Hello, fellow Trainers and Hunters. Centurion Maximo here and welcome back to Rwby: Remnant's Trainers. In the last chapter, Ruby, Yang, and Summer have arrived at Beacon with Jaune, Weiss, and Blake. Also, Summer and Glynda have a cute hug, with Giratina watching and happy that his friend is back with her family.

*Beacon. Beacon Locker Room. 8:00 am*
After everyone had gotten up, they made their way to the locker rooms to collect their gear, though Nora tried to follow Ren into the men's room. "So, you're awfully chipper this morning." Yang raised an eyebrow while grabbing her gauntlets.
"Yep." Ruby smiled, popping the p. "No more awkward small talk or getting to know you stuff. Today, I get to let my sweetheart do the talking." Ruby began to hug and stroke Crescent Rose.
Lillipup!" Rosebud barked.
"Oh, you're my sweetheart too, Rosebud." Ruby knelt down and rubbed Rosebud's head.
"Well, remember, Ruby. You're not the only one going through initiation." Yang reminded. "If you wanna grow up, you're gonna have to meet new people and learn to work together."
"Ugh, you sound like Mom and Dad." Ruby rolled her eyes, picking up Rosebud in her other hand. "Okay, first of all, what does meeting new people have to do with fighting and Pokemon battling? Secondly, I don't need people to help me grow up, I drink milk."
"Okay, but what about when we form teams?" Yang asked.
"Charmander!" Johnny said in agreement.
"I don't know…" Ruby admitted. "I'll… uh… just be on your team or something."
"Maybe you should try being on someone else's team." Yang brought up.
Ruby glared at her sister, but it wasn't actually threatening, Rosebud copying her trainer. "My dear sister, are you implying that you don't want to be on the same team as me?" Yang tried to defuse the potential situation.
Meanwhile, Jaune was heading to his locker, only to see Weiss and Pyrrha standing and talking in front of it. Weiss's pride was getting the better of her, trying to convince Pyrrha to be on the same team as her. "I'm sure everyone must be eager to unite with such a strong, well known individual such as yourself."
"Piplup." Nicholas hit his face with his flipper.
Though, Pyrrha wasn't as enthusiastic as Weiss. "Hmm… I'm not quite sure. I was planning on letting the chips fall where they may."
"Bagon." Achilles growled lightly at Weiss.
"Well, I was thinking we could be on…" Weiss started until Nicholas stopped her. "What is it, Nicholas?"
"Piplup." Nicholas chirped.
"Excuse me, but you two are standing in front of my locker." Jaune cut in, Ace once again perched on his shoulder. He'd gotten used to Ace doing that.
"Oh, sorry." Pyrrha apologized, her and Achilles moving out of the way.
"Damn it, my plan is ruined!" Weiss's prideful side thought in irritation.
"Nice to meet you…" Pyrrha held out her hand.
"Jaune Arc." Jaune smiled, shaking her hand, though his breathing did hitch a tiny bit.
Weiss chose that moment to step in. "Jaune, is it? Do you have any idea who you're talking to?"
"Not really." Jaune admitted. "I've spent the majority of the time training, both myself and Ace here."
"This is Pyrrha Nikos." Weiss gestured.
"Hello again." Pyrrha said.
"Pyrrha graduated top of her class at Sanctum." Weiss stressed.
"Okay." Jaune shrugged.
Weiss scoffed in disbelief. "She's won the Mistral Tournament four years in a row! A new record!"
"So? Why should that matter to her as a person?" Jaune asked, making Pyrrha's eyes go wide.
Before Weiss could continue, Glynda's voice could be heard on the intercom. "Would all first-year Beacon students report to Beacon Cliff for initiation? Again, all first-year students report to Beacon Cliff immediately."
"Well, Jaune, it was nice meeting you, but it seems we have to go." Pyrrha said.
"Alright, then." Jaune said as he and Pyrrha walked out of the locker room.
