Hello, fellow trainers. Centurion Maximo here and welcome back to Rwby: Remnant's Trainers. The last chapter had Professor Rowan talk about Teams Magma, Aqua, Plasma, and Rocket to the group in his classroom. This chapter also introduced Team Magma and its three admins: Tabitha, Courtney, and Blaise in a heated discussion. We also see an OC Team Magma operative named Ember Fawkes who is sent on a big mission in Slateport.

Now, it's actually time for some New Bonds with New Mons!
*Beacon Academy. Emerald Forest. Ruby, Jaune, and Velvet. 10:31 am*
The two teams plus Velvet were training against wild Pokemon as well as Grimm in the vicinity. Ace certainly liked the Grimm appearing as he clawed and pecked their eyes out which was admittedly still a little unnerving to the others. They decided to split into teams of two, but they decided to work with members of the opposite team. Jaune went with Ruby with Velvet and Thumper tagging along with them as she'd talked to those two the most. "Thanks for bringing me along." Velvet smiled, Thumper in her arms.
"Hey, no problem. You're our friend, Velvet." Ruby smiled, Rosebud and Thorn already out and looking to train.
"Yeah, so what if you're a Faunus? You're a person, just like Ruby and I." Jaune added. Ace nodded, even more eager for some training.
Velvet smiled back at her two friends outside of her team. "Well, what're we waiting for? Let's train."
"Bu!" Thumper nodded in agreement.
Just then, a few wild Shroomish appeared, all with the same irritated expression.
"Perfect!" Ruby gained a smirk. This was even better for Thorn than Rosebud admittedly since Shroomish were grass types which were weak to poison type moves. "Thorn, Poison Sting!" Thorn obeyed and fired an array of needle-like projectiles which hit the lead Shroomish.
"Ace, Wing Attack!" Jaune shouted. Ace's wings began glowing with flying-type energy which he then slammed into two of the Shroomish, knocking them out instantly. "Nice, buddy!" Ace squawked.
"Thumper, Pound!" Velvet screamed. Her Buneary hit another Shroomish, knocking it back, but Thumper quickly felt a bad effect as yellow spores coated her body, resulting in her shuddering in slight pain. "Thumper! What's going on?!"
"I read about this! This is the Shroomish's Effect Spore ability!" Jaune remembered. "If your Pokemon attacks it with a move that requires physical contact, it'll either be paralyzed, poisoned, or put asleep!"
"Wow! That's quite handy!" Ruby was a little wide-eyed for a second.
The remainder of the Shroomish used Stun Spore at the exact same time, resulting in them all combining into a giant yellow cloud of Stun Spore. "Holy crap!" Jaune shouted, not believing what he and his friends were seeing. "Never seen that before!" Ace also had wide eyes.
"We have to move out of the cloud's range, now!" Ruby yelled with utmost urgency, Rosebud hiding behind her trainer's legs.
"Agreed!" Velvet had recalled Thumper into her Poke-Ball for now. She was still pretty new to the Pokemon, so it was an understandable move.
However, Thorn felt something rising within her. It was like a power readying to burst out. Ruby noticed this and crouched down. "Thorn, are you okay?!"
That was a big mistake as the stun spore was now upon the young heiress, "RUBY!" Both Jaune and Velvet yelled in fear, "SILCOON!" Thorn then yelled as she rose up her body and glowed brightly and as if repelled by the evolution the giant cloud of Stun Spore stopped as the white sphere of a pokemon sprouted massive wings as the main body thinned and grew a foot taller.
Soon the glowing form was in the shape of a creature with a round head and a round body, with tiny limbs, huge segmented wings, two tall antennae and a long proboscis. When the glowing light burst into tiny sparkles Thorn was shown to be a Beautifly, a creature with black wings, yellow, blue, and red markings, her face, underside, and four stubby limbs were gray, while the rest of her body is black. Lastly she had huge beautiful blue eyes. "Beautifly!" Thorn shouts as she lets out a new move, Gust!
Jaune and Velvet were shocked to see Thorn evolve into a beautiful new form right on the spot. "Ruby! Are you okay?!"
