Indy woke up in a dark and dimly lit room. He observed his surroundings and found them familiar. Very familiar. He heard some chanting down the hall, as he got up from the ground. Once he got up, Indy looked down at himself and saw that he was not wearing anything except for a band. Taking another look around the room, Indy groaned as he knew where he might be.
"Oh no," he said, as he followed the chanting.
He arrived at a temple, with a statue of Kali looming over everyone. The followers of the cult were chanting as Mola Ram was standing over the lava pit. The Thuggee leader smiled an evil grin as he led Indy to his spot. Indy did not have any control of his body as he allowed Mola Ram to lead him. Watching as the ritual went on, Indy saw that Willie was being pulled by two Thuggees into the cage.
Mola Ram allowed the American to bind Willie into the cage. Willie was pleading for her life as Indy struggled to bind her. As he struggled, Indy saw at the corner of his eye Short Round sneaking into the room.
Willie spat on Indy as the possessed American finished what he was doing. Indy was having a hard time controlling his body. He knew that this was a nightmare. A really bad nightmare, that he cannot wake up from.
Indy was there, but he could not control his body nor could he speak. Everything moved in a blur as the scene of the memory played out. Willie was being lowered to the lava pit. Short Round tried to wake up Indy but Indy slapped him. Short Round tried again, but this time using a torch to burn Indy.
But this time was different as the next thing Indy knew, he was in Cairo, trying to find Marion.
"Oh, I see what you are doing," Indy said to himself.
Indy was running through the different alleyways, trying to find the truck. He managed to find the hooded henchmen and Nazis putting the basket into the truck as one of them fired at Indy. Indy managed to dodge the bullets as a group of homeless people was surrounding him.
Like before, everything went into a blur. Indy took a shot at the driver, as the driver crashed into the ground, going up in a fireball.
Indy found himself now sitting from across from his father. He observed the scene and saw that he was in the Zeppelin. His father was speaking when Indy finally laid eyes on him.
"Now come on Indy, when we get there, we will be faced with three challenges," his father said.
"Wait, what did you call me?" Indy asked.
"Indy, I know you like that name so much," his father said.
Indy stared at his father and laughed. His laughter was hard and hearty as his father stared in confusion.
"I see what you are doing, Collector," Indy said, calming down a bit, "It's not going to work. My father rarely calls me Indy or Indiana."
"What do you mean, son? Isn't that what you like to be called? And who is this Collector?" his father asked in confusion.
"It's quite interesting though, Collector. You were able to create my family, friends, and even enemies accurately, but you were not able to create their memories correctly," Indy said, as he observed his father.
Indy then grabbed a napkin from the table and his pen from his pocket. He began drawing a shape that his father could not recognize. It was the same shape that Luz shared with him, Jake, and Tina.
"The only way to wake from a dream is to turn on the lights," Indy said to himself as he tapped the glyph.
The glyph began to glow as the paper crumpled into an orb. The orb floated up blinding the room. The next thing Indy knew was that he was standing on some sort of ground, as gigantic toys that were made for children were strewn about. He saw that the sky was starry and blue. Looking around he saw Luz getting scared by puppets that looked like her friends. Indy also saw King getting taunted by two creatures that looked like him. Next to him, Indy presumed that the lady was Eda as Luz told him.
Indy ran towards Luz. He grabbed a notepad from his satchel and drew the same glyph as he drew back into the dream. Tapping it, Indy woke Luz up from that nightmare. Her eyes fluttered as she saw the American archeologist staring back at her with those kind eyes.
Luz hugged Indy as she said, "Thank you."
"No problem, kid. Now let's free your friends," Indy said as he drew the light glyph on his notepad multiple times. Each page Indy drew, he ripped it up and gave it to Luz. Luz then ran to her friends tapping the glyph and activating it. She was able to bring her friends, Jack, Tina, Eda, Boscha, and King back.
The kids were crying with happiness as they all hugged each other. Eda and King joined them as Jack walks up to Indy.
"Indy, turning into a puppet is by far the worst thing that had happened to me," Jack said.
"Yeah, I will definitely be adding that to the list of weird things happening to me," Indy said.
Indy walked up to Luz, tapping on her shoulder. "Kid, I think that the Collector might be catching on to what we are doing," Indy said.
"You…you might be right," Luz said, as she wipe her tears, "But first let me introduce you to King and Eda."
Luz ran towards King and Eda and dragged them to where Indy was standing. "King, Eda, I would like to introduce you to one of my world's heroes. This here is Indiana Jones, a world renown archeologist who, with his friend's help, helped my friends and I to make it back to here," Luz said, introducing Indy to her guardian and friend.
Eda and King looked at Indy as they both hugged him tightly. "Thank you…so much for all of this. I just can't believe you guys were able to make it back here," Eda said with a smile, "How were you guys able to get back into the Boiling Isles?"
