The train was moving at top speed as Indy and the rest of the group were passing through the different cars. The witches and basilisk were in shock to see the different rooms and cars. They were especially surprised to see the difference between the higher class of society and the lower class of society. Passing by a mother, who looked very tired, and a baby, who was crying nonstop, Willow stopped and put her hand behind her back. There she used some magic to grow a little rose. Presenting it to the crying baby, the baby stopped crying and was smiling and giggling. Willow smiled back and gave the rose to the child, as it was reaching for it.
After going through a couple more cars, they finally reached their rooms. Indy opened the door to see a small cabin that had two beds, a medium size closet, and a table. Looking at the other room where the kids will be staying, it was a bit more spacious with two cots on the floor.
"Ok, so just settle in, and once everyone is ready, we will go get some food at the dining car," Indy said.
Everyone nodded as they all went into their respective rooms. Closing the door behind them, Indy and Jack sat on the beds feeling the springs compressing. They were both thinking of something as Indy spoke up first.
"How many do you figure?" Indy asked.
"Twenty give or take. Two men in each car," Jack said.
"One covering the entrance, the other covering the exit," Indy said.
"Entrance has an smg and the exit has a pistol," Jack said.
"Then there are the four sitting in the dining car," Indy remembered.
"So what do you think our chances are?" Jack asked.
"Slim. Half of them look like Nazis, the other half look like they are a part of the cult," Indy said, "Even if we did not leave our rooms, they will still come and overpower us."
"So what's the plan?" Jack asked.
"Blend in, do not take notice of them. They don't look like they want witnesses around, so when the moment is right, then we will attack," Indy said.
In the other room, Luz and her friends were sitting on the beds, just talking. "Did any of you notice how cautious Indy and Mr. Shannon have been ever since we got on the train?" Willow asked.
"Yeah, they are worried about the cult and the Nazis following us," Luz said.
"Luz, I'm worried," Amity said, holding Luz's hand.
"I have the same feeling too, Amity," Willow said.
"Everything will be alright, I promised," Luz said.
"It's not that we don't trust you, Luz, but every time something bad happens, it is usually with the Cult and the Blood of the Gods," Gus said.
"Not only that but as soon as we reach a step forward in finding the location of the blood, somehow for some reason we get some pushback," Amity said, "It's as if there is someone here that is hiding a secret among us."
"I overheard Dr. Jones and Mr. Shannon talking about that too. But I wasn't able to hear the rest of the story," Tina said.
The mood of the cabin was a bit solemn as everyone started to feel heavy pressure around them as if something was pushing down on them.
"Luz, do you think Belos was right when he refused to free the Collector?" Amity asked.
"I…I don't know. If you would have asked me before we know what type of being the Collector is, then I would say no. But seeing what he had done to Belos, no matter how much he deserved it, I honestly think it was the right thing," Luz said, "Let's just hope that he proves our worries wrong."
Luz gets up, stretching her arms. "I need to go wash up before we meet Indy and Jack for dinner," she said as she walked towards the door to the bathroom. Opening the door, Luz saw a tall robed figure staring back at her.
"Oh great," Luz said as she felt the figure's hand going for her throat.
The figure pushed Luz against the closet door, bringing her up and choking her. Everyone else in the room panicked as Hunter used his ability to push the figure away from Luz. Luz fell down, catching her breath. The children heard something click as Luz looked up to see the figure cocking a submachine gun.
"Oh come on!" Luz shouted as she swung the door to the cabin open, "Come on guys, we need to leave now."
Everyone ran from the train cabin down the hallway while bullets whizzed past them. Indy opened his cabin door and saw the robed figure running after the kids. Indy tripped the man, causing the figure to fall face first, dropping the gun. Indy reached for the gun, cocking it and aiming toward the man. The figure looked up and started laughing.
"Drop the gun, Dr. Jones, or else the children get it," the man said.
Indy heard Luz shouting at the guards, as they were being pushed forward into the train car. A group of cult members was pointing their weapons at the kids, Indy, and Jack. Indy, seeing no other option, threw the gun to the floor. The cult members then proceeded to guide the group into the very last train car, where they saw Heinz and Phoenix talking.
Looking up, Phoenix took notice of the Americans and the children. "Ahh, Dr. Jones, it seems that you and the witches are still alive," Phoenix said, impressed by Indy.
"We are like cockroaches, we will always survive," Indy quipped.
"So it seems that way. Tell me Dr. Jones, when you find this blood of the gods, what are you planning to do with it?" Phoenix asked.