"I'm fine, you two, but Thorn's finally evolved into a Beautifly!" Ruby cheered, seeing Thorn use Gust, whipping up the wind to blow the Shroomish group away. The wild Mushroom Pokemon couldn't really stop themselves from being picked up off the ground and blown to another part of the forest.
When the gust went out of sight, Ruby, Jaune, and Velvet cheered for Thorn. "Beautifly!" She fluttered in pride. She saw her trainer and made her way down to her. When reaching Ruby's face, Thorn tickled her cheek with her proboscis.
"Hehehe! Thorn, that tickles!" Ruby giggled.
Ruby suddenly hears her scroll dex pings and as she's reading it Jaune and Ace walk over. "Thorn, that was amazing!" The blonde knight complimented, not noticing his fellow leader's freaked out expression.
However, Thorn moved to attack him and Ace, or would've if her trainer hadn't wrapped her up in a tight hug, but not too tight. Ruby was nervously laughing with the scared look on her face. Thorn was struggling to escape the embrace.
"Whoa! What the hell, Thorn?!" Jaune threw his hands up.
"What in the?" Velvet then adds.
"Turns out! Beautiflys are aggressive and greedy omnivorous predators!" Ruby yells with a false cheerful tone as she swiftly takes out Thorn's pokeball and returns her back inside.
"What?! Omnivores?!" Jaune and Ace were both shocked as well as confused.
"Good thing your scroll dex warned you just in time." Velvet said, a little freaked out. "You think you still want her on your growing Pokemon team?"
"What're you saying Velvet?" Ruby then replies, "I can't just abandon Thorn because she's become less friendly.~" she points out.
"Sorry, Ruby. I'm just a little freaked out that Thorn may come for Thumper as well as your friends' Pokemon every time she's out of her Poke-Ball." Velvet reasoned.
"Well let's check with Professor Rowan first." Jaune suggests, "He'll know if pokemon can be taught to ignore their less savory nature." Mister Arc points out.
"Wait, I recently read that the Starly line are natural predators of Thorn's species, and Professor Rowan's Archimedes is a Starly." Velvet brought up.
"Well I can keep Thorn inside of her pokeball so that shouldn't be a problem." Ruby points out.
"OK. Just be careful from now on." Jaune said. "I don't want our Pokemon ending up on Thorn's menu."
"Me neither~ I want us all to be friends." Ruby noted as the three of them went on to return to the main camp to talk to the Prof.
Inside Professor Rowan's classroom, the trio explained what happened with Thorn. "I see, I see." The older man nodded. "Sadly, that is the case with certain Pokemon like Thorn, but don't worry, she can be taught and trained to be more docile with your friends and their Pokemon."
"And ignore her predatory instincts?" Ruby double checked as she held onto Thorn's ball.
"Hm yes. Any and all pokémon have the capacity to love and care for even their most ingrained of rivals, prey, and predators. For example, Archimedes here has never once attacked or eaten a Wurmple." he explains as he pets the small bird pokemon's head.
"Well, I'm gonna do my best to train Thorn to not attack my friends or their Pokemon." Ruby said with conviction.
"She'll need constant exposure to small pokémon and then constant reminders to not follow her instincts." Rowan explains before moving over to one of his many cabinets. "And to feed her need for all of the nutrients she'll need to stay healthy." he opens up a drawer and takes out a large see-through container of what looked to be thick aqua blue liquid. "She'll have to eat this" he adds as he hands the container to Ruby. "That'll feed her for the day and I'll be sure to give you a constant supply of that Beautifly specific nectar."
"Thank you, Professor Rowan. I promise I'll do a really good job." Ruby smiled.
"Fortunately for you. Thorn will not see you or Rosebud as food or enemies. Thanks to imprinting you both as friends while as a Wurmple." he then reminds Ruby.
"Oh, thank Oum. Still, I want her to be friendly to all of my friends and their Pokemon, so I'll train Thorn." Ruby smiled.
"You'll need your team for this. I suggest doing it as quick as possible. The faster you go with the training the quicker she'll learn." Rowan explains, "Gather up your team inside of your dorm room and begin immediately." he then instructs.
"I understand. Thank you, Professor Rowan." Ruby kept her smile. With that, she left the classroom with her new mission.
Soon enough her friends/teammates were gathered up into their dorm room where she explains the situation. Her friends and their pokemon were a bit shocked to hear of Thorn's now more aggressive and greedy nature.