Later, Summer and Glynda were watching from another cliff that was nearly opposite Beacon Cliff, their gaze mostly focusing on the eight with Pokemon. "Same old initiation." Glynda mused.
"Ozpin never really changed anything?" Summer asked.
"Not one bit." Glynda groaned.
"I have a feeling those eight aren't the only ones that will have Pokemon." Summer put a hand to her chin.
"Birdie, no!" Ruby called out as she flew into a small crow. Refocusing, she unslung Crescent Rose and fired a few shots to slow her and Rosebud down. Then, when they got close enough to a tree, she shifted Crescent Rose into its scythe form and caught a tree branch that she used to land softly on the ground. "You okay, Rosebud?"
"Lillipup!" Rosebud barked, reassuring Ruby.
"Good. Let's go." Ruby smiled as she and her Lillipup ran off. Looking up, they saw Yang shouting in glee as she and Johnny flew over their heads. Ruby sighed, but continued running, almost running into Weiss and Nicholas.
A moment of silence passed between the four until Weiss spoke up. "I guess we're partners now."
"Yep." Ruby said. "Which way is north? I actually got disoriented in the flight. Weiss was about to open her mouth, but closed it as she didn't really know, either.
However, Rosebud began sniffing for Yang and Johnny's scent. "Lillipup!"
Ruby smiled at her Pokemon. "Rosebud has my sister's scent!" She followed Rosebud as she started running. Weiss sighed as she picked up Nicholas and followed Ruby.
Meanwhile, Jaune brought out his sword and stabbed it into a tree, actually using it to slide down until he reached the ground. "How was that, Ace?"
"Ruff!" Ace nodded in approval.
"Nice landing." Pyrrha smiled as Jaune dusted himself off.
"Thanks. I've actually been practicing that one." Jaune smiled back. "Plus, I figured it would make Ace happy." He spotted Achilles. "Is that your Pokemon?"
"Yes, this is Achilles." Pyrrha picked him up.
"Bagon." Achilles said, who walked up to Ace. "Bagon?"
"Rufflet." Ace responded.
"Aww… They're friends." Pyrrha smiled. "So, shall we get going?"
"Let's." Jaune smiled back and the two walked off.
In another part of the forest, Yang and Johnny had finally landed. She quickly began calling out for her sister. "Heelllloooo? Is anybody out there?"
"Char!" Johnny exclaimed.
"You telling me we flew right over her head? Damn it!" The two heard sudden rustling in the bushes. She readied her gauntlets while Johnny got into a combative stance. "Who's there?" A pair of Ursai burst out of the bushes and roared at them. "Ready for this, Johnny?"
"Mander!" Johnny grinned as he hopped onto Yang's that, she shot herself back into the air. "Johnny, let's make a fireball!"
"Charmander!" Johnny jumped off of Yang and breathed fire at the two Grimm while the blonde fired a couple shots from Ember Celica directly in the center. The fireball made it's way down at the Ursai, consuming them in flames. The first one was reduced to nothing but ashes while the second one was weakened.
"Is that all you've got?!" Yang challenged after she and Johnny landed.
As the second Ursa roared, a kusarigama blade was suddenly sunk into it's head. It was revealed to be Blake and Shadow. "The entire forest probably saw that, you know." Blake said, resulting in Yang just shrugging.
Ren and Lotus stood in front of the King Taijitu that couldn't really lift it's other head at this point. He and his Pokemon were perfectly in sync. Just as he was about to finish it off, an electrical blast and a hammer slam defeated it. "Nora." Ren said as Nora and Thor hung from a tree branch.
"Boop." Nora tapped Ren's nose which made him smile lightly.
Later, everyone had made it to the temple, surprisingly without incident, though Nora, Ren, and their Pokemon appeared riding an Ursa until it crashed to the ground. "Aw, it broke." Nora whined.
"What?" Weiss muttered. The eight made their way to the temple where Jaune, Nora, Pyrrha, and Ren grabbed the white rook pieces while Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and Yang took the white knight pieces. However, a part of the temple caught their attention. It was a picture of a Pokemon not seen before. It looked like a phoenix. "What kind of Pokemon is that?"
