she saw it was ice. Her eyes looked up as she saw another man wearing a similar uniform as the man with Grey's hair, but this time his outfit was blue. Footsteps to her right made her look to see a man in a yellow uniform walking up with some of spear.
"Freeze Where you stand!" The Blue Man said as he threw another ice attack at them. They dodged it.
"How does he do that...?" Raiden asked.
"I have no idea." Kung Lao said, a bit worried.
"You interfere with Lin Kuei Business. Leave, or face our-". The Man in Blue said before Spider-Gwen quickly aimed her webs at the man's foot and pulled him down the roof."We'll take care of him. You go take care of the other one." Raiden said before he and Kung Lao quickly began to fight Frosty. Spider-Gwen ran over to fight The Man In Yellow. He quickly threw his rope around Gwen's leg and tried to unbalance her, but she quickly pulled her leg back to do the same to The Man In Yellow. He quickly fell over, and Spider-Gwen ran over and punched him in the face. After a moment of recovery,He punched her in the stomach.
"You are not supposed to be here." He said as he got up. "Leave now or-"
"Or Suffer Our Warth, Yeah, I get it." Spider-Gwen said before aiming her webs at the man, but he simply burned it off. "Wow. I didn't know you guys had a theme. what's your boy band name? The Elementals?' She quipped before she got closer and began to attack Hot Head with a series of punches. Some to the chest, a couple to the head. Hot head then punched her in the face, making her hit a wall behind her. Spider-Gwen then landed one more hit to the head before the man went down. "Cool down, why don't you?" She said before going over to The Duo.
They were still fighting the man on the first floor of the building. Spider-Gwen web-slinged down and kicked the man onto the wall and webbed him onto it. "That takes care of them."
"Madame Bo!" Kung Lao said as The Duo rushed over to her, Spider-Gwen joining them after making sure Frosty wouldn't break free. "Is she alright?" Gwen asked as She could see that the woman wasn't moving. "She's out cold.." Raiden said"Oh no..is she-?
"Dead?" Bo spoke as Gwen stepped back I. shock. "Not Yet." Bo then began to stand up.
"Madam Bo..How are you uninjured?" Kung Lap asked as Madame Bo put a cigarette in her mouth and lit it using a lighter.
Spider-Gwen would be lying if she said she wasn't a bit scared. How does someone fall from the second story and be completely fine? Hell, whenever Gwen had to do that, It took her a good 7 seconds for her to get up.
"Kung Lao!" Raiden said as he pointed up to the 2nd floor. Both him and Spider-Gwen looked up to see a hooded figure walking down the stairs.
"That can't be good." Gwen said before the figure lowered his hood. Spider-Gwen looked to his eyes. They were glowing blue. It made her feel uneasy.The man began to speak. "So,Madam Bo, are they ready?""The boys are a bit thick in the head, perhaps... but they are ready. The masked woman was not part of this, but she performed with some skill." Madam Bo said,Spider-Gwen's len's shrinked in confusion.
"I am Lord Liu Kang. God of fire and protector of Earthrealm." Liu Kang said as Spider-Gwen got even more confused.
"What are you even talking about?" Spider-Gwen said.
Liu turned to Raiden and Kung Lao,Seemingly ignoring Spider-Gwen. "Madam Bo has been preparing you for this moment since you were boys. Today, you have been proven worthy of joining my Champions."
"This fight was a test?" Raiden asked.
"Of your ability and character, Yes."
Spider-Gwen's eyes widened as she realized the situation. This wasn't even a real crime. It was just some sort of training. And she may have just ruined it. "Oh my God, I-I had no idea! I thought-"
"Relax, Stranger." Liu said as all the Ninjas got up. The one in Yellow burning her webs away. "The offer extends to you too. Earthrealm itself is one of many realms. Together, they comprise the whole of the universe. The time draws near for the grand martial arts tournament between Earthreal and the realm of Outworld. Held once every century,It allows each realm to demonstrate its strength. While our realms are at peace,there are Outworlders who would prefer us to be at war. Our victory in the tournament will..temper their zeal."
Spider-Gwen felt like her head was filling up with all of this sudden info. How was this hidden? The amount of stuff that happened in the short amount of her time as a superhero showed her so many crazy things happening in the public eye. So, how was this hidden? "So you bought me here? Gotta say,going to rate you low on the Uber."
"What do you mean?" Liu asked.
"The whole disappearing into sand? Scaring the crap out of me?"
Liu went silent. "I did no such thing. That will be looked into. Will you join us?"
Spider-Gwen knew she couldn't say no. Not when there were so many questions for her to find the answer for. Besides, if things went wrong,she could fight against these 'Outworlders'. "Yes."