"Wow. Never thought Thorn could be a killer bug like that." Yang commented.
"Ruby, you are brave for accepting to train her." Blake commended.
"This may cement my dislike of bugs." Weiss commented.
"It's not her fault~" Ruby points out, "You don't get on a house cat's case for hunting cute chipmunks and squirrels do you?" she then points out to Yang and Weiss.
"Ruby, a house cat can't extrude its digestive juices and liquefy you to eat you." Weiss retorted.
"Beautiflys don't do that~" Ruby assures Weiss. "They're more like, vampires." She then corrected.
"Ruby, you're not helping Thorn's case here." Yang said, concerned.
"Point is!" Ruby then suddenly yells making her team jump, "Thorn shouldn't be judged for her nature! Only a bad trainer would give her up based on that alone and as her trainer I will not forsake her!" she says with a determined goal. "So I ask that you three help me teach her to not give into her base instincts. Rowan has assured me that all pokemon can be taught to be friendly no matter how naturally violent they may be. So will you help me or not?" Ruby then asks with a pleadful expression.
"I'll help you, Ruby Rose." Blake put a hand on her leader's shoulder. "Your determination is intoxicating to me." The cat faunus smiled.
"Thanks" Ruby then says, sounding very relieved.
"Well I'll help of course!" Yang assures, "I'd be a bad big sister if I didn't."
Weiss sighs, "You were there for me when I was being really cold. Now you're here for your pokemon. I'll help too."
"Thank you, everyone. This means a lot to me that you'll help me with Thorn." Ruby smiled at her team.
"So what's the plan anyways?" Yang then asks.
"Well first, she needs to eat. She must be very hungry right now after not eating at all as a Silcoon." Ruby noted as she took out the food Prof. Rowan gave her. "Our pokemon should be in their balls when she's feeding and as she is then we'll talk a game plan."
"Okay, then. Let's do this." Yang said with a hint of nervousness.
Soon after everyone's pokemon were recalled Ruby let out Thorn onto a cleared up desk. She looked to be very weak and droopy and let out a weak sigh. Ruby feels very bad as she takes the container and opens it up, giving it to her Beautifly who perks up immediately upon smelling the contents and happily extends her proboscis to start drinking from it. "Sorry Thorn! I didn't mean to hurt you~" Ruby apologizes but the Beautifly flaps her wings in a jovial manner ensuring Ruby no harm was done.
"Now, Thorn, I've been informed of your nature, so I'm gonna train you to be friendlier to my friends and their Pokemon." Ruby informed. "I don't want you eating any if them out if nowhere."
"Beauti?" Thorn responds as it briefly stops drinking and tilts its head in confusion.
Ruby sighs and then turns to Yang. Johnny as a fire type who is still organic is the best first little mon to test Thorn with and so, "Yang, let out Johnny please" she then requests, getting a nod from her bigger sister.
Yang let out Johnny who looked at Thorn. The Beautifly, though hesitant due to Charmander being a fire type, began flying towards Johnny, her intentions clear, but Ruby wrapped her up again, though a little softer this time. "This is what I'm talking about, Thorn. You can't do that to my friends' Pokemon. That's not a good thing to do. They are your friends, too."
"Beautifly!" Thorn cries out, struggling in her trainer's surprisingly firm arms. "No! Bad Thorn!" she then yells in an assertive tone before flicking Thorn's forehead making her gasp in shock before she was placed back onto the table. "See that thick nectar? That's your food, not other pokemon." Ruby asserts.
"Beauti..." Thorn whined, but Ruby remained firm. Seeing her trainer unmoving, Thorn went back to the nectar. "There, Thorn. There's your food. You won't need any other food but this for now." Ruby said.
As Thorn ate her nectar Ruby then gestures to Blake to take it. Raising an eyebrow but following instructions regardless she reaches out and takes the jar away making Thorn gasp in shock again. She narrows her eyes at Blake as her proboscis glows purple ready to fire poison sting only for Ruby to flick Thorn's head again, making her whine in protest, "No! When someone takes your food, you use your words!" she explains, "Besides, my teammates are your friends too and look, Blake simply wants to hand feed you, see." Ruby then explains making Thorn look over to Blake who was presenting the delicious goop.
