While Luz was doing her thing in the demon realm, in the human realm, Camila was cooking lunch. She reached into the boiling water and pulled out a lobster from the pot.
"No pain from boiling water, just one of the perks of being part Titan." Camila said.
Vee came sliding down the stair railing.
"Bye Mom, I'm going to meet Masha at the mall." Vee said.
"Okay, Vee, be safe. And don't do anything I wouldn't do." Camila said, teasing Vee.
"Mom! Don't be gross, we're not there yet!" Vee said with a blush.
"Oh but you will be one day." Camila said with a grin.
Vee groaned and blushed as she left the house.
'Dang it, mom! Don't put those thoughts in my head! I might do something drastic out of embarrassment! ' Vee thought.
The town had changed a bit since... HE happened. People became much more suspect of the supernatural. They didn't know witches and demons to the full extent, they just knew they were there. As long as none of them attacked each other, everyone seemed to just ignore it for the most part... except one person... Tracey. Ever since she was possessed by Belos, she had scars covering her, people always asked what it was like to be possessed, and she would always shut down and stop talking. Vee sure as hell didn't like her, but even she thought that Tracey had been through something that Vee didn't wish on her worst enemy... ironically done by her worst enemy.
'Is this how Luz felt when she befriended Amity? Not that I plan to romantically pursue Tracey, I already have Masha.' Vee thought as she walked through town. 'Also, I think she's aromantic, so we wouldn't get far anyway.'
Vee continued her way down town, taking in all of the sights of the town.
She stopped at the statue of the Wittebane brothers, glaring at Philip.
"I hope you're rotting in hell where you belong." Vee said before she spat on Philip. "The only good thing you did was bringing me to life."
"I'll agree to that." Masha said, hugging Vee from behind.
Vee giggled as she melted into the hug, happy to have her non-bifriend here with her.
"I hope I'm not late." Masha said, kissing Vee's left cheek.
"Nope, you're right in time." Vee said, blushing and smiling.
The two held hands and walked to the mall.
"So, how's the fam been?" Masha asked.
"Crazy." Vee said with a smile, "Just the way I like it."
"I'm jealous. Especially since your mom is now magic like you told me." Masha said, a little jealous.
"I know but don't worry. I'm still trying to see if I can get you a palisman for your birthday." Vee said to them.
"I told you, you don't have to do that, it's a rare thing, and I don't want to take one from someone that deserves it." Masha said, shaking her head. "Besides, I don't know magic... though, Oracle magic is pretty cool."
"Okay, fine. No palisman but I will get you a genuine crystal ball from the demon realm." Vee said as they walked past an occult shop.
"You know me so well." Masha said before kissing Vee on the cheek.
They walked into the occult shop, which has turned into a very popular spot since HIS rampage at school. The place was always busy after that.
"How much for this pentagram charm?" A boy asked the cashier.
"2 dollars. You want some blessed rock salt with that?" The cashier asked, holding up a vile of rock salt. "Helps ward off demonic spirits if you summon them."
'There is no way that is really blessed rock salt.' Masha thought before they and Vee looked around.
Even if all this stuff was fake, it was still nice to look around the store.
"Anything catch your eye?" Masha asked.
"Aside from the cool figures?" Vee asked, holding up a fallen angel figurine.
"Yes, aside from those." Masha said before holding up a necklace. "I for one do like the jewelry and some of the occult books are sort of believable."
Vee heard the door open and looked. The glasses and hoodie might keep others from seeing her, but she knew that scarred face.
"Hey, Tracey just walked in." Vee whispered.
"Get out, for real?" Masha whispered in surprise, looking towards the disguised girl.
Most people hadn't seen Tracey in public since the incident at school, only ever coming to school and cheer practice. After that, she didn't even hang out with her friends in public because of the constant questioning. She always covered her head with either sunglasses and a black hoodie, or with makeup to hide her scars. Vee knew she felt like a freak, and against her better judgement... Vee wanted to help.
