Hello, fellow Trainers and Hunters. Centurion Maximo here and welcome back to Rwby: Remnant's Trainers. In the last chapter, Weiss gained her very first friend with the penguin Pokemon: Piplup. The two even beat three Team Galactic Grunts and of course, Weiss hides Piplup from her father: Jacques. So that's three of the flashback chapters done.

*Menagerie. Menagerie Jungle. 17:21 pm*

Blake Belladonna. Age 10*

Blake was walking through the jungle with her parent's permission. This jungle made sure that none of the faunus on the island ever starved. Unfortunately, there was still the White Fang moving around and she was involved despite her parent's protests. Suddenly, her cat ears picked up soft crying. She moved to the source. What she found was a roughly five-year old pale-skinned child with black hair ending with red tips, a pair of fox ears, and turquoise eyes wearing a small black jacket with black and red shoes. "Who are you?" The child didn't say anything and hung his head down as he wrote his name in the dirt. "Zorua. That's a nice name. Where are you from?"

The child began to tear up at Blake's second question. "Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to upset you." Blake took Zorua's hands in hers. Zorua smiled at this. "I've gotta go now. Goodbye." When Blake started walking in the direction back to her home, Zorua was following her. "What are you doing?" She asked suspiciously.

Zorua cutely tilted his head as if not understanding the cat faunus's question. "I mean, why are you following me?" Zorua still didn't respond and walked closer to Blake. Sighing, she relented. "Alright. Come on." Zorua jumped up, making Blake smile at how cute this child was being.

*Menagerie. Belladonna Household. 17:50 pm*

It took about a half-hour to get back to her house, but she was surprised and happy that Zorua managed to keep up with her on the short trek back. "Mom, Dad, I'm home!"

"Little Kitten!" Kali smiled, giving her daughter a tight hug.

"M-Mom!" Blake gasped from her mother's grip before she let her go.

Kali then noticed Zorua standing shyly a few feet behind Blake. "Blake, who's this cutie?" She asked.

"This is Zorua." Blake smiled. "Zorua, this is my mother." Zorua, however, ran and hid behind one of the house plants, peeking out nervously. "It's okay, Zorua. She won't hurt you." Zorua moved from his hiding spot slowly.

"Oh, you poor little thing." Kali scooped Zorua up, making him squeak in surprise. "You must be starving." Kali moved to the living room and sat on the couch, Blake sitting beside her. "Ghira!"

"What's going on?" Ghira walked into the living room when he saw his wife cradling Zorua and his daughter sitting beside her. 'Who is that?"

"Zorua. Blake found him in the jungle and he followed her home. Poor thing." Kali ran her hand through Zorua's hair which he found to be enjoying.

"Hmmm… Looks to be a fox faunus." Ghira guessed. "How long was he out there?"

"We don't know." Blake shrugged. "He doesn't speak."

"Oh, is that true?" Kali looked at Zorua who nodded with a sad expression. "Oh, god!" This made Kali hug the child a little tighter.

Suddenly, Zorua's eyes flicked back and forth and he squirmed in Kali's arms, causing her to put him down. Then, he ran outside when he saw a couple of wild Poochyena growling at him. "Chyena!" Both of the Poochyena barked and ran towards the child who dodged their Tackle attacks.

"Zorua!" Blake yelled in panic as she saw him get knocked down. As she ran towards him, her scroll fell out of her pocket and triggered a scanner directed at Zorua. Then, its color changed to black. "Zorua! Are you okay?!" However, the child disappeared and in his place was a tricky fox Pokemon. "You're a Pokemon?!"

"Zorua!" Zorua whined, turning his head away from the cat faunus who softly turned it back to her.

"Hey, I'll still take care of you." Blake smiled.

"Zor!" Zorua stuck his tongue out for a minute while Blake went to retrieve her scroll, noticing the differences. Zorua poked his nose on the move option.

Blake and Zorua stood together, ready to face down the two Poochyena. "Zorua, how about a Scratch?" Zorua ran to the first Poochyena and scratched it with his retractable claws, barely managing to evade the second Poochyena's Tackle. "Alright. Scratch on that second one!" Zorua did the same thing, but the second Poochyena dodged and tackled Zorua, knocking him back a couple of feet. "Zorua!"

Meanwhile, Blake's parents were watching the battle. "Oh, dear. Wild Pokemon appearing so close to our house." Kali sighed.

"And there's our daughter and Zorua fighting them off." Ghira smiled.

Kali's eyes perked up. "Wait. That little thing is Zorua?" Her eyes suddenly became hearts. "He's even cuter than before!"

"Honey, please." Ghira sweatdropped.

Back with Blake, her and Zorua had taken out the first Poochyena and could now focus on the second. "Scratch, Zorua!" Zorus jumped up, evading another Tackle and scratched Poochyena in the back, bringing it down for a moment before the two retreated back into the jungle. "Good job, Zorua."

"Zorua!" Zorua ran around her new trainer and the two went back to the house where her parents were waiting.

"You never told me this cutie was a Pokemon." Kali lightly squealed.

"I honestly didn't know." Blake admitted.

"The two of you clearly make a good team." Ghira complimented.

"Thanks, Dad." Blake smiled.

"Zor!" Zorua ran to Ghira and rubbed himself against his leg. The mountain of a man picked him up and smiled.

"Thank you for helping my little kitten." Ghira said.

"Zorua!" Zorua barked happily.

"I think he's saying he's happy to be part of our family." Blake guessed.

"Of course, you're welcome with us!" Kali took Zorua from her husband and cuddled him, and the tricky fox pokemon nuzzled her cheek, happy to find family with the Belladonnas.

Hello, everyone. I hope you all liked the fourth flashback chapter of Rwby: Remnant's Trainers. Blake gets her Pokemon: Zorua and brings him home. Though, when Blake first meets Zorua, he'd taken the appearance of a five-year old child to try and hide his true form. We also meet Blake's parents: Kali and Ghira early in this story. Now, at the end of the chapter, Zorua, despite being a Pokemon, considers the Belladonnas as his family.

Now, for why Menagerie is vastly different from the one we know, it will be explained much later down the line in the story.

Fun fact: Zorua is absolutely one of my all-time favorite Pokemon that came out of Gen 5.