"Beau..." Thorn said, Blake slowly presented the jar to the Beautifly. "Beautifly..." Thorn repeated slowly this time and began drinking the nectar from the jar.
"See? Friend." Ruby assures Beautifly gently stroking her antennae to give positive feedback. "I know you are aggressive and greedy by nature, but those behaviors need to be under control if you want to stay with me. I know it won't be easy. You'll give in to your instincts a lot. But if you want us to stay together. You need to learn self-control." Ruby explains in a soft and loving tone.
"Beautifly..." Thorn softly whined again, not sure she could do it, but for her trainer Ruby, she was going to try.
"Everyone, let out your pokemon and let's try to be good to each other." Ruby then instructs and believing in their leader, they all let out their respective poke-partners. Suddenly Thorn saw many potential prey for her to eat. "You can do this, Thorn. Just focus on the nectar to eat, not them. They are your friends, not food." Ruby repeated.
Friends. Yes she vaguely recalls that when she was a Wurmple and a Silcoon, but aside from Rosebud and Ben, although Ben only because he's a living rock not a juicy meaty morsel. All of the others look like good meals. "Thorn, you want to be with me, don't you?" Ruby then asks gently.
"Beautifly..." Thorn did want to be with Ruby. She raised her from a Wurmple. She didn't want to be kicked out.
Soon Thorn had her fill and wasn't going to attack the other pokemon for food. "OK... good. Now, I want you to play with them. Like you use too." Ruby then instructs. Thorn slowly went down to Shadow first and gestured with her wings, fluttering them. Shadow smiles at the Beautifly's gesture. "You're doing good, Thorn."
Slowly the butterfly pokemon began to play with her fellow companions again, all of them having a fun time just fooling around and all seemed to be good. But then Ben, the roughhousing type, gave Thorn a friendly slap on the back. The change in Thorn's demeanor was instant as she turns around and smothers the geodude's face in a string shot. Ben cried out as he got tied up tightly in the powerful string.
"No! Thorn! It's okay!" Ruby quickly began rubbing Thorn's back. She then turned to the Geodude. "Ben, you can't roughhouse with Thorn. She's the delicate type."
"Geo" the rock mon replies a mumbled sorry as Johnny gently burns the webbing away with his flame tail. "Now Thorn, I get not liking some types of physical contact but please. That could've really hurt someone." Ruby explains as Thorn continues to glare at Ben before easing her gaze as she looks up at Ruby. "We're gonna do this, Thorn. You are a beautiful creature. You are stronger than your instincts." Ruby smiled lovingly at her second Pokemon.
"Beau..." Thorn replies looking back at Ben who was now out of the now burnt up webbing rubbing their sore arms. She then looks apologetic and lets out an apology but Ben shrugs it off and gives a thumbs up saying it was no big deal.
"See? Ben already accepted your apology. You're doing great so far, Thorn. I'm very proud of you." Ruby gently hugged Thorn.
"Beautifly..." she replies sounding sad yet assured before looking at her friends again both trainer and pokemon. She won't just change her attitude like flipping a switch. But she can already see why Ruby is teaching her to be better. These are good people and if she wants to be their friend, she has to get a grip on herself.
"We'll take it one step at a time, Thorn. Not too fast. We're gonna do this." Ruby repeated. "You are a great second Pokemon on my team."
"Beautifly!" She yells in agreement before Ruby lets her go and allows Thorn to keep trying to interact with the others. Getting friendly again with Nicholas, Johnny, Ben, and Shadow. Even being reacquainted with Samuel who was fast at wanting to be friends with the bug/flying type. Even as the larger mon was wary of the loose streaks of electricity.
"Well, you three? What do you think? I handle that well?" Ruby asked her teammates.
"Very" Blake answered.
"It's good to watch. For all we know our pokemon might have similar problems in the future." Weiss noted.
"You should probably have Thorn do the same thing with Team JNPR and their pokemon too." Yang added.
"Of course I will, along with Velvet and Thumper." Ruby reassured. "I'd like to thank you three for giving Thorn a chance."
"Yeah sorry" Weiss then apologized, "You hear bad things and you jump to conclusions." she admits.
