Everybody who was close to Tyson knew he was a happy, easy-going guy. He didn't take himself too seriously (or anything else, really, unless it was a Bey battle or training for a Bey battle) and he liked to joke around. He thought pranks were funny, even now as a young adult. Tyson was always helping out others and made friends with just about everyone he came across.

That's why it was so surprising that Tyson Granger, of all people, had a pretty intense jealousy streak.

It was a rare sight for people around him, which, when compounded with his personality, made it that much more astonishing. In fact, Tyson really only got insanely jealous over one thing.

Or, rather, one person.

One girl.

One Bladebreakers Manager.

One Hilary.

It had taken Tyson a while to realize Hilary liked him, and that he liked her too. But even before he'd come to that conclusion, he'd had a habit of getting jealous when Hilary would talk fondly of other guys, or get a little too close to them. Tyson never recognized it as jealousy. But the people around him did. And it was intriguing to them.

Kenny was the first person to notice that Tyson had that habit. It was several years before, when they were in Hong Kong for the Asia Cup Beyblading Tournament, and a special guest to attend the event happened to be none other than the famous Chinese superstar, Hong Tao. And of course, it was no surprise that the Bladebreakers had emerged victorious so naturally, the actor wanted a picture with the Bladebreakers for his silly publicity. And a couple of shots later, a certain brunette on the team became the actor's center of attention and his subject of flirting…Hilary was flattered, but she hadn't been able to say anything about that before Tyson suddenly became huffy and sneered:

"Why don't you go see if the Thong Tao can get a role in his crappy action movies?"

Hilary hadn't been affected at all by the comment, and simply responded that she only cared about the Bladebreakers. After that, Tyson dropped the subject…and the attitude. Kenny, however, was not about to let it go so easily.

As the two boys sat next to each other on their flight, actually Kenny had to request Hilary to let him sit by Tyson excusing some important matter. And while she happily obliged, Kenny decided to try his luck and inquire about the prior incident that took in the ceremonies.

"Hey Tyson," Kenny prodded, glancing over at the younger male. Tyson looked towards him to show he was listening. "What was up with you before?"

Tyson blinked. "What do you mean?"

"Well, you seemed a little…upset over the idea of that actor getting closer to Hilary," Kenny explained.

"Oh, that," Tyson scoffed. "It was nothing! I just think it's kinda silly to make such a big deal over famous people."

"Except Hilary didn't care about him," Kenny continued, arching an eyebrow. "You were annoyed before she even said that."

"I wasn't annoyed," Tyson calmly argued, knitting his brows.

"Could've fooled me," Kenny mumbled, folding his arms across his chest. He knew he wasn't going to get anything out of this conversation, so he decided to just drop it.

But now Tyson was confused, and he wanted answers. He was not going to drop the topic so easily. "Why'd you think I was annoyed?"

"Because you sounded annoyed," Kenny answered plainly. "I just kind of thought…never mind."

"Wait, what'd you think?" Tyson pressed.

Kenny sucked in a breath before admitting, "I thought you might be jealous."

"Jealous?" Tyson repeated. "Why would I be jealous?"

Kenny resisted the urge to smack his own face. Tyson was too dense for his own good. "Because another guy was pursuing Hilary. A rich, famous guy who could have made her life in a snap of a finger. You were getting pretty antsy when they were laughing, maybe it seemed that Hilary was showing feelings towards Mr. Tao. Which, actually, she wasn't even doing. You just assumed that's what she was doing."

Tyson looked even more confused than before, which Kenny hadn't thought was possible. "I don't care what Hilary does. I mean, I do. But that's because she's my friend! She easily trusting and would be hurt because of that. But I wouldn't tell her what to do or get upset over what she chooses to do, though. That'd be weird!"

"Oh, okay," Kenny breathed, lulling Tyson into a sense of false security. "So, if Hilary was interested in a guy, you wouldn't mind?"

Tyson pulled back. He suddenly didn't seem so sure of himself. "…no, I wouldn't."

"Really?" Kenny pressed.

"Yeah," Tyson grumbled, looking back towards Hilary peacefully listening to the music that drummed in her ears.

Kenny scoffed, quietly so Tyson couldn't hear it, and glanced in the same direction as him.

That's a lie if I ever heard one.

Eight years later, Tyson and Kenny found themselves in a very similar position. Only this time, Tyson was definitely jealous.

