"This is all of my fault. If only I had handled things at the camp differently. Gods, I could've stopped all of this but I didn't." Raven spoke, wiping a tear from her eye after taking in Qrow's harsh but nonetheless true words.
"Finally starting to grow a conscience after all these years I see? It makes sense that'd you'd be the only one who'd truly grasp Apollo's power. It is divine, unlike any other Semblance out there." Lefteris spoke, still bound in his cuffs.
She said nothing, still sitting down as he continued to ramble on, unable to muster the will to refute him.
"As much as it pains me to say it, you may have been right. I spent so long trying to harness his strength, not just for my goals but for the safety of everything and everyone else as well. Now he's free from my control, from anyone's control! He's not going to rest now until he destroys everything in sight." He said, genuinely frightened as he continued to stare at Raven.
"But at least I will perish happily, knowing that my life's dream has finally been fulfilled. Destroying the Branwen family once and for all." Lefteris gloated, chuckling as Raven's face got angrier
Yang and Apollo are fighting in the ruins of the village square. The others were badly hurt and beaten, struggling to move to her aid. Her fists glowing, she swings several right and left crosses, him blocking and redirecting each blow with his hands and tail. He retaliates by kneeing her directly in the face. He then grabs her, performing a fast Boston Crab. She screams in pain as he finishes with a piledriver.
Apollo gives her a vicious sneer as he jumps several steps back, admiring his handiwork.
Yang slowly and clumsily rises up, her forehead and upper arms starting to bleed as she grits her teeth.
"You don't give up do you?!" Apollo asked, raising his right arm as another energy ball forms in his hands. That humming sound ever louder.
"I guess I've never known how to." She replied, giving off a woolly laugh as he tossed the projectile at her, sending her flying onto the roof of a nearby A frame building.
Weiss and Oscar ran up behind him as he turned around to face them. Oscar swings his weapon at him as Weiss began to summon an Ursa, fortunately and thankfully having no need for her rapier.
Oscar manages to hold the brute back somewhat before becoming ensnared in Apollo's tail.
"Oh crap crap!" He said as it began to crush his upper body. He yells in pain as Apollo evilly chuckles, relishing the sounds.
"Keep it up as long as you're conscious. Music to my ears boy" Apollo said
Just as Oscar's bones were about to break, he looked to see the summon ram Apollo backwards, his feet digging into the ground as he slid back.
"What's this intriguing ability? You're truly proving yourself a nuisance Weiss Schnee." Apollo stated as he charged at the Summon Ursa, blocking its massive claw swipes.
"The same ability that's going to defeat you." Weiss replied as the Ursa Summon continued its assault.
"Oh please" Apollo thought, blocking its massive paws with his forearms, knocking it back with his tail. It growls at him as his right fist glows from his blue Aura. He lunges, yelling in the air as he plows through the summon, destroying it as he flies towards Weiss. She gasps as his knee slams into her, flying her into a nearby apartment building. He cups his hands together before hitting her, her Aura breaking as she plummets down the ground completely unconscious.
"Oh don't you worry Miss Schnee, I'll make sure you and your little boyfriend are buried together soon enough. I promise" Apollo laughed, condescension lurking in his tone.
He feels several smacks hit his backside as he whips around to see Blake sprinting towards him, raising her weapon high as she struck, his forged from steel arms blocking her attacks as they began to clash, her hitting with as much strength as she had left.
"Why Apollo?! Why are you doing this?! After everything we've done together. You were our ally, our friend." Blake shouted angrily, taking several kicks to the chest and stomach, causing her to skid back.
"Why? Because it's fun, what other reason would I need? You were all nothing more than means to an end. You always were." Apollo told her
"All of these innocent people." She spoke through her gritted teeth, barely containing her anger as she looked at a severed arm, likely from a woman judging from its size. "You're going to pay for this!" Blake exclaimed as Apollo swung his tail at her. She promptly creates a clone, bolting away as it shattered.
He forms a look of surprise at this as Jaune moves in, striking him in the chest with the tip of his sword as Ruby and Qrow join in. He gives them another cocky grin as they clashed with him.
"Even though you are hopelessly outmatched against me you all still fight to your last breath. You have my respect Team RWBY. You're truly worthy of your Huntsman blood!" Apollo said, grabbing Qrow as he pulled off a gorilla press, driving him right into his knee before switching his attention to Jaune, ramming his elbow clean into his face as he fell to the ground.
He punches Ruby hard enough to send her flying into several vehicles while knocking Blake to the ground with his tail. After dispatching them all he leaps off of the ground and to the building where he sent Yang too.
She opens her eyes, her vision blurred from Apollo's early blows. As she awoke, she saw him standing over her, his unnatural looking eyes laced with malice and a tooth bared smile that almost looked too big for his face.