"Yeah we should've had better faith in you and Thorn." Yang agrees.
"Forgiven, you two. I'm just glad to have great friends and Pokemon in my life." Ruby smiled, Thorn landing on her back and tickling her cheek with her proboscis again.
"Hee hee hee hee~" Ruby giggles as she pets Thorn, "I believe in you~"
*Edge of Vale. Coco Adel. 13:43 pm*
As Team RWBY and their pokemon help Thorn adjust around her instincts, we move to another scene of a certain sunglass-wearing fashionista walking to the edge of south Vale, her weapon Gianduja gripped in her hand in its handbag form. She was walking with pride evident in every step although there was a hint of agitation. "Dammit. I want a pokemon." She grumbled. She was happy for her bun-bun for getting an equally cute Buneary as her first, but now it left Miss Adel fairly jealous of the fact that she's been left out.
Suddenly, growling was heard. "Good, Grimm to vent my frustrations upon." Coco smirked, her weapon always at the ready. Several Beowolves and a couple Ursa showed up. They all growled at the fashionista. "You guys want some? Come and get it. Plenty for everyone."
They all roared and began charging as the young lady's handbag suddenly and swiftly became a mini-gun and began to rapid fire at the charging grimm. With dust inside each bullet and her semblance Hype she began turning every grimm she targeted into piles of chunklets. For those who got too close Coco easily wielded her Gianduja as a blunt instrument as she knocked several grimm away with ease.
While she was just mowing the Grimm down, a bipedal, reptilian Pokémon with a slender build was actually watching the battle taking place. Most of its body is green with a cream underside. A yellow stripe runs down the length of its back and tail, and it has yellow markings around its large eyes. "Snivy..." It whispered. It was impressed by Coco's courage despite being outnumbered.
The creature continued to watch as Coco easily dealt with the small army of grimm before noticing a few about to jump her from behind as she was distracted by the others. Narrowing their eyes, Snivy jumps into action. Coco sees a green, yellow, and cream blur go past her as she hears loudly whipping sounds and the sounds of canines yelping. "What the hell...?" Coco couldn't believe that a small creature was fighting the Grimm, and with vines of all things.
"What the hell...?" Coco couldn't believe that a small creature was fighting the Grimm, and with vines of all things. She found herself admiring the creature's spunk. Those vines seemed pretty powerful too as the two foot tall limbed snake was batting them aside and away with ease. Quickly Coco finished up the grimm in front of her before turning around to see the snivy holding the grimm down with their vines as the grass snake glowed with green energy, their vines looking as if they were getting stronger.
"Little guy, you have guts and I like that!" Coco commented. "Should I finish them off or do you want the honor yourself?"
"Snivy!" the little mon cried out as their strengthened vines snapped the grimms' necks with a loud and satisfying crunch. Making Coco whistle in approval of the brutality. "Not bad little dude." she noted.
The snivy turns to Coco with an annoyed expression and huffs as they shake their head. "Hm? Something wrong?" The little creature sighs as they point to Coco and then to themselves. Pointing to Coco's lady parts and then back to themselves as if trying to convey something.
Coco immediately realized what the Snivy was trying to convey. "Oh, you're female! Sorry, I didn't know!" Snivy huffs but then nods, "Hah hah~ Sorry I don't have any pokemon." Coco bluntly admits, "So, you seem interested in fighting with me. I got a mission to clear out the grimm in this area. Want to help?" Coco then offers.
"Snivy!" The grass snake Pokemon nodded, accepting the fashionista's offer.
"Alright!" Coco cheers, "Say if you're willing, want to join me when I head back to Beacon? I've been wanting a partner like yourself.~" the fashionista also offers. Snivy took a moment to consider this before simply nodding.
"Snivy." The mon felt great potential for Coco and felt she could be a great trainer.
Coco Adel gives a toothy grin, "Alright! Let's kick some butt together! Show me what you got Diane! You okay if I call you Diane? Yeah I think Diane is a fine name for a fine lady!" she then says with confidence.
The Snivy thought about the name and decided she liked it. "Snivy." Diane smiled.
"OK cool~" Coco and Diane then went on to hunt for more grimm and found they were a great team. Both of them had great long range and close range fighting capabilities that complimented each other's fighting styles. "Well, having you means I can join my other friends in a special classroom that was set up specifically for people with Pokemon. I can finally be included." She smirked.
