Okay, I know that at the start of this fic I said I wasn't taking it very seriously. But it has grown on me.

I still plan on it to be no longer than 15 chapters though...

Enjoy.

Krazy Kats and KuoKuana (Part One)

If I thought dinner was tense last night, then this morning was unbelievably more so.

While we all waited for Blake to come back from the ship's medical bay with the news, Nora had taken Pyrrha back to their cabin consoling my poor partner, I anxiously paced back and forth in my cabin, Ren was sitting on his bed, silently watching me, and Ruby was busy making sure Bleiss and Yang didn't have nuclear meltdowns.

Coco, Fox, and Yatsu were still looking for Velvet (who was still missing) after she burst into tears in the aftermath of Ruby's question at dinner.

I don't really know what I was hoping for.

I don't really know if I was even ready for a kid. Adrian was one thing, sure, but he was artificially inseminated despite popular popular belief. And my sister's wishes... But that's besides the point!

Part of me was logically worried about the prospect of fatherhood. What if Blake IS pregnant? What will we do? How will this affect our time in Beacon? What if we get kicked out?

Well... At least I'm a millionaire now. That will definitely help Blake and I get started with our lives if it comes down to it.

I never even wanted to be a Huntsman in the first place, I'm a farmer and woodworker by trade. If anything, our largest concern will be where to settle down.

A million more thoughts and questions zipped around in my head during those agonizing minutes.

Granted, a lot of those questions hinged on whether or not Blake's dad kills me for knocking up his daughter that he hasn't seen in five or six years.

Oh crap, that's today!

It would be roughly another two more hours before we would be allowed off the ship to see the local area. Maybe I could pretend to feel seasick so I could just stay on board?

No.

I need to see this through. But first, I should get at least one of my affairs in order.

"Ren?" I start.

"Yes?"

"If Blake is pregnant, I want you to be the godfather."

He looked surprised.

"Really?"

I nodded.

"Yes. You're like a brother to me. And, out of all of our friends, you're the most stable and probably the only one capable of making good life decisions," I explained.

He raised an eyebrow.

"Thank... You?"

"Plus, I'm sure Nora would love the idea of being a godmother," I added.

"Jaune, Nora and I aren't like that."

I rolled my eyes playfully.

'Still in denial, huh?'

"Sure you're not..." I teased, grateful for the distraction I was being provided with.

Ren's face took a more serious look as did his voice.

"I'm serious. Nora's like a sister to me, and I'm a brother to her," he said.

He had my attention now, but I wasn't buying it just yet. Then again, now that I thought about it, their relationship looked very similar to the one I have with one of my younger sisters named Joan.

"Is that so?"

"Jaune, I'm ace," Ren admitted. "And even if I weren't, I'm not exactly Nora's type."

Oh. Oh wow... Okay... That... Certainly explains a lot on Ren's side. But what was this about Nora having a type?

"Wait, Nora has a type?" I asked.

"I think I've said too much," Ren admitted.

"It can't be that bad..." I said, trying to get more out of my team's own ninja.

"Might as well..." Ren muttered after a moment.

"Blondes."

What?

"What?"

Ren sighed before elaborating.

"Nora likes blondes. Particularly ones that are strong and are of the more 'stable' variety."

"Oh, so I'm guessing she might like Sun?" I tried.

With Nora having been apparently shipping me with Yang, there weren't many other options for her that I was aware of and Prof. Goodwitch was probably out.

Ren winced.

"Not really. Nora already had her eyes elsewhere by the time Sun came along for the Vytal Festival." Ren said while giving me a pointed look.

"Hold up, that doesn't make any sense! You saw last night on her scroll she shipped Yang with me!"

"Jaune. This is Nora we're talking about. Not everything about her needs to make sense. But if I had to guess, it probably has to do with her lack of parental figures. Out of both of our teams, Nora's the only one of us to never have had a mother or father figure. Yang is sort of the 'Group Mom' while you are the 'Dad' so to speak. " Ren explained.