"It's a long long story. I will tell you guys after we rescue the Boiling Isles," Luz said, "I don't even know where to start. There were Nazis, a Cult, and Belos. We fought what seemed to be dead soldiers. And we got to meet Merlin."
"Wait…Belos!" both Eda and King said.
"Yeah, he's here and so are the Nazis and some of his cult members," Luz said, dropping her tone. She then looked at Eda's stump and was shocked to see it was a stump. "What happened to you?"
"It's a shorter story," Eda said. She noticed a little snake-like creature slithering around Luz's neck.
"Is that your palisman?" Eda asked.
Stringbean was looking at Eda and King with an owl-like creature coming out of the older witch's hair. They both greeted each other with rattles and hooting.
"Look, this is all good and fun, but I think right now is a good time if any to get the hell out of here," Jack said, as he stretch his arms.
"Jack is right, I have a feeling that the Collector might be onto us," Indy said as he was adjusting his hat.
As soon as Indy said that, a pink light fell onto them. The group looked up to see the Collector floating down. Indy and Jack gulped in fear as they felt the mighty aura of the Collector.
"I don't get it King, I really don't," The Collector said, "I thought you like playing our games. But why do you choose these pesky mortals over me?"
"Because your games are sadistic," Jack said as he brought the rifle to his chest, aiming at the Collector.
"And us mortals are always full of surprises," Indy said, bringing his revolver up, aiming it towards the god-like being.
Everyone had their weapons trained on the Collector as the Collector just stared at them with confusion.
"Do you guys really think I have done something wrong here?" The Collector asked.
"Yeah, we do," Boscha said.
"But I am just having fun here," the Collector said.
"Scaring people, trapping them, and controlling them is not my definition of fun, kid," Indy said.
"And everyone nearly died from the Draining Spell," King added.
"So? Toys break all the time time, you just fix them right?" the Collector asked.
The Collector conjured up a doll that resembled him and broke it into two pieces. He then threw them onto the ground, with everyone watching in confusion. The toy then repaired itself as Tina walked towards the Collector, her eyes gleaming with innocence.
"You…you don't understand what death is do you?" Tina asked.
The Collector ignored the question as he began levitating off the ground. Indy grabbed Tina and put himself in front of her.
"Don't worry, cause I don't want to scare you anymore. I do think we all can be excellent friends. So let me show you some of my favorite games," the Collector said as a blue cloud appeared above him.
The wind was picking up as everyone else was watching in fear of what is happening. "Indy, I have a very bad feeling about this," Jack shouted over the wind.
The group watched as the plane they were on shifted and transformed into a maze like structure. The walls were so high that no one can see over it. The worst part about it was that the Collector disappeared.
"Indy, I hope you have a plan," Luz said.
"Let me think," Indy said. He was observing where he was, looking around. Indy was able to formulate a plan as he asked, "Hey Luz, Jack, you guys remember the myth of Theseus and the Minotaur?"
"Yeah, But I don't think this is a good time for a college lecture," Jack said.
"What is the myth about?" Amity asked.
"It's about a prince named Thesus who faced a monster known as the Minotaur. Long ago in my world, there was a place called Crete that was ruled with an iron fist by King Minos. Every year, nine young men and nine young women were fed to this minotaur. The minotaur had a body of a man but a body of a bull. It lived in a labyrinth that was constructed by Daedalus. Thesus, wanting to end the blood shed, volunteered himself as one of the nine men. With the help of the king's daughter, Ariadne, Thesus was able to go through the winding passages of the labyrinth…," Indy explained.
"By using a ball of string," Luz concluded.
"Exactly," Indy said.
"Ok, well does anyone here have a ball of string," Eda said sarcastically.
"No, but I think with that light glyph, we might be able to at create a path for us," Indy said as he took out a notepad.
Indy, with the help of Luz, drew pages upon pages of light glyphs as they walked through the maze. The group stumbled through many dead ends, but the feeling that they were not alone bit at their necks. Indy and Jack had their weapons close as Luz and the other witches had their staffs at the ready.
Turning another corner, the group heard a horrifying chomping sound. Looking towards the source of the sound, Indy felt a chill run down his back.
"Guys, run!" Indy shouted as the gang broke into a sprint trying to get some space between them and whatever is making that sound.
When the sound was close, Indy turned his head to see it was the head of the Collector. "Faster, c'mon!"Indy shouted as the group made another turn.
The witches got on their staff as King, Indy, Jack and Tina jumped onto four of the witches' staff. Eda turned into her harpy form as the group flew as fast as they could. Indy, who was with Luz, looked behind him and saw the Collector about to swallow them whole.