"And that means spending more time with my best friend." Coco then added happily. Diane just raised one of her eyebrows. "You'll see what I mean soon. Say how about we pretty you up along the way? I can tell you prefer to stay clean but civilization has found ways to keep extra clean." Coco then offers and being as clean as possible did appeal to Diane greatly.
"Snivy." Diane was looking forward to having a partner to fight alongside.
"Come here you" Coco then picks Diane up and places them around her shoulders which Diane did not mind resting on. With that the fashionista brought the Snivy into the city and it wasn't long from there they went to a poke cleaning building. Specializing in cleaning the various pokemon types. Along with visiting a store that sold pokeblocks and poffins which helped bring out a pokemon's various physical attributes. That being coolness, cuteness, beauty, looking tougher, and looking more clever. "There you go, Diane. Your first experience in a city. What do you think?" The fashionista asked.
Diane sighs contently as she admires herself in a mirror. Her skin and leaves shone beautifully under the light and she could already feel the effects of those special treats making her look even more attractive. "Looks like you have an eye for fashion with the way you're checking yourself out. I think you're a perfect fit to be my partner." Coco grinned.
"Snivy~" Diane agreed as she did a few poses showing off a love for looking good and strong.
"Wow, I got lucky~" Coco noted happily before picking Diane up and putting her onto her shoulders again, "Well as much as I'd love to show you around more we should get back to Beacon and show you off." she then admits.
"Snivy!" Diane cheered, excited to show off her style to Coco's friends and their Pokemon. She was one with all kinds of style.
"I can't understand you verbally. Yet I can feel what you're thinking.~ Let's show them how cool you are." Coco replied, making Diane fold her arms with a proud smile. "Oh, you will be a ton of fun to have along." She grinned, her new Snivy getting onto her back. With that Coco rushed back off to Beacon while pointing out a few buildings she and Diane could check out when they got some free time.
Back at Beacon, Velvet and Thumper were having a nice walk in one of the many hallways of the academy. "This is nice, Thumper." The bunny faunus smiled at her new friend.
"Bu!" Thumper hopped in agreement.
"I hope Ruby is doing okay with Thorn though." She then adds, still worried.
"Neary~" Thumper replied with worry too.
"Hey, Vel!" Coco shouted, still running to catch up with her teammate. When she did, she panted for a minute or two before showing Velvet her excited expression. "I found my own Pokemon!"
"Woah really!?" Velvet cheered, "BUN!" Thumper cheered as well.
"Yeah~ Show yourself Diane." Coco then says as the grass snake pops up from behind Coco, "Snivy?"
"Oooooh, which Pokemon is this?" Velvet was admiring the Snivy.
"Well base on their cry, I'd say a Snivy, and a grass type from what I've seen." Coco explains as she gently rubs Snivy's chin which she seemed to like. "She's quite the fighter actually."
"Amazing!" Velvet cheered. "This means you can join Professor Rowan's class with me along with RWBY and JNPR!"
"Indeed, Bun-Bun~" Coco noted, making Velvet gasp as she frantically looked around. "Hey now, you know I wouldn't say that if there were others around." She assures Velvet.
Velvet sighed in great relief before smiling again. "Regardless, welcome to having a Pokemon, Coco." The bunny faunus hugged her friend, Thumper hugging her trainer's leg.
Coco hugs back as Diane climbs down and greets Thumper who smiles back and introduces himself. "So uh, guess I should go meet this Professor then." Coco then points out.
"Yep. Professor Rowan will get you set up with essential items. After all, you don't plan to have just Diane, do you?" Velvet smiled.
"Oh you bet I don't!" Coco assures Velvet as they began to walk towards his classroom. "I'm not about to let you get ahead of me after all.~" she then teases a little.
"Well, you're already behind Ruby, Weiss, Yang, and Nora." Velvet informed. "Those four have two Pokemon each."
"Hah, don't they concern me.~" Coco assures Velvet as she gives them a friendly shake.
"Well, Ruby is having a bit of an issue with her second Pokemon, but she's working through it." Velvet said.
