Chapter 2- 2016

It had been one year since they'd arrived on this earth, and thankfully, the Senshi had adjusted. They'd passed their high school entrance exams, and, as such, had entered high school. One of the group's two blondes, Usagi, made her way down the street. Wearing the uniform North Shima high school had as standard. Black, with a red ribbon, and blue skirt. The day was relatively calm, with the people who lived in the town making their way to their respective workplaces, schools, and wherever, without much fuss. There were some features of this world that befuddled her, and the rest of her friends, but it wasn't exactly something they could do anything about. It was populated by other people, and there were some things recognizable to them, but… It was still bizarre in many ways. The question of how they would get back home was raised a few times, but it was ultimately an answer that she hadn't found, she'd only hoped things were going good back in her home.

"Usagi!" The calling of her name snapped the woman out of her stupor, and she looked to see Minako, Rei, Makoto, and Ami approaching her. The source of the call itself, being the waving Minako.

"Hey, You guys!" In a short time, they were close to each other.

"Looks like you managed to get up early, for once.." Rei commented, leading to the blonde rubbing the back of her head, apparently with no response but a chuckle. Acknowledging that she wasn't exactly wrong. Their conversation as they made their way to school was as pleasant as it'd usually been. Though, the one who eventually broke it up for a different subject, was Minako.

"Have you all heard? It looks like those two guys fought again last night." She noted.

"You mean Corde-San and Hashimoto-San?" Ami questioned.

"I'm not surprised… I know they said they fought each other a lot… But I thought they were just exaggerating." Minako responded. A frown made it's way to Rei's face, as she looked up to the sky.

"Idiots, the both of them… And we have to go to school with one, at that. If it's not him, it's that Gouto teacher." A response that was not exactly unexpected.

"To be fair, one of them's the son of a Yakuza, which is hardly a normal upbringing, and the other is an Enigma, who knows what he was doing before he moved here." Ami stated. It was a fair point. Usagi pulled out her holo-phone, tapping the side, and bringing up the display. Her attention eventually went toward something interesting, a new jewelry shop that had opened in the area. Which was as expensive as one might've expected. But, it was more than enough for her to get excited over. In no short time, she slid over to Minako, showing her the screen. No doubt leading to the same giddy expression on hers.

The conversation about the two had drifted off, and soon enough, they'd returned to their normal conversation. Though it didn't take long for another distraction to appear, in the form of the mentioned man himself, going about his usual antics. The tall, dark-skinned youth was himself close to a chestnut haired girl, who's face only reached his chest, One who was known to be in his presence quite a bit, Asami Hoshi.

"Watch where you're going, Corde!"

"Oh man... here we go again. Watch, where I'M going? You were the one who bumped into ME."

The man leaned into her face, though the reason why couldn't be seen from their distance.

""And why are you blushing? You're the one who decided to stay that close."

"What! No, I didn't. What makes you think I'd want to touch somebody like you?!"

"Your actions...What else?"

Aside from this, was one of Arctaius' partners in crime, Sasaki Yudei. Who watched the exchange as if it were a regular occurance. The same occurred with Satomi Tanabe, the raven-haired third year who was with them occasionally. Eventually, Rei decided to begin walking off, ignoring this.

"I don't get the point of this… It's not like everyone doesn't already know… Except for them, apparently." She stated. Apparently, the rest decided to follow suit, after all, they weren't that far from the school itself. But, there was something that none of them realized was in the area. A man looming above, on one of the roof's of the buildings. Though he took note of the senshi, given he didn't detect any protomis from them, they were of no interest to him. Only the one he was ordered to observe, Arctaius corde. Classes went about as normal as ever, as did what happened after. Though they were the best of friends, it seems they'd decided to go about their own activities for now.

Ami Mizuno found herself with Yoshida Shinto. Who, notably, was one of the three boys who the one known as Arctaius was close with, and the son of a politician. The heavier built, bespectacled boy shared much in common with Ami. Their interest in academics being one thing. Though he focused more on the political, and history. As he himself wanted to become like his father. They sat within the library, studying and discussing the subjects of the books.

"So… The collapse of the Yantzan Empire's Karuki Dynasty can be linked back to the succession crisis, between Prince Iwah "The Vanquisher" and Prince Ngyuemu "The Valorous"" Ami concluded, gaining a nod from shinto,

"Indeed. The king's unexpected death without choosing a heir, and two princes with a strong dislike for each other was bound to cause issues… A shame, they could have been a powerful force if they worked together. They were high-tiered proto-humans, after all. The damage seen along the Niger river and the creation of the Crater Lake Banguri are proof of this." Shinto responded.

"Then what would the implications of the two working together be in the long run? Would the Dynastic Cycle have even begun? Could we see a modern imperial Family, rather than the West African Federation?" Ami questioned.

"Perhaps, Perhaps… But the tensions between the many groups that had been incorporated that rapidly at the time were an issue, it was a quickly growing emp-"

"Yo, Shinto!" Their conversation was interrupted by the entrance of a bubbly, red-haired youth, with a smile on his face.

"What is it, Akashi?" He questioned.

"Me and Yudei were planning on catching up with Arctaius, you up for it?" Shinto sat in silence for some time, pondering this decision.

"He has been quite distant lately… Mizuno-San. I'll have to end this a bit early, if that's fine."

She nodded.

"We all have things we have to handle." She wasn't upset about it, which was a good thing. Shinto stood from his seat, closing his book, and placing it back into his bag.

"Alright, then. Goodbye for now." As the bluenette watched the man exit the room, some part of her found herself questioning how she felt about him. She enjoyed his company, there was no doubt about that, but anything beyond that, she was drawing a blank. Perhaps she would just have to see how things went. Elsewhere, Usagi and Minako had decided to go to the shop they'd intended, while Makoto had returned to their shared home, and begun cooking a meal. Some of which she was still unfamiliar with. Apparently, Yamato had absorbed more foreign cuisine into their own than their own Japan had. Something she'd benefited from, without a doubt. That only meant more recipes to add to her repertoire.

The senshi found this world to be quite peaceful, where they lived, at least. Though this may have not been the truth were they sent here 2 years before they had. And despite their advanced technology, they were living normal lives. Even if they wanted to go back to their own world, and dreamed of such a thing often. Which was of no surprise, given that was where their family, and old friends were. But, their lives and psyche had become intertwined with this earth. But whether they managed to live here was one thing. Whether this status quo would be maintained, was another.

A/N:

Still trying the best I can with this, and I hope I characterized the Senshi right. They may not fit into the world perfectly given the differences, but I'll at least try to make them involved. Though they interact with the main cast a lot, I plan on giving them their own path once things kick off. Instead of just a rehash with the senshi involved.