That kinda makes sense in a sad sort of way. It would also explain both Pyrrha and Bleiss's fixation on me.

One had a father who died when she was young, and the other had a rotten bastard for one.

Now I feel even worse about not catching on earlier.

Knock knock knock.

"I'll get it," I say as I was already standing.

When I opened the door, I was greeted by the sight of my wife (looks like she's gotten rid of her bow for good)with a sort of adorably timid expression.

/-Line Break-/

"Are you sure Bleiss and Pyrrha don't want to come?" I asked Nora and Ruby as both our teams minus the two mentioned prepared to leave the boat and visit Blake's hometown. Which also happened to be the capital of Menagerie. Which was also ruled by her parents.

The reality of the fact that I had married into what was basically the Faunus equivalent to royalty was only just now starting to sink in.

I really don't wanna be publicly executed.

"The fuck do you mean? Of course I wanna come!" I heard Bleiss's voice round a corner before catching up to us.

Sweet Dayfather why does everything have to be an innuendo with her?

Then I heard another voice, Pyrrha's, followed by a third. The missing Velvet.

"We're coming too!"

"Oh, okay. Um... What about the rest of your team, Velvet?" I ask.

"They're still sleeping," she answered.

"Alright, are you doing okay? You kinda went missing after dinner last night..." I was worried about her seeing as how after Pyrrha and Bleiss, she seemed to take the news of Blake and my marriage the hardest.

"I'm doing better now," she said.

"Okay, let's go. Blake? Where to first?" I turned towards my wife who was more or less acting as our tour guide.

"It's been a few years since I left, things are bound to have changed... Just stay close to me and DON'T wander off, my parents and the larger population at large might be okay with humans wandering around, but there's probably still going to be a few who aren't. If you're seen in my company, most will leave us alone."

"That makes sense," I agreed. "Alright, let's see what it's like out there."

/-Line Break-/

About thirty minutes later we had all gotten separated and now it was just Yang, Blake, and I.

'So much for staying together.'

I suppose it didn't matter in the end, when it came down to it they all could handle themselves.

Our little trio were at some kind of bazaar, with Yang and Blake checking our some hand-woven dresses while I hung back.

That was when I heard a familiar voice I hadn't heard since the Breach.

"Jaune?"

I turned around to see a young woman around the same age as myself with light mocha colored skin and dark brown hair.

"Oh hi, Ilia! Didn't expect to see you here! How are you doing?" I greeted her.

This is Ilia Amitola, a chameleon faunus I met in Vale a few weeks after the start of my first year at Beacon. Like Blake, she's former White Fang. Ilia left the terrorist organization after seeing first hand the destruction and suffering it caused to both humans and faunus during the Breach.

"I-I could say the same for you," she replied, stammering in her usual way. "What are you doing here? Oh- I'm good by the way."

"That's good to hear, and I'm just sightseeing. Won a free cruise trip and this was the next stop," I shrugged.

Her gray eyes lit up at that.

"R-really? That's great! Say, I know some nice spots and I could maybe show you around?" She offered.

"Thanks for the offer, but I've already got a guide..." I say, gesturing to my approaching wife and her partner.

They both had bundles of fabric in their carry-on bags.

"Blake!"

Ilia's face adopted a surprised look and her skin flushed violet in surprise.

Blake's face was one of surprise as well.

"Ilia!"

"You two know each other?" Yang asked.

"We were friends... Back before I left the White Fang," Blake answered before turning to me with her own question.

"How do you two know each other?" She asked.

"He saved me from some thugs in Vale last year," Ilia answered for me.

"Yeah, that sounds like him," Blake deadpanned.

"I'm right here."

"So how do you two know each other? Are you three teammates?" Ilia asked.

"Yang is. She's my partner."

"'Sup?" Said blonde greeted with a peace sign.