"You can tell me all about it after we've gotten me initiated. I know it hasn't been that long. But those days where I couldn't spend time with you felt very long." Coco admits making Velvet smile.
"Awww, you miss me that much?~" Velvet replied, finding that quite cute.
"V-Velvet!" Coco stuttered for a second. "Anyway, let's get to Professor Rowan."
"Hm hm hm~" Velvet chuckles cutely as the two best friends make their way to get Coco set up.
Meanwhile, after a few hours of training Thorn in the art of socializing, the group decided that getting Thorn some exercise would be a good move to really let her stretch her new wings. In the meantime they all decided to train and get more used to working as a team.
A couple hours later, Blake and Shadow were off to the side while the rest of the group were still out in the open, though she did introduce herself to Coco and Diane. "Alright, Shadow, you ready?"
"Zor!" Shadow nodded.
"Sssshhh" Blake corrected, making Shadow blush in embarrassment before they whispered, "Zor" softly.
"Now, let's practice our stealth and sneak attacks." Blake said. "We need to become the sneakiest we can be." Shadow nods, not every pokemon can be sneaky but those like himself do benefit from it a lot. Blake has been training Shadow on the art of stealth, patience, and awareness for a while now. So it was time to really test these skills out.
"Alright, Shadow: Let's go!" Blake whisper-yelled. The two began running towards a red and white circular target that they set up. Blake went to the side using her Gambol Shroud kusarigama mode as she wrapped the pole part of the target pulling it down to make the target off balance, allowing Shadow a chance to strike at it with a powerful Scratch after having used Hone Claws a few times while sneaking.
"Alright, Shadow, that wasn't bad." Blake smiled.
"Zorua!" Shadow lightly jumped in happiness.
"However, we can always do better. Let's continue practicing." Blake crouched and petted Shadow, the Zorua leaning into her soft touch.
But while looking up Shadow then spotted something high in the sky and his eyes widened. "Zorua!?" he yipped loudly, making Blake almost jump as she turned to look up at what he was shocked about, only to see a medium sized Nevermore off way into the distant sky being attacked by something so tiny it was a miracle Blake could spot them.
"Shadow, are we looking at a Nevermore being attacked by something so small we can't even see what's attacking it?" Blake asked.
"Zor!" Shadow nodded.
Blake hums as she narrows her eyes hoping her faunus senses can help her make out more of what's happening. She wasn't even sure what she could do to get up so huh... she then realized what she could potentially do but it would be risky. Then again, risks are what hunters do when they need to help someone. "Shadow I want you to hang on tight!" she then instructs.
Shadow jumped into his trainer's arms. Blake then jumped into the air, using her semblance to get higher and higher. She was using her semblance like stepping stones to get further into the air, but it was straining her to pull this off as sweat was coming off her head a little strongly. A couple minutes later, she reached enough height to properly see the Nevermore. However, what she saw attacking it just floored her. What she and Shadow saw was a small, birdlike Pokémon that was primarily dark blue, including its wings, tail, back and part of its head. The lower part of its body and chest was yellow, and it had a plume of black feathers that began from under its wings to its face, from which a few tufts protruding over its head, giving it a mask-like appearance. It has red eyes with white markings under it. It also had small gray legs and feet, each with two toes on the front and one on the back.
The creature wasn't even a foot tall from what Blake could take in, but that didn't matter to the little pokemon. It was fiercely striking at the beast with powerful dark type energy radiating off of the tiny bird Pokemon's body. Scratching and pecking at it mercilessly as the nevermore desperately tries to swat the tiny pest down but to no avail.
However, despite its incredible tenacity Blake could tell the tiny bird mon was starting to tire and the Nevermore still had gas in the tank. Taking in a breath, Blake produces one more clone but imbued it with wind dust. Thus as she touches it with her feet it exploded with a blast of wind rocketing her towards the Nevermore as Shadow held on tightly.
"Here we go..." Blake breathed to herself as she fired shots from Gambol Shroud at the Nevermore, distracting it from the tiny bird Pokemon. However, the little bird didn't retreat, but rather kept attacking the Grimm with the little bit of strength it had left.
"Heh, you're insane.~" Blake couldn't help but say before finally reaching the Nevermore and turning her weapon into sword mode and when she landed on the medium size Nevermore rams the blade length wise into its neck.