Watching as the Collector engulfs them, Indy felt the darkness surrounding him. The darkness was quickly turned to light as the Collector spat them out, holding out his tongue. The tongue had a big blister like bulb that was throbbing. Indy looked at Luz and her Palisman as her Palisman, Stringbean, held out its tongue triumphantly. Indy was grateful that the snake helped them there.
The Collector changed back to normal, holding his tongue. Indy and Luz smiled, as Luz petted her Palisman. The Collector was mad as he snapped his fingers and the entire environment changed.
The group was separated as they saw each of them was in a marble of some kind. Indy was looking around as he had a lump in his stomach. Looking at Jack, Indy saw fear in his eyes.
"Indy! I do not like this at all," Jack said.
"Where are we?" Boscha asked.
"It looks like we are in a ball of some kind," Indy said, "I have a very bad feeling about this."
The Collector rose up and threw a marble towards the group. Everyone rolled around, as some of them felt their lunch coming up.
"I think I am going to be sick," Tina said as she tried not to throw up.
King looked up in anger as he rolled his ball towards the Collector, who was laughing at what he had done. The Collector landed his feet onto the ball, as he fell backwards with a large thud. This caused King to fly backwards. King looked at the Collector and saw he was still not happy as he snapped his fingers again.
The group now found themselves on a ledge of some kind, with Boscha almost falling. Willow caught the three eyed girl as she was brought back up until the ledge.
"What now?" Amity asked.
"I guess we moved along the ledge," Indy said as he guided the group.
"Hey, has anyone seen Eda?" Luz asked.
"Yeah, I have," Jack said as he pointed to the owl lady.
Luz looked to where her mother figure was and saw she was flying in midair. A lump was in her stomach as they were crossing the ledge.
"Indy, I don't like this at all," Luz said, "Where's the Collector?"
At that moment, the group felt the ground becoming unstable as the tower tilted. Everyone held on tightly as the tower started to fall. The witches jumped onto their palisman, as they picked up Tina, King, Indy, and Jack and flew away from the tower.
Eda saw the tower about to fall onto the group of witches and humans. With her wings, Eda managed to flap her wings together to create a huge wind spiral. This caused the blocks to fall towards the Collector with a hard thud. The Collector managed to wriggled his way out of the blocks as he looked mad at the group.
Indy noticed this, although he saw the change from mad to sadness in the Collector's eyes. The Collector snapped his fingers as the room changed back to normal. Everyone landed exhausted as they were breathing very hard.
"That was not fun at all," Jack said.
"I agree with you human," Boscha said.
Indy saw the Collector quietly crying to himself in a far off corner. Indy walked towards the Collector with Luz following behind him. Eda was about to stop Luz, but King told her to let Luz go and talk to the Collector. Eda agreed with the young titan.
Indy and Luz approached the Collector with some caution, but also with kindness. "You know this can't go on forever, Collector," Indy said.
"Why, because you guys know you will lose?" the Collector said, with a cocky smile on his face as he looked up at the two humans. He saw that neither Indy nor Luz were mad nor smiling. Instead, they had the look of pity in their eyes.
"No, not at all," Luz said, holding her hand out.
The Collector saw this and ignore it. "I just wanted a friend who would not lie or trick me. But everyone is the same. Everyone lied to me. Belos has lied to me, King has lied to me, even they had lied to me," The Collector explained.
"Who are they?" Indy asked.
"My siblings, the archivists. 'Oh let's play a game,' they say, 'Let's play hide and go seek," the Collector said with anger.
A dark cloud appeared in the sky as Indy, Luz, and everyone else watched.
"You go down there and see if the Titans want to play," the Collector continued his angry rant.
The group watched as the constellations illustrate the story that the Collector told. "So I played and it was great. The baby titans were the cutest like King is. And they were all welcoming. But the archivists feared the Titans' powers. So one by one, the Titans disappeared. Until there was one Titan left. And this titan thought I was the bad guy. So he hid his egg and trapped me," the Collector continued.
Everyone watched as the Titan shaped constellation reached out to the Collector and trapped him in a blinding flash of light.
"But I was able to show all of them, even when those trapper jerk started acting weird. Even when Belos lied to me. I found King. I found the last Titan and he is my friend now!" the Collector cried out.
"Collector," Luz said softly.
"I know it's just pretend, I don't care. I will pretend as long as I want!" the Collector shouted, with wind blowing at Indy and Luz.
"But is that what you really want?" Indy asked.
"What do you know?" the Collector asked.
"We know what it feels like to be alone," Indy said.
"To be abandoned," King said, walking towards the Collector.
"To be misunderstood," Luz said, "Look why not show you how we all became friends."
"King already told me about your adventures," the Collector said as he looked back.
"It's different when you see it," Luz said as she took a pile of pictures and started handing them out to the young god, "What do you think, can we tell you about our stories?"