"Jaune's my husband," Blake continued.

At the word 'husband' Ilia's polite smile started looking more plastic as her skin flashed green for a moment before returning to normal.

"Oh-umm... Congratulations... How long have you two been together?" She asked.

Blake took my hand in hers.

"We met at Beacon during Initiation. We just got married the day before yesterday, so you could call this trip our honeymoon," my wife explained.

"Is that so?" Ilia turned to give me a hug. "I'm happy for you, but I really should be going. I just remembered there's something I need to do. I hope to see you soon. We can catch up!"

She then let go of me and sped off into the crowd.

That was... Awkward...

"Quite a busybody, isn't she? Still, I'm glad you had a friend like her around during your time in the Fang. She's quite nice, and very passionate about what she does," I tell Blake. And I meant it too.

"She is..." Blake agreed.

"Um... Blake? Jaune? It looks like someone else wants to talk with us..." Yang announced, pointing in another direction.

I could hear a voice rapidly getting louder and louder as Blake and I looked to see where Yang was pointing.

Fast approaching, was a maniacally grinning older woman with cat ears and golden eyes charging right at us.

"--aaaaaAAAAAKE!!!!"

"Mom!?!"

Wapumf!!!

The faunus woman, now identified ad Blake's mother, had launched herself into Blake and was crying tears of joy at her reunion with her long lost daughter in the streets of Kuo Kuana.

Yang and I watched as Blake struggled with my Mother-in-law's death grip for a moment before I spoke up to my fellow blonde.

"Should we... Help her?" I asked. Blake was starting to turn a little blue.

"Give it a minute. This is what she gets for stabbing me in the back." Yang answered, taking satisfaction in her partner's suffering.

"Stabbing...?" I wondered aloud under my breath before remembering last night.

Okay, Yang's still feeling a bit bitter, I guess these things take time...

We waited another moment...

"Okay, now we can help her," Yang said. "You get Blake, and I'll get her mom."

With a lot more effort than either of us expected, we finally rescued my wife from the clutches of her mother.

"Thank... You..." Blake gasped between breaths while color returned to her face.

She then directed her attention towards her mother with a shy look.

"Hi Mom... It's been a while..." She greeted.

"Oh Blake, your father and I have been so worried about you!" Mrs. Belladonna said.

"I'm so sorry... I thought you and Dad had given up, and I was so angry... I-"

Blake was cut off by her mother.

"Don't worry about it. What matters is your home. Safe and sound..." Mrs. Belladonna consoled as she hugged her daughter. Much more tenderly this time.

Blake returned the hug.

"Where's Dad? Is he doing okay?" Blake asked in a worried tone.

"Your father's fine. He's back at the house right now, I'm sure he'll be thrilled to see you again!" Blake's mother assured.

Then she spied Yang and I off to the side as Blake pulled back from her mother's embrace and moved to introduce us.

"This is Yang, my partner at Beacon. The rest of my team is wandering around town, we're all here on a cruise," Blake explained.

"What's up?"

"Oh that's nice," the older faunus said before turning to me while leaning towards her daughter with a sly grin.

"So who's this then? Your boyfriend?" She teased.

The younger faunus took it in stride.

"Husband, actually... This is Jaune, the Hero of Vale," Blake corrected with pride as she puffed out her chest and held up her wedding ring.

"It's nice to meet you Mrs. Belladonna," I nervously greeted.

"Oh my goodness! How long have you two been together? How did you meet my daughter? When can I expect grandbabies?" Mrs. Belladonna grilled me excitedly.

Uh-oh... I've got a bad feeling about this...

AND SCENE!!!

Sorry for the lateness on this update. This chapter has been a bit of a struggle for me so I've decided to make it a two parter.

Next up, we'll see Ghira.

I promise.

In the meantime, I, in all my infinite wisdom, have accidentally deleted all my work on the first chapter I was telling you guys about. So I will have to start over.

Great...

Ciao!