The Nevermore screeched in pain, feeling the blade now in its neck. The little bird Pokemon took this new chance to hit it even more.
"Zor!" Shadow yipped, looking at Blake getting more and more tired.
"Attack!" Blake commands and dutifully Shadow joined the little bird pokemon, yelling at it to attack the neck before he went on to spam Hone Claws and Fury Swipes. Listening and not minding the assistance, the Rookidee listened and began targeting the neck with every last bit of energy it had left, its Power Trip allowing it to borrow into the weak spot.
It didn't take long for the mid-size Nevermore to lose the life in its red eyes as the two Pokemon were just attacking the wound so much. Screeching for the final time, it finally died.
"Too me!" Blake yells as she pulls her blade out and lets herself fall off. Shadow jumped onto Blake as the Rookidee flew over and clung on tightly. Blake breathed in deep breaths to keep calm and focus on her semblance again. She didn't have much aura yet from using her clones so much, but she had enough to break their fall as she double checked and saw she had enough wind dust.
Blake watched the ground coming closer and closer. "Get ready, you two." Using the wind dust and what was left of her aura, she broke her fall with Shadow and the Rookidee holding onto her tightly just before they hit the ground. When they reached the ground, the cat faunus was panting heavily as she let Shadow and the Rookidee go.
"Phew... that was... wow that was reckless." Blake realizes a little too late but oh well, she managed to pull it off without dying.
"Zorua..." Shadow rubbed his face on Blake's cheek.
"Rookidee..." The tiny bird Pokemon looked at the two, wondering why they helped it out.
"Hey, you good?" Blake then asks the Rookidee as she gently pets Shadow's head.
"Rook..." The Rookidee chirped, answering Blake's question.
Blake smiles as she stands back up albeit a fair bit shaky, "I admire your gumption, but that was still very dangerous. Do try to have a bit more self preservation." Blake then suggests a bit light-heartedly as she and Shadow began to walk back to the main group for some rest.
However, the Rookidee was just standing there, looking at the two. It thought that they were very brave taking on that Nevermore like itself and began following them. "Rookidee." It lightly chirped.
"Hm?" the faunus hummed as she looked behind herself and noticed the tiny bird was following them. "You want to come with me?" she then asks getting a happy chirp from the Tiny Bird Pokemon.
"Zor!" Shadow said, happy to get a second companion.
"Well, if you're gonna come with me, what should I call you?" Blake put a hand to her chin in thought.
First was figuring out the Rookidee's gender but when she used her pokescroll she found that that Rookidee was among the many with no obvious gender signs. Sighing she simply asks, "So are you a girl or a boy? Just point to either me or Shadow." she then requests. It took a second for the Rookidee to figure out what Blake was asking before chirping in realization and then pointing at Blake with one of their wings, indicating they were a she. Seeing the Rookidee pointing at her, she came up with a name. "How bout... Valentina? You like that one?"
"Rook!" she replies, sounding happy with the name before she flaps onto Blake's shoulder again and only weighing around 4lbs she was pretty easy to carry. Blake feels happy as she gives a tired smile and takes out a Poke-Ball and offers it to Valentina.
Valentina pressed the center and went inside. "Well, Shadow? Looks like we have a new member of our team." Blake smiled tiredly as she and Shadow resumed walking back to the main group, happy with what they did today.
Hello, everyone. I hope you all liked this chapter of Rwby: Remnant's Trainers. This chapter deals with Thorn's new aggressive and greedy nature being an omnivorous predator. Ruby however, is adamant in training her to overcome her predatory instincts when with her friends and their Pokemon.
Meanwhile, Coco Adel takes on some Grimm, resulting in a Snivy helping out the fashionista. The two quickly form a friendship based on their love of style. Coco names the Snivy Diane who proves to be strong when she uses her vines to snapt some Grimm necks.
Back at Beacon, Velvet and Thumper are enjoying a nice walk when Coco finds her and introduces Diane to her teammate.
Lastly, Blake and Shadow meet a Rookidee fighting a Nevermore by itself. Blake and Shadow decide to help it out, actually straining the cat faunus a bit. In the end, she accepts the Rookidee as her second Pokemon and names it Valentina.