"I am going to send these kids home, nothing more, nothing less," Indy said, with a little tension in his voice.
"But aren't you curious about what this Demon Realm looks like? A world where magic is alive, a world where it rains acid, it's a land full of savages that needs to be tamed," Phoenix explained.
"So you side with these goose-stepping morons? To have them fund your own psychotic fantasy?" Indy asked, with acid in his words.
"Dr. Jones, wasn't it your own nation that committed the Wounded Knee Massacre back in 1890? Wasn't it also your own nation that condemned its own citizens into work camps during this war?" Heinz asked, "Don't be high and mighty for these things. These creatures are just savages, they practice an art form that is satanic and evil that if we don't conquer them, Dr. Jones, then they will not be saved."
The witches tensed up as Heinz was walking close to them. Jack and Luz stood in front of them, shielding them from the Nazis. Indy took a step in front of them, also protecting the kids. While the witches were slowly getting scared with each step Heinz and Phoenix took, Indy laughed at the statement the Nazi officer said.
"Ha, do you really think you and your moronic goose-stomping allies are able to control this Demon Realm? You do realize you are forgetting one outlier," Indy said.
"Which is?" Phoenix said, stopping in his tracks, curious.
"The Collector," Indy said.
"The Collector? Ha, do you really think we will fall for that?" Heinz asked.
"It's true," Luz said, "The Collector is a powerful being. Someone you don't want to mess with."
"And what does a mere child know about this Collector?" Phoenix asked.
"Not a lot. However, I do know that the person you look up to, Belos, was supposedly killed," Luz said as she started walking toward Phoenix, "It wasn't even a pretty death. No, this Collector has the mind of a child and if you make him mad, well, it will not end well for you. Belos learned that the hard way when he refused to free the being from his prison, even after he promised him. So you know what the being did. He said he wasn't mad at Belos. He just wants to play a game with him. Tag was the game. So he brings up his finger up to his face, and like something out of a Lovecraftian novel, makes Belos come to him. With just a simple touch, the Collector turned Belos into liquid. So, let me ask you this Mr. Phoenix, do you really believe that you have any chance on a being who is merely a child that has the powers of a god?"
"Do you really believe that Belos is truly dead, Luz the Human?" Hunter asked, his voice changing to a deeper, almost familiar voice.
"Hunter?" Willow asked, worried.
"Hunter is not here," the possessed Hunter said.
"Belos," Luz said, finally understanding who the person is, "What have you done to Hunter?"
"Hunter was merely just a vessel for me," Belos said, "Merely a tool."
"That's the reason why he became so jumpy ever since we escaped the gladiator ring," Indy said, "He was afraid that you would take control of him."
"Ahh, the archeologist, the nonbeliever. Tell me Dr. Jones, Mr. Shannon, do you think these things really care about you? Do you think you really know what is in the Demon Realm? This human girl, she was corrupted by these creatures. They turned her against her kind," Belos said, "These creatures are not normal Dr. Jones, they needed to be purified.
"So you were willing to kill innocent beings in order for the world to fit into your delusional version of a utopia. If anything, it sounds like you're mad," Indy said.
"I see these things have already corrupted you too," Belos said, "How disappointing, I was hoping you would join my new army. No matter, I just have to force you to find the Blood of the Gods."
"And if I refused?" Indy asked.
He then heard clicks as Indy, Jack, and the kids saw both the Nazis and the Cult Members cocking their weapons and pointing them towards the group.
"Ok, point taken," Indy said.
"Let me ask you Belos, when you enter back into the Demon Realm what are your plans? It's not like everyone is going to give a warm welcome," Luz asked, walking towards Indy and Belos.
"You do always have a feeble mind, Luz. But, since you won't live to know what will happen, I will just leave you on the note that the Collector can still be of some use to me," Belos explained.
"And what will become of the kid?" Indy asked.
"This body was merely a vessel, so he will just be another corpse collecting dust," Belos said.
"You son of a bitch!" Indy shouted, about to throw a punch at Belos but was stopped by Willow.
"No, Dr. Jones, don't. Hunter is still in there," Willow pleaded.
Indy understood as he relaxed and took a few breaths. This causes Belos, Phoenix, and all the goons to laugh out loud.
"Ze kid controls Dr. Jones," Heinz said, still laughing.
"Enough of this. It's time to really see what you truly believe in Dr. Jones. See what kind of person you really are," Belos said, "See how you truly feel about these things after you see the Hell that is their world."