Apollo grabs her up by her neck, releasing it after his tail had begun to wrap around her body. Slowly but surely it began to squeeze, tightening his hold on her.
Yang began to scream in agony as she felt his tail get tighter, swearing that she could hear her bones start to snap like twigs. At this rate they'd be nothing but powder.
She continued to scream into the air as Apollo chuckled loudly through his gritted teeth. Ruby had begun to get up, still in immense pain from her beatings. She had begun to cry as she heard her sister being crushed to death.
"Apollo, you stop right now you hear me?! You bastard!" Ruby yelled, the loudest she had yelled at anyone. At least to her
"Then why don't you come up and stop me huh? C'mon, what's wrong Ruby? Have you given up?! I expected much more from a girl like you!" Apollo replied, his tail, constricting Yang further.
"I know you can hear me Raven! Listen to your child's cries well, because they will be the last sounds you ever hear from her! You're going to suffer just like I did, and it's only just begun!" Apollo yelled, laughing psychotically into the air
Raven had finally stood up from her spot on the ground, having heard the sounds. They were the most horrible she had ever heard in her life.
She clenches her fists as Lefteris continues to chuckle at her.
"How does it feel Raven? Now you're one who will lose their child against their will?"
Her eyes had projected her signature red flames, her hand on Omen's blade as she flew away from him.
"You let her go now!" Ruby said, her face fuming with rage as tears ran down her face. She wanted more than anything to move and punch him like the world's largest punching bag. But a single step had caused her to crumble like a jenga tower.
"Keep begging Ruby, I can't get enough of it. This is what you get for betraying me. Especially after all I've done for you." Apollo replied
Just as it seemed that her sister would meet her maker, she heard something flying into the area at high speed. Ruby turns around to see Raven flying towards Apollo.
Ruby's face became one of sheer happiness and relief as Raven safely zoomed past her.
"Yeah get him Raven!" She shouted
"I am the leader of all Branwen tribe members, even you Apollo!" Raven shouted as he tosses Yang aside with his tail like a piece of trash. He smiles, satisfied that she had finally grown a spine.
"Then please try your best to make ME bow before you! Ha!" Apollo responded, getting into a combat ready stance.
The entire building they had been one exploded as if on cue after Raven strikes him on his shoulder with Omen. He repositions himself, her blade having no effect. She then attempts to sever his head, only for it to snap in two upon touching his skin, not even leaving a small cut.
Raven's expression begins to reveal more touches of desperation as she punches him below his chin. She is meant with the same result as he only responds by giving her a cocky, smug smile.
She gasps at this, firing several ice blasts into his face as the brute aggressively power walks towards her.
"Raven!" Jaune said, appearing in front of her, his shield deployed as he continued on undeterred. He promptly smacks it and him aside with his tail. Apollo then levitates a few feet off the ground, grabbing Raven by the neck as he flies higher into the air, violently smashing her into the ground. It had formed into a massive crater.
He began to push her head deeper into the pavement, sadistically chuckling as he heard her bones breaking.
"You feel it now Raven? All of your past mistakes, your greatest failures and darkest deeds coming to light? Splendid. I've spent all of my life dreaming of the day I'd make you crawl. I am a monument to all your sins. But now, I see a weakling like you is not even worth killing." He said, laughing like a lunatic as flew back up into the air, looking at the ruins of the village.
He scanned the area, looking for anyone else to kill while he waited for one of them to somehow get up. Apollo knew that Team RWBY would never go down this easily. The most stubborn four girls he had met.
After seeing them all still on the ground and utterly unable to move from his beatings he settles on killing Yang first, as he had been interrupted.
He flies to where she is lying, landing right in front of her.
"C'mon get up, it's no fun if you're not squirming." Apollo said, his hand opened and in her direction. It began to gradually light up with blue energy.
Slowly but surely Yang got on her feet. She raised her fists up, her face bloodied and her body covered in large yellow and purple bruises. Her eyes flared that blood red once more as her hair burst upwards in flame.
"Yes! Looks like Yang Xiao Long is back for more! That's what I'm talking about! Your pig of a mother could learn a thing or two from you." Apollo said as she lunges at him
They each trade rapid punches at one another, him keeping up with her speed as he breaches her defense, delivering a hefty kick to her stomach that breaks her remaining Aura.
"It's quite a shame really. If you and your friends had just joined me you wouldn't have had to experience this misery." He said to her
"Apollo!" Ruby's voice shouted as he was about to finish Yang.
He turns his head over to look at her walking up to him. Blood ran down her face from a small cut on her forehead, her outfit damaged around her leggings and small areas of her shirt. Despite having lost Crescent Rose, she had shown no hint of fear as she stared him down.
"You welp, shoulda figured you'd be the last one standing." Apollo said, sounding unsurprised as she continued on, ready to fight to the death.