Hilary was standing just a few feet away, talking and laughing with some random guy who neither Kenny nor Tyson had ever seen before. Kenny didn't think the guy was anything special, but Tyson had been rambling on and on about it, and Kenny had no choice but to listen and try to reassure his best friend that it was no big deal.

"I mean, who does that guy think he is?" Tyson stressed, folding his arms.

"Don't know," Kenny muttered, his elbow resting on his knee and his head propped up in his hand.

"Everyone knows Hilary has a boyfriend, and it's me!" Tyson carried on, unfurling his arms so he could throw them around. "Don't you think it's kind of rude for all these random guys to just start flirting with her?"

"Well, Hilary doesn't seem to mind it," Kenny noted.

"Because she knows it drives me crazy!" Tyson exclaimed.

"That's kind of funny, I can't disagree there," Kenny snickered.

"Kenny!" Tyson whined.

"What? It's just so Hilary!" Kenny chuckled.

Hilary and the stranger were soon bidding farewell, which culminated in a hug. Tyson's face turned bright red, and he quickly whipped around so the other guy wouldn't see it as he left. As soon as Tyson heard the building's automatic doors close, he glanced back up, locking eyes with a contended Hilary. As soon as she saw Tyson's face, however, she became confused.

"What's wrong?" Hilary asked innocently.

Tyson was floored by the question. "What's wrong?! Hilary, a guy was flirting with you right in front of me!"

"What?" Hilary deadpanned.

"You heard me," Tyson grumbled.

"He wasn't flirting with me!" Hilary refuted with a laugh.

"Oh yeah?" Tyson bit. "Then what was with all that smiling and laughing? And that hug?!"

"Tyson, chill out," Hilary sighed, growing bored of their little back-and-forth. "He just a guy I know from college, that's all."

"Seemed a little too friendly for just a guy you know from college!" Tyson grumbled.

"Okay, fine, he's a little more than just a colleague," Hilary admitted, bringing horror to Tyson's face. "His name is Barry, and he's lived in the neighbourhood before moving to England. I've known him since he was just a little kid. He's finally come back to start his residency in Tokyo. So that's why it looked so friendly; because he's a friend."

"Oh…" Tyson murmured, suddenly feeling pretty embarrassed. This was obvious to both Kenny and Hilary, who exchanged knowing glances.

"Told you it was no big deal," Kenny commented, sitting up straight.

Tyson narrowed his eyes at the older male. "You never told me that."

"I didn't?" Kenny questioned, scratching his chin. "Huh, guess I just said it in my head repeatedly."

"Don't worry about it, Kenny," Hilary sighed. "Tyson just needs to learn to not be so jealous, that's all."

Tyson let out a short laugh, unnerving his girlfriend. "Is that a joke? You're just as bad as me, if not worse!"

Hilary's mouth dropped open. "I am not!"

"Yes you are!" Tyson argued. "Every time a girl who's just a fan of mine comes up to me you start freaking out!"

"Yeah, because they always put their hands all over you without fail!" Hilary cried. "How am I supposed to react when a girl starts hanging off your arm like her life depends on it?"

"Okay, so me being upset when another guy hugs you is any different?" Tyson challenged.

"It is when the other guy is someone I actually know!" Hilary bit. "And not for nothing, but there's a huge difference between a friendly hug and an over-the-top caress of a body part."

Kenny sighed as the couple carried on with their argument. Scooping up the laptop, Kenny got to his feet, sliding his laptop under his arm. "I'm gonna go somewhere a little quieter." Kenny informed the shouting couple over his shoulder as he started to walk away. He was almost positive they couldn't hear him, but he figured it was courteous to at least attempt to let them know. "Unless, you know, you two decide to make up the way you normally do. In which case I'll be back much later."

Surprisingly, enough, Tyson and Hilary had managed to hear Kenny's last comment, and that had been enough to cease the arguing. They were both now red in the face again, albeit for a much different reason.

"Do we really make up like that that much?" Tyson whispered. "And with Kenny around?"

"…yeah," Hilary begrudgingly admitted. "Unfortunately."

"Yikes," Tyson muttered. "Maybe we should try and get all this jealousy under control."

Hilary tilted her head from side-to-side before scuffing the toe of her sneaker against the floor, folding her hands behind her back. "Or we could, you know, just…make up."

Tyson appeared stunned for a moment before melting into a mischievous smile and reaching out to grab Hilary by the waist and pulling her against him.

"You're right. That's a way better idea."