"I don't know." Blake was wide-eyed at the artistry.
"It's beautiful." Yang whispered.
"You think we'll actually see this Pokemon, Renny?" Nora asked quietly for once. Ren didn't really have an answer.
Suddenly, a Nevermore made its presence known as it screeched and landed just outside the temple. "Ancient history will have to wait!" Ruby shouted as they turned to face the Nevermore. "Let's do this!" Yang and Johnny quickly provided cover fire with Nora and Thor while Blake, Shadow, Ren and Lotus got up close and hit the Grimm while it was distracted.
"Pyrrha, can Achilles distract the Nevermore so Ace can do what he's thinking?" Jaune asked.
"Of course, Jaune. Achilles, Ember attack!"
"Bagon!" Achilles ran towards the Nevermore and blasted it's left foot with Ember as well as bashing it with its rock hard head which allowed Ace to fly up, dive down, and peck one of its eyes out. The Nevermore screeched in great pain.
Everyone else was wide-eyed. "Did that Rufflet just…" Weiss couldn't finish her sentence.
"Piplup." Nicholas softly responded.
"I don't know why, but Ace loves to do that. It's like he knows the eyes are always a weak spot and goes straight for them." Jaune chuckled.
"Well, the good news is that it's partially blind on its right side." Ruby pointed out. "Nice, but we still need to take it down. Weiss, can you freeze it in place?"
"Of course I can." Weiss smirked as she did just that.
"Jaune, what do you think?" Ruby asked.
"Now that it's not moving, we can focus on bringing it down more." Jaune smiled. "Ren, can you and Lotus ground it?"
"Not without heavy backup." Ren admitted.
"Say no more, Renny!" Nora cheered. "Thor and I have you two covered!"
"Not without me and Johnny, you don't!" Yang grinned with her Charmander.
"Alright, then Pyrrha and Achilles, Weiss and Nicholas, Ruby and Rosebud, Ace and myself will get up close and finish it off." Jaune finished. With the game plan set, they set out to take the Nevermore down. Blake and Shadow took the left wing while Ren and Lotus took the other. They softened them up for Yang and Johnny, Nora and Thor took them out, truly leaving the Nevermore grounded.
Jaune and Ace, Weiss and Nicholas, Pyrrha and Achilles, Ruby and Rosebud made their way to the Grimm. Performing a flurry of attacks, they weakened it to the point where Ruby finished it off by taking off its head.
"Wow…" Nora breathed.
"Amazing…" Yang smiled in pride at her younger sister.
Meanwhile, Summer, Glynda, and Ozpin watched everything unfold and smiled. "Like I said, this will be an interesting year." Ozpin said, taking a sip of his coffee.
"Their Pokemon are something as well." Glynda admitted. "What do you think, Sorceress?"
"Magius!" Sorceress twirled lightly in agreement.
"My little girls did it." Summer breathed.
"Though, that painting at the temple they found..." Ozpin began thinking. "That warrants further investigation. Seems I'll have to talk with Oobleck."
Hello, everyone. I hope you all liked this chapter of Rwby: Remnant's Trainers. Well, initiation is over and Teams RWBY and JNPR are created, though things turn out differently. The eight see an ancient painting of Ho-oh, one of my all-time favorite Pokemon from Gen 2.
Lillipup is named Rosebud because Ruby finds the name adorable
Piplup is named Nicholas as Weiss's way of honoring her late grandfather
Zorua is named Shadow Zorua is pretty sneaky
Charmander is named Johnny as a nod to the Marvel antihero Johnny Blaze/Ghost Rider
Rufflet is named Ace as he's reckless and wants to prove himself like Jaune
Joltik is named Thor as an homage to the Norse God of Thunder
Bagon is named Achilles as an homage to one of her ancestors and a great Greek warrior that Pyrrha is based on
